So should we be able to see the killers 4 gen slowdown perks and adjust accordingly
Items are not perks there is a vast power difference between them. Bhvr thinks the killer should have th3 chance to prepare for items and om pretty sure flashlights are the only reason for that no one is interested if you bring a tool box or a media but enough killer will bring lightborn atleast if it's 4 flashlights

A point system would be a nerf though.
The problem is that killers feel that stacking gen slowdown is required. Why is that? Try running a game as killer where you play with no slowdown at all and you'll see that the gens simply go too fast.
Now, what is the solution to this problem? They should do what they do with killer addons that feel "required" Nerf the addon, buff the basekit.
I think they should do just that, nerf the perks, and then buff the basekit. Make the basekit gen kick 10% instead of 5%. Make the basekit regression be 0.5 charges/s instead of 0.25 charges/s. Give a basekit corrupt that lasts like 30 seconds, and also blocks hex totems.
Then go and nerf or rework all the gen perks.
I mean I know how it feels to run no slowdown cause I don't run slowdown most of the time or maybe one slowdown perk

Plague is arguably in the top 10 of strongest killers, but she has depth to it so it is Allright.
Yeah but she has the right lvl of depth. Her m2 is simple and effective without mastering it but she only becomes really good when you have mastered her. That's basicly what I would like to see eith the next killer
-
Yeah can we not make this a us vs them bs? Both things suck and should not be in game that's it

I don't know man... A decently strong killer that does not require much to perform well is just a bad concept, because it will dump the load of investment onto the survivors. If you as the killer don't need to get good at a killer you are by Design rewarded with good performance for nothing however the survivors will still need to put in time and effort to outperform you again... Creating a form of balance that just feels like you didn't earn the outcome you get.
You cannot really expect to do well if you don't take the time to learn how to... And I don't support the idea that it should be otherwise.
I mean I don't want to have Nurse lvls of power that would be absolutly ridiculous im eith you on that but legion is alright may could need a little work but overall quite alright and the same goes for plague.

I just mentioned 3 killers before that are simple to pick up but have depth xD
Blight and Billy for example... You can just zoom around with the power and then go for m1 attacks...
That's funny enough exactly the type of killer I dont want to see again. Its the typ of killer I feel like I need to slug myself through a ton of games just for the killer to feel decently fun.
And believe me I tried it I tried Nurse,Billy, wesker and Chucky and in chucky I especially invested time cause I love that killer so much.
After 25 games I still fellt like I just picked the killer up and I was maybe hitting one m2 if I was lucky.
But I have to be honest to myself it's a lack of skill on my part I know that. I struggle too much with movement killer and range killer (the only exception being slinger I'm half way decent with him dont know why). And I would much more prefer a different power the using a powr just to traverse the map
That's why I like killers like Legion or plague and even trapper sometimes. I would like a new killer that is more like them.
-

But then why not a killer that is simple to pick up but has some depth? Those two things are not exclusive to each other.
but is that possible? ofcourse i would like a killer that has both so everyone can have fun with them but i dont know if bhvr can do that.
-
maybe its time to give perks something like a point system. every perk has points asigned and now you cant make to strong combos cause your points are not enough.
that could also be used as a means of balance since the point distribution could be changed rather then the perks.
as an exampel you have four categories 1point to 4 point. you can use one perk of every category to get to ten points or you can use two 4 point perks and one 2 point or two 1 point perks.

I didn't say something about simple killer... Plague might be simple on paper but she has depth, because there is a certain killerspecific skill cap on her, learning the projectile of the vomit and so on.
I think the best designed killers in that regard are those that are easy to pick up but offer depth. For example Blight or Wesker or even Billy to some degree. You can use their power just to traverse the map and play them as an m1 killer otherwise, but their power is deep enough to have something to learn if you want to be better at them.
Legion does not have that kind of depth, and that's what I think is problematic, there is just nothing to learn.
It is not about a killer being simple or not but about whether or not the killer has depth in their design or if the killer is just flat.
A killer that is basically mastered after one game should not be strong, as the strength of a killer should be reflected in the amount of time it took to master him. A very hard killer should be strong, a killer that is basically mastered immediately would be kind of unfair, as you could just pick him him up and win every match without investing time or effort into getting towards that result.
ofcourse a killer that is easier to master should not bring the same strengh then a killer like nurse or blight that certainly eat a lot of time to master but that deos not mean a killer that has less depth should be just bad because easy.
what i wanted to say is i would like the next killer to have less depth and be simpler to jump in cause thats the kind of killer i enjoy. that a purely personal thing i dont enjoy getting stomped while i learn a komplex character. everyone who does enjoy that power to them but thats not for me and i would like to se a killer that fits me next
-
yeah when a survivor uses there basekit anti tunnel feature to body block i read that as a big ples tunnel me right now i need it sign and now one on the forum will change that
-
@Archol123 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3682306#Comment_3682306
Hopefully not... Legion has no depth at all, there is nothing killer specific about Legion that cannot be learned within 10 min...
I dont care about what power he has as long he has stuff to learn that require some commitment and time and a certain depth. The most boring killers in the game are those that basically can be learned within 1 game.
and there in nothing wrong with once in a while a new killer being simple.
sure the killer needs to be somewhat good and needs to make fun but the fun thing is diffrent for everyone. for me the killers that need a ton of practice just to be decent are boring cause the matchmaking is so bad learning a complecated killer means loosing 20+ matches and getting destroyed just to get a grip on the killer.
dbd has many complex killer that get stronger and stronger the more you master there ability so a more simple killer like legion or plague will not hurt.
but ofcourse that whole thing is a matter of taste and everyone of us has a diffrent taste

