  • well if it works so good on him then i would say thats a good thing

  • well if we let the unusual stuff like my child waking up aside the only time i go afk is when the game is over. i often just open the gate myself and go kick some pallets or sit in the basement at that point but the number of games where survivor stayed till the last second fast vaulting the whole time like there lifes depent on them being able to tbag me is crazy

  • i really love chucky and i would love to play him but i just suck with movement powers. its like my brain lacks the ability to learn how to use them

I play Legion a lot and he is not really that weak... You simply need to use some chase perks (I really like Enduring, Spirit Fury).

Overall Enduring is really strong perk for him, because you can leap under a pallet and often end on same side as survivor and just turn around and basically instadown them.

I don't think Legion need major changes, otherwise he would become massive noob stomper -> even more than now.

yeah i really need to farm those damn blood points to get spiritfury and enduring on my legion maybe even a iri button and that can be a really fun time

    1. Because the hipster sells lots of outfits, so they decided to add more characters like her, her 'friend' wasn't originally planned.
    2. Lore wise I like to think Sable is one of those annoying people who latches onto someone and has a delusional close relationship with them when the other person barely knows they exist.

its porbably one of these two and i would love if its number 2.

the other likely reason is that bhvr simply does not plan that far ahead when making character lore and they dont 100% know what ips they can get in wich timeframe so they dont make the effort to write a char into anothers story that they may never use cause the either just dont find the time or it would conflict with some ip character

  • yeah its a shame both visual awesome killers but they are both ranged. i dont want to say they are weak cause i dont know that cause i suck with ranged killers but i also suck with movement powers like blight or nurse so i only get a playable killer when all stars alligne ^^

I don't have a problem with the skin. The trans VA does (she wasn't shown it when doing the voice lines), and she's said she would not have done the voice work for if she knew it was going to be like that. I think her opinion is the most important on this subject matter.

but gues what even trans people can be wrong in matters like that. there is nothig wrong with the skin itself and eeryone saying its to masc to be seen as a female and thats why its trans mockery trys so hard to protect trans people that they are hurting other woman

I like playing Legion, but I am also objective enough to admit that their power is...not great.

It's pretty unfun for Survivors, weak for the Killer and can't really receive meaningful buffs without it being OP.

but there is also no way to change legion without keeping there spirit namely fast running, hit and run and spreading dmg states.

what most survs find unfun is the need to mend but there needs to e something like the mend to make the survs stop working gens or the hit and run does not work. maybe bhvr could think of any other thing a survivor needs to do after being hit but in the end its mend in another skin.

legion is loved by so many people and since i can only talk for myself i would be devasted if they completly rework them into something else and i would probably drop them if they end up with a stupid range or movemnt hit power like all the other killer bhvr does lately.

and lets not forget bhvr is not that great when it comes to reworking there killer ask the @GeneralV how good it worked with freddy

I don't think that's the issue here. Case in point: Huntress!! She got a much more "masculine" body, but no one's linking her to trans stuff.

The whole reason this is a topic, is that they had a trans VA and then had the skin be like that.

have a skin be like what? the cheerleader skins is a twisted broken husk that gets used by that monster just like the male version.

if its about what people can do since the skins are not linked and male and female can be mixed thats another topic but there is nothing wrong with the cheerleader skin itself

  • no and your only no answer drips with survivor bias

I hate the implication that using cosmetics is automatically evidence towards some sort of hatred.

Add onto that that I, and I assume many other players, haven't once looked at a survivor and noticed their charms (unless they're the ones that are all lit up and you see them when they're trying to hide) and I think the "I get tunneled for my charms" holds a lot less water than I think people think it does.

that is absolutly right i had the same thoughts back when buba was the problem. how would you know that i tunnel you for reason x while i use the cosmetic in question. i could just tunnel thats what many killers do all day long

  • i really dont now if legion really needs buffs or if they need buffs how to buff them but the first idea that came to my mind was that i would like legion to be the fastest killer in the game without using there power. not like super fast but like 5% or so faster then any other killer so you really feel like that killer where running is there whole thing.

