But that still causes an issue. Shards are earned from playtime, leveling up your account level. Some players might only have an hour a day, or even week to play and thus, locks them out of earning perks from the shrine and forcing them to buy DLC they may want but may never use. Like I said, there's a lot of variables that have to be taken into account.
Two separate shrines maybe?
1 for original content, and second one exclusively for licensed.

Original killers can bought with iredescent shards. Licensed are only with money
It's the opposite. Original killers/survivors can be bought with shards, playtime. Licensed are only with money.

@Mikeasaurus said:
Yeah, gunna disagree on this. Why only licensed? What if I wanted a perk from say, Oni, but I don't want to buy Oni because I would never use him? Should I waste my money on a DLC that won't ever get used outside of 3 perks? Are 3 Perks really worth that much money? Locking the shrine to specific characters only would be a very bad move. And sure, the DLC isn't much, but whos to say what is and isn't much money? Some people might not have the income to hapily fork out for a DLC on release. There's many factors that you need to consider here. Not everyone is a walking bank machine.

Lol, or just pay the $10 for the DLC. It's definitely not "ptw" because you can easily win matchs without perks. Stop being entitled.
Lol, this has got to be the worst case of consumer sheep I've ever seen.
There are perks that significantly alter the gameplay, behind a pay wall.
I didn't even suggest them to give the perks for free, but to less the grind and randomness for getting them.
"Entitled" Lols. I own every killer already released dude, I'm not affected at all by this anti consumer model. I made a proposal to help aliviate the grind and randomness for other players.
Such a sheep lol

It doesn't even work half the time and it's on cooldown. Sorry you have to run 5 more seconds to catch up to the survivor.
Lol. Keep with the lvl 20 mentally.

How is that broken?
Cause it completely overrides any mistakes the survivor makes.
The killer wins the mindame, and the survivor just yolo out with dead hard. Just another second chance perk.

Well stop being a big baby and actually play the game, instead of wanting to end a game so quickly bc you think it's impossible to play killer
Say the people suiciding on first hook.

Searching for totems, even dull ones, IS PART OF THE GAME.
They’re MEANT to be process that occurs between repairs and saves that STALL the game, with the risk of IMMENSE punishment if they’re ignored.
This.
The devs have said in the past that they want totems to fill in that second objective shoes.

Yes, you're right it can be cleansed immediately, but they're supposed to be striving for "fun". So now games will go between trashing or getting trashed. How's that remotely enjoyable for either side when it all depends on luck instead of skill? I'd like to go into a game knowing that I have a fair chance of winning regardless of wether the rng lets me or not.
"I'd like to go into a game knowing I have a fair chance of winning"
Literally, have you ever played killer?
Sided maps, broken SWF, 16 second chance perks...
Also, totem spawns are awful, two totems usually spawn next to a gen anyways. It should be cleansed before the killer has time to defend.

His power definitely fits a werewolf much better. At the very least I wouldn't mind a werewolf legendary skin for him... An actual werewolf killer would be better but...yea.
On a side note...Personally, I was hoping that The Blight's power involved temporarily gaining another killer's power at random, probably through injecting those vials into himself. You'd see which is next through an icon near the power icon itself. Or at the very least SOMETHING involving his experiments.
That.. would be awesome, and really crazy to go against. Imagine him making a global sound indicating which power he was carrying. It would be lit. Sadly, I don't think the devs have the technical ability to create something like this. Really nice idea.
And yeah, he's probably getting a Werewolf overpriced, I mean, legendary skin.

