because..i...didnt...want...to..play...anymore. as in..put controller down. ive done that b4 and guess what? same dumb crap but theyll leave when the counter has about a second left. point is, survivor mode is toxic no matter how anyone tries to spin it. am i the only one who gets pissed off at them ?
That doesn't make sense. You can just open the gate and actually let the game end. Putting down the controller doesn't force the game to end.
-
That's actually an interesting change, not gonna lie.
-
I don't think "not getting to play at all" is better than "lopsided matches."

EDIT: Whoops, wrong thread. My bad.

yea but im not taking the blame for their toxicity , i didnt want to play anymore. they shouldve did it themselves since its their role to open it anyway. so yea, i did know u can open the exit gates but why couldnt they? oh.
If you didn't want to play anymore, why didn't you open the gate yourself to bring the game to a close?

From what I've seen, I'm kinda confused by it. Also, the only times I've seen Predator lose were when the person playing Predator were very deliberately playing recklessly. I wish there was a video that actually better explained what was going on.

In maybe 5000-6000 hours played I have only gotten use out of cruel limits once. And that was running tinkerer and a haddonfield offering, trapping someone in a basement house while they tried to loop the upstairs window and got downed instead. I almost never miss a swing or get 360'd so I don't see why unrelenting would be more valuable than MS. Furtive chase is probably the worst perk in the game since it would only impact baby survivors too scared to touch gens when they don't hear a heartbeat against a stealth killer.
Agitation iron grasp is not a meme build in the slightest. Basement camping is a very valid strategy for killers suited to defending it.
Furtive Chase has synergy with Nemesis and Make Your Choice, which automatically puts it above Monstrous Shrine. Cruel Limits has little use, but Monstrous Shrine has no use, not even in a dedicated basement build. Unrelenting has some minor use for when you try to guess on blindly swinging around a corner. Monstrous Shrine isn't even good for people who can consistently reach the basement.
Iron Grasp + Agitation is a meme build. Camping the basement is a bad idea against competent teams who will just gen rush anyways.

There's plenty of worse perks than monstrous shrine. At least monstrous shrine gives you value when you can make it work. There's other perks, like unrelenting, that are just absolute trash unless you are a rank 15-20 killer who misses 95% of their swings.
There's also furtive chase, cruel limits, bitter murmer on anyone who isn't huntress, lullaby / overcharge at high ranks, third seal, beast of prey, etc etc.
All of those perks are better than Monstrous Shrine, though. Even Beast of Prey and Cruel Limits. Which is saying something.
Lemme put it to you like this: I run Mad Grit, Agitation, and Iron Grasp as part of a meme build. I wouldn't be caught dead running Monstrous Shrine as my fourth.
-
@Shocktober said:
It's not that bad of a perk on those who can afford to run it. But you need to get multiple people down there for it to really shine. It's probably my favorite perk in the game, even if it is suboptimal. Nothing better than deleting people as fast as possible.
Monstrous Shrine might be the single worst perk in the entire game. I mean, if you like it...more power to you, I guess.
@gantes said:
So something that encourages killers to camp even more when survivors are hooked in the basement? Nah thanks I'd rather not have any more perks that encourage unhealthy playstyles
Perhaps add a stipulation that the Killer also has to be further than 16 meters from the basement in order for the perk to be active?
-
Not exactly, but I don't think it's nearly as far off from fine as some people believe. I think covering some of the more extreme uses of it can fix that up.

RBTs are not supposed to work that way. They are supposed to be a Slowdown during the game, this was stated by the Devs when they did this change.
Pig mainly needs some Tweaks for her Dash and for her Add Ons. But the Traps itself are in a good spot IMO.
Nah, RBTs were better before they were nerfed in a bad way. They should be unnerfed.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
They do that anyway.
This'd only be good if you make Ruleset No. 2 basekit.
They are either really brave or incredibly stupid to work on a generator with the RBT on. Unless they want to be put back on a hook.
They most certainly do not do that anyway. It is not uncommon for a Survivor wearing an inactive Trap to work on Generators until the timer does start. Not that I think this buff should happen anyways, but RBTs as they currently are do not do enough to dissuade stronger Survivors from working on gens anyways before working on the boxes.

Bad map design isn't an exploit unless players are actively glitching the game in some way.

You've only been playing Clown since hitting red ranks? I imagine a decent number of players in Red Ranks would be envious of you.

This sounds great, except when you think of one perk.
OoO. Even though I love this perk, Open handed would make this ridiculously over powered.
Additionally some perks it would be useless with, such as Aftercare.
To be fair, if I had to choose between leaving Open Handed as-is and re-working Object of Obsession, that's a pretty easy choice for me.

I've gotten hits like that, too. It's just that it's caused by my opponents messing up more than anything.