@Lost_Boy said:
I don't feel his ADS is that bad if you can consistently hit +10m shots. It becomes more of an issue when survivors are closer to you due to it being pretty slow and easy to predict. The hitbox is probably the most annoying thing as others have mentioned it's not uncommon for the spear to go straight through the target on your screen. This is especially true at short to mid range. Not sure if they could change the hitbox though without messing up the ability to shoot through small gaps properly.
I'm pretty sure its possible to make a hotbox that has two values. One for objects and terrain and one for player characters

I think the games where more fun cause wirh the emblems the game atleast tryd to be fair cause it was not only kills and escapes but how you played overall
-
Yes I think the hitbox should absolutly be a bit bigger and the speed of the spear should also be a bit higher.
Right now I often see my spear going right at the survivor even clipping them a tiny bit but they still can dodge like neo

That's also true, but if the MMR was anywhere CLOSE to accurate queues would be ludicrously long for good players
Yeah thats true but I think right now it still could get better without making qs longer.
I think most importantly they need to make the mmr more accurate in the lower lvls and when it gets higher it loses up a little so you don't have people with 100 hours facen people with 5k hours

Ah okay I see what you mean. I thought you meant tunneling on a personal level, which is annoying but not bad if you're a good player. But yeah, seeing the claudette with 50 hours get insta tunneled really sucks because after that there's nothing you can do. I have 3.2k hours so I'm pretty experienced at running, but when your teammates get hard focused it's a problem.
but tahts not only a tunneling problem. bhvrs matchmaking is freaking joke and there should not be a weak link that is so obvious to identifie if all players where on a equal lvl

You are planning on making Survivors be able to t-bag in front of me consequence free for 120seconds???
yes.
but they also cant do anything to progress the game in any way. they cant bodyblock you they cant save there mates.
if they really decide to hang around you and tbag you instead of getting away and reseting then let them. believe me i dont like tbag either and im the first one that votes for a big vacume that sucks them out the gates so they cant tbag and waste everyones time there but in that situation its like you already have tunneld them out cause they dont do anything.
i would even go so far and say i kinda count on the survivor to use that to be cocky and for them to waste time.
and i want to be clear i dont want to make tunneling less atractive i want it gone with one punch maybe it even needs to be five whole minutes long so really no one trys to wait it out
-
i mean what do you want them to change? if i dont want to run in the pallet you are obviously standing at cause you know the killer has eyes im not going to.
do you want more god pallets that you need to cross and need to break or what?

Surprised it could result in a ban. I thought this would fall under old SM rules that the SM doesn't have to leave her 3 gen, but survivors don't have to enter it either.
I do agree with @KateMain86 that the burden is more on the killer here. The survivor has an an incredibly small chance to advance the game by forcing the locker pick via a wiggle, there is no way the killer can advance the game without opening the locker.
the thing is there is no advancing the game at that point. it was the last survivor when the survivor leaves the locker hes dead if he gets pulled out of the locker hes dead there is no chance for the survivor to win.
now before anyone comes with like the two or three unlikely situation where the survivor has a ace up there sleeves.
if he has ds not opening the locker is the correct counterplay just like being in the locker is the correct counterplay for tombstone.
if the survivor by chance has a wiggle build and the locker is in a freaky deadzone where the killer could not reach a hook no matter what the survivor would be dead anyway cause then the correct counterplay is to drop and let them bleed out wich probably would have gotten hate too.
there is no right or wrong in that situation the survivor had all rights to stay put and dont give them the kill via tombstone and the killer had all rights to wait it out too. that was a game of wills and obviously both had a strong will and sat it out.
in the end we cant blame anyone and i really think the ban was not for "holding hostage" cause then bhvr would contradict themselfs it was more likely for being rude af in chat after this incredebly long staring contest
-
@ImWinston said:
Killer knew where the survivor was... he could finish the game without any problems. Locker is the only counter move against tombstone. Maybe the survivor was hoping that Myers would move away for a few seconds and then have time to go to another loop.
Everyone talks about the "survivor rule book"... but in this case it seems like a "killer rule book" to me. I am not obligated to help with your "Tombstone Myers 4k"
yes thats true you are not obligated to help with the achievment but you also have no right to call it a hostage situation when you could have come out and die. from what i have seen to this point bhvr says its a hostage situation when the survivor has no own choice to do anything that ends the game. the survivor had a chance to end it.
both are supper betty and stubborn in that situation but this did not deseverd a ban. its a totally diffrent thing ofourse if its true that the ban was for harresment in chat like some people said