Sup my beautiful console peasants.
Just passing by to leave my daily/weekly comment on this wonderful thread.
Let it forever reign on the first page.
Serious though, some gaming journalist need to get a hold of this.
#clownunderrated
-
From what a I've seen on stream he's terrible.
Dunno what they're going to do with him.
They have to fix his collision, but we all know how good they are at dealing with hitboxes and such

Sure hope
-
His voice though....
Steve's voice doesn't fit him at all.
Really odd sounding.
-
They can't code hotboxes for #########..
How the hell did they think capable of creating a killer this dependent on hit boxes.
I'm also thinking they can't reduce his collision, as that would be mess with survivors body block as well.
-
The new killer also care a lot about objects hotboxes... In a game where devs can code proper hotboxes for their lives.
-
@OBX said:
Some pc users are now commenting about frames with this update. Bhvr is laughable. The new killer looks so janky to play, I can’t imagine using him on console.
imagine having to play bumper cars with objects to use your powers.
He comes with a cooldown bar and token built in also lol

Can we remember that DBD makes your PS4 scream like a plane?
Not a single game does this to my console, not even RDR2.
Pff RDR2 or any other game for that matter have nothing in comparison with this beast of a game that is DBD lol
You can't expect them to fix the game just cause other games wayyyyyyyyy better looking and with a wayyyyy bigger scope actual run with a decent fps. Lol
Silly you.

All of you are dumb.Devs dont make skins and fix the game. There are two teams.Art one which makes skins, and "Dev" one which makes balanace changes anf tehnical stuff. You cant just fix the optimisation. It takes time, money and effort.
They can take the money used for paying artist and allocate it to the dev team to hire more competent personal.

Me personally, I'm not interested in playing a Killer in a game where you can be killed as the Killer.
Me neither.
Getting t bagged at, body blocked by half my size survivor, spun by a survivor with inhuman movement is wayy more edgy.
Gotcha

There is no excuse for the poor performance. Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us run really well on the PlayStation 4 and they are much more demanding than DBD.
Yep. They're amateurs
-
I would be really surprised if they new graphics came with better optimization, in the same way League of legends did when they updated their graphics.
I'm not holding my breath thought. I believe it's going to make even more maps unplayable on consoles.
I'd love to be proven wrong by the devs.
-
Man, they can't make the game run properly on consoles while in a first person view, imagine how terrible it would be with a third person.
Though, for some odd reason the game doesn't lag as bad while playing survivor. What a joke.
-
If, somehow, this thread get them to actually fix something, we should start a new one asking for them to fix the control sensitivity on console.
It's a ######### joke,.you can't even change your options properly cause of how laggy the cursor is.
Like #########. How do you make the game laggy on the menus Jesus
-
She struggles on console. Same as Hag Plague, Demo, which frames drop to a crawl for some reason.
-
A joke nonetheless

tnx for coming by and sharing your experience.
To be honest, I was surprised that a topic like this wasn't already always on the front page of this board, considering for how long we were promised "console optimisation". I guess the fact that now we are facing the exact opposite of optimisation was the last straw.
And now with crossplay enabled it's pretty much do or die for them.
People won't let go of this topic so easily. And seeing how amateurs they seem to be, it's quite unlikely that the game will run any better on next gen.
Like, who in their right mind would have crossplay before optimizing consoles. It's another stupid decision to the pile of overflowing stupid decisions.
-
Just checking in boys. It's only been 3 days since we got the message saying they were looking at.
Let's keep track and only leave this thread on e they actually fix something.
It shall be a forever meme of a dev team utterly incompetence.
-
Good survivors mostly use it to extend loops and erase their mistakes.
It is broken.

I think most of us would settle for a steady 30fps. Because that would be a massive, MASSIVE improvement over the current frame rate situation.
Sometimes it's like watching a film projector but in slow motion.
This.