  • Hey I try my best to push put all the legion games i can but somehow survivor dont like that either....

Jokes aside what do you expect in the first week after a new character gets released? I dont even want to talk about powr lvl cause a new killer will be played by loads of people aslong as the killer is not incredibly weak and then bhvr has messed up. Sure if the killer is very strong or fun the wave of players that play that killer will hold longer and like wesker showed he will even get to be the nwr normal but thats just the flow of games like dbd

I had 3 of them: Leaderface, Athleteface and Smartface. Never had the chance to get Survivorface because they removed them during my attempts and no one plays Jake.

Still, it was such a cool idea for an unlockable cosmetic!

it was fantastic and when i first saw the unknown i really hoped they could revive that idea and give us diffrent skins representing the survivor but then reality crashed i and reminded me that this can never happen cause it would probably spawn the same argument again even so i think it would be diffrent this time

I do. Caricature is creating a image of someone using exaggerated features that are seen as comical and grotesque.

    Example:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YS8EPB7CQ903/screenshot-2024-03-14-134201.png

That image has grotesque features of a human male head with a human body wearing feminine clothing.

The person who did the female voice lines is a trans woman and she said if she knew it could be used the way that it has been used by some players, she would have never taken the job. Just because this doesn't affect you or your way of life, doesn't mean it doesn't affect others.

if the problem is the mixing of the skins then they sadly need to link them as sets. i think the cheerleader skin itself is no problem

  • @Emeal said:

When detecting transphobic caricatures in a game, it's crucial to consider not only how characters appear within the game but also how they may be perceived out of context. Look for character designs that rely on exaggerated or offensive features associated with transgender individuals, such as overly broad shoulders or exaggerated facial features, which will perpetuate harmful stereotypes.

We also seek feedback from transgender individuals or organizations to gain insight into how the character designs are perceived and consider the broader context within the game, including narrative themes and tone, to determine if the portrayal contributes to a hostile or unwelcoming atmosphere for transgender players.

When it comes to the cheerleader skin it is indeed not an exact duplicate, that is not what I have been saying. I am saying it isn't different enough to not accidently look like a transphobic caricatures and a stereotype. When I talk about looking for exaggerated or offensive features associated with transgender individuals, I'm not saying there's a 'right' way for anyone, whether a woman or otherwise, to look. It's about recognizing and challenging harmful stereotypes that unfairly characterize transgender people, a character in a horror videogame that crawls into people's bodies is no easy task to avoiding stereotype territory, indeed you have to know of or have spent time seeing the most wretched people online bring them up.

These stereotypes often involve misconceptions about physical appearance, like assuming all transgender women have certain features. By addressing these stereotypes, we're working towards a more inclusive and respectful representation of transgender individuals in gaming and media. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and represented, regardless of their gender identity or appearance.

Now I think you bring up a good point about respect for others, you have a good attitude towards being inclusive with your friends and I would do that too was I in your shoes. It is good manners to that individual and that is important towards living creatures. But I do not think we need to apply manners to a videogame, a digital being is unable to engage in that. If that distinction was not clear before, then let me state it now. It is only a problem when a digital art looks like transphobic caricatures, NOT when real people do.

Now I have been following this story unfold on twitter and on the ghoulery that has happened, its clear to me this skin has been used because it was an easy tool to use to get their hate across and that is also gave them "ammo" to cause their victims a new barrage. It is the fact that so many found it useful that is indicating a problem.

I hope this explains my thought process and I hope you don't think I'm trying to place a looks judgement on women anymore.

the problem i have with all this is that in the end it still leaves a "this looks to male to be seen as female" point and that is wrong in itself. you said it yourself in the beginning when you mentioned broad shoulders and that stuff like that can be seen as a trans strerotype mockery but what is with all the broud build woman out there with saying that feature x on a female body can be seen as trans mockery you automaticly say there is a right way to look like female.

