but lets be honest they cant really hurt twins since there are like 5 twins players left
-
I am hyped for the rework.
I always liked the idea of the twins and I hope they keep the spirit. This is bhvrs chance to show they can do good complete reworks and if they actually nail this they better give us the freddy we deserve
-
I really only have a problem with boons and I hope they never buff them so no one uses them.
While boons are a nice idea they add a side objective the killer role and i think they already have not really time to spare And they somewhat work against hex perks that already are mostly bad.
I'm absolutly cool with teamwork.perks they really could get some buffs and I also think invocation perks are fine and need buffs. They too bring a new objective in controlling the basement but atleast the basement is risky

they can follow you around making impossible to hook others if they have flashlights or teammate fell under the pallet.
No problem just make it impossible to use flashlights or pallets while the status lasts

I think it would be cool if when a map loaded, random climate variables would happen. Things such as day, night, dawn, and dusk. Also, is it clear, foggy, rainy, etc? Imagine if Ormand could have clear, light or heavy snowfall, or even blizzard conditions. Variables such as these could make it more interesting and even change up player strategies.
only if it does not make it harder to see or track cause im not on for loosing a "fair game" cause rng said todays forcast is a freaking blizzard tough luck finding survivor

Something I see often on either side is Survivors unhooking before the killer has had any real time to leave.
I've regularly seen multiple survivors come off gens and start sprinting towards hook to make a fast save, and wondered why on earth they freely invite tunneling... just waiting 20s so the killer has to decide whether to commit somewhere makes a big difference. I even have builds that benefit unhooking that I've had to stop using, because getting a survivor to stick a gen is really hard.
I saw a game against a Spirit yesterday, where she very quickly ran back to hook after gunning down Maria early... made it really clear she was tunneling. Survivors instead of leaving her on hook a while, the safest place she could be, unhooked her in 10 seconds... She was dead in maybe 100s from the start of the match... we still squeeked out an escape, I got out alive mostly cause I ran object of obsession and resilience and I think she took her foot off the gas thinking she had the game in the bag while I cranked gens.
I avoid taking an exhaustion perk cause I'm trying to get better in chase without one. To my frustration, one of my most successful builds is Deja Vu, Stake Out, Fast Track, Off the Record, simply because Survivors are so unhook happy, and I'm the only one who sticks gens for a few seconds just to see what the killer is doing. Doing this I can usually get all my stacks. I take OTR in case I get tunneled to try and discourage it, and give myself a better chance of building up/using my stacks.
Point is, tunneling is effective yes... but there are a good number of survivors who make it frustratingly easy to tunnel.
thats true they act like second phase statrs after ten seconds so they bold to that hook the second someone gets down

Honestly no one would ever run calm spirit, but your are right. Personally that can go with lightborn.
I mean I get where you are coming from but if bhvr dares to touch my lord and saviour lightborn they better bring a complete fix to flashlights cause Its ridiculous how often you cant do anything against being blindet even when you cant see them they somehow blind you and we need a real counter that is not look at a wall and pallet blind currently also have ony lightborn as a counter.
if that happens i support a lightborn rework
-
@jonifire said:
Lightborn should not give an immunity to blinds. If I bring a full blind build lightborn shouldn‘t counter everything I brought. Otherwise survivours should have the same to counter powers and perks, because items are the survivors power. Before anyone says distortion, you still need stacks, which lightborn doesn‘t.
They have. Calm spirit blocks all screams that mean all perks that make you scream and half of doc's power
-
@Blueberry said:
The perk needs buffs if anything. It’s generally a wasted perk slot.
Nah I would say Lighthorne is absolutly perfect the way it is.
It has immunity against any kind of blind wich can't be countered or worked around and it even gives a bit of aura reading that is already good enough.
If Lighthorne now would get a buff even more survivors would complain about the immunity so let it be its niche perk that is good at just one thing but that thing it does really good

You shouldn‘t have to bring a perk only against tunneling. The current ds should be basekit and the perk should be without the conspicuous actions. A perk should never deactivate only by doing what you are supposed to do. At least conspicuous actions should only be gens. It‘s just dumb that this perk deactivates through everything. I saw so many people do stupid plays only to get value from it. It shouldn‘t be that way.
It‘s so dumb that I‘am not allowed to heal or do anything if I don‘t want to lose it. Therefore this perk actively punishes teammates by design and people who play it, often refuse to heal teammates or do gens and then again they do stupid plays.
I wouldn‘t make it an anti tunnel perk, I would let it be active during the start and then put it on cooldown for 8min after a use.
I'm all for basekit anti tunnel but if that form of new ds was in the game what would be the counterplay? Sure slugging but suvrs hate that too and i could see unbreakable being a meta combo then and the counter to unbreakable is picking survs up wich you can't cause ds... isn't that one of the named of you do dammed if you don't situations that everyone dislikes.

