  • 6 was the number set for a broader search after a few minutes searching for a game.

I'm getting insta games against people that are 6 higher or lower than I am.

    Intended or not. Its terrible.

  • Hey man. Thats not how this shite works.

The next in line for the "unfun to verus, overperforming, pls nerf" is Billy.

You can't just go around claiming hag is unfun to go against.

You have to wait for her turn.

    Nurse

    Spirit

    Billy

    Hag

    Gf

    Wraith

  • Inst supposed to be a range of 2_3 above or below? Quite sure I saw something around these lines.

  • Well, they should have play tested before implementation... And they should aalso have thought about other killers interaction with all the perks.

Ptb should be for testing balancing, bugs.

Big interactions like these two perks and legion should have been spotted miles away before the PTB.

  • @Taiga said:

Survivor perks get nerfed too. I think decisive strike got nerfed because many people complained

    DS nerfed 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • Cause BT didn't need a buff and Legion didn't need a nerf.

But they wanted to throw a bone at the legion players, so they decided to make some changes.

The changes to his adons seemed a bit too strong (as if that is possible), so instead fixing the add-ons, they decided to nerf mending... Buffing the aLmOsT nEvEr used BT.

    Do you understand now?

    Neither do I.

Hey I'm not here to harass a dev...I'm looking for a solution thatll avoid ruining beast of prey and nemesis

I'm pretty sure those perks won't work they people are thinking they will, but if they do, they get changed before release.

We did not change Deep Wound time just to "fix" Legion. It was an idea we came up with that could help with the Legion frustration problems, but then we evaluated it and the other ramifications it would have. We decided that it was a good idea for several reasons and went with it.

    Oh right... Really good idea.

Because no one was using BT, so it needed a buff.

Do you guys even listen to yourselves? Ffs

  • @se05239 said:

    • Make Legion on that the premise that "they're very fun to play with and against".
    • Legion's extremely unfun to play against because there's literally nothing you can do as a Survivor. You're going down no matter what.
    • Devs spend many updates on trying to band-aid Legion's power, by changing perks and how mechanics work.
    • Legion players keep finding ways to bypass changes, keeping their oppressive presence going.
    • Devs finally "rework" Legion by curb-stomping them into the side-walk and burying them in the woods.
    • Changes a few perks and suddenly, the Legion they tried so hard to get rid off pops right out of the ground, thirsty for blood and salt..

I don't even know what's going on in the Balancing department of Behavior's company.

It lacks play testing I would say.

Pallet vacuums were never added, they've always been there. If you go back and watch any footage of the game at release you'll see people warp right to the far side of the pallet.

Having played since the start, I've gotta' say that it's never been easier to play killer. Even going back just a little over year ago, I used to have to deal with people teleporting to the far side of the pallet, Borrowed Time that protected both the unhooker and the person who was unhooked, DS that worked the first time you downed someone with no way to avoid it, and the list goes on.

That's not to say that it's perfect now, but to deny that it has gotten way better since would require a very selective memory. It'll likely always be more stressful just by the nature of the role; it all depends on you. You are the only one facing the four survivors. There's nobody to watch your back if you mess up.

I believe that what op is talking about, is how long it takes for the team to fix things.

How long did it take for you to address BL creating infinites? Or to fix old Freddy?

    That's the issue.

As for perks been easier to go against, DS, BT, they are still TOO STRONG.

They are literally in every build at purple/ree ranks.

    Tell me, honestly @Peanits

Are you guys really proud of having a stale meta for more than a year?

If you mean to say that we wouldn't show the survival rate between SWF and solo players:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/423/GJVLGNL6AIS3.png

Can we have information that is up to date?

Average per rank would be nice as well.

We all know a group of potatoes are as good as a solo player, talking from experience (potato In a potato group ,😂)

  • God forbid they let us see that SWF are over performing lol

Jokes aside, Solo/swf escape rate per rank and killers average kills per rank would be a good start.

There's no need for perk data.

The standard build for survivors has been the same for over an year.

    BT, DS, DH, Adre.

  • He sucks. He will only be good against potatoes.

No Power until he finds/hit someone.

And then his power gets looped to oblivion.

There's a game past rank 15 and it's totally different than what the devs have in mind when they design a killer.

nah man, be respectful, they are people that do this for a living, and to follow a community is hard work, you can't expect them to reply to everything, and especially not as directly as we wish.

Also sometimes they would like to answer, but they are not able to because they can't just say what they themselves think. If a Dev speaks here, it's basically speaking for BHVR, you must be careful in what you say, they need special green lights.

