Not to mention the filters make the game look ugly af. Playing like that to have a 1 up over my opponent in a game with no reward for victory except sweatier matches and a few extra blood points.

    I dont see the hype.

And that from a automatron that most definitely has his own subroutines running in the back to gain advantage

If the developers of a game allow something then it really isn't cheating. That's taking the definition too literally and not allowing any room for pragmatism.

    This.

CCause If we only look at the definition then using ts is cheating to

A: Hex Park is too powerful, so we must prepare countermeasures.

This perception has been going on for years, so their countermeasure is to create totems where everyone can see them.

Yeah anda that the biggest joke ever

  • @supersonic853 said:

You can just report them. That's not a map offering issue. I agree they need to be removed. Just because people find the most annoying maps to spam for a whole day. They fill the bloodweb unnecessarily. And they can be used to spam bugged maps.

    you can "just" report them.

aka play untill you realise what they do and then tab out search for an recording program download that install it set it up and then record atleast what was it? 5 or 10 minutes of the gameplay.

    yeah just report them sure

  • yeah hex perks are dead and they will probably never be worth using. it doesnt even matter how strong the perk is if your killer has no reliable way to protect the totem the perk could let you insta mori every surv on first down and it would still be bad cause its gone in 9/10 games before you can down a surv

It's because cheating has become so wide spread that because of a lot of them using anon mode you have to dodge nearly every anon mode you see whether they were a cheater or not.

but that still makes absolutly no diffrence. anon mode does not shield the cheaters from being reported and i dont believe there are more cheater with anon mode then there are without cause those dudes dont care they are currently on there 30. burner epic acc and if they get banned they switch to number 31. so i dont think they would even care to use anon mode.

but what is a crazy thing is that still today there are a bunch of people that believe anon mode makes reports impossible everytime the topic comes up

  • @Brimp said:

Yeah i get the pure intentions of BHVR adding anon mode but several people just hide behind it to be toxic or worse yet… cheaters.

but there is nothing to hide. what does it change if you know the user name of a toxic #########/cheater?

you can report them all the same. the only diffrence is that you cant pinpoint your anger at that one specific person but a namless faceless thing

Old Undying was fine and totems being relevant made the game more interesting.

    Basement isn't that dangerous.

Opening chests isn't that bad and can be situationally worth it.

Killer is strong enough that gens can go back to 80 seconds.

Does your last statement apply to every killer? And do you have them in mind with full meta build or without

from your core changes, this basically only one I would use:

*While in Feral Frenzy, The Legion can interact with the environment without losing power gauge. (Vaulting, Kicking, Snuffing Boons, Opening Lockers,Exit Gates, etc)

Otherwise it's either useless, or overkill.

Legion is one of my main killers and I don't really want BHVR to touch them in any way other than creating more skins… I am completely fine with their current state, even addons.

There is several other killers, that need attention more, even at risk of getting screwed.

the only thing that i want is for them to give me back thana. then im 100% fine with the way legion is

  • do you have any valid way to proof that or is that just an empty statement mend to start an us vs them

  • i will never get over the fact that ruin got nerfed even so hex perks are a absolute gamble and often the survs see your totem the second they spawn

  • sure why not. or is anyone able to give an actuall argument why this would be bad?

  • i absolutly think without dc penalitys the gamw would be unplayable. there would be maybe 1 in 10 games that gets played to the end without anyone leaving.

thing i have seen atleast one surv dc recently.

    • legion & plague
    • i run full anti pallet build. got told its not fun
    • full slowdown build. also not fun
    • lightborn
    • using my eyes to see the survivor very obviously trying to pallet safe

Why exactly would you want to buff a killer that is as simple and easy to learn/master up to A tier? A killers strenght should be somewhat equivalent to how hard he is to learn/play properly... Legion is one of the easiest killers in the game, with very little depth, why on earth should be as strong as killers that need time put into learning their abilites? Besides that with all those changes he not only stays as annoying as he is to play against, he becomes even more annoying... Just no.

i will nerver understand that. why do characters that are simpler to learn need to be leagues worse then difficult characters?

