Then you don't have to play it.
How many times does this need to be said? 🤦♂️
The queue times for regular DbD are through the roof right now. I literally cannot play either mode without an unreasonable wait. Your "fun" is coming at the expense of the base game. Y'know, the thing that people have played DbD for for 8 years now. The thing we all bought the game for.
okey so your quetine us coming at the expense of our fun. bhvr needs to find a solid middle ground for both of us to have fun and not to long que times
-
i hope they dropped them. they never brought any fun into the game all you do is learn wich walls are worth breaking and wich you should ignore and then its just a time consuming prep you have to do every time you load into a certain map

Maybe, but that's not really the whole picture.
In theory, all of these modes have the same ratio of 1 killer to 4 survivors, and with MMR turned off in 2v8, it shouldn't really matter which queue people are in unless people are also switching roles.
Which is the real problem with 2v8: you have survivors switching to play kwf instead in droves, which is why the ratio is broken in both have modes right now.
thats even what one of the devs said in another post
-
I would play it more if there was a single killer I actually like to play as.
-
the mode is fun so far but i have one important massage for my fellow killer players.
when we are at the gate and you land a hit and downs someone and that surv does not just fall out the gate get your sorry but that is stuck in the weapon whipe animation away so your partner can hook that guy before he can escape! pretty pls no one wins anything when the surv escapes

Sticks and stones my friend. I am not going to censor my own language on the matter.
Anyway that's beside the point, there are some really cool, brutal things that they could do with a viking killer in this game. Personally, I still want a dual axe berserker type killer, or even dip into the realm of the Ulfhednar, the wolf berserkers.Yeah that aside a dual axe bersekrr would be pretty dope i would like something like that too

We do have a similar mechanic that is working in favor of Killer. The anti-facecamp bar disables in endgame. (Also I have recommended a lesser version of NOED in endgame if you reach endgame with no kills.)
To address your 2nd point, it wouldn't be comparable for a double hook state on the first gen. The Survivors don't get multiple gens until they are fully dead AND leave the lobby. It would be more comparable to have hooks instakill in endgame (regardless of hook state), which I wouldn't strictly be opposed to (if there was some form of basekit UB to disincentivize slugging).
I would say hook states are comparable to gens being done. Both are the respective teams way to end the game and no one can do anything about it when it happned.

As a member of the old norse pagan community, I admire the savagery of my ancestors. Plus denying the acts of savagery committed by a people is an insult to history. You don't have to approve of it, but it happened. I respect the brutality because it was typical of the times they lived in, it was the norm. You can't apply modern standards to the past. Different times and all that.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3766167#Comment_3766167
That's what I was thinking it should be, some sort of Draugr would be sick.
What I want to say is i would not call it savage sure they where brutal warriors but not savages. They where well trained people that had incredible knowledge where it buildings medicine or there ships i would not call that savages and i would like to avoid that word because it is mostly used in a negative light when the christian world tslks about the vinings even so they where just as brutal a

Uh, we don't do anything because there isn't an issue?
Even High MMR 4-man SWF's escape less than 50% of the time. Solo Q High MMR is sitting around 43%, which means that there's a 5% difference between the two of them.
In every other bracket, SWF offers no significant advantage.
Therefore, I would say we should not punish people for playing with their friends. We get it, some people can't accept a loss and they have to blame it on something other than the fact that it was their own fault, but jeez.
While i too think they should do nothing against swf i cant believe the numbers for one reason. Bhvr has no way to factor in the tons of games where the players goof off and basicly throw because they are in an swf. There is footage for weeks to watch of funny compilation that show how they block each other and stuff like that