A SWF cant abuse it and let me tell you why, due to everyone having DS you know that they will have DS so if they try body blocking then you slug them and just don’t pick them up if they have unbreakable then good they just wasted their unbreakable if not good that’s free slowdown for you cause another survivor has to heal them. They can’t do generators and they can’t heal themselves which just wastes their time if they are trying to mess with you.
the unhooked stealth isn’t abusable either since its stealth the killer won’t be able to track you so they won’t even bother with you
I get where you're coming from but I always hated that logic. Yes slugging them is technically slowdown but most of the time you get 5 to 10 secs out of it max. I would rather not loose the other survivors I wanted to get cause I wanted to play nice and don't tunnel.
Let them loose collision completely for the full duration there is nothing to abuse there cause they can't do anything without losing ds.

If this is a matter that is worth a ban then both should be hit. The survivor absolutly can't call it hostage holding when he can just leave the locker.
Bhvr always insists that it's not holding the game hostage if it still can ens normally. And no I don't think the survivor is obligated to leave the locker and just give the meyers the achievement both where incredibly petty ans stubborn in that moment but that stuff dod not warrant a ban

That's also one of my biggest pains, the sheer number of different tracking perks. Some are fair, some aren't, but there's just so many of them that it makes it a rigged coinflip on if stealth is even worthwhile in a match, let alone possible. Both sides are guilty of this, though killer does tend to get some of the more egregious ones.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3681140#Comment_3681140
I'm not saying I want to win every chase, there's just a lot of times where I feel like breaking one off is downright impossible due to extant game mechanics like scratch marks. I can perfectly accept losing chases, just let me have a chance to actually get out of one if I can play my cards right. Also, it's not the gens specifically that I find more fun, I just like hammering out objectives regardless of the game I play. Gabriel kinda became a favourite of mine because of perks that enable that, Scavenger my beloved. I find chases are usually more tiring/annoying/frustrating than anything, though I have had my share of enjoyable ones too (ironically some of my favourites have been against Blights).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3681143#Comment_3681143
Simple answer, I don't have enough stealth perks widely available yet. Longer answer, I mostly just feel like there's a couple too many ways to find survivors unless they're running very specific perks, and as somebody who doesn't have all of those specific perks, it kinda feels bad to be punished for committing the sin of wanting to move at a decent speed when a killer is dangerously near, only to have a big neon sign pointing my direction.
what should i tell you buddy thats how the game works.
i get what you want to say but perks are a important part of the game and for specific playstiles you need the right perks to boost them. you can be stealthy without any perks but ofcourse then you are not gonna be as stealthy as you would be with perks and the killer is using perk slots to find you so you should need to use perk slots to not get found.
the scratchmarks are a total diffrent thing and as of right now bhvr wants them to be a somewhat relieable way to follow them untill you find a survivor but even they have perks that make it harder and they already have a basekit way to deal with it but that comes like you say with being slower.
and yes it sucks when you dont have the perks you need for a fun build but that is part of the grind
-
But why aren't you just running perks to prevent being found?
Someone who wants to have chases and be good at it will most likely run chase perks to be better and there are perks to make you more stealthy. The only thing you cant counter at all is killer instinct and that's by designe

Exactly. I don't understand why farming bothers people so much, when there are many way worse behaviors running far more rampant. I wouldn't want farming every single game, but they're actually rare, and I see it as a breath of fresh air.
yeah there is much much worse in dbd but if you really want a farming game get a group together. dont pull some rando in it that doesnt want to farm and in the example of op the people didnt even acepted the fact that they didnt want to take part in the farming they forced op to "have fun" and farm.
just get your group together and farm and if the killer shows that he does not want to farm and would rather play a normal match accept that too
-
@Rizzo said:
Just to clarify, forcing to farm is against the rules and you can report them for it by recording your match, reporting in-game and opening a ticket here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight
Not to be disrespectful but the fact that I as a normal play need to have a recording software setup just for the case I might encounter a cheater or something else worthy of a report makes the whole report system worthless.

