So… we kinda got a wolf killer… but its Dracula… I mean its not bad per say… but I'd prefer a more dedicated wolf lol
-
I actually had an idea that combines two of mine together in regards to killer.
The viking killer could be an Ulfhednar, a wolf berserker with a special phase where they could potentially turn into a werewolf with increased movement speed, lunge, recovery time, but its like a temporary phase in their kit.
Here is how it could even function which would make it very sinister indeed. Basically its built off a rage meter, when you can't find any survivors that rage meter builds up rather quickly. When you're in chase it builds up slowly. Getting pallet stunned, flashbanged, and missing close swings on survivors during a chase will increase your rage meter more quickly as the frustration grows.
When the rage meter maxes out, you were-wolf out, the wolf-skin your Ulfhednar wears merges into their flesh and they become a bipedal werewolf, again with increased movement speed, lunge range, and missed attack recovery for X amount of time, which is how long it takes for the rage meter to decay.
I was thinking the base power could be as simple as a double axe swing lunge, with the werewolf's version being something akin to Dracula's wolf pounce ability but again, with faster recovery time on it. -
I can confirm this.

Basically asking for a solution to prevent people from blood point farming during events - and honestly just in general. 8th match in a row where the killer played ghost face or something similar and just followed a survivor around, established communication by either head nodding or crouch spamming to indicate the agreement then those 2 began walking around together throwing pallets, hook farming other players, manipulating the chase mechanic by using the no terror radius feature on sight blocker terrain, etc.
These incentives are making the game obnoxiously unbearable and unhealthy. Would prefer an inverse relationship in blood point earnings or something. Not this dumb everybody gets max points in ophrah fashion nonsense.
Reduce the cost or change the survivors from having access to the blood web or something. Don't care how it's done.
*EDIT JULY 25TH 2024*
Okay so for those that read the main post and nothing else I left a few key details out of the post without realizing it. When I made the post I was irritated and apparently while typing forgot to include specific examples of what I'm referring to. I mentioned the ghost face incident, but failed to outline the key points to the behavior that make it unhealthy.
What I'm referring to is farming without consent from all four survivors as the killer. As someone pointed out - farming is a killer's choice. Not a survivors.
There are three main issues.
- Killer is AFK for an entire match
- Killer is escorted by willing survivors to unwilling survivors
- Survivors AFK until killed if not allowed to farm.
These 3 points are the reason I made this post.
I am a killer main. During the event I was playing survivor and killer both for the event rewards, but also engaged in normal matches post completion of the event tome. This is mostly about when I played as a survivor. This is not exclusively about the event mode. Normal mode was also affected because of the bloodpoints multiplier.
This is not about people playing poorly or having fun doing silly things.
I literally bought nic cage because I enjoy doing silly things. I play the clown and lose matches throwing bottles at people filled with confetti. I have no problem with silly behavior.
As a killer player, I generally hunt and 2 hook everyone before I begin a farming session. Then I generally let people go. Gets that action everyone likes early on in the game and then it goes into chill mode afterward. Still I have had some people get B-hurt with that being the result, some people calling me a trash killer for doing that and saying its the only way I could win (Even though they would have been dead on hook with +4 generators still up if I hadn't been nice lol) -
By the way I 100% support a sort of Black Hound approach, I like where your head is at with this :D

Ok hear me out…
I think it was during the Vietnam War, US soldiers were being given night vision goggles that instead of the modern green were some kind of red. They began reporting seeing "flying demons" and would shoot at them (this is 100% true btw; most likely caused by some substance that was in the goggles leaking, making the soldiers essentially hallucinate). I know it's not the exact same, but what if it was something like that?
A hallucinogenic killer?
Kinda just feels like Freddy at that point if I'm being honest. Hell, a killer being a wolf-like manifestation of the entity itself would be a pretty cool backstory in of itself. A predator molded by the entity, adding an extra layer of otherworldliness to it, but then again I think the point of the killers is to harvest the bloodlust from them as well… Hmmmm… -

What I want to say is i would not call it savage sure they where brutal warriors but not savages. They where well trained people that had incredible knowledge where it buildings medicine or there ships i would not call that savages and i would like to avoid that word because it is mostly used in a negative light when the christian world tslks about the vinings even so they where just as brutal a
Sticks and stones my friend. I am not going to censor my own language on the matter.
Anyway that's beside the point, there are some really cool, brutal things that they could do with a viking killer in this game. Personally, I still want a dual axe berserker type killer, or even dip into the realm of the Ulfhednar, the wolf berserkers. -

i would love a viking killer there are many interesting concept bhvr could do since vikings had a very broad range of diffrent fighting styles.
but i think its super important that if they make a viking killer they dont try to link him to the nordic religion since we still have a growing community of old norse pagans and they avoided relegios themes with the samurai and the knight.
and i would like to say one thing to your describtion of vikings. while they where certainly brutal and brought fear into christian europe i would not call them savage killers. not that i think that you think they where savages but thats what many people think so we should avoid such describtions
As a member of the old norse pagan community, I admire the savagery of my ancestors. Plus denying the acts of savagery committed by a people is an insult to history. You don't have to approve of it, but it happened. I respect the brutality because it was typical of the times they lived in, it was the norm. You can't apply modern standards to the past. Different times and all that.

Would some kind of Draugr Viking work with this? I know they're Nordic in relation.
That's what I was thinking it should be, some sort of Draugr would be sick.

I think it would be awesome to have this kind of killer be stealthy but then also ridiculously imposing, kinda like how Myers can be. Thing is, this is completely different.
Kinda like the guy above me said, maybe have it apply some kind of darkness for survivors and, while in that darkness, there's no terror radius? Obviously there would need to be some kind of counter to that, like maybe a killer-specific item (depending on what time this killer exists and is taken, I'm thinking something as simple as a torch or as intricate as a set of night vision goggles with a limited amount of battery).
No matter how they do it, I'm sure there'll be a werewolf killer eventually, and I hope its power matches the terror of the concept.
Exactly, its a silent hunter but when the chase begins its even more terrifying.

Slugging Perks? Oh no… ohnonononono.
Not quite. If you read it carefully, both perks actually pull survivors up into the injured state and allow them to escape the killer's grasp. They only provide hinderances to the other survivors near them.

while i would like something like that i hope if they do such a killer they be respectfull about it espacially when they throw norse religion into it
True, it also depends if they go the route of old Asatru or Neo-Asatru. We do not have a lot of solid information on Old Asatru, especially given most texts and sagas related to those times were written quite a few centuries after. -
Could be some sort of power cycle related to the more nefarious gods in Norse Mythology. So basically he gets a power for a limited time and then it swaps to another one and then a third one and then cycles back.
For example, he could get something like Loki's Trickery, where he can create mobile illusions of himself that will chase players, but won't actually cause damage. Then after that ends he could get a power like Fenrir's Hunger, where he can do some sort of charge attack, maybe something akin to the Demogorgon where he can charge and break pallets? -
The seiðmaður would be great for adding more survivor invocation perks.
-
I can imagine a Mori with the Forsaken, if he had a bayoneted rifle as his weapon, running a survivor through, hoisting them up, and staring them in the eyes before the gas mask splits apart just revealing rows of sharpened, inhuman teeth before biting into the survivor's face.