A gamebreaking bug fixing a design flaw that has plagued the game from the onset is even more hilarious and on brand for BHVR.
The problem is no one would be okey with this if it was reverse.
If a vug made a comeback mechanic for the killer where the survs loose two hook states when there gets a gen done before the killer can hook no one would want that as a feature to pace the game better
-
@WhoSoup said:
The generator bug has made solo queue a lot more interesting and, to be honest, enjoyable as survivor. It feels really nice to still have a way of coming back in a game after a teammate gets hard tunneled out early. Anti tunnel mechanics have always been a highly requested feature and this bug feels like it is one.
I would very much like to see a feature similar to this implemented officially, something that seriously deters killers from hard tunneling someone out of the game early because the repercussions are actually tangible.
and do killers get a come back system too? if the gens get way to fast and chases take way to long some survs just hang themselfs?
-
i would love a viking killer there are many interesting concept bhvr could do since vikings had a very broad range of diffrent fighting styles.
but i think its super important that if they make a viking killer they dont try to link him to the nordic religion since we still have a growing community of old norse pagans and they avoided relegios themes with the samurai and the knight.
and i would like to say one thing to your describtion of vikings. while they where certainly brutal and brought fear into christian europe i would not call them savage killers. not that i think that you think they where savages but thats what many people think so we should avoid such describtions

Dont unhook someone 2 seconds after the killer leaves. I know you can’t control that but this should be standard for everyone because I will guaranteed come back immediately if you can’t wait for me to leave.
On the same hand, don’t unhook too late either. If there is 10 seconds left on the timer you can be sure I’ll be there to try and secure stage 2.
Don’t body block for a healthy unhooker. Sometimes I’ll return to unhook if I can’t find anyone and go after the unhooker.
If I am losing then there is nothing that can be done. I want to win and will do what it takes. I have been in situations where I am losing bad and ended up slugging the whole team and winning. If you are toxic then there is also nothing that can be done to stop me from being there for your unhook.
"Don’t body block for a healthy unhooker. Sometimes I’ll return to unhook if I can’t find anyone and go after the unhooker."
THIS. if i come back to the hook cause i could not find someone else and you jump into me to tank a hit you have given up on all coplain rights you wanted to be tunneld.
on a second note if you unhook and you hear the killer comming try to be more visual then the unhooked player. if i can go after the unhooker i will do that since i dont like tunneling but if i have only scratchmakrs to follow its a dice roll and i wont ignore the unhooked guy just cause fortuna was against him
-
i mean in theory it sounds like something that could be done to detere tuneling but hell no you wont get a free gen just cause randy mcleaver didnt liked the map or the killer or that he was found first and decidet to leave

I enjoy enduring with the addon the recover power if stunned.
Funny how many survivors don't expect me to just immediately go for swing under pallet, then get instadowned and often DC.
Overall enduring lets me not respect any pallet.
i had survs outright telling me they report me cause they think its unfair that i take away any pallet interaction from them. and that im not fun cause i just brute force pallets instead of dancing with them around a pallet until they drop it and run to the next
-
@VomitMommy said:
If I would consider myself any killer "main", then it would be probably Legion.
Legion is definitely weaker than Plague, because Plague is quite strong killer imo.
But they are not same and Legion is not as weak as some try to claim.
Legion is solid killer until you get a team, where mending survivors go for bodyblocking. That's pain to play against, but it is really rare to see, or they are bad at it...
You definitely need to use some chase perks to help you get downs. My favorite is Spirit Fury and Enduring.
Enduring overall is an amazing perk on Legion, because it gives good chance for instadowns.
a chase build is really great on legion. lately i runa full screw your pallets build with spirit fury enduring brutal and that addon that destroyes palltes when you vault them. its not uber strong but fun to use and often survs get pretty frustrated that pallets are just not a thing against you

-
nah buddy that spot is absolutly not problematic and you especially deserve to be hit at every vault for that stupid crouch spamming.
its a come get me gesture and thats what the killer did so stop crying
-
just be honest to us and yourself. you want the penality to be gone so you can dc when ever why ever you want. probably most of your dcs would happen because "issert perk/killer/ability" is "not fair" and ofcourse what is and isnt fair get determent by you cause you know how it should be. and ofcourse you would leave the second something is not fun (for you)

