why? just tell/show me what the counter is.
also, not on pc.
Bummer. I fear this is complicated more then a direct answer: Bait out dead hard by imitating m1s (janky movement, faking abilities/pressing M2).
If the killer has to deal with the consequences of a dead hard and lost, it was probably the culmination of many mistakes. Not DH.
Learn tiles. Learn the respective killers ability. Learn to read a survivor.

It's hard to deny that Twins players do the most slugging out of any killer. It directly ties into the power. The playstyle that usually happens is downing a survivor with Victor and then chaining that into going for someone else nearby to try and get that extra injure. From what I've seen Twins haven't gotten the best reception in the community, which is why they bombed in my opinion. But glad you have fun with them.
Nurse is a slugging queen. Oni has one of the nastiest snowballs. It’s not unique to Twins.
I get the reception point but I think a lot of that has to do with the ridiculous number of bugs they had on release. At least for me. Got the adept. Prestige three’d then stopped out of fear of dealing with bugs.
She’s cleaned up now though.

You have to look at it from both sides. Trickster was terrible to play as, having a pretty weak and easily counterable power. Now Twins are just straight up boring to play against. Most Twins players adopt a slugging-type playstyle to be effective. I think we can both agree that's not the best design.
I find the Twins fun to play as and able to contend. Slugging is not unique to Twins.
They are arguably a top five killer. I do not consider them a bomb.
-
I have to remind myself that many players are not experienced at this game. I have zero issues with Dead Hard and when I do lose games it has very little to do with exhaustion perks.
I find in threads like this the complainers know the counters and just dismiss them. Again. It’s probably not this.

What? I thought the penalty was off.
Ditto. I crashed yesterday with no penalty.

This could be an interesting conversation but I find the tone of this post condescending.
The game’s fun. Kiss my jorts.

The last two original killers kinda bombed, so I don't get my hopes up anymore
Four of the last five original killers are some of the strongest killers released. Twins, Blight, Deathslinger, Oni are incredibly strong and incredibly frustrating for survivors to contend with.
Trickster was pretty meh.
-
Buff Billy, Trickster, and Nemesis.
-
This is one of the best most fair tiles in the game. I would suggest learning how to deal with them via guides or thinking it through.
My tip to new players is to never vault a window as killer.
-
Twins. I’ve been mulling a build of BBQ, Hysteria, Sloppy, Flex.
-
If there’s equal chance to catch two survivors, I would consider it a mistake to chase the Victor pounced survivor. It eliminates two survivors from progressing the objective.

But if the killer goes after you, you waste a lot of time because the killer needs to go to your location, and if she goes after another surv she’s a m1 killer
-
Read the description of Victors power then decide if you want to be useless for progressing the game, incapable of healing others, oblivious, and snitching out your teammates.
Also there are bloodpoints for removing Victor.
When playing as Twins, I tend to spread the love after pouncing the first player. And bring Thana to further penalize the survivors.

I'm just going to say the same thing I say to everybody when I hear about the "grind".
The grind is, when you get down to it, literally just playing the game. There's no "end" scenario, no finale where the game has been "completed". The whole design of the game is to play it over and over and over. What's the point of rushing through a bunch of matches when the reward is more matches?
I don't understand why people don't just relax and play the game to have fun instead of trying to hurry to a specific goal like a certain perk or whatever. Once you get it you'll have angrily hurried through the game just to then...play more of the game.
This is a good point and matches with my thoughts. I think the grind is an integral part of the game. The more a player wants to achieve, the more there is to grind. Which I think is great. I enjoy this game as is.
If grinding is not important to the player or there are things a player sees as too superfluous, we only really need four perks to achieve a favorite build. Goal to that then just enjoy the game as is.
You don’t have to prestige. You don’t need 84 purple perks on every killer. But it keeps giving me a bit more to attain.

