Cause people have been asking for a LF rework since forever, same as Clown.
So he got what he rightfully deserved, after years.
No one is complain about Billy. Hence there was no reason to mess around with his kit.

Funnily enough, all the guys on here that were saying this was a good thing and that he needed a nerf have gone very quiet. I honestly would like to ask the devs what is the thought process behind killer addons because they always seem extremely gimmicky, situational or just flat out useless
This, this so much.
I don't know what the hell they smoke when they make these add-on passes, but holy ######### are they bad, full of gimmick ones that no one is going to use it.
They've been working on this game for 4 years, and it seems to be getting worse, I mean, what the actual #########.
-
Huntress. 100 %
-
I'm quite sure they haven't made any map smaller, they removed some infinites. I don't remember any note talking about map size.
-
I've been using Infectious, Haunted, Tana and Nurses.
Haunted gives you a lot of momentum, even if you only get two.
Slug a bit to force them heal and punish then with nurses.

if survivors have cooldowns HMMM yea unlimited vaults oh wait 3 per window, unlimited pallets oh wait Kick it
what else youre doing in chase? running? oh wait killer has bloodlust (thats kinda timer on you as surv)
stop crying about every single thing, its your 1st multiplayer game where devs are trying to balance game? your main never got nerfed before? GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON
The fact you mention Bloodlust as a negative for survivors gives away the fact you've never played killer.
Going into blood lust means the chasing is already taking too long, 3 gens will be popping any second.

So I guess survivors hated 20 second sprint burst, self care stacking with we'll make it, insta blinds, being able to recover exhaustion while running, not having exhaustion in the first place, 5 second ds, coal tower, Thompson House, old cow tree, old shack, etc...
Like, seriously, can people stop parotting the idea the devs don't give a ######### about killers? When I play killer it's never felt easier unless I get one of the Cursed Trio™ (Haddonfield, Ormond, Yamaoka). Those maps need changes, alongside Cowshed and Fields, I agree, but seriously saying the devs don't care about killers especially in 2020 is one of stupidest things to say.
If we were back in February 2018, patch 1.9.2 fresh off the iron, then I'd agree then. Devs really didn't think that through and didn't give a ######### about killers. Now, they're actually making amazing changes (and some not so amazing ones, 2 of which I particularly disagreed with) to help the role out.
It's not that they don't care, is that it takes so long for then to change things that have been broken for ages, that people ended up reminding of the killer butchering that they do constantly.

The game checks which server you have the best connection to when you start it. The language you're set to on your PS4 has nothing to do with it.
Thanks for clarifying.
Sometimes when Im getting really bad ping I reboot the game and change my ps4 back to my home country language, which is Portuguese (BR).
I thought changing the language was making the game put me in a LATAM server, but I guess it's just the rebooting that fixes it then.

Probably less than 100 of ping.
a stable connection
and low packet loss..
Do you know how the game decides which server it puts you in?
I tend to have an average of 60ish ping, but if I change the language of my PS4 to English, my ping goes through the roof.
So I'm guessing the servers use my system language to determine where it puts me.
-
@Peanits said:
That shouldn't happen unless you have a really bad connection, in which case you probably shouldn't be getting those sorts of hits to begin with (your bad connection is giving you an advantage).
If your connection is good, you shouldn't notice any difference. Your hits will still be 100% instantaneous and feel exactly as they do now.
Could you tell us what exactly is considered a good connection in order to not be affected by the servers?
-
Yeah, im concerned as well.
Let's for tomorrow's PTB to see, but knowing how "well" dedicated servers were implemented, I'm expecting the worse. Let's hope not.