and yes you tryed to make it clear that you dont think that there is a "right" way to look or to not look but you surely get what i mean. when we want to aviod certain looks on a killer that can be both male or female cause we fear it could be used to attack trans people then by doing that we devalue that there are plenty of woman that look more masculin or that have certain masculin features or men that are build very feminin and then you just hurt a diffrent group of people even so you just treyd to not hurt another group.

in my mind the best way to fight back right now is for bhvr to take a very firm stance and to openly talk about that the skin is not ment to be a mockery of trans people or even trans rep in intself sinze its littraly the body of a woman and to take only the harshest option in puneshing people that get reported to attack people only with proof ofcourse we dont want to turn this into some sort of witchhunt where we try to get everyone banned that we just remotely dont like.

as a last note i want to say you are a very polite fellow and even so our oppinions differ this did not turn into some shouting match to see who is right. i would like to offer you some advice and that would be to not dwell anylonger in the pool of pure hatred that is called twitter. from my own expirience its not worth your sanity, sure there are some very good and smart people that try to spread wisdom and good massages but sadly most people on that platform just want to rage and thats why so many thing going on there are ragebate and most things get blown way out of proportion

4 slowdowns aren't ok, info is not ok, STBFL was nerfed, NOED is not ok... What perks do you propose killers run instead?

I yesterday i was tryfor legion adept and i had a whole team telling me iron maiden was op and unfair cause they all had locker perks like inner strength and where mad they constantly triggert iron maiden

  • Yeah let fight among themselves with the last second switches [que evil 80s vidoegame laughing]

Jokes aside i do think it would be great for solo q and is needed but the others are right it would lead to lobby dodging and probably even bulling in pre game Chat. But maybe this is a good cha ce for bhvr to finally do something about dodgers since that is the leading soof bad matchmaking

  • Okey this is something i can understand.

We have another post talking about the new killer and its cosmetics and transphobia. The claim there is that the cheerleader outfit is a madculin body in female clothing and thats what leads to people acting transphobic wich i could not understand since I could not see that body as masculin but this makes more sense

I can see how people might use the fact that you csn match male and female cosmetics together might leave room to use it to bully trans people especially if they specitarget users of the trans pride charm kinda reminds me of the buba problem we had.

Best thing would be to link them as sets wich would be kinda sad since then you could also not combine parts of two female skins but it may be the best they can do and ofcourse they need to target the people who act like this. But then bhvr should refund everyone the skins cause i know a lot of people dont like Sets and may had mot bought them if they where Sets from the beginning

I believe it's important to consider whether our game design decisions inadvertently provide ammunition to transphobic individuals. While I don't believe bHVR intended for the cheerleader skins to perpetuate harmful stereotypes, it's crucial to acknowledge when a design crosses the line. I trust that bHVR wants what's best for their community, as they always have. It's essential to recognize when something comes too close to the line.

A constructive solution could involve issuing an apology, reaffirming commitment to inclusivity, offering refunds for the cheerleader skins, removing them from the game temporarily, and tasking the animation/art team with creating new, more inclusive versions. This approach may be costly, but it demonstrates a commitment to rectifying unintentional harm. I still believe that an Unknown cheerleader skin can be created, but it must be done in a way that avoids perpetuating harmful stereotypes.

I also agree wholeheartedly with the importance of our commitment to our community.

Pls explain to me how this skins is perpetuating harmful stereotypes?

Like i already said earlier you can clearly see that its not the same male body of the baseskin in a cheerleader outfit with a wig. If that was the case i would absolutly agree that it could be seen as transphobe but its obvious that this is another persons body that is broken and twisted to meet the creatures needs.

If its really so apparent that this is a masculin body i would you to point me to wich features make it so maskulin and with that harmful since you think the skin should be changed there obvious is a "right" way to portrait a female body.

Btw talking about how something looks to masculin to be perceived as a woman is sexist af and these Twitter keyboard warriors that think they need to protect trans people are now just denying woman that dont fit stereotypes x there womanhood.