No. This has been proven a hundred times over. There is no benefit. Just more items appear, since you dont have perks. It is the same as no prestiege if you had all perks unlocked.
I question this since I haven’t seen proof that those nodes do not fill with event addons. Even if it’s a percentage based formula, surely these are bound to have event offerings and items as well.
During the anniver I plan on accumulating tons of Cake Offerings on my favorite (completed) killers.
-
The trick to versing Hag is point your camera at the traps as they’re triggered. The camera only pulls if they’re triggered off screen. This is how survivors disable the traps and run out of striking range.
-
I’ve completed a handful of killers like this. I wonder if there’s a higher chance of event offerings, etc, now. As OP suggests, those nodes are filled.
-
Nope. I usually wait until the killers perks show then press enter on any message I prepared.
-
Victor doesn’t have a terror radius either (his shrieks are considered a lullaby) so the Oblivious is only effective when using Charlotte to pursue. Considering the amount of gameplay is Victor, I’d say this would not be a great perk for Twins.
-
Typically holding an ability does not lose a stack (holding hatchet, revving chainsaw). Attempting to use it does (releasing a hatchet, chainsaw sprinting).
-
I struggled to 1k during adept. Earned it. 4k every match since. Just needs better perks or perks I’m used to.
I’ll play more but agree he feels weak.

With the addition of Small Game 2.0, I think that totem builds will likely die down a bit. The RNG of even having them in a good spot won't matter if a survivor can keep cleansing and finding out where the rest are.
How would running 2 perks that both have limited effects before being deactivated permanently become meta? You might make space for 1. But running 2 would cause half your build to be deleted after the timer runs out.
Counterforce looks to be good value, too. Cleansing totems 40% faster and reveals the next target.
-
I don’t use gen regression on high mobility killers as it is. Survivors can’t do gens laying on their stomachs.
I am interested in Hysteria though. This is one of those perks you don’t see as killer but makes a difference.
-
I have 23 killers P3. It’s rare to get the perks I want on the newest killer. I don’t mind because I have the builds I want on the other twenty three. I set them up that way.
I figure the math for maxing out all perks on a killer would be around seven million bloodpoints fwiw.
Also I’m on P1 for Nemesis and got BBQ at level 37 (47 on P0). I consider this very lucky.
-
Did it with Hillbilly and BBQ. He’s already a killer I feel comfortable without gen regression perks.
Brutal and Agitation felt pretty nice.
-
I struggled with him while adepting. Once he got a normal build I was back to 4k’ing.
-
Took me about five tries. He needs some enhancing but having BBQ, Sloppy, Ruin, Pop makes him a lot more palatable.
-
Whip has too long a cooldown. Inconsistent hitbox over structures. And takes three hits as killer. I’d understand the three hit requirement from zombies but I don’t find it reasonable from the killer.
Two hits are enough from Nemesis and three from the zombies. The AI is being overcompensated for.

@Crypticghoul said:
After playing him for a little over an hour, I honestly think he's one of the worst killers in the game which is disappointing because he probably has the most hype behind him out of any killer.
- He takes way too long to down people because of having to go through 3 health states. The contamination speed boost as if they got hit really shouldn't be a thing.
- Tier 3 feels like it should be how he is at the beginning of the game.
- His tentacle visual is completely unclear as to whether I can hit over something or not.
- The speed boost on contamination shouldn't be a thing.
- Zombies constantly get stuck on things and do nothing.
- You get 2 zombies regardless of map size, so Hawkins and Mother's Dwelling both have the same amount of zombies.
Second killer in a row that cannot end chases quickly.
-
Hillbilly addon pass.
Nemesis becomes a good killer.
Trickster becomes a good killer.
-
This killer is not even close to middling.
-
The sound effect survivors exhibit (infected) is not worth the third hit. Nemesis ability makes no sense.
-
He's going to be the second killer in a row I adept with just the m1. At least this one is 4.6 m/s.
-

I'd say its equally as hard as Freddys'
Oni has the toughest adept in my opinion. Truly hellish to complete.
-
Its probably going to be tough but I enjoy the challenge.
-
I was wondering this too OP
-
Agreed. These changes open the perks up to a lot more killers, including Nemesis oddly enough lol.
-
They’re very strong. I’ve turned around with them. Pretty much only played them at release.
-
He’s just not capable of ending chases fast enough. His issues are beyond perk bandaids.
-
Don’t rely on totems lasting all game. High risk. High reward.
-
Deathslinger is in no way overpowered. I would recommend doing nothing.
-
I think he should have a whole class of steering addons. Four, not two.

