so true. i often come back to the hook since everyone and there mother can block my aura reading but since i dont stalk around the hook just to wait for an unhook i relie on the scratchmarks. its 50/50 and i wont just ignore you and loose more time just cause you are the unhooked guy.

You still can opt crossplay off, but unfortunately, the pool of players is so small that queue times are long. To top it all off you still don't get matchmaking incentives.
wait does that mean i could gather four of my friends and if we all switch of cross play the game should just throw us into a game together since there are nearly no players with crossplay off?
that would mean you could cheese achievments and challanges
-
okey im gonna ignore all the gameplay aspekts you talked about since thats a mountain of stuff but i would like to adress the very last part the bm.
im a firm believer that every dev should have no tolerance when it comes to bm. for some reason gamer defend being a prick to other people like they cant have fun if they dont say/show the other player that they are better.
yes that stupid humping should go. hitting on hook should go and bleeding out should go but tbagging pointing after a pallet stun and waiting out the egc schould also go.
and since i know for a fact i will get people here that tell me im soft or i need to get help if bm in a game hurts me blablabla….
dont waste your time you will not change my mind and you will most certainly not get me to answer you and get into a fight about it. in every sport being a prick and taunting and badmouthing the other team gets you into trouble but for some reason gamers love that stuff. some even take it as some stupid batch of honor talking about how vile lobbys where once and they survived that cause they are so hard

Dungeon Master here… my dice rolls are so notoriously bad, I frequently need to describe the BBEGs as blundering, clumsy combatants, because entire battles will take place in which they couldn't even hurt a fly.
My dice rolls have certainly tested my ability to describe someone as incredibly intimmidating and all-powerful when the dice are constantly telling a different story.

I swear to god if i played dnd my char would kill himself in the first ten minutes triping over his own feed... thats how bad my dice are
-
I think the hitboy could need a little adjustment really not much and the speed of the spear should be higher.
Right now it feels likeif the survivor has a normal human reaction time they are going to evade 9/10 spears and they know if you want to shoot since you cant quickshoot.
This guves me the feeling i can inly hit a spear if the survivor fail and not cause I used my ability right
-
i mean do you know how often i roll a 1 when i play board games? my record is 15 times in a row. and a dice is still random

yeah i know what you mean. i love to play aram in league and there you constantly see people feeding to get out of the game quicker just cause they didnt get there main

Every platform except steam got 7 killers for free though, also wasn’t Nurse paid dlc on steam as well? Why is she the exception?🤔
they start with those five killers. this mode is something they want to develope in parts and we get to play it from time to time. im sure when it comes the next time there will be a couple more killers availble and if everything goes right in the end we will have all killers.
its just hard to make that new mode. they want to give every killer a ability that buffs your partner but they need to consider how certain killers interact with each other. if you look at the start of this post you can see plague and twins for example are a strang thing cause there respective counterplays are oposites of eachother so bhvr needs to take there time to see how things will work

They could even say that one reason Dracula resurrects is because while he's playing along with The Entity's game, he's also siphoning power from The Entity's trials, like stealing its food. Every time he hooks Dwight, he's one day closer to reviving back on Earth.
maybe it even like a holiday for him. lets hang out in another gods realm and enjoy some hunts where the victims always come back to get hunted again. just for a couple of decades or even one or two centurys to sit out a couple of belmonts till they stop being so damn prepared

Hmm, interesting, I suppose it boils down to the flavour of undead you prefer between animated skeletons or zombies.
To me a Lich is a being arrogant and vein enough to try and cheat death, and thus would likely want to keep as much of its form in life as it possible can.
In fact in relation to this debate, I always found it weird that zombies were always dumb and slow, and skeletons were usually intelligent and agile. My head cannon for explaining this is a zombie is recently deceased, and still has its basic nervous system, brain, muscles and sinew in tact, therefore it takes less necromantic energy to reanimate and function than a skeleton missing all of these things and needing more necromantic energy to fill in the gaps...
...So Zombies are like the bargain, cheaper, easier to create version of the undead, low necromantic effort for a passable pay-off... whereas skeletons require more necromantic energy to animate, and thus are more functional overall.
In relation to this, a Lich to my mind is a zombie that has had a significantly higher "investment" shall we say… After all you'd go all out on reanimating yourself if you were so inclined wouldn't you? 😁
i personally love all my undead friends no matter in wich form they come. i do have a special fondness for skeletons cause like you said they always where more magical and i always thought if i was a necromance i would not want to hang around the more rotting minions.
and i do think your general rule of thinking is pretty acurate. zombies are probably pretty easy to got going since most stuff is still there and a skeleton is more like a undead puppet you have on strings wich is more costly but inturn gives you greater controlle and thus gives them greater mobility.
for me a lich always was a skeleton mage cause thats what i knew from the warcraft universe and i always thought it makes sense cause they lern and research to strip themselfs from mortality and by that they strip them self littraly from the meat that is the symbole of that mortality