and dont say that there is no reason to play the difficult ones then. dbd has no ranked there is no competiton you play a killer cause you think that killer is fun. there will always be players that like to play stuff that is more difficult and so will there be players that like the simple stuff. yes a difficult character has all rights to be a bit stronger if you master it but every character should be on a baseline when it comes to balance.

there should not be diffrence between the killers that is so big that we can group some of them all the way down to f tier. why cant all killers be c+ to b tier? end then let blight and nurse level of difficult be a tier. still a whole tier higher then the rest but no killer is worthless

    Mine would be:

Gens…… There Spawns are trash, Progression Vs. regression is laughable (basekit BTW)… them taking 90 seconds is not good for the game as a whole I would say that 80 is better but to do that they would need to look at progression Vs. regression

Maps…. they have lost touch a long time ago… Pallet spawns are weird… Loop spawns are confusing… deadzones are way to big

Killers…. either having Mobility or not can decide the match…

Survivors…. having 4 of you should mean something but it doesn't (SoloQ)

Perks…. having a "meta" is stupid…. having so many perks in the game but seeing players using 4-8 of them is wrong

Addons…. too many of them aren't as good as they may seem (look at Pig)

Items… more so there usage…. why would Survivor waste their Items at the beginning of the match they have the advantage

MMR…. doesn't work and shouldn't be a thing… if you want to bet better then put in the work if you don't are then don't

when it comes to gen times i dont think they can ever do it right. doing a gen for 90 sec is not fun most people would probably say chases are fun but chases are not the way the survs win they need the gens getting done. if we make gens faster chases have to be shorter that way survs would loose what they find fun to also loose what is lame.

and we are just talking basekit here. i think gens should not be affected by any perks for either side cause that makes balancing the times of gens and chases even more stupid especially since perks are not something everyone just has

  • Okey but since we are pretty nice dudes now and try to help the losing side we also implement changes like this to help the killer should all survivors be alive when the gens are done right?

Things like the gate csnt be 99 anymore and ofcourse the more survs are alive the longer the gates need to open stuff like that

  • @Ohyakno said:

Using them aggressively is survivor agency. They make the decision to do it and take the hook state after. It's often strategic.

I have no problem with players doing stuff like this. The more choices you eliminate the simpler and less engaging you make the game. At a certain point everyone only has one option and at that juncture you may as well just have bots playing bots.

yeah but you cant denie that people are gonna use ds that way and then come to the forum and complain that killers are still toxic tunnerlers

  • i could not care less if you use ds as a weapon. pls jump into me stand in a door and force me to hit you but dont you dare to go in chat or the forum and whine like a little kid that the mean killer tunneld you or camped your butt when you where slugged for four minutes

I don't think removing every survivor option in chase via perks is a good idea. It would also just be broken on clown or any killer where the main counterplay is buying distance by dropping early/playing dropped pallets.

I would say it would be nice to have better chase perks maybe then not every killer runs 4 slowdown.

I hate slowdown perks i really only use thana when i play legion but most chase perks are just not good especially on akiller that has no chase power

DBD is not a competitive game, or at least not to the level of facing each other face to face and avoid this kind of things, like having one player with a croshair and another one with an insane streached resolution. Everyone playing from home can modify the game in various ways to gain advantages and there is no way to avoid it as long as it is not detected by the game's anticheat, but obviously that doesn't mean it's ok.

But i thought its not possible to ban stuff like that cause they dont touch the game itself but only the video signal that gets produced

Wasn't that something they were going to test in a PTB? I wouldn't mind that as much if certain criteria had to be met. But the offerings are gone once the game is over which puts pressure on the Killer not to waste it.

yeah they tested it but it wasnt good since they wanted it to be a finisher kinda deal where it auto playd the second every living surv was down and without a way to get up again so it turned into a how fast can i slug game cause that naturally was the best and fastest way to win.

they should just make it basekit that you can mori a survivor when he is on death hook. the surv would die anyway so nothing changes exept the killer can get the animation and technically they could avoid a safe with it but they also loose out on any perks that realte to hooking wich should be fair

Ah, I see your point now, thank you.

The playstyle you are talking about I do not mind (hooking) because it is a valid, although slightly annoying way to win the match.