Also some offerings are horribly outdated. Spawning all survivors together should be a killer offering and Shroud of Seperation should be a survivors offering. But is a killer offering?
Right? I want them to be together especially as a legion main why should I want them to be nicely spread over the map

I despise tbaggers at the gate. Both on survivor and killer side. However, tbagging tunneling and camping killers is completely fine imo.
It is completely fine but I do think they breed each other to some extent.
You play fair maybe non meta and want to have fun and get that non verbal f u at the gate that can lead some players to think why not use tunneling eich is easy and strong to shoe it to those poky survivors and on the other side I absolutly get that after tunneling and camping and 4man slugging you use every opportunity to show the killer that he is a looser.
Maybe online gamer should try to breed a better community instead of a digital p contest and smack talk fest. And that goes for every game not only dbd

I think your opinion that it should be normal that all 5 Gens are completed is not really the most popular one.
That aside, my main point was that Killers get rewarded regardless how bad they did. Going down to NOED against a good Killer is not really that frustrating. But going down against that Killer which is just outright bad, IS frustrating. (And this happens because of the 4% Movement Speed, which people like to downplay... But when MfT gave 3% it was the worst thing ever)
But that is the only way to make sure the goal of 2.5 kills works.
The gens should get done most games for that and it would feel better for the survivor too cause then it feels like you had a battle but still died if the game ends with two gens to go it feels like a stomp.

If you want to PREVENT NOED, you need to do 5 Dull Totems. And if they are defending their Totem, you might as well not have the Aura Read at all and the result is the same - one poor guy gets hit by NOED and the rest leaves.
The main problems with NOED are still the same:
- Preventing it is dumb due to relying to cleanse 5 Dull Totems. It is most likely even worse than before, because you cannot afford to do Dull Totems anymore.
- The Killer gets a Reward regardless how bad they played.
While NOED is better, the core issues are still the same. And that there is an Aura Read does not really make it less frustrating when you go down against this struggling Killer who only got you because they got 4% more Movement Speed and an Instadown.
The thing is who say that it's a struggling killer that only got the down because of noed? The gens getting done should be the normal and not only something that happens if the killer sucks

The perks you guys added are great. 70% healing speed is too fast. As a killer main I will never check the basement. Even if I'm playing 4 sable wards. Can we have Jeepers creepers now?? Long overdue. He doesn't have to fly but maybe him teleporting to his scarecrows has a flying animation with the wings flapping sounds since demogorgon has an underground animation. Funnest killers to play against would be clown, legion, demogorgon and trickster because of the visuals and extended chases. Teleporting killers are the Funnest to play as because you don't have to scale the whole map to traverse it. Give us Jeepers creepers with scarecrow set-up but make it where he can lunge off the scarecrows and attack you too. Theres just so much you could do with him and everyone knows him. The unknown is soooo mid I'm only getting him for his perks. So mid. We deserve Jeepers creepers then you guys can get some flowers for the game and you wouldn't have to keep making people
We will.never get jeepers creepers and thats good.
Yes I like the monster two but getting that killer would support a real live monster and that can't be
-
But it could be fun to see. When I started dbd and I Still played survivor every second killer had noed so I always had a bones perk in my build and I actually like hunting them

Exactly, Just Scrap the stupid endurance BT Basekit after being unhooked and make the Survivor lose collision with the killer, not just hit collision but also body collision so they won't get in my way when I am chasing another survivor, especially the rescuer. Make it last a minute or more; as well as cancel early if they decided to do any form of conspicuous actions like fixing a generator, unhooking another survivor, etc. As well as Endgame. (So it cannot be exploited).
The problem with tunneling in general, is that is the most efficient way to win as Killer. Toxic we all know, but it definitely is indeed the most effective way to win if you are certain the survivor being chase doesn't last long in a chase a.k.a Their are literally the weak link or "worse survivor" on the team (swf or not). To killer, is scream free kill and easy victory when tunneling opportunity presents itself.
Of course, what would also be nice if maybe hooking other Survivors killer bugf incentives, like Mini Basekit Pop Goes the weasel per hook or something decent to reward killers with non hooking the same Survivor A.
I would like to see something like a mini badekit bbq set me on a new target thatway I don't even think about sticking around the hook