If it's the opposite you'd always hear a heartbeat until the killer approaches. And if the killer finds you, I'd presume the silence would be broken with chase music. So constant noise.
Or is it like Pig approaching? You start to hear a heartbeat then it goes away? Dunno. If I heard that in-game and it wasn't tied to an activated ability, I'd chalk it up to the audio being wonky. Or the killer circling the area; not beelining towards me.
Not just noise,
I'm thinking some kind of ambient sound playing outside his TR. Something
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
So constant noise unless I shadow the killer?
No,
Inside his terror radius the sound wound grow fainter (is that a word)
A normal killer terror radius starts with a very subtle heartbeat that grows louder as you get closer to the killer.
This terror radius would be the opposite.
It would start with a regular heartbeat, and it would slowly fade away as you got closer.
-
@HealsBadMan said:
This idea would be insane, and I would LOVE to see it paired with a power that can scare the ######### out of survivors!
But a change that big, you now have to think about TR perks. Most would probably benefit, like Unnerving Presence, Coulrophobia, Diversion, and Stake Out. But some would be butchered- BT would be practically gone, Dark Devotion would nullify the abnormal TR, and Furtive Chase/Monitor&Abuse- how would that work? Not saying the devs can't do it (what with PH overthrowing a ton of hook perks) but it's interesting from a gameplay perspective.
Everything is kept the same.
The only thing that changes is sound.
Inside his terror radius would be silent, while outside you would hear the regular heartbeat.
Unhooking someone while there's no heartbeat would proc BT the same way.
The position of his terror radius remains the same, just the sound is shifted.
-
@IMhereRUN said:
I have to vote no. I love the idea, I truly do. But basically, you’ll NEVER have a terror radius. That’s too OP for a game already struggling with balance issues. While nice to see it’s be one of the few things killer sided, it just cannot be allowed.
It's confusing I know.
Basically, whenever you stop hearing the heartbeat, it means you're INside the terror radius.

Not really.
Just stare at a wall if it bothers you.
Most killers that are decently knowledgeable know how to look up.
It's just nothing special. What's the point of seeing their Aura if they'll literally be running in front of you for those seconds.
Most killers who are decently knowledgeable know that that's not always the case.
Good survivors will time their flashlights, won't just stand there waiting you have a chance to move your head, and it's no always that you down someone near a wall.
If they keep the 10 sec aura reveal, which I highly doubt it, it's going to be a solid perk.
-
Entity displeased
-
Nope.
Demogorgan perks are all trash, with the exception of Surge.
Finding the other two on the bloodweb is an insult.
I'd like any dev to come an tell me those perks are any usuful. Better year, show me.
-
He/she is clearly new guys, give they a break.
You're probably getting matches with players of higher skill level.
Their matchmaking is pretty much non existent. It has been bad for both sides.
You're not the first one ofended.
-
Could you please provide a link for the Twitter thread.
I'd like to read it.
Tru3 recently started comparing SWF with moral regular intended players.
It's busted ASF.
The devs are so out of touch with their own game it's miracle it survived this long. Guess not having any competition at all allows you to get way with any kind of bs.

Holy #########,
It hasn't been a day since they announced Billy nerfs and you guys are already aiming at Hag.
You guys are relentless holy #########.
-
You forgot to use the Devs words.
"this change aims to give survivors more strategical thinking when running away from a killer, making them consider carefully how to spend their resources" _ Deadbydaylight dev team
-
Doesn't this change completely remove the mindgame on loops?
Cause if the keeps revving for too long now, he'll just overheat.
I'm not a Billy player, but it seems that part of his kit (which requires skill) is gone, leaving his power only viable for traversing the map.
Essentially, reducing the skill cap required to play Billy optimally.
Am I too off here?

Its the same in every games theres always community favorites and theres nothing wrong with that until it goes too far like now with all the posts shitting on the devs for changing the game which is what everyone wants?
People are shitting on the devs cause NOBODY ASKED for a Hillbilly change.
People want them to make changes that have been requested by the community, not to pull out a bs nerf out of their ass for NO fking reason at all.
-
Weak bait m8.
Billy is regarded as the most balanced killer in the game and with a very high skill cap.
-
Cause their big brain mids keep forgetting some killers like Demo, HUntress, PH, Billy, Bubba, exist.
Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to these guys,

You generally don't change things that aren't causing problems in the game, especially when there's a mountain full of things still needing fixing.
You don't fix something that isn't broken. You don't have to be a genius to know that.