I had a very good friend who was 2m tall and by that taller then every guy she ever meet. The gods had blessed her with a strong body she had many features that would traditionally be considered masculine and I am a man with big full lips wide hips and a soft face all things traditionally considered to be feminin traits. These are just two examples from my personal life to show that there are people whos bodys dont fit those stereotypes so if we now say: " well that looks to masculine to be a woman and thereby is trans mockery" we ignore all the people who dont fit those stereotypes and by this tell them they are wrong and dont fit there gender.

Since when was being trans or not being trans about looks? Many transpeople even advocate that people should not put so much importance on "passing

It would create an interesting scenario. Should i waste a perkslot as killer to simply counter a non-existing ghost? Or should i risk it and ignore the possibility?

Some perks can be pretty good even tho they are not in play. Unbreakable for example.

true but i think there would be a mind game for both sides. is it worth taking the perk and trying to do it or is the killer runnign teretorial and im on hook 5seconds after i enter the basement?

overall the idea of invocations is super interesting i just dont now if bhvr has the ability to properly balance them

  • @xEa said:

Weaving Spiders would actually be an interesting perk, but it seems way to weak.

It takes 120 seconds and it even afflicts the broken status effect for the rest of the trial, so something worthwile would be more reasonable.

What if it finishes one random generator? That would actually be pretty good and would add something to the game, for both sides. But devs are way to scared to give survivors anything decent these days.

lets be honest if the perk where that good it would still be unusable cause all killer would run terretorial or just patrol basement to get a nice nasement hook

  • okey so now ive taken the time to play the new patch and cause of this post i took more time then normal to take a reeeeaaally good look at the new killer and its skins to get a better view of them then only in videos.

op i can really not understand where you are comming from when you compare the base skin with the cheerleader skin you can clearly see that this has nothing to do with trans at all.

sure the overall shape and rig of the killer is still the same but thats also the case for legion and they are four whole persons and you can see its not just his normal male body dressed in cheerleaders cloth with long hair like that one bubba skin. it a whole other person that ofcourse got twisted and shaped by whatver the real killer is that now lives inside that shell.

if you look at the stomach you can see that with the cheerleader skin the big outstanding belly is missing and the face has a diffrent shape aswell since the male skin has that grin that goes from ear to ear and the female skin does not have that and you can clearly see its a diffrent face

  • i would not call this a bug thats just how bhvr handles things in dbd they just use sphers for it

  • oh how wonderfull i hope this post gets lots of posts.

Then killers at least shouldn‘t see the items of survivors or I should be able to cherry pick, which killer I don‘t want to play against (I should see the killer in the lobby).

I wouldn‘t call any item strong currently all got nerfed too hard. Survivors who flashlight save often waste more than 30s waiting for someone to go down (with the risk of getting hit or downed before) -> free slowdown and flashlight saves aren‘t easy if the killer doesn‘t give it to you. My killers always look at walls, which makes it impossible.

Thats something worth debating i think. I alway thought seeing the items is part of the overall killer balance but from what I've heard in the forum its actually not so common to use that info and i honestly dont care myself cause i dont enter the fog without lightborn and i would not give another perk to counter other items.

Sure if he follows me around for so long then its ofcourse a net negative for the survivor team but these people dont care for winnig at all. What i most commonly see is them just being around by chance I guess.

In the end i dont think anything will hsppen because the perk is so rarely used so if we dont get a super strong blind meta i dont think lightborn will even end up on bhvrs radar but you definitely made some good points for your argument my friend and i absolutly have to overthibk my position in thid matter

The reason why people have this stance is that for so long queer people have been portrayed in a very negative light in media. Take trans representation. A good deal of media has them as sick and deranged. So this is why yes, you can have a killer that is trans but maybe it's just not a good idea considering the history of how they are portrayed in media.

I'm not the best writer. Someone else could most likely explain this better.

I mean I get what you say but i think that the big problem with that is that in media queer characters are so often portrait as that a queer character. Its not a killer that just happens to be gay and thats part of his lore its a gay killer that kills cause he is gay and everybode hatet him for being gay... did i saud hes gay!

You know what i mean. If the people writing q character take the time to develope the lore and naturally place the queernes in it everything ahould be fine it just can not be a defining characteristic but that also should not be the case in good characters

In the lore it says that they are not sure if it is an alien, a bioweapon or something else entirely.