the only motivation for playing the game is fun and if the game isn’t fun in areas people will dc it’s that’s simple. There is nothing to work towards and the small stuff that is, is all paywalled so the main majority of players will play for fun. And when the games got copious amount of issues from bad map design, bad killer design, bad perk design, broken jank and bhvr’s seemingly lack of what knowing what to do with the game is showing. The dc penalty does nothing, there are loopholes and you can’t force someone who legitimately wants to leave to stay. Considering nothing is lost now when a match ends with the removal of pip removal it serves no purpose but to make the experience worse on top of the other factors
yeah but you know what is not fun? loosing. thats just a fact and i know there are people who claim they dont care if they win or if they loose as long as its fun but that is not the majority of the poeple.
what i discribet will 100% happen without dc penality and we have already seen this. every time the penality was off in the past people just left the game for whatever reason they liked.
-
im pretty sure without the penality the game would slowly die.
why should anyone play a game to the end? you say yourself bp are not a motivation so why should i ever keep playing a round where i am about to loose? and if i am winning that means the other side is loosing so they will just dc.
the majority of the matches would just end in a dc the second one side beginns to loose.
kinda remindes me how yugioh is played today. whoever fails to get his combo out looses so you end the match right there to not waste time

Trickster and chucky both not gameplay wise but style wise

Yeah I've noticed this change in attitude a lot when someone is on death hook, even when they aren't being tunnelled. Just like how someone with Dead Hard plays super aggressive and greedy, but as soon as it's used they pre-drop everything. Once they are in danger they realise they should start playing safer.
My favourite "semi-tunnelling" thing (which isn't really tunnelling) is when I want to chase the unhooker so I act like I'm going to tunnel so that the unhooker will play less safe to protect them even though I was always planning on going for them in the first place.
yeah i love that.
you either come here and let me hit you or your friend unfortunatly goes on the hook again

it’s because of legal reasons in some specific states as far as I know.
it’s kinda weird for a game that’s basically a slasher horror movie turned into a game as most slasher movies have teens between 16-18 as victims..
YYeah I think its especially strange in dbd but i never understood whey there is such a drama in general.
As an example fallout was so strange. You littraly use a nuke to vaporise a whole cuty full of people but then the three kids of that town magicly survive that . Its not even me attacking them directly ^^

They cannot "just age her up". This would only work if the license holder is fine with that. If they are, sure, possible. If they are not, 100% impossible to bring her into the game.
Couldn't bhvr just make a blanked statement in the start screen saying "all characters portrait are atlest 18 years old" and thats it? I mean they woulndt even need to change the character. A 16 year old and an 18 year old look just the same.
When i started to play i was under the impression feng is still a teen.
But to be honest i dont get why people even make such a fuzz about kids being hurt or killed in games

well.. I don’t think it’s that easy in the case of Doctors hallucinations. They are directly gameplay relevant after all and you can’t really replace them with something neutral as those would still be hallucinations, no? At least they have taken out these overlay flashes of doctors face..
also, MANY people in this community are heavily against accessibility options like this that wouldn’t affect them or others. Dont ask me why, I have asked for these kinda features for years..Because they think it is very important for the game that its "scary" or in case of plague disgusting for everyone.
I am invested in those discussion every time cause i thinks its super important to make those accessibility options but keeping the spirit of the game and not make something stupid like satisfactory does with the spiders.
Every time this topics is on the table people act like people suffering from phobias is a important part of the game. I have seen people even argue its part of the balance that people cant concentrate while facing certaint killer because of phobias
-
@moputopia said:
Sadly, there isn't. I wish they added some accessibility options to replace certain sounds or visuals that are common triggers for people.
But I've heard before of players having to disconnect against some Killers, mainly Doctor for the visual effects and Plague for people with emetophobia, so hopefully other people are a bit aware and not too upset!
that is the way they should aproach this. they should make visual and audio filters for stuff people cant stand. that would be the easy and safe since it doesnt effect enyone else

I know it isn't the point of the thread, but I don't know why everyone says we need to turn Freddy in DbD into the Robert Englund version. Not that I don't appreciate Robert Englund, of course, and if I'm misunderstanding the statement and it's meant to say he needs a skin to be Englund's Freddy I do apologize—I very much agree with that. But Jackie Earle Haley's performance was good, and really more tonally consistent with DbD. I dunno, I quite like the character we have—the mechanics are the issue.
Weird tangent aside, yeah, Freddy's original kit was way better than his bland current one. Maybe now we could revert to the original version, but have him unlock new dream abilities after putting survivors to sleep enough, like how in FvJ he needs to be feared to have power.BeBecause the new Freddy was a mess.
I dont want to shame the actor he did a great job in portraying what they wanted him to but that was just not good.
Freddy became the Pop culture horror icon he is because of the first couple of movies. The later ones are a bit strangebut in the first movies he was scary AND kinda goofy with what he did, how he showded up and killed and his one liners it was so good. The new Freddy lost himself they wanted him to be HORROR and did not understand what made Freddy so great.
Vut now thinking about it its funny cause that same thing happened to chucky.
All that is ofcourse only my opinion on that matter