The Mori offering players that I used to go against, just wanted the thrill of watching the stupid animation and after a while I said enough was enough.

If you are literally queuing up just to throw a game to watch a mori, I'm not interested in playing.

The mori offerings are essentially a red flag that the Killer will tunnel but my experience became much worse after AFC was introduced as they could camp you without having to rely on another Survivor unhooking you.

At first, I would just hang there and let my teammates do gens and let go right after they finished but it just started happening so much that I decided to close and restart the game to avoid it.

I despise the Mori offering so much that I have never used one ever as Killer in 4 years.

And during the anniversary events?! When I saw a secret Killer offering, I would always DC at offering screen! Even before AFC Mori issue.

its sad that you have this expirience with moris. as a killer main i love them they just hit diffrent then just hooking a survivor the third time. and i personally think the two perks that allow me to mori are just not good. moris should just be a basekit thing the killer can do if they want to

  • yep there are a bunch of killers that certainly are to strong those should be nerfed but thats not all killers and we have more then enough who could use a buff

  • i agree on all your points except the first one.

i think we have a bunch of killers that are to strong and that the ones you mainly see but there is big part of killers that are not strong and they get even weaker when you dont want or dont can play the meta perks.

my take would be that the hatch is a old stupid mechanik that for no reason gives one survivor a way to escape even when there team failed to do there job. killers dont get something like that. just immagine if the killer could have a luck mechanic that if he stumble over a random spawn first one surv just gets sacreficed

  • its a up and down for me some days i am fed up but then its to fun to be the monster for once and we have so many cool killers and since we have the xenomorph i only need three killer to be forever happy. pennywise, a giant spider and hans with his flammenwerfer.

for real tho give me a german ww2 soldier with a flamethrower.. i need it

I've always felt like a limited blocklist could work. Like everyone has 5 people they can block. If you want to add another person to a full list then you need to remove someone already on there. So it'd be a very slim chance of someone feeling the effects of that, unless you were a super horrible person that everyone hated playing with.

That could work but it also could go very wrong.

What if you are a really good playand that fact alone puts you on peoples Hitliste? I can already see the reddit pages dedicated to making lists of players you should bloxk based on region and presummed mmr.

And how exactly does it even work is it all 5 for every survivor? Thats 20 players blocked. Where i live you always have super short killer qs the later it gets. So there are already not enough killers. And then we need to look at swf they would have a potent tool to manipulate there qs

  • @FreddyVoorhees said:

Maybe an internal command where you can post notes for every killer and the player that are local and only you can see them ?

That way you will know if you played with someone and what they did before. This can also be used for good things.

-name- "face camped, slugged the last one for no reason"

-name- "stomped us but let 2 out"

    -name-"went back to save me"

i mean maybe for other surviro but that cant work for killers. what hinders you to note what killers they play. if you face the same killer enough you see they only play the same three killers you can note that and counter the killer or just dodge

It still doesnt even do that very well. I cant count how many times i watch killers pass 3-4 hooks to get them to hook they want. Even with hits and Sabos wiggling is a pointless feature that doesn't even do its alleged job of not letting kills walk the map with a survivor.

but lets be honest do you think it would be good if wiggeling would be even a some what reliable way to escape the killer?

even if we say wiggle should get you free when another survivor takes a hit and sabos a hook do you know how frustrating being a killer would turn? you could pretty much go afk when you face a swf

  • @ReMixeurOfficiel said:

First of all for Killer :

It is really frustration when a killer quit. Sure you get your BloodPoints, but you usually don't get as much as if you would escape (7,000 this is pretty huge), and you are likely to not pip, and waiting in a queue, play 10 minutes all that for the Killer quiting because of Sprint Burst, this just feels wasted time…

    Secondly for Survivor :

Bots are really not great. REALLY. When you understand bots' functionning, you can down them in 15 seconds. They don't come for unhooks if they hear Killer's Terror Radius, same for Generators fixing. Bots aren't the solution, just something better than 3v1.