Ah okey so it very well could be that the tentacles we see in its powr and Moritz are like parts of the real killer and he pilots his victims like a suite

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/407883/the-unknown-s-cosmetics-and-transphobia

What are you talking about? The Unknown has no gender because we don't know what they actually are.

That is a good point i didnt even thought about that.

I m not super into lore reading in dbd but i thought the unknown is like either changing his flesh to look like his victims after consuming them or just outright taking over there body and twisting it to fit like that roach in the first men in black movie

  • I dont think the body is masculinized at all.

But since the topic is open is it even possible for bhvr to make a killer that is lgbtq presenting in any way without that killer generating hate?

Most of the time when i see people talking about queer representation for the killer mains the people say no matter what it would be bad rep since killers are bad

  • @jonifire said:

The calm spirit and adrenaline counter to doc and Freddy are dumb for shure, but iron will isn‘t countering spirits power, it only makes it more difficult to hear them.

I think the people, who already use it will still use it and they could just add an extra effect if they want. For example you are blinded shorter and stunded shorter by flashlight saves.

i would say its still a perk that affects one spicific killers power.

the thing is the people who use that weak perk use it because they cant stand flashlights and i dont talk about if the killer uses it because he sees 4 of them in the lobby then its a targeted counter but i mean the people that always use it. there are many reasons why someone uses that perk always. its either like me where you had so many bs blinds you just dont want to deal with that or people that uses it because there body cant stand the flashing light.

and sure both these examples could be fixed by bhvr in another way but lets be real that wont happen any time soon bhvr already need super long to fix stuff.

btw i think that flashlights have a hard counter is not so strange cause i think they are the best item in game. if you are not new to the game you can blind pretty reliable and then a simple blind can invalidate 30sec+ long chases

  • @jonifire said:

    It‘s just my bad luck, everytime I use a flashlight/flashbang -> lighborn or Franklin’s.

A perk shouldn‘t counter an item. It‘s like a survivor perk counters the killers power, would be unfair, wouldn‘t it?

Also a survivor following you around is free slowdown, otherwise they gen rush.

Simply making, that you need 80% longer to blind the killer would be fair and will still archive almost the same effect. Most people won‘t be able to get the timing right.

i mean calm spirit counters doc and iron will is still pretty good angainst spirit. there are still some perks and i henostly believe if they make it so lightborn is not 100% safe against flashlights they can just delete the perk then and there cause the perk already is hardly used and many killers even joke about lightborn users. if its any worse no one ever would pick it and you would just need to face another slowdown perk

Ok I'm stare on injections even by me and then I see everything is ok. Don't wanna say bhvr what to do but this just wouldn't be my favorite killer. I hope if something like this will come, they have some tester who are into phobias aswell.🙂

It's not that: Oh spiders, eew. It's constant panic that I can't drop to a lower level.

The first thing I would do is tryout the killer by myself and maybe it's even different if the spider is controlled by another player? I can even watch Hogwarts streams but if I'm playing myself no way. Yeah and I'm lucky that my phobia is really common unlike Emetophobia.

I thought Plague is really unrealistic, except the sound maybe.

oh if i would stare at the injection the ground would come closer really fast. if my wife or kid gets one my stomach flips.

im not a fan of spiders in reallife like i really dont want them to touch me or anything but the bigger they get the more i like them thats why i would kill for a giant spider as a killer but i dont want a bunch of people not be able to play aymore and i dont know how they could handle a phobia mode for a giant spider.

for plague i can see how they could change it so its not vomit anymore but the only spider hpobia mode that comes to mind for me is satisfactory and something like that would not fit

  • @jonifire said:

I hate this perk. Once every 10 games I want to use a flashlight or blinding perks and what happens? The killer runs lightborn or franklins.

    It‘s so dumb!