Yeah gen speeds are an issue, but I don't think the best way to deal with the issue is extend gen times because that is the most boring part of survivor gameplay.
If they could something more interactive that could extend the game that would be more ideal than making survivors hold a button for longer.
Yes they could and should do something interesting instead of just making gens take longer but that would require a lot of time and money investment from them and i dont see them doing that to be honest
-
I think oni would be the most "normal".
Two are strait up some cryptid nightmare monsters and by god i never want to be in the same room as doc even if god himself forced him to be my best friend who could never hurt me.
-
I think that any form of trying to ban a killer for whatever reason is bad for the game. If we are honest the biggest part of the players would just ban whatever killer is number one on "insert content creator"s list of the top 5 strongest killer.
TThis Would make it so bhvr has to constantly nerf killers that dont really need a nerv but one killer is always the best so for the survs to stop banning that killer every match they would need to nerf that killer anyway. Then another killer gets the crown and now that killer is constantly banned.
All this would do is make it so killer players have killers they have payed for and would like to play but they cant/need to wait long ques.
Whenever that topic is on the table survs like to say they would willingly take longer ques to not face killer x but they completely ignore the fact that this means killer x will also get longer ques if enough people dont want to face that killer and like I said thats not unlikely.
-
@zarr said:
Some recent killers have brought with them innate means of "fighting back" to an extent, and I think it is a completely worthwhile gameplay dynamic. Obviously it is, anything that promotes interactiveness and proactive gameplay is welcome game design. That doesn't mean you should be able to kill the killer or stun-lock them or something silly like that, but means of engaging the killer offensively in smaller ways are good, healthy and we should long have gotten more of them. Might sound funny, but I had even hoped that survivors would be able to wield guns against Nemesis, who would be stronger or faster than other killers but slowed down or otherwise kept in check by these weapons.
Alas, with the devs having removed unique flashlight interactions (when flashlights are already among the very few means of "fighting back"), it doesn't seem to be on their agenda. Well, at least they are buffing saboboxes.
The problem is that bhvr is just not very good in balancing thoses ways to fight back.
Xenos turrets are no threat to a good xeno player while singularitys emps often feel like you are not allowed to use the cams at all.
In the end there where plety of games that did what op askes for and they all withered away and thats probably a sign

Exactly this.
Give us a way to just end the game when the gens are done. If im confident enough to play around the gates and try to get kills thats fine but if im not just let me go I dont want to sit out the wgc just like survs dont want to be bleed out

I don't expect them to change anything honestly it was just an idea that popped into my head and I just wanted to share 😶
The thing is i understand where you come from but this could never work. Why should any survivor stay in a lobby with Blight or a nurse?
Yes ofcourse then bhvr could see wich killers are problematic and then they can change them so people dont avoid them but there will always be a top5 best killers.
When you nerf the top5 the nect killer naturally take there space so people would aviod these killer and by that all we have is a strange killer shuffel and a killer player just looses the ability to play ahis favourite killer he invested time and money into for the time till bhvr nerfs him. And that will be a nerf not because the killer is unbalance but because he endet up in the top5.
Just imagine the killer could see if they face a swf. No swf would ever get to play again.
And to Adress you point about the killer seeing the survs. It is part of bhvrs balance, they want the killer to have the ability to prepare for the trail to a certain extent and thats cause in the end the killer faces 16 perks with his four perks so bhvr thinks the killer should atleast have the opportunity to counter the items survs bring.
The only thing the pregame lobby needs to lose is the ability to check profiles and to see prestige
-
i mean we all know what op says is wrong but lets be honest friends the matchmaking is a burning pile of trash. i reguallarly get matched with survs i cant beat no matter what i do. and i dont mean well this was a good match but i lost to strong opponents but complette destruction where i may get one or two hooks and thats it
-
like all the other already said every game that had sucha mechanic is no more so why would we want it in dbd and we actually have a lore reason for it.
correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure a survivor cant just fight back. the entity makes it so they cant just pick up a sharp piece of metal and fight back. would be absoluty stupid otherwise since we have strong guys like david and lets not start with all the resident evil character