So by that logic, demogorgon's shred is situational? It's super easy to avoid unless you're in a corridor or along a wall, so that means it's bad right?
I'm sorry so say this... but you just need to get good. or play spirit if that's what you want.
Demogorgon's Shred isn't meant for stealth/loop contesting the way Ambush or Yamaoka's Haunting is, so that's not comparable.

that's the idea. You crouch at a loop with a dropped pallet or even an unused one. Start the roar, go in one direction and then turn back around to ambush them. It's not perfect, no killer's ability will get you a down 100% of the time.
I personally think that the rework/buff that people are asking for is too much. there is a difference between a strong killer and an OP killer. Pig is pretty good as she is, but I think her biggest problem is with trap rng and some map pressure. She does have the constant pressure of being a stealth killer, but she can struggle in early game.
You have to know her strengths to do really good with her, so some of it is human error.
that's the idea
That's what makes it not good. :P If I wanted a good version of that ability, I'd just play Spirit.

I'm a pig main and her dash is pretty good. You do need to have some skill with her to use it properly, but it is good.
I like it because i use STBFL on her and it doesn't count as an M1 on the obsession. Also to scare people.
I am also a Pig main, and I don't think her dash is good. I think it is very situational and relies, more than anything, on your opponent messing up.

This is similar to Hag and her community perception. The optimal way to play is not exactly explained, and only noticed by a few.
Alternatively, the emblem system is just bad. :P

I tbought that the killer's TRUE objective was to protect the generators.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1179929#Comment_1179929
And this.
Must be why I do so well with the ranking system. I literally toy with survivors and artificially extend the game. I may be lower ranked currently, since I've been grinding Survivor Archives, but easy double to near double by just extending the game and just toying with survivors. Worst game tonight in terms of rank was Deathslinger with gold Gatekeeper and silver everything else. One DC, but had Devour Hope and let the last one escape.
Not according to the main website. :P
-
IMO, the emblem system as it is currently designed sucks.

Again, it's not really a popular perk in the game. BTW kindred by default is 16 meters and adding one open-handed (which is +8 on aura reading abilities) makes it 24 meters. Not 32, unless you have someone else put on open-handed. Then it would be 32 meters. Also, the perk becomes useless to SWF because they have mics most of the time. I know that PC players have game chat and consoles don't, but who are you going to convince to put on a ######### build of you...
This thread is about OP's idea of buffing Open-Handed to double aura reading ranges. Double 16 is 32.
Also, Kindred is now a very popular perk, particularly for solos. It has been ever since it got buffed.
-
It is still possible to lose with an ebony Mori if Survivors are that much better than you.

I beg to differ. Lol. I very rarely meet a killer main that has issues tracking survivors through the corn. Rotten Fields is a killer's playground as there's basically nothing in the middle of the map aside from shack where the pallet always gets dropped early. All the other crap is on the outer edge of the map and if the survivors are really unlucky will just be filled with T/L walls that are facing the wrong way.
It has nothing to do with the corn itself. Farm maps are just massive ('cept maybe Rancid Abattoir) and super loop-friendly.
-
@Orionbash said:

Uh.. You're joking, right?
Rotten Fields, Shelter Woods, Gas Heaven, Azarov's (If they know what they're doing), the entire Backwater Swamp, and Yamaoka to name a few.
Survivors have Thompsons House, two variations of Badham, a couple of Coldwind/Macmillan maps only if a god loop is open, and technically Haddonfield but nobody brings BL anymore so its kinda bad.
No corn map is Killer-favored.
-
Scratched Mirror (and Vanity) should be replaced completely. Fun memes in, like, 3 maps is not worth it being useless in every other map.

I use it as a first hit mostly. Starting to incorporate more mind-games into my games, though.
I mean, yeah, you can do that too, but that's also situational (and slow). The real "draw" of ambush is being able to contest pallets.
-
Diversion - Now uses a straightforward cooldown instead of having to remain within the Killer's TR.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
Pig just needs a few non-rng number tweaks. Increase her crouch movement, move the roar back to the start of the dash, maybe lower her TR back to 28m. Small things like that.
Also I don't know what you're on about @TAG because Pig's dash is one of my primary methods of attack, and it works really well for me! It's probably in how you use it.
I've certainly gotten some sweet hits off it too, but as far as I see it, ambush relies entirely on the Survivor messing up, no matter how next-level your mindgames are.