They should just make that it takes longer to blind the killer, but immunity is unfair, especially when you try to use only flashlight perks.

before that bhvr needs to sit down and finally fix flashlights and blinding angles. i cant even count how often i got blindet from well outside my fov facing a god damn wall.

okey i stopped myself from ranting a bit to much here but be honest its one item and like what 5 perks that get countert by lightborn is that really so bad?. most killers wont even use it if they see a whole team with flashlights sure it sucks if you really want to play a flashlight build right now but im pretty sure next match the killer wont have lightborn. i mean if we follow that logic we would need to completly rework plague and legion cause one makes healing impossible and the other makes it to be the worst thing you can do.

the killer uses a whole perkslot that could be something way way worse for your team to counter it i think most survivor are happy everytime they see lightborn cause its not pr or dms.

many things dont feel super fair when you are at the recieving end of it in this game but thats just how it often goes in a pvp game.if we stay with the whole blinding thing the first thing that feels really unfair for a killer is when you need to kick a pallet like shack and you cant do anything at all against the blind. thats one of my personal reasons to use lightborn together with what i said in the beginning.

always 4x more people than killer experiencing any given match. THESE are the players you should be catering to

I'm sure sitting in queue for 10+ minutes would be a lovely experience for them just to go against the few remaining killers who are guaranteed to be sweating for the win. Not sure if you played dbd a few years ago but survivor queues were miserable.

if i remember correctly the times of long survivor qs arent gone for too long. i dont want to say that right now everything is fair and bhvr still needs to do stuff cause i can see why many survs are not happy but just saying: "we are four so we should matter more" is pure bs

  • ohh is it lightborn is op day again? only people i ever see that want lightborn nerfed are people that either follow the killer the whole match to be a pest or people that want to run there bully 4man stuff. most surfs are happy with every lightborn that they see cause thats a perkslot that could be a slowdown or aura reading perk

I can only guess how you feel. I have Arachnophobia but only for real looking spiders not human like spiders or the little spiders on Toba. But I couldn't finish Hogwarts Legacy because this even with Arachnophobia Setting.

Beside the settings, maybe you can try out playing as Plague in the botmode and see how it goes? Anyway I can understand if you don't want this.

yeah i feel you phobias go hard i cant even watch someone else to get an injection cause of my fear luckily that does not affect non real stuff for me. with arachnophobia as a pretty common phobia i really think we sadly can naver have a giant spider as a killer cause what should they do to change that killer in a phobia mode

There will be more, we do those surveys on a regular basis. In the meantime, I would strongly urge you to share any thoughts you have in the feedback section if you're alright with that. The surveys aren't the only way we collect feedback, they just help us reach a wider group of people who may not want to share their thoughts publicly.

Is that like a actuall job at bhvr? Like reading the forum and maybe twitter and gathering what people think into lists to discuss?

P1: The last I recall the general interaction rate is 50% (including lurkers), and 25% (max) for posting+content creation. Think of how many games you've played, and how many you bothered to make an account and post on the forums for and I think it would be lower than that. My main MMO DDO I don't even post about on their forums, I just play and watch videos. BG3 and Deceive I also watch(ed) videos. I don't watch or post for Deep Rock Galactic or Helldivers 2 (or 1 for that matter), I just play.

    P2: Nothing to add

P3: The Killer having time to swap perks/add-ons is great. It is just when people back out (for whatever reason) that it causes matchmaking to go haywire in order to have the people who already waited in line get any match just to get a match.

P4: I mean if you can't handle movement powers, I don't think you really have to worry tbh. Wesker and Blight and Chucky and Nurse are all among stronger Killers, and that basically is only because of their movement powers.

P5: Ok yeah I friggin' hate that the rift blocks everything for like 20s in the endgame screen. As far as the post-game systems they could probably add like 1k BP for the first person you use the props feature on (that can't be given to your SWF), but I'm not sure its worth encouraging people to use the fun bar every match. People will likely mindlessly click 1 or 5 based on who won, and not give meaningful feedback.