"still used religions' is such a funny sentence… XD
pretty sure that eliminates all of them… people still worship zeus and bastet and probably any other god you might think it's no longer worshipped.
personally don't think it's a good enough reason to not use them. as long as you are respectful and aren't putting giratina in the game just because, it should be free game.
like… I'm up for some version of satan as a killer. just saying.

so you never played a horror campaign? you should, it's cool.
was never a fan of wesker either, specially because we already had nemesis. at least I like his camp
depends on which dracula. the thing with castlevania is that they go from camp comedy to serious all the time. there are more scary incarnations of him. but the monster who gave their humanity away and keeps coming back to life to try and destroy humanity is absolutely a horror character.
also, a series that produces such dumb but awesome lines such as these
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PrHEelh5oo
https://youtu.be/TIvkKw4EtCU?si=A-bYYkIJY4kOFRuU&t=258
should be everywhere.
Wesker only got in because he snuck in behind Nemesis.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
yeah thats true most religions are still praticed and thats why bhvr should stay away from them. i dont think there is a respectfull way to turn anything religion related into a dbd killer.
plague worked well because they used a religion thats is so super dead there is nothing left of it cause there is not much left of the babilonian people in generall.
and if there is a way to be super respectfull with religions and make cool dbd characters that i dont see right now (im open to be enlighted) i dont think bhvr would manage to stay on that path for more then half a second.

I don't think you got me. a rin skin isn't going to yui or feng or meg. it goes to spirit.
as in, the character themselves get their alternate universe selves as a skin. in the case of spirit the rin skin would need to not have the detacheable limbs and stuff, and maybe full new animations for the sword.
someone like plague would be easier…
you can have an entire paragraph or 3 of lore in the skin to explain what changed. and even have some of the generic perks be now credited to the survivor/killer version of the character.
you can even say the fact that 2 versions of the same character existing in the entity realm at the same time is the reason one of them doesn't exist anymore. because they interacted with each other. so now the entity avoids picking the same person.
ahh okey now i understand but then we both think of two completly diffrent things. i would want rin as a survivor and meg as a killer

yeah but why? I am perfectly fine with a cosmetic and some lore in a tome… but feels unnecessary and gimmicky to do these as full characters.
i think it would not work great throu skins since then you would have dwight turn into trapper or yui turn into nurse and you would have the same killer story but with another name on it.
but if we make them there own alternate universe characters instead of the nurse we could have sally smithson a woman that survived working in the gruesome crotus prenn asylum instead of being broken by it. she could bring perks centered around healing and managing the mental damage survivors get from being hunted in the trails.
its just cool when they work with there existing characters developing the dbd universe and those what if twists can be very cool

Probably because they fear they are forced to participate sooner or later. And lets be real that would absolutely be the case. When any additional mode will become permanent bhvr will start to integrate challenges for it into the normal tome.

I can clearly see that you like to slug to 4k and feel attacked by the majority of the community thinking that is cheap and lazy. Just playing the game as intended and racing the last survivor to hatch (which is way skewed in the killer's favor) is not "giving them a free escape" it is just allowing them to play the game. And the killer has a WAY better chance to find hatch then the survivor. Slugs also get no points and have no way to exit the match without having to wait for bleed out. So you are just BMing and wasting that players time for no reason.
The problem with the whole slug for 4k for me is that the killers ultimate victory aka a 4k is based on chance if he doesn't.
Yes the killer is faster and has a better chance of finding it first but it is an absolute possibility that the hatch just spawns in front of the survivor or the killer or on the other side of the map in a dark corner. See its a chance thing while the survivors ultimate victory aka a 4e is based on there skill to trump the killer