Now imagine what the game would be like if each Killer would quit every time 2 Generators pop before their first down, and if Survivors would quit each time you get 2 downs before the first Generator pop… This would be nightmare, as Killer you would either leave the game, or play against bot, and for Survivor you would just never play more than 5 minutes…

this! killer games would turn into a pve game and survs would just not play att all

  • @Dustin said:

I agree killers shouldn't be able to see survivor names or even prestiges - it causes too much lobby shopping or even cases where the killer looks for a public profile to see who has the lowest hours to tunnel that player.

being able to look at other profiles actually was why i took my first break from this game.

i learned from i dont know where that you should inspect the survs to spot potential hackers and all i learned was that the game consistenly threw survivro at me that had like 5-8k hours when i was at maybe 200. i was already frustrated before but that was what pushed me over the edge.

maybe pregame lobby should just go but then killer would also loose the ability to prepare for items wich i think is a good thing

I only now the PC-experience, but I also have noticed in one game that high Ping is also increasing the strafing. At least I had one game where the Survivor was on 600 Ping once (I dont think they did it intentionally, since it only happened once and not all the time they were picked up) and I unable to really move since I got strafed into a corner and did not get out of it.

When it comes to Boil Over in particular - this Perk deserves a full Rework. It is super-weak when just used nornally and annoying when used with a specific Build. They should just rework into a Perk which is worth taking and cannot be used in one particular build to be annoying.

i only play pc myself but what i have heard and seen from buddys and streamer that play on console when boilover was use much more often every indoor map was a automatic loose

You dont understand OP. They are talking about the effect that wiggling is supposed to make the Killer strafe sideways when you hit the Great Skill Checks while wiggling.

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Wiggle#Succeeding_Skill_Checks

I dont know why there is even a negative effect for hitting the Good Skill Checks, but BHVR-things I guess.

    @Topic:

As others have said, wiggling is only supposed to make sure that the Killer cannot get to any Hook they like. And while you think it feels like they still reach any hook they want, this is just not the case. If there would be no wiggling, they could travel way further with you on their shoulder and reach a Scourge Hook (for example) 100% of the time. The Killer will most likely still get to a Scourge Hook with wiggling, but it might be possible that they dont. And this possibility (of not reaching the Hook they want) is at least there with wiggling.

    Furthermore, look at the numbers:

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Wiggle#Succeeding_Skill_Checks

Good Skill Checks reduce the side strafing effect to 50% and Great only increase it to 120%, making it 20% stronger than Base. That is not much so you should not really expect a big effect from it. If you want a big effect for wiggling, you have to run Boil Over (but dont, the Perk is bad).

For why this is even a thing - back in the day wiggling was not done via Skill Checks but via messhing two buttons (on PC) and I think on Controller it was using the stick very fast. This was changed at some point since it was an annoying mechanic to do and also was not really good on the hardware, at least on console. So they added Skill Checks, including a Great Skill Check-Zone. First this achieved that you can wiggle off a bit faster if you hit the Great Skill Check (1 second total if you hit all of them), but they changed it to the side strafe-effect being stronger or weaker. (In the end even wiggling off faster was totally fine and nearly nobody complained about it, but they still felt like changing it)

So yeah, just see BPs as the main reason to hit Great Skill Checks. The side strafing-effects are not worth it. And in the end, wiggling is only supposed to limit the decision making of the Killer a bit and NOT to make you wiggle free on a regular basis.

Id like to add to this.

The whole strafing thing is overall a lost cause. In pc you barley notice if someone uses boilover and it ever only is a problem on maps like rpd. But the stronger strafing from boilover shows that this whole mechanic works mich better against console players wich makes it so bhvr cant really touch it or thise people get effected more. (Maybe thats ehy boilover is a bad perk now)

  • Ehh the hatch is a wierd thing and im still not sure if it would be better if it does not exist.

Sure it is mile better then before where survs could basically ignore the gens and play for hatch with a key and yes its pretty unlikely that the last survivor will finish two gensbut i even when i still played survivor i always thought getting out that way feels kinda cheap.

Imagine if the killer had a similar mechanic where he could find a orb and if he finds it before the survivors escape or find it first one surv just gets sacrificed

I'm not an audio engineer myself, but I do actually work with some truly exceptional audio engineers, and have learned enough to know how little I know. I am mostly regurgitating information I've gotten from them here, but just to debunk some misconceptions, turning up audio is definitely not as simple as "opening the file in audacity and turning up the volume".