That's why I'm asking @Almo to read the thread, not necessarily to reply to it :).

Sorry man, but it's really frustrating to have loads of people asking them to buff a character, just to have them nerf it again.

And the sort of responses they give to things that are broken.. it really makes me lose my temper.

Should have learned by now not expect anything else from them.

I don't really understand the line of thought:

    • Did BT need a timer buff?
    • Did Legion need a nerf?

I think everyone would agree that the answer is no.

If some add-on combined were ridiculous, then why not change the add-ons (duh!)?

Also, what about the basic attack change? Can you please read here?

Actually, they were getting deleted for a reason — the posters were discussing a leak (a violation of the Community Guidelines).

I was guilty of this at one point but I hurried up and edit everything out (as well as told the moderators I'm really sorry). I was so scared! 😱

#########? I'm pretty sure I've seen lots of posts talking about the new killer... In previous chapters as well. Guess is against their guidelines when it suits them..

I know this isn't a very serious thread, but let's try to turn this into something constructive. How many average kills do you think something should get per match before you consider it to be overperforming? We can talk specifically about red ranks if you prefer.

They've been over performing ever since. Are there any plans to bring them close to Solo levels?

I suppose that's one way to look at it. I, for one, remember loads of moonwalking Legions or Frank's Mix Tapes being used to down someone with no counterplay, making it very unenjoyable to go against. I also recall Freddy being way too good at slugging since you had to wake someone up before being able to heal them.

It's important to remember why things were changed, not just that they were changed.

I think the problem is not that you can't strike a balance when nerfing a character, which is pretty terrible on itself.

The issue is the time it takes for the team to acknowledge they fkd up and then fix the character.

How long did it take to rework Freddy? How long will it take to rework Legion?

How long will it take to buff the majority of the killers roster that is rotting in oblivion?

1 year, maybe 2? You guys are really resting your audience patience.

  • @kamisen said:

So the title is sarcastic, or what?

I have to say, not the most constructive way to ask someone for a new feature.

Well, if in three years they haven't responded to the constructive ways... Perhaps a bit os sarcasm will get the message through.

  • @Peanits said:

To say that nobody asked for changes is objectively untrue. It doesn't take much searching to find a whole trove of videos, threads, and comments about The Spirit. I think you're missing the point of the argument, it's very rarely about how powerful she is, it's about not being fun to play against. You cannot tell someone that they're having fun when they're not, that's not up to you to decide.

If you want to argue that a video game shouldn't be fun to play, I'm not sure what to say at that point.

Well then, are you guys able to make her fun to play against without completely gutting her, like you did with Legion?

I believe that's the million dollars question.

You mean how they nerfed Legion into uselessness cause people didn't want to adapt to a new playstyle? The exploit should have been removed, but the nerfing they got was not justified. You can not say that they "Just changed the annoying aspect" of Legion, because they didn't. They crippled them.

    Exactly.

  • They will probably change the annoying aspect of facing spirit. You know, like they did with Legion.

    Nothing to worry about.

Comparing it to ruin is a real stretch. That's like comparing apples to oranges.

They have ample counterplay already, that's the issue. It's one thing if it's a hard counter to something incredibly powerful, but to render an average perk completely useless would be silly.

I'm wasn't comparing the effects of the perks, but making an argument to your comment "it would discourage people from using certain perks", seeing that ruin is one of, if not the most used perk in the game (killers) despite lasting roughly 30 sec in the majority of the matches.

About the perk itself, give it a CD, make so killers have to manually activate a locker in order to become an iron maiden, but make some changes.

The sheer amount of useless perks in the game is baffling for both sides.

There are lots of ideas in the forums for many perks improvement. The devs just have to, you know, read the forums.

  • @Peanits said:

Making it injure survivors would completely negate a perk like Inner Strength and greatly reduce the value of others (i.e. Head On). Other survivors would just stop using them entirely once they know the killer's using it.

Exposed has a bit of a risk, but works better with other perks. It could backfire, but you can also outlast the effects. Maybe making the timer a little longer would help, but making it straight up injure you would discourage people from using lockers entirely (at which point, your perk isn't doing anything).

Wouldn't the perk then be some kind of a counter perk to those you mentioned?

Heck, it would even act as a counter to ds.

The killer would be giving up one perk slot in the chances he could into someone using those perks. It sounds like a counter to me.

"Hi, BuT iT wOuLd disCoUrAge PeOple FroM UsIng"

The same way you discourage killers from using RUIN by having survivors spawn on top of it?