Although I appreciate where you’re coming from, it’s extremely likely that the majority of current gen PS and Xbox owners will upgrade on launch, to within 3 to 6 months on launch.
And as far as I know, the current DBD with any graphical enhancements released between now and then will transfer to the new consoles. No need to buy a dedicated next gen version of DBD.
So I don’t believe BHVR will miss out on much for the small percentage of DBD consoles players that don’t upgrade their console swiftly.
I don’t think the devs are amateurs. Metaphorically speaking, it’s like they overtook a run down hotel only to find the initial things they thought were able to be fixed/renovated were much more overwhelming than they first anticipated. The only solution would be to rebuild DBD from the ground up. Perhaps they’re doing this with the graphics update? (Fingers crossed).
The big hurdle in the meantime is the risk of losing a significant portion of the console player base before these updates/switches to next gen. If that occurs they’re going to need a HELL of a marketing campaign at the launch of next gen to bring players back, and acquire new ones.
I haven't read anything about upgrading the game to it's new gen version, so I not sure how that's going to work.
About the next gen though, I know it's going to be a steady 1 year before it becomes remotely affordable in my country, thus not many players from my homeland will be upgrading soon.
But hey, it's just business after all. Thankfully I can show my appreciation with my wallet.
-
I blame the devs for releasing crossplay before optimizing consoles, which might never happen.
People are just realizing how awful the console version of the game actually runs.
For crying out loud, the game slows down to a crawl even when you are just messing around in the blood web.
It seems the devs really push for unfair advantages built in into the game
*Massively OP with no downside SWF* fine
*Great discrepancy in performance between the platforms, leading to massive advantages* fine
I knew they were amateurs ,but good Lord.

Yep. Every single killer they have released after legion suffer from terrible performance on consoles.
At least they are consistent in this department lol
-
Just make it DLC perks exclusively.
Done.
-
I'd like to know how the fuk did they code Demogorgan.
He lags out every ######### time you look at the ground due to the prompt to use his power clipping through objects.
Like, ######### behavior.
-
You never face those killers on console, so what the hell are you crying about?
PC players have the option. To play every killer to it's maximum potential.
Sorry to break it to you, but you can't just bully them as easily as console killers who have to play against the terrible performance
So technically, you're playing the game in it's full potential now. Time to get gud against the top killer.

It sucks to be pessimistic, but other than planned global content, and urgent bug fixes, I just don’t see them investing the kind of resources necessary to deep dive into each individual console brand to ensure the game runs as optimally as possible when the next gen PlayStation and Xbox are right around the corner.
It makes more financial sense to ensure DBD gets a bang on WOW factor for next gen, and have it running smooth as butter for them, rather than for vast majority of current gen consoles that are probably going to be traded up in the next half year or so.
On the other hand, it would also a terrible PR movement to move on to the next consoles while neglecting an entire, already stable, player base.
I figure many players wouldn't buy the game on the new consoles due to this move.
And also, we are not even sure the new console version will run smooth.
The terrible state the Conroe version is atm has nothing to do with the hardware, as there are plenty of game game who look way better and play far smoothly, with even more mechanics.
Not be mean or anything, but the devs are amateurs, and it shows.
-
The matches I used, the ones with at least 3 flashlights, were legit. Aura reading is underrated.
It helped a lot in those matches.

@Nobsyde said:
on another topic: today I tried a bit of cross play and I gotta say: PS4 survivors play the same, if not better, than PC players, from the little that I saw. To be more precise, console players seem better at juking, while PC players seem better at pathing and looping.
In fact, PS4 survivors 360s are much, much more difficult to face than PC ones - console players know how to make a killer struggle due to the low frame rate (even if they don't play killer, they just learned that something worked), while PC players know that moving left and right is often just a waste of time, making our lives much easier.
...also pc players are much more toxic :D - they really, REALLY love to tbag at exit gates for some reason lol.
That's cause you can't 360 every killer on PC, or wiggle right and left, as they don't lose track of you so easily.
They don't have to fight the terrible performance us consoles killers do, and iirc there is no aim assist to fk you over as well.
Thus , PC survivors play the game in a more "intended way". They have good pathing, while console survivors are kinda of "exploiting" the devs inability to make the game run properly.
About toxicity, yeah, I agree.
I faced my first "mouse wheel flashlight" today, how daunting. Home come the devs allow such thing boggles the mind.
-
Actually. Using a controller for survivor movement might be even better than a keyboard due to the analog sticks.
What might throw survivors off is not being able to 360 every single killer they come across, since PC killers don't suffer the terrible performance console killers do. Not to mention the awful aim assist.
So yeah, I don't think console survivors we give away their pinatas so easily.

I wonder how well survivors would actually do if the frames got fixed.
I know there are some really good players out there, but I'm pretty sure some players wouldn't be so "godlike" were the frames fixed and auto aim removed.
Christ, I hate auto aim

I'm not bumping.