Nurse's basekit wasn't fine, it needed some toning down. Although, I agree it was too much.
Wait until it comes into the PTB and start complaining; This won't do anything but make the minimum skill required to play him a teeny bit more.
Hve you ever tried playing Nurse?
It's awful, you have to go through your fatigue, and then wait for the cooldown.
If the cooling off mechanic is as slow as shown in the video, yeah, it's going to feel terribly playing Billy.
-
The most balanced killer in the game gets the famous "addon" pass, hahahahha
What a joke. Guess they have to keep their terrible track record up, don't they?
-
Im not a Billy players, but the video shows a very SLOW cooling oof.
Gonna have to wait and see, but its pretty hilarious that players predicted this after the Nurse "addon, base kit rework"

Exactly. That’s the point. He was being used in ways the devs did not intend. Players exploiting a failing on the devs part do not deserve compensation.
What about SWF then?
It literally breaks the game with zero penalty whatsoever.

Ah yes because getting rescued from a cage only to get put back into a hook is 100% good. As a survivor and killer main this change was needed your just mad you can’t tunnel relentlessly anymore ;) killer mains are the first to complain about DS then do the exact thing it was designed to prevent
You're telling me PH was able to cross the entire ######### map, losing all pressure on the gens, while you were pretty much insta uncaged and healed by a teammate, and immediately down you again?
You either suck at looping, meaning you'd go down from a hook anyway, hence the reliance on broken perks like DS, or you're teammates aren't doing their job at wasting his time along the way, probably cause they are hammering the gens to finish in 5 min.
I'm guessing both.

Because for every 10 games I play, I have about 1 bad game. Does that bad game annoy the ######### out of me for a few minutes? Absolutely. But I use that anger to drive me forward and do play better.
Additionally, the game gets extremely boring if I'm constantly playing one side.
Man, I wish I had your ratio, mine is like 3/5 against a really sweat SWF team.

I've been running the same build, except I use deathbound in place o BBQ.

Here, https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117488, we explained why we changed Ruin. Here is the short version, quoted from that article. It's quoted, but the order of these reasons means nothing. They're just randomly ordered. So the claims that "we changed it because the noobs screamed about it" isn't really true. :)
--------------
We took a close look at the perk to identify what makes it so frustrating to play against. Three key issues were identified:
- Its punishment of new players or those who can't hit Great Skill Checks. Newer players trying to help veterans with generator repairs tend to make the situation worse rather than better.
- The passive nature of the gameplay pressure it provides means that there is a huge amount of potential with very little effort or risk on behalf of The Killer.
- Its inconsistency due to the random nature of the appearance interval of skill checks.
You just forgot the par where NEW players aren't supposed to be Great at the game, I believe it happens, you know, with all games, people have to learn it.
But hey, at least we're getting some new early game mechanic to, hopefully, fix the problem old ruin was a bandaid for.
So, props, I guess !?
-
I think it has to do with their track record.
For every good step they set forward, they seem to set two backwards.
There is also their adamant behavior of not caring for feedback.
Survivors: we don't like indoor maps
Killers: we don't like giant maps
BHVR: here's a corn sized version of Hawkins.
The has gone stale and people have noticed. It's on them to shake things up.
I bet your ass people would be singing praises if they released a "health" patch, fixing ######### up and buffing useless perks all across the board.
Right now, we get a new killer, new survivor, 1-2 decent perks, and the hype dies out, back to the same old stale perks again.
They need to breathe some new air into the game.