TBH noed it legitBEFORE MFT nerf it even better than MFT SO YES IT NEEDS A NERF ITHER HAST OR EXPOSEDNOT BOTH AND yes it an end game perk witch means you have lost no need to give supreme value for loosing the match should only be exposed really no hast as it end game peek most loops are non existent in endgame and 8% haste nor nothing makes most loops 80 % killer sided and free hits
Does noed need a nerf? Maybe it is quite strong but people still using "the killer already lost cause the gen are done" is absolute brain rot.
The game is over when it is over not a second earlier
-
I would even say three cause tunneling is not tunneling. If the dude uses his bt to bodyblock then it's not tunneling. If I go around the map not finding anyone and I circle back and find that guy after two minutes that's not tunneling that's bad luck
-
It's rare that we aligne but I'm eith you on that one.
I'd say make the survivor loose all collision for 2 minutes. That should solve all tunneling. No killer is going to follow a survivor around for Two minutes and the whole effect cancels when the survivor starts progressing the game again aka gens totems and what not. Now make flashlight or pallet impossible to use while that effect is on and its not possible to use that effect as a weapon
-
i mean if they need an update to remove them fine i understand that but cant they modifie the apearence rate without an update? if they can they just need to pull the rate so much down you see one every prestige then its a non issue

@jonifire said:
The unhooker and the unhooked should not leave scratch marks and blood pools for a limited time, so they could go to a safer place to heal. It would make no difference if only the unhooked person would leave no scratch marks and blood, then the killer would just follow the unhooker to the unhooked.
I wana add that both should get 100% iron will on top for the limited time of the other effects.
Then tunneling would become more difficult if you have no clue how to find them.
I would say they should do the opposite of what you suggest. Highlight the unhooked and hide the unhooked force the heat on the unhooker so the unhooked case get to safety.
Sure the unhooked doesn't get a heal but he gets away. It would also double as a farm protection if we only let it happen when the killer is still around that way if the survivor makes a risky unhook that should have been waited for another 10 or so seconds the guy that did it needs to take the killer

The vast majority of the playerbase would prefer a 50% kr instead of the current 60%.
Maybe that's a fact and maybe its cause the majority of the playerbase is survivors ^^
Jokes aside I would prefer to see them balance for hooks instead of kills. I cab tunnel out 2 people and that still feels bad for the survivor but if its balanced that the killer gets 8 hooks that would feel better. Ofcourse then bvhr would finally need to find something to do that isn't gens for the survivor cause they whole game would need to be longer since both sides enjoye chases so they should not get shorter

Cages should count as a hook state. They currently stop Dead Hard from activating. This is too punishing for a perk that can only be used twice per match, maximum.

Aside from the mending it's awful they can just speed vault windows, pallets etc. Only line of defense survivors have and there are legions who abuse this mechanic to tunnel survivors. Happened to me twice, today. Even with sprint burst one match and lots of running, vaulting that Frenzy lasted a long, long time. Idk how but it did. And they weren't tagging, they were using it to tunnel.
But you know legion can't down you in frenzy except when they can chain all hits and thats a survivor problem and when they vault a window and candle frenzy they get slowed heavy so you should get enough distance so the frenzy vault was worthless

Legion is not weak and Feral Frenzy is incredibly annoying to deal with. Even if they give Legion a better chase speed to balance him out better, I just want that annoying power nerfed or changed.
Give and take.
the problem with legion is there is no give and take there is only a take. what makes legion so annoying for survivor is that they need to mend over and over again and i understand that but for legion to be how they are you need the mending.
legions core is the speed and the hit and run to dmg as many survivor as possible. you cant take his mend away cause its needed to make his playstyle possible or the survivor would just keep doing gens. you need some kind of side objective for the survivor to do that keeps them of gens. its absolutly possible to change mending into anything else that takes time but would that make legion any less annoying?
so if you want to take the annoying from legion you take legion as a whole from the ligon players. legion is fairly weak if the sruvivor know what they do and since legion is kinda annoying and disliked to face they wont get any better so its not a super common killer