  • Nerfed? HA.

I still see 4 ds every single game past rank 10. If anything is still too strong.

  • Why not just use unbreakable?

I really don't get it. There is a perk exactly for this kind of situation, why not use it?

To hard to let go of the premium

    DS, BT, Adrenaline, Exhaustion perk

    Build I guess...

  • Sorry buddy, but I stopped reading at "MoM wasnt that big of a deal".

    It was completely busted.

  • @Slaymore said:

  • Trump is so proud.

  • @Slaymore said:

Oh yes, why not auto kill everyone at end game to make it easier for you... it's not like keys appear on bloodweb as often as your pink/purple crap. It's our only chance in end game as killers always find the hatch first since they can see it too early.

Killers don't have any second chances as survivors do with the hatch.

How would you feel if killers had a switch to kill at least one survivor once the gates were powered and all 4 were alive?

Now, that would be something wouldn't it.

  • @Slaymore said:

Low-use perks are on the list for updates. As always, we have to take care with what we prioritize in our releases. But they are certainly not forgotten. :)

Can we expect that in our lifetime though?

  • Eh. How do you get your add-ons to look like that? Is it a mod?

  • They need to start balancing the game around SWF. The game wasn't designed with groups in mind, seeing how badly they break the balance.

Either that or make SWF a different matchmaking.

  • All of them?

IDK, there isnt a single map in which I don't go in felling that it's going to be tough.

  • @dbizzle said:

i play a survivor and i feel as though the game benefits killers too much ill give a few examples

    1. downing someone with one shot. they're down to the ground from a singular shot. ruins the fun for a survivor big time, basically just a killers game at that point,
    2. 2. cant recover on the ground without help. once you're down thats it. if someone else is down too you're finished,
    3. killer using offerings that overrides survivor offerings. for example my cat tingling sense offering is over ridden all the time and the killer is just there with no warning, if they have an offering that overrides it then its useless to a survivor
    4. warning music starts waayyy too late now.
    5. using weapons to kill not hooks. in my opinion this shouldn't be a part of the game, ruins the fun completely and destroys what the game is about , how can you survive if they just kill you on the spot giving no opportunity to be rescued?
    6. being able to see exactly where someone is on the map . ive had a killer put a survivor on a hook not even close to me and ive been in the basement already in a cupboard yet he comes all the way to the basement and to the exact cupboard, no offering should give a player that much advantage

and those are my examples .

Dunno if its bait or just someone who has just started playing the game.

I'll go with the latter, to give the Op some credit.

  • When they pull their heads out of their asss and remove SWF from ranked. It's pretty much exploiting taking in consideration the game was designed for solo play.

  • @TheDarkWall said:

I don't know, some of these things feel like they're the gripes of players who don't know what they're doing or how to exert pressure effectively as killer. Specifically getting gen rushed, which is mitigated by learning to apply map pressure effectively via multiple injuries, slugging and whatever killer relative abilities you have. Your mid level and up killer does not get gen rushed unless they're failing to play effectively.

I feel the developers have indeed put quite a massive amount of time into pleasing this community as they've done several massive patches responding to their criticism and are continuing to do so, the nurse changes being a good example of them. The nurse changes both maintain the strength of the killer, still likely the best in the game, while giving survivor's a very slight measure of counterplay to her in an attempt to make it good for both sides. I do feel they try to take a reserved approach to some changes because this community is whiny as hell in two different directions, and if they did everything people saw as a crisis they'd likely end up nerfing both sides significantly. Even factoring in the more experienced players.

I do see this game as the best it's been since release. There is really no super bs scenario like it used to have remaining. The worst parts of this game currently are mori's, keys and the two best killers not allowing survivors a meaningful way of counterplay. But they're still addressing community complaints heavily. They can't do them all at once because it's a balancing act and shifting too much to one side makes things hard to track and risks overdoing it, so this is the slower but smarter way to approach said issue.

As nice as it may sound to just drop everything and make every patch, instead of every other patch, about improving game mechanics, it's naive to think that is plausible for them to do. Never ending development does not fund itself and lingering sales without an infusion of new will both bore a playerbase and dry up revenue needed to pay the staff at behavior so they can continue work on this game. The battlepass is also being handled exceptionally well and is not questionable. Purely cosmetic in nature and it allows you to earn your money back for an insane discount on cosmetics (over 8k value just accounting for cosmetics in the pass) is excessively charitable. Hell it would be a good deal even IF they did not let you earn aurics out of it. In the end it is a reasonable price for superficial content and a ton of additional free content they're putting out alongside it. For these reasons, I do not feel behavior is in need of slowing down their monetization practices and am glad they're finding further avenues for monetization.