the chase music is so loud by intention so while in chase you have a harder time listening to sound cues
^ This. BHVR uses the loud chase music to balance the game.
There was recently another thread about this (and many more before it, because 99% of players want to be able to save their hearing from the future tinnitus that awaits us all from this blaring klaxonic chase music), and this was my answer there:

The killer's role is to eliminate survivors from the match. If you want to make it harder for killers to complete their objective, then they need better tools to defend gens. However, those tools have already seen nerfs because survivors also don't like it when killers focus on defending gens either.
The problem is many people just want to nerf everything killers can do to generate pressure which will only leave the killer role into a spot where it's no fun to play. Tunneling is extremely common nowadays, because a lot of alternatives have already been nerfed.
the most important thing when it comes to all that stuff be it tunneling or gens is that bhvr needs to do the right thing and dont hide the sulution behind another chapter and some perks. best example is ds before the nerfs it was the stapel of anti tunneling perks and its locked behind a dlc char and worse its a only real money char
-
i think that wont happen cause the way i understood this is that the chase music is so loud by intention so while in chase you have a harder time listening to sound cues.
in your particular case it would not matter cause you listen to musik anyway but im sure most people would lower the chase musik to hear the sound cues of the game better wich is not intendet by bhvr

so stop doing the one (1) (singular) objectives survivors HAVE to do to win the game? If youre 3 gens down in 1 chase, YOU are doing something wrong as the killer player. If youve been juiced as 3 survivors have done 3 gens together, lord knows how long youve been blasted for, if theyve done 3 gens with 1 on each one, youve been assblasted for 1minute 30 and they have been efficient with gen pressure, thats not their fault. The fact is killers tunnel not because they have to, they do it because there is zero downside and purely because they can. Something needs to be done about how rampant it is in the game but it'll never happen while BHVR are in full blown hold-the-killers-hand mode like they have been for the last year
okey i see this as a learning opportunity.
having a 1.5 minute first chase sounds pretty normal for me when the survivor does not screw up. evey pallet that can be there is there and i dont know where any other surv is so leaving that chase sounds like a bad idea what am i going to do to get this chase shorter?
and im super honest almost all my first chases are ending with two or more gens done is that just me being matched with survivor that are so much better then me?

I'm not. Thats why I'm here, in a feedback forum, giving my feedback.
The obsession is already a gamble at the start of the match for the most part. I just simply don't want to be the obsession at the END of the match when all I did was hit the ready button. If I get the obsession at the start of the match thats fine. However if I get friends 'til the end and rancor put on me at the end of the match I will consider that extremely unfair. Friends 'til the end shouldn't even work after all 5 generators are complete. At the very least disable it if rancor is also in play.

"You can just hide in a locker"
Right because theres always a locker nearby when that happens. And if there's not, you're going to be found. This is besides the point which is that killers are given too much power and survivors are given too little to deal with it. Anything that gives the killer an instant down power is already overpowered in a game where altruism is half the game. In my experience survivors leave matches the most when an instant down is in play and especially when that power is dominating the match. In a game where survivors are constantly told to get good, RNG shouldn't be this much of a contributing factor. There is too much to consider every match at this point in the game. There are too many perks. Too many RNG factors in this game make for a miserable and boring experience. Its exhausting and not fun.
tldr you dont want to deal with perks you dont like. nothing new with you every perk you dont like you deem unfair or op same goes for killer powers.
no need to talk to you from this point on

Granted I haven’t escaped too much recently in my matches as Survivor lately, I don’t think it is as bad as you think.
Slugging isn’t toxic, nor is camping. They are things Killers can do that are coded into the game for a reason, for people to use to their advantage. Hell, they are even encouraged with certain perks (Territorial Imperative and Forced Hesitation). Idk why people get so upset by it when it’s been part of the game for years and will continue to be apart of the game.
And don’t get me wrong, I don’t like slugging or camping, I think it’s boring to effectively be forced to “sit in the timeout chair,” but it’s still not toxic.
Although BMing and post-game harassment I can understand as being toxic. Less so BMing since a Survivor or Killer tbagging wont hurt anyone (other than maybe their ego), post-game harassment is really toxic and should be take very seriously.
Well tbagging should be seen like cursing someone out in chat since its pretty much used as a nonverbal f you loser so I see no difference there