I mean, we finally for the kill rates at the 60/40 they should have always been at. I don't think that should change.
I recall when kill rates were closer to what survivors are currently calling for them to be. I remember when the kill rates were 49-53% on average. This didn't make the games more fun. It made killers straight up stop playing. DO you not recall The Great Killer Exodus, because I certainly do, and I remember what survivors were complaining about CONSTANTLY back then: Long que times.
Like I said, we finally got the kill rate right where they should be. Lets not rock the boat
but i dont talk about changing up the balance. i talk about changing the builds to be less stale and frustrating. 4 slowdowns dont feel great to face and four slowdowns dont feel that good to play either.
with a point system you could say hey i want the strongest slowdown build possible but all the strong slowdown perks have high points so you can at max use two of them and then either a one perk of moderate power or two perks that are weaker.
with that we can change the meta and the balance without making perks bad or even worthless cause we can just change there points so you cant combine the perks to be to strong. i really think that could change the fact that often you face the same three builds all the time. ofcourse this system would require further balance, many weak perks would need to get buffs cause they are near worthless right now and bhvr would need to monitore the win rate closely to keep it how its right now but like i said the good thing that system brings is a simpler way to balance
-
@Sandt1985 said:

If players are no longer able to use the strongest perks together, then they would be forced to, by definition, use weaker builds.
Its not just a killer nerf to a single playstyle. This is a killer nerf across the board
ofcourse but a nerf that overall would be healthy for the game. with system like that you perks could feel more powerfull cause we dont need to fear what happens if these four slowdown perks get combined or stuff like that.

There is no guarantee that you will face a killer with Franklin's, so that in itself is already the balance. However, if the offering bought in is White Ward, then it should do what I suggested instead being forced to drop the item completely making White Ward useless. Instead, what Franklin's can do is deplete all the charge out of the item making it useless in the match if the survivor does get hit while having White Ward.
Yeah well that's the same outcome white ward works but Franklin's also works

Yeah, i agree. Something around 5 minutes will be perfect, especially if i won't matched with 100-500 hours survivors against 3000-8000 hours killers in my soloq after this change.
It also highly depends on how long the average match is.
In lol I have between 2 and 5 min ques and the average match is between 20 to 36 minutes long that feels good.
If I am in the que for uo to 5 min but the average match is only 8 to 12 minutes we come into territory where it starts to feel not so good.
BTW idk how long the average dbd match is I never cared to check

Anything over 5min or even 5min for every que is to much for me personally

Many people do not understand the game system, which says that a on-hooked survivor for 60 seconds is safe. If you take your time and rescue the survivor when the killer has gone on an expedition, the killer won't have much time left to tunnel through the survivor, as he will be busy rushing in and interfering with the gen completion. Without even knowing this, there are many survivors who unnecessarily put unhooked survivors in danger of tunneling.
absolutly right to many survivor think second stage starts after ten seconds. the amount of people who rescue when im just out if the camping meter range is crazy. ofcourse im gonna turn around and take the chase with the unhooker and wont allow for them to reset why woulnd i. and then these survs come into the forum and demand taht the killer gets no info about the survivor on hook and if he gets rescued.

I've never once heard a single good argument against bringing back 5 second DS.
it's always just "perks shouldn't be bandaid!" However, there's literally no other option.
Killers received positive reinforcement via Pain Res but killers can't have nice things because somebody used it to tunnel. So if we can't reward killers, that leaves punishing them.
DS needs to be 5 seconds and be a button press like Power Struggle. I'm still waiting to see a convincing argument to the contrary, but I don't think ot exists. Because we're literally not going to get a base game mechanic.
oke i give you another idea.
kill tunneling completly with one update forever.
make the survivor loose all collision for 3 to 5 minutes. that effect end if the survivor does any of the usual game progrssing things(gens totems gates etc), this effect does not apply when the gates are powered. while under this effect the survivor is not able to use items or interact with pallets.
there tunneling is dead no negatives. if that leads to lower kill rates then bhvr likes buff killers. the only negative i could think of is that technically a survivor could follow the killer around and make call outs to his swf via coms but thats a swf is stupid problem
-
@Ethromel said:

They more than likely do it to get a reaction out of you, they want you to get salty and upset. Just simply don’t give them that satisfaction or kill them with kindness if they start trash talking.
If you take a step back for a second and realize that you’re getting upset over someone hitting a button in a video game it is rather funny and often will change your perspective.
Don’t let other people determine your mood and feelings, they’re yours not others.

you know what?
you two actually made a diffrence today. i will certainly try to laugh about it next time it happens but i will also stick to avoiding the gate i think the people who really do it to hit you will probably get mad if i ignore them. i still think its stupid but i think you two really helped me to cope with the anger a lot and if it doesnt trigger me to beginn with my impulse issius cant jump start.