In conclusion, I do agree the game isn't perfect and there are some matters that still need addressed. But the critique of behavior doing a poor job of improving the game and shaping it from what was likely looked at as a casual screwing around game into the most iconic title of a genre they more or less pioneered, I feel you're incorrect. And as previously noted, I feel their balance between QoL and new content to further finance their studio is well balanced and generous to the playerbase as it stands. I have never seen a development studio so responsive to the community and I look forward to continuing to see them grow as a studio and Dead by Daylight grow as a game.

"A development studio responsive to the community"

Dude. With all do respect, what drugs are you on?

It took them ages to "fix" DS, which is still clutch. As you can see in every build past rank 10.

DS, BT, exhaust perk, Adre/ head on.

Great balance, you have 6-8 meta perks. Jesus.

They released Mettle of man, which was massively criticized during the PTB, right after they had "fixes" Ds.

And then, after somehow acknowledging the mess they had done, went on to nerf the perk out of meta, pissing off those who had bought the character for the perk.

They gutted Legion. They are nerfing Nurse's base kit, which wasn't the problem.

Trapper is their first killer and hasn't received any qol changes god knows for how long, thus showcasing their unbalanced handle of new content/improvement.

They are not addressing the gap between SWF and Solo survivors.

Dude. I'm sorry but they are not, in any shape or form a responsive team.

  • OMG. You pretty much summed up everything many of us here have been trying to say to the devs.

Too bad they won't seet it.

    Great job nonetheless man.

I really wish leatherface wasn’t one of the worst killers. I will admit that I have a huge bias with him because I really love the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” series and it’s what got me into horror and into DBD. But I cannot deny it that he is a weak killer even if he does have a power that can insta down survivors. The only thing he has going for him is some players will underestimate you sometimes cause they think leatherface players aren’t smart and his strong defensive ability, but killers play more offensive than defensive in this game. It’s so bad that people say his most powerful strategy is basement camping, but I don’t want to camp; I actually want to play the game. I just want him to be good. How would they do that I don’t know probably buff is rev speed or a tiny buff to his movement speed while revving up his chainsaw so he at least has somewhat of chance to catch up. I don’t think he should be god tier but at least give him something that puts him in mid tier at most.

    Feel you man.

To be honest. I think is hard being A NON SPIRIT, NURSE, BILLY main.

We hear these amazing stories of how these make survivors cry op, and actually play as a power role, while the rest of us are here getting looped, gen rushed, bullied to Oblivion with the rest of the cast.

But hey... At least nurse if getting nerfed.

PrEtTy GoOd JoB am I right?

  • Demogorgon, Hag, and for some reason Huntress are pretty laggy on PS4.

Wonder if I can get a refund for Demogorgon

  • @Peanits said:

You don't have to agree with them, but everyone is absolutely within their rights to say something is annoying. Annoying does not mean too powerful, it means annoying. You can't tell them that they aren't annoyed by her. That's not something that you can really debate.

That'd be like you saying you're annoyed by keys, and then someone comes in and goes, "No you're not."

Lots of people also found Legion to be annoying to face... We all know how that turned out.

Why don't you guys try bringing the weak killers up to a more reasonable place, and then, only then, when you HAVE A HEALTH CAST OF KILLERS, bringing diversity to higher ranks (I think even survivors support this idea), you star tunning down the ones that are deemed OP.

But that would be too hard for the balancing team right.

Start paying attention to all the feedback. You guys have a very passionate community. There are shitload of ideas for pretty much everything. Just work with the community, and you might avoid debacles like the MoM one.

  • The biggest problem is that it seems, as I've seen lots of people commenting on this, that the game wasnt intended to allow for coop play. Hence all the information perks that exist. Survivors were ment to try and interact with each other using the tolls that they had. SWF literally breaks the game in this sence.

As a solo player, you are doing a gen when someone runs into you bringing the killer along. That doesn't happen with SWF.

Someone found ruin? Chase the person, hook them, and now they need to get unhooked before going back to the totem.

SWF just feed information to each other, and while someone is unhooking, someone else is at the totem.

They could all be sweet and gentle. It still wouldn't change the fact that they

    LITERALLY BREAK THE GAME.

And that's why devs fkd up by allowing'em on ranked. There should be a separate matchmaking imo.

1 … 10 11 12 13