Maybe you are right without playing movement killers i really dont have to fear that much but I have to admit my two killers are among the most hated from what i see (legion and plague) so i worry a tiny bit ^^

To get back to the topic btw why dont we have a stupid phobia mode that blocks certain things Client side

P1: I highly doubt it would even reach 75%. Like I said with the wiggle optional feature, it had sub-50% interaction rates. One thing to keep note of is that by discussing the game in the forums or watching YT content, you are (minimum) in the top 25-50% of players (in terms of engagement, but likely skill as well). 50-75% of people in any given game just hit play and don't engage with outside mediums. Even then, the average joe 'in the know' player is not the person who should be facing (insert banned Killer here). It is the person who actually wants to play the game against that Killer who should play against them. So you are going to have a large pool of people who don't use the feature, and the top players wanting to sweat against fellow sweats (assuming everyone is only banning the sweatlord Killers). That allows for the average player who actually interacts with optional features to not have their mood drop on match start.

P2: The last I played, the longest queue I had was 5 minutes, and shortest were 30s, and the matchmaking was still garbage regardless of time in queue. This would double that at worst. That gives me a 1-10 minute queue time. That is well within normal ranges.

P3: BHVR already stated one of the largest matchmaking misfiress/flaws is backfills. So the current matchmaking mishaps you have the current lobby dodging Killers and Survivors to blame for that. My most often encounter with lobby dodges was from Killers dodging my P100 soloq teammates though, but everyone's mileage on that may vary.

P4: I don't think this would impact Killer mains at large, as I would recommend an incentive for the lesser played Killers. This would impact 1-tricks and sweatlords. In that case I would say 1-tricks are an unfortunate casualty and sweatlords won't be missed. This would also improve the soloq quality of matches. The last numbers I recall off the top of my head was soloq was 60% of the playerbase. Since there are 5 players in any given match, that is adjusted down to 48% of players in any given match. I would estimate Sweatlords and 1-tricks combined to be an estimated max of 10% each. 48% improved and 20% worsened is net positive, so mathematically it seems sound to me, even when adjusting Survivor down and giving Killer full percentages.

P5/bullets system: The problem with that is related to my first paragraph's point, in that optional interaction rates are very low. I guess if you believe all optional interactions have 100% usage then this position makes sense, but think back on how many games you didn't click the "How fun was that match 1-5" scale on the top of the endgame screen. There also is the issue with people misinterpreting the questions such as "matchmaking fair" being "no because I stomped (that guy)/(them)" or "no because I got stomped". Similarly with the perks question "no because Poised/Predator are unusably bad" or "Mettle of Man/Lightborn OP" or "Grim Embrace/FTP+BU isn't fun to go against". We also know they ignore DCs, and that is yet another form of player feedback that penalizes the remaining 4 players of the match who have to slog through a foregone conclusion. That foregone conclusion being the Killer having go through the motions of a victory, and Survivors go through the motions of a loss.

p1: is that real? are the people who engage with the game more then clicking play the minority? thats super interesting and crazy to think for me.

p2: 5min q is for me personally the max. thats reasonable time for me to wait for a game if it gets longer the match itself needs to be quite long for me to be cool with that. if i have on average 5 to 10 min q but the game is only 10 to 15min long i think thats a lost time if you know what i mean.

p3: well then its time for them to do something against that. its not like i have a clean slate and that i never ever dodge a lobby im not a saint in that regard but if thats the leading problem that makes matchmaking so bad it needs to go even so i like the lobby and that the killer gets some room to adjust his build based on item.

p4: that is maybe the point why i am so against killer bans. i am kinda a one trick or rather a two trick. i only play two diffrent killers. partly because i cant handle most of the other killers i struggle with movement power killers like blight or wesker and everything ranged is horror for me. i know thats on me cause i surly could slog through 50 or so games till i may find another killer but for me its mostly a love on first sight thing in games.

p5: sure my questions could be choosed better it was a quick idea but i thought they may could replace that rift window with it that pops up after every game so its in your view a bit better cause im super honest i was playing this game for quite soe time when i first dicoverd that "how fun was the match" thing maybe they could reward players for using a system like that. something like "if you are a nice player and always give feedback you get a prize" something like that even so that would probably only make them just click anything so they get something in the end

Perks are matched with perks. Since Survivors get 16, and Killers get 4, a perk ban system would require a 4 to 1 in Killer's favor. The problem with perk bans is the game has too few anti-'jerk' basekit features, that people would lobby dodge when they see perks banned that would telegraph a playstyle. The Killer banned DS+OTR? They plan on turbo-tunneling. The Survivors banned gen slowdown? They plan on genrushing. There is no good outcome with perk bans.