To change the volume you can try to raise or lower the gain a small amount and avoid any distortion, but it isn't a guarantee, and the further you push it, the more likely/more severe the distortion you can get. Even small adjustments can screw up the waveform.

You can try to normalise the signal by finding the maximum(or minimum) absolute sample in the waveform and then scale the whole waveform so that those limits value hit the dBFS (decibels relative to full scale) ceiling/floor of the system to avoid distortion, but even then it can create a result that doesn't sound right or butchers certain frequencies.

I imagine this is likely the issue BHVR hit, and sadly the true best way to fix it is to record it again but louder. You can try and correct it with software, but there is only so much you can do.

Edit: Ofc in this brave new world of AI, it might be possible to create an AI that can basically record a new version by basically impersonating the survivor... but you'd need to teach it somehow.

Wow okey. I really thout its simple.

Like there is the file for jeff grunting in pain and they lower the sou d of that file. But that sounds pretty complicated.

That makes it even worse that they did not think about making every survivor equal in terms of noise when sound is a balance fsctor in there game

I believe Having less players should results in faster matchmaking, at least that's what it is for killers

i think thats because if they need killers and i press play they can throw me in the first lobby that roughly fits but if they need survs they need four so maybe when you q there are plenty lobbys with one opening but maybe sometimes there are multiple open places left in each q and they cant just smush then together cause they atleast act like they care about mmr

  • @Mooks said:

I am pretty sure I read an official statement that they tried to do it but it was harder than they anticipated. Dont know if they dropped it altogether or just postponed it indefinitely..

I would guess sounds in this game are already very prone to being buggy and just running them through some software would result in some unwanted sounds and they also need approval for all the licensed characters…

As to those phantom skillchecks… yeah annoying but they are kinda a feature currently and you should always be aware that letting go of a gen has a chance of notifying the killer. And regressing the gen.

but what is there even to do when it comes to how loud /not loud some survivor are. sure im no game dev but im convinced it cant be that hard to up the/down the volume on some sounds

  • @The_Krapper said:

I don't see how this is an argument, yes it's cheating and in my opinion it should be bannable but the devs don't see it that way unfortunately

I mean for a short time a certain MMO was doing a game-branded promotion with Razr who makes computer mice with all kinds of macro features, but then they started banning players who used those very game-branded mice's macro features, as the game does not allow the use of macros. Of course, this caused a huge uproar in the community, and so they ended the partnership with Razr. So technically BHVR COULD technically crack down on those using equalizers just as they could crack down on those using Discord, but that's a can of worms they don't want to open as other companies have done so in the past, and it didn't go well for them.

they actually could not crack down on those programms.

since the program itself does not touch the game or its files but just the audio/video that the game produces there is no wayfor bhvr to even know you use a program. only if they would track every single program that runs on your pc while you play dbd they could do that and i dont know i that would be legal but im pretty sure most gamers would not tollerate that. and lets not forget you can get the same effect with hardware and what will bhvr do then? put a worker in your room while you play ^^

Your high-contrast monitor doesn't change the colors to make key elements easier to see, or see through walls.

Your mouse only allows you to turn faster with less hand travel, it doesn't point you in the direction of a target.

Headphones only isolate your from the ambient noise.

So no, none of these thing corrupt the information from the game : they aren't cheating.

A software that modifies selectively the sound on another hand is cheating, plain and simple.

but it has one thing in common with the stuff he listed.

it cant be traced at all since it does not interact with the game but with the audio that your pc produces while playing

  • as a forsaken ofcourse i need a banshee but i also would really like a giant spider just not the way you described it. leave the human part and just give me a big ass spider. kinda like eight legged freaks (if anyone even remembers that movie ^^)

Gehört ins Spiel? 😄😄 was? Also wenn du so Fairplay spielst, dann gute Nacht, Kollege.

dont really got a perk combo in mind that i hate going against but i kinda dislike how committed some survivors are to taunting you. Example ill get smack by a god pallet and they won't even run immediately. They just sit there and stare at you.... like "hey stupid how u get stun there lol". Same thing when u swing at window and miss! they run right back up to the window and just look at you. Sometimes shaking there heads which admittedly can be funny. Fast vaulting windows/pallets repeatedly after u had to drop chase. Don't get me started on flashlight clickers! I get it you really want to proc that DS but leave me alone please

I love when survivors vault spam and click and run up to you because they want to be chased so bad.