@ReverseVelocity said:
How long ago was it that they acknowledged that Hillbilly's animations were broken? It's gotta be coming up to a year now at least, right?
It was around last May.
-
He needs 1. Patch 4.1.2 reverted (increasing base heat dissipation), and 2. an addon pass (more fun addons and fewer/no addons with penalties).
-
Shameless plug. From my thread last month:
Developers - Please consider the following changes to Hillbilly's addons:
- Pighouse Gloves - During a Chainsaw Sprint, the moment The Hillbilly comes within 16 meters of a Survivor who is repairing or healing, trigger a tremendously difficult Skill Check for that Survivor. (Notes: same as Blight's Soul Chemical)
- Spiked Boots - Tremendously increases steering while using the Chainsaw. (Notes: Slightly decrease the steering bonus; remove the time penalty from bumping objects)
- Tuned Carburetor - Considerably decreases chainsaw charge time (reduce from 20% to 12%). Moderately increase overheat from actively revving the chainsaw. (Notes: Increases from eight charges per second to ten charges per second OR +2 charges per second from actively revving)
- Black Grease - Considerably increases steering while using the Chainsaw. (Notes: Black Grease combined with Spiked Boots would now give the same steering bonus that the previous Spiked Boots + Dad's Boots addons gave but higher rarity cost)
- Mother's Helpers - Moderately decreases chainsaw charge time (reduce from 12% to 10%). Moderately increase overheat from actively revving the chainsaw. (from eight charges per second to ten charges per second OR +2 charges per second from actively revving)
- Big Buckle - Decreases Terror Radius by four meters during Chainsaw Sprint.
- Punctured Muffler - Slightly decreases chainsaw charge time (8%). Moderately increase overheat from actively revving the chainsaw. (from eight charges per second to ten charges per second OR +2 charges per second from actively revving)
- Junkyard Air Filter - Slightly increases steering while using the Chainsaw. (Notes: Junkyard Air Filter combined with Dad's Boots would now give the same steering bonus as Black Grease)
- Speed Limiter - Continue a Chainsaw Sprint after breaking a Pallet or Breakable Wall. Survivors hit with the Chainsaw are damaged for a single Health State. Get 150 more bloodpoints for Chainsaw Hit score events. (Notes: original LoPro Chains addon)
- Revert Patch 4.1.2 which "Decreased the base heat dissipation rate from -5 charges/second to -3.5 charges/second". Increase base heat dissipation back to -5 charges/second.
These recommended changes keep in the spirit of Hillbilly's rework. This provides: a better penalty for (reduced) charge time addons, more steering addons, a more favorable balance to 'crack Billy' builds, more silent Billy options, a second LoPro, and above all: more fun for Hillbilly players.
Thank you for reading.

How do you play them? What build? Genuinely curious because they're the killer I've played the least other than maybe Nurse.
I'm using Dowsey's build at the moment. Don't have as many perks unlocked like I do with other killers.
- BBQ
- Ruin
- Undying
- Thanataphobia
I've had a lot of really good games so far this morning. Since Ruin is a passive, Victor can push survivors off gens. Hitting them with Vic keeps them injured and incapacitated, giving a lot of value out of Thana.
-
They can’t get Hillbilly MMR right.
0/3 tests since Sept 2020.

Prestige is not worth it unless you are an obsessive completionist. I completely regret it.
Obsessive completionist here. Prestiging everyone is actually fun for me. I enjoy the prestige ritual of this game and always recommend it to others.
My warning is understanding how teachables, lots and lots of teachables, make the prestige process more difficult. Do one character at a time.
Then when you’re like me, working on your twenty third killer with six pages of teachables and a wish for BBQ, you can always fall back on the other killers already prestiged.
In my case I have twenty two killers with P3 and good builds to help me grind for Nemesis.