Because trash talk and banter are healthy byproducts of competition within reason.
I am not comfortable with people I don't know accessing my steam profile and making fun of me for my identity, so I utilize the anon mode feature so I can be comfortable playing.
I didn't ask for profile viewing to be universally banned, I used the resources available to me to resolve my personal issue. And this is my point entirely.
The devs have a responsibility to prevent bigotry and hate-related violence from being widespread in their game and community.
But the players have a responsibility to curate their game experience to tailor to their needs.
The devs are upholding their part of the bargain, so it's entirely on the people affected by losing and bagging to help themselves with what is available to them.
mhh is that so? i never viewed it as something that can be healthy. i mostly thought its people that are bad at either loosing or winning like the guys that need to talk for a week about how they are such a great poker player cause they won your friends game on the weekend

It's a game , I won't allow these people to bring me down but I'm not young either I've had my whole life to get thick skin before this game came out, when I was younger I may have reacted different idk, but I'm a hippie at heart I could have someone be totally trash to me in game and I'd still be nice or even team up with them afterwards and become friends if they wanted, if someone ever bother me enough to feel a bad way about it I would just turn the game off and do something else but that hasn't happened to me yet, I get more frustrated at myself than other people sometimes
certainly something to stive for.
i struggle with that partly cause my brain is just wired like that but thats no excuse i know that. but atleast i got rid of the ba habbit to engage in chat that was a big problem as a teen/ young adult. my temper got a bit better the closer i came to the big 30.

you know i play online games now for most of my life but to this day i never met someone that could give me a good arguemtn why its so important for so many players to act like a jerk to there oponent when they had a fair fight sore winner or what?

Well considering I play killer more than survivor I see alot more than I do myself, and ya know what? I do t bag at the gate and I can handle other people t bagging me because I'm not an emotionally unstable child I'm an adult like the creators of this game intended to play , what's worse? A guy having fun in a video game ? Or someone who can't handle a bunch of pixels on a monitor moving up and down ?
okey but then every form of bm gets a free pass right?

If they create a point system your matches will only skyrocket in camping, tunneling and slugging. We need to address why they feel the need to run 4 slowdowns. I use zero slowdowns myself and I win very often until I reach red rank 1. Then I start losing far more often. Survivors need other objectives on top of gens so we don’t have to keep increasing gen times. That’s why I liked Ruin Undying because the killer would really run any other slowdowns mainly info. But now that that meta has been gutted it’s been a 4 slowdown meta instead of 2.
Yeah but two things can be true at the same time. We can face the problem combos of perks can have when they work to good together without nerfing the perks with a point system and attack the reasons why killer tunnel and slug.
But let's be honest even if we had more then enough time and we would not loose two to tree gens in the first vhase there is still a big part that would still Tunnel. Bhvr should finally use a hammer and get rid of tunneling once and for all

Oooh you were missing a comma... I thought that was part of the stuff about plague...
I mean with Billy you can still backrev fairly easily or even hit cross maps.
As Blight you can use two or three dashes to hit people without training much.
I dont think they are that different.
Yeah well like I said it's probably a me problem.
I'm not good with those abilities and I have a really hard time getting any better with them. Same goes for range killer but it's not as bad with them as with the dash abilities
And well it can't hurt to wish for a killer that is not like that

With the movement abilities? What exactly do you mean?
Like Billy or wesker or Blight these dash movement type abilities.

Ehm... How is that any different from what I said before about Killers like Billy and Blight xD
Because I see a big difference between the abilities. When you are new to plague you can still infect them with the movement abilities its just hitting objects 90% of the time until you got better.
Maybe I just don't want another dash or range killer next cause I'm not good with them

It's not the same at all though. As killer you have the agency to direct your camera towards the gate with your input device of choice, then pressing W or tilting the left stick forwards to make the survivors stop wasting your time. Last I checked survivors can't crawl to a hook and hook themselves.
I totally agree both are wastes of time that should have shortcuts to bypass them mechanically (button in the basement to eject all survivors in any state that isn't sacrificed, mori'd or bled out already + some way for survivors to hook themselves with no chance to kobe or be saved- both end game only and in NO way useful as kill-securing or play-setup tools of course). But acting like they're directly compareable when one gives the opposing player the agency to end it and the other doesn't just isn't it.
"But they'll tbag at the gate!" okay, cool. EGC is a thing and the unstoppable timer putting a hard cap on match length will put an end to it. It's even shorter than a full bleedout too!
Yep there absolutly should be a bleed out button and a throw them out button. Letting survs bleed out for fun is vile and no one can defend it.
I hate that the most common answer to killers is that they should push them out. That's the one thing they want you to do and the sole reason why they stick around So thanks for acknowledging that both is stupid