I never chase those guys cause chances are if they want to be chased they know what they do so I rather take chase with someone that don't.

Those guys often get super mad in chat when I don't chase then until everyone else is dead

  • I mean on one hand it is a third party software andyou absolutly get an advantage from it that is the definition of creating.

On the other hand the same technically goes for Swf using voice chat. Yeah teamspeak is allowed thats the difference but on paper it's the same.

In the end I believe it's impossible for bhvr to even do anything about it. I don't think they can just controll what other programms are running on your computer and that's what they would need to do since the program isn't interacting with dbd like an aim bot or wall hack would.

The whole thing is super difficult to deal with and i gues it will only become worse in the next few years. I don't remember when I saw it but I once saw a guy working on a ai program that was able to identify your enemy and highlight them.

True, it also depends if they go the route of old Asatru or Neo-Asatru. We do not have a lot of solid information on Old Asatru, especially given most texts and sagas related to those times were written quite a few centuries after.

That's true but I think everything related to still used religion should be approached carefully. Even if they go with more old norse stuff the new pagans aren't that far from that especially when it comes to the gods.

It's probably best to avoid religion at all. You can make a pretty good viking killer without bringing in religion into it if you focus more on the warrior aspects

Hmmm… I'm not sure auto aim hits happen enough that it would be a problem. Most of the time when it happens is when a survivor is trying to unhook anyway… and this WOULD be a pretty decent mechanism to at least discourage hitting a survivor on hook. Realistiically I don't think it'd make a difference, you're still probably not get the unhook becuase of this… but what it would do, is psychologically make a survivor less upset about being hit on hook… it would make a purely negative thing a potetnially good thing… which would be a positive for the experience.

@DrHyk - For the second part, there is a good reason why this mechanism exists, and was a major factor in the design on the AFC. Just so you are aware, the reason this happens is this is not the first time BHVR have tried to make a system like this. In previous iterations of the AFC, good survivors would abuse the mechanic and deliberately/constantly run towards the hook and force the killer to have to run by the hook to chase them and it would build up the anti-camp mechanism or drop chase to avoid building the anti camp system.

You can basically put the killer in a catch 22, where they need to go under hook to chase you, but they can't chase you without building the AFC, and if the killer takes too long downing the other survivor, then the hooked survivor gets a free unhook… the killer is punished for not camping…

So I'm afraid thats a no my guy, that pause when orther survivors are running under it is a very important mechanic that can't be removed.

while i do think its bm when a killer is hitting a hooked survivor multiple times could we also lower the freaking scream some survivor do when hooked? its so loud it hurts. i started to hit them cause that cancels the scream but i didnt wanted to be seen as a bully so i actually made myself a mute shortcut so i just mute the game for a hook

Idk how screen filters could be controlled, I don’t think they can. But I do think that they are considered cheating. I mean they make the red stain easier to see and the maps brighter so it is easier to see Survivors that hide.

this. there is no way to even controll filters cause they dont really touch the game. they change how your pc is showing you the game. i actually think they could see it but that would mean they need to watch everything that your pc runs while it runs dbd and that would probably be something most people would quit over since its a massive risk. and then there is monitors that have setting of there own that cant be detected no matter what. even my fairly old monitor comes with pretty good pre sets for games

Jokes aside, he's been the only killer that has had his power straight up removed from the game, only because the community didn't know how to play a macro heavy killer.

to this day im super sad. freddy was the first killer i bought but i never saw og freddy since i came just after they changed him

  • @Sngfun said:

Freddy needs to go back to being an actual interesting killer and not a bad amalgamation of other killer powers.

@GeneralV 's rework idea's the best in my opinion.

Dredge and Knight are just as sluggish as twins.

at this piont bhvr really needs to involve the @GeneralV in the rework of freddy. he is THE freddy main everyone that is longer then a week in the forum knows

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 35