I see high ranking killers use it all the time, it can end loops quicker than the Normal loop/loop/pallet break. Just off the top of my head Tofu uses it well and the best Pig player on the planet Scorpionz (by mutilple opinions) uses it and values it.
can you give me any argument that it isn’t good besides “I said so.”
It can only end loops that are already not that safe faster than normal loop. On good loops? Nothing. On loops where the Survivor drops the pallet early? Nothing. On loops that the Survivor abandons to run to the next loop while you're setting up your mindgame? Nothing.
-
@johnmwarner said:
Pig trap tunneling is just another form of camping, a slower version really.
Her dash is really good, practice with and it lets you mind game some loops. It also synergies with STBFL.
Her addons are terrible, but that’s really all they need to change IMO
Her dash is not good. It is highly situational at best.
-
Clickbait title. 😒
I think Leatherface and Clown will happen before Pig. Even then, devs have said that Pig changes will most likely be just an add-on pass.

Okay, but who really uses those two perk? It's very rare to even see it in game. Also, you would need to be on the hook for it to even work. You're putting yourself in danger just to use two perks. I understand it's good but it's not that good.
Kindred still works for you personally if someone else is on the hook. If you happen to be on the hook yourself, it affects all other Survivors. No matter who would be on the hook, you get to see 32 meters of aura reading from the Killer. That is a LOT.

I didn't say anything about it being a fact. I made an assumption as I stated in my post. I'm not in a court of law right now and I get to make any assumptions I like. Just like you people assuming I don't like Otz because I think he acted like a spoilt child when in fact I just don't like people acting like a spoilt child.

Give it up, you have been the most boring Otz defender I have encountered on this thread so far. We have him disconnecting when something went against him and based on that I am also going to assume he disconnects a lot more often because it was such a small thing to cause a disconnect. Maybe it is his only one on stream, I don't really believe it will be, but I am very certain if he is playing off stream he has disconnected many times.
I'm not responding to any more of your responses as they are pointless and just covering the same ground which basically revolves around Otz being the best player ever who we can use to champion fixes because if EVEN he is disconnecting then it must be serious. Which is a load of crap.
Again, why are you assuming I am defending Otz? I have not once said that what he did was okay. You've just been guessing this whole time.
-
@MPUK said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1173463#Comment_1173463
I have made an assumption based on him disconnecting when something went against him that he would not do the same had it favoured him. I have also had some of his fans responding to me on this very thread saying he has disconnected on stream 1 time, which is the time the video that has been shared has shown.
If his fans are saying he has disconnected one time and I have that on a video, then I can use that to state he has taken advantage of bugs that favoured him and been happy to carry on the game.
As a killer in the past I had had people get stuck, I have been able to pick them up after downing and let them wiggle out to get them unstuck. It doesn't bother me whether I win or lose. I know the state of the game when I go in to it I am just there to play. I'm not going to have a tantrum because I miss a hit or rage quit the game because someone did my hex within 30 seconds of a round starting, or someone used head on on me when they were a co-ordinated SWF, or if I fast vault a window and take 5 steps away from the window but suddenly I'm on the floor.
We all go in to this game knowing there are issues on both sides, having a tantrum isn't going to change it. It isn't going to make the devs say "oh my god Otz disconnected!!!!! Prioritise everything that has had an effect on him emotionally and fix it, we can't have Otz crying"
Just take it for what it is and move on.
If his fans are saying he has disconnected one time and I have that on a video, then I can use that to state he has taken advantage of bugs that favoured him and been happy to carry on the game.
No you can't. You can only use that to say that he has disconnected on stream/video.
-
Lol, why are you assuming that I support him DCing? You can't prove that he will be in favor of a bug that supports him. That's all I care about.
-
@MPUK said:

You didn't try because there won't be a video of him landing a BS hit on a survivor where he says "Oh that hit shouldn't have landed, I'm going to disconnect on their behalf and end my stream because that way it might get the devs to take notice and do something about the issues" he would just pick them up and throw them on a hook. Yet if the survivor disconnected after he landed a BS hit, I'm sure all the viewers would be VERY quick to stick the boot in.
Your pathetic attempt at defending childish behaviour failed.
I didn't try because the burden of proof is on you. :P
You said that the burden of proof lies not with the person making the claim, but with someone else to disprove.Also, who said I am supporting his behavior?

I didn't even bother trying because what you are doing is a logical fallacy. :P

Show me a video of him disconnecting from a round and ending his stream when a bug/glitch has gone in his favour then we can start criticising my assumption. We have a video of him leaving when it doesn't go his way right here.
@Ghostwithaface You're missing the point here. There is no "shut up" about the bugs there is a "you know what state the game is in going in to the round, don't ruin the game for 4 other people when something happens and it doesn't go your way."
Of course bugs need to be fixed but anyone having a tantrum and disconnecting over something not going their way is not going to fix the bug is it? No, it just embarrasses the people who do it, except in this case he has a fanbase who will say he is amazing for doing it even though it was extremely childish.
Show me a video of him disconnecting from a round and ending his stream when a bug/glitch has gone in his favour then we can start criticising my assumption.
No. The burden of proof is not on me. You show me that your assumption has merit.