I've been on Xbox and I've only played against 2 Pheads in the past 3 days. That's pretty bad for a new killer, i've played against more Deathslingers than him. I never see the new survivor being used either, makes me think this chapter was very poorly executed, I've heard everyone hating on the new map too. I'm all in favor of new content but lately it seems they can't get that right either, I feel like they need a new strategy in terms of creating new chapters...they need to start asking test groups of players like the big names of streaming who would have to sign a NDA etc to see if they would think it would be a good idea to add certain chapters into the game, because honestly since Stranger Things, the chapters have been pretty lame. The Cursed Legacy DLC wasn't bad but the previous 2 chapters have brought more useless perks into the game that no one cares to use really...
They don't care for feedback.
If you watch Scotjund video, the one he says he's taking a break, he mentions something about telling the devs beforehand the new map was bad.
Which makes me think they got feedback from the map, and chose to ignore.
-
As I killer main I really don't mind BT.
It's abusable when it's run in a SWF, but I think it's fine on its own, unlike DS and DH, which are completely broken.
-
Last week we had a 6 page discussion on the frustrating experience of the game.
6 pages, and not a single dev bothered to comment on the topic.
Guess player experience only matters if you're buying their overpriced cosmetics.
-
I believe she's alright, though there are some QoL changes she could used.
For example, increasing her camera high while crouched, as most of the time you're looking at grass.
Her rbt are also extremely RNG dependent. Sometimes people get it off on the first try and it never gives you any map pressure, other times it straight up kills people. I would like to see some kind of debuff applied to those who got it off.
Broken would be fitting for the Saw team.
-
As much as I love his content,
so far, all the Leatherface videos I saw, were against low to medium level survivors. I like when he goes against those really sweat teams, cause then we can get a real look at the killer's true viability.
About the hate he gets, I believe he's a bit self centric (dunno if thats the term), and very much closed to a debate, unless you're aligning with his opinion.

I readed everything you wrote.
Fact is the "meltdown" you talking about is happening because people still think playing killer is always frustrating and they never have fun. AND im saying maybe "You" are the reason why you have a hard time. 90% of red ranks killers want EZPZ games.. exactly. As soon they have a hard time they disconnect?
Also about "Frustration" what is the reason? Maps? A ton of them got fixed are they still frustrating? Yes, because nobody want a challenge.
Tilesets? Well 90% of maps are full with Deadzones. Still a problem?
What exactly is a problem? A good looper? Change targets and play smart. Oh no.. i better run 10 minutes after one person and complain then about "Gen rush" sure ma dude sure.
There wasnt a meltdown when we had Vacumm pallets, infinites, insta blinds, insta gen BNP, insta heals
And now when the game is maybe in the best state compared to the last month and years there is now suddenly a meltdown?
Fact is most of killer players are whiny and want ez wins. Proof me wrong? You cant. Cheers
Cheers.

@caz_ said:
Meltdown? Where?
Sometimes i have a feeling i play a different game then all other people.
My win rate as killer is probably 85% and with win i mean 3+ Kills. What actually is the issue? Are killers supposed to get every game 4K 5 gens left? Either people cant live with a lose or they're just butthurt.. yeah sorry but its true.
When i play Survivor i see how bad decisions some killer make.
Commiting on just one person without changing targets, pressuring other people and having a tunnel vision on me even when people are working infront of the killers face, but then wondering why did i get genrushed?
Some killer players really need to get good, im serious. Im not sure if its because the ranking system and its easy to rank up, because as soon a killer plays against good survivors they Disconnect or just give up.
Not saying that everything is balanced in the game. But the game is pretty balanced compared to 3 years ago.
Imagine im a trapper main who wastes a lot time by setting my traps and always give up on 2 gens but i manage to comeback most if the time.
Because i know when to slug, when to change targets, when to defend my territory etc
Most killers players unfortunately see the game as a 1vs1. Chasing just one person, tunnel, camp or making bad decisions just because they want that one guy so bad.
I say it again.. if i can comeback as trapper main after giving up 2 gens every game and win 80% of my matches then everyone can do it. Some people just need to try different strategies out.
There is no meltdown OP some people just cant accept loses and give up. Thats it.
It seems you didn't read my entire post.
In no moment I addressed the number of kills in a match or what is considered a win. You're discussing something that has nothing to do with my post.
My point with this thread was to raise awareness of the constant "killer is too frustrating, I'm taking a break" posts, which are quite frequent if you pay attention to the forums.
You're beating the dead horse of "killers need to apply more pressure", and that's not what's been discussed here.