A Killer ban feature also only prevents lobbies from forming, and doesn't prevent the use of content people paid for. It skips over lobbies, but finds those that are willing to play with that content. I can't remember the last time I had a SM match without an early quit, either hard DC or on hook. If in a hypothetical circumstance where a Killer is always banned, that just shows that people had no desire to play against that garbage in the first place. 1 person should never have fun at the expense of the rest of the people in any given match. That's the overarching concept as to why cheating is so frowned upon, as it ruins the experience for everyone other than the cheater.

    See above 2nd paragraph and

When the new wiggle system was implemented as an optional feature, BHVR stated less than 50% of players bothered to use it/get the BP bonus from using it for the full 10 matches (I don't recall which, but it just shows how few people look at menus or read patch notes). If for whatever reason this has 100% usage rate, then there can be an incentive to NOT use it, like 5% BP per slot unused, or a static 25% for no bans. This can also be implemented on the other end, with the 5 least banned Killers getting a 50% incentive, and the next bottom 5 getting a 25% incentive.

As far as the always be a best Killer, I think that the bottom X percent should regularly get buffs, and the top (same) X percent should regularly get nerfs, and occasionally some of those bottom and mid buffs should skyrocket Killers to the top like what could be argued with Billy. That makes people less annoyed by 25% Huntress matches and 25% Wesker matches and the game being stale.

If we are forced to play ranked only (as MMR isn't optional), then we should have the bare minimum basic ranked game QOL.

but then you still end up with a cycle where the one killer who is considered the best is banned by lets say 75% cause there surly are plenty people who would ban that one killer that is not strong but they cant handle and oufcourse there are the super new players who are not yet into watching streamers and stuff.

and to your first argument. we dont skip lobbys the player who wants to play that one killer that right now is considered the best is just not getting any lobbys for i would asume 10-15 minutes. and if he gets lobbys he is quickly giong to see that he is facing the same players over and over cause server are not worldwide so there is a max amount of players you can encounter and if we assume the bigger part of these players are going to block that killer you will quickly only run into that players.

these player then also only face that one killer cause the system ofcourse trys its best to make qs as short as possible so they will always get matched up so we dont have 10-15 minutes qs. and lets dont even think about what a ban system would do to our already broken matchmaking.

in the end i dont think killer banning will do the game any good i think it will actually just make killer mains quit cause they have to face longer qs or even worse matchmaking all for wanting to play a killer they like wich is a big part of dbds selling point for many people. i would love to see bhvr being more active and and being quicker at identifyng killers that are to strong and bringing them back in line and buffing killers that are to weak so survs dont feel like they only see the same three killers.

maybe insteat of a ban system we could have a actually good survey after every game. just three questions.

    • do you think the matchmaking in this game was fair
    • do you think the perks in this match where fair

and for survivor: do you think the killers power lvl in this match was fair (idk now if there would be something similar for killers)

three simple klicks give every question three points like: -agree- -neutral- -disagree- or something like tha then bhvr could see that data and act on it

The endgame chat can be very kind.. Especially vs streamer and average player.

streamer are probably the worst to encounter.

sure there are many very chill and kind streamer out there but for every nice person there is a load of them that are the most self loving, curses and hate spreading people i have ever seen.

if it would not make the already bad matchmaking even worse i would drop every lobby with one of these TTV psychos. righting this i realise its almost only streamer that advertise there stream by using ttv in there name that act like #########

This. Not much to add here, my friend, I agree completely.

Ranged killers are tricky to create and balance. Huntress and Deathslinger are good, in my opinion, but Artist and Trickster... not a single drop of fun.

huntress yes but i think deathslinger still feels a bit clunky