The Entity's realm could be one place that Dracula's soul goes to bide his time while awaiting his resurrections. He hangs around in another god's realm, entertaining himself by tormenting another god's toys, then leaves when he's ready. I think that would work.
Also yes, the lack of a Castlevania map has strongly turned me off from the chapter through sheer disappointment.
i think that is the best explanation they could work with. there is no real way the entity could handle a full power cracular against his will. at best the both are equall in strengh
-
i mean i think i get what he means. as a non dnd player but a huge wow nerd when i think of lich ofcourse i think of warcrafts lichs that are completly skeletons so i was a but "meh" on the first look but on a second look vecna looks very good and very skeletal undead.
my only gripe would be that his head is to intact for my liking i prefer my undead very obviously undead on every part and his head is lacking that for me but thats what skins are for
-
but the way i understood it is that 2v8 isnt just a modiefer like my little oni but a seperate game mode that one guy made sure to make that clear.
and they said its the first version of it and they are gonna keep working on it so im pretty optemistic that we will get all killer sooner or later. and its make total sense to start with the killers that everyone 100% owns

The killers already have tributes that affect the entirety of the match gameplay. And as a killer u are purely dependent on your skill as well. Good survivors make it hard and actually entertaining but that is the point of the game a challenge. But most matches you can play with a lvl 1 killer. No perks and still wipe the survivors for the simple fact of doing no gens. In decent matches u still get 2-3 kills even before 3 gens are done. One or two survivors escaping after working on their gens even if the others just ran around feels alright to me. Why guarantee me a kill as a killer??
Each gen takes about 90 secs without perks and killers still have perks to make them last twice as long. What more time do u need XD.
I can understand some people like it but I don't even bother using keys or worry about the hatch when playing with a team. What's the point if I can't escape with them through the hatch when playing together. It just seems like a nice team mechanic in a very team dependent game. It can still be worked on doesn't need to be the same. Maybe it needs to be revealed or have another item, maybe u can't listen for it, or add to perks to counter hatch. Maybe a timer before it can be taken, etc.
you completly ignored my point.
i dont want such a mechanik for the killer i just wanted to highlight how absurd the whole hatch is and i cant understand why people want anything similar to old hatch back other then "i want easy escapes lol".
if bhvr would introduce such a rng you get killed tough luck mechanic next patch for killer the forums would burn and understandebly so. its already enough that right now the killer can play perfectly but does not get a 4k cause luck said screw you.
i know that killer are very strong right now but thos are two completly diffrent problems so why using one as an argument against the other
-
when it comes to hatch let me ask you one question.
would you accept a similar mechanic for the killer?
by that i mean a rng by chance find it first mechanic that if the killer finds it first 100% gives him a kill no matter what even if he was loosing the game and the survs all should get out.
that is what the hatch does for a survivor and there is no deniyng that

That was actually the scenario I had in mind, but wanted to keep it universal.
Ever since they removed i-frames from DH traps are difficult to deal with if you are hooked in shack basement. I know that you get i-frames with DS too but depending on where you are downed in shack, it may not be enough. And unless a teammate is clever enough to "hold the trap" there is no escape. And we all know how clever random mates are in this game.
YYeah But let's be honest do we need to do anything that nerfs trapper?
Closing of the shack is the one thing a trap killer should absolutly rock

Yeah hatch is a strange thing. I get they wanted something so survs don't loose all hope when they are down to one or two people but it's total rng and it's bad cause there mmr isn't touched even so they lost. But so many people are a fan of hatch and defend it and all I can think about is the pure rage we would see if killer would get a rng mechanic that just gives them a kill when the survs would otherwise leave

What killer would that be? That fully depends on the definition of chase power...
AAs a quick thought I would say maybe killers that are relying on basic m1 gameplay to get a down in a loop. So all the rush killer like Blight or wesker are out und all range killers are out.
But it's a difficult question indeedI thought maybe trapper could use bl since all he can do is shutting down a loop and then the surv is w keying to the next.
But then I thought about legion for example. They can vault pallets and are fast but they can't down you and have nothing but m1 gameplayand then I thought about plague She is not fast and can't down with her power so she is pur m1 so she should get bl but what is when someone uses the last fountain and she gets her empowered m2? Then she would not qualify for bl.
Argh it's really not easy.... that's why I'm no dev ^^

I also want hatch gone, but that is off topic anyway.
The 1v4 aspect does not really change anything, as the skill gap needs to be really huge for you to not get a single hit without Bloodlust... So you won't win either of those aspects of the match.
Well I see some parallels to our other discussion here.
Maybe bl should not be a general mechanic since most killer don't need it but it can be part for killers that don't have a loop/chase power

Generally fair, but as I said before it would not help then as much anyway, despite on paper being the same conditions for everyone.
That's just something they should start to use as a part of the balance of certain killers. They could even start grouping the killers and then apply basekit things based on the group.
-
@Archol123 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3717782#Comment_3717782
No offense but if the other side is better they should come out on top, and if they are that much better that you cannot manage to get a single hit without Bloodlust then that is a major skill issue on the killer side or the most busted map ever, but neither of those are a good recent to get free hits.
Most tiles/maps are mostly fine, with a few exceptions... Hawkins infinite... But the goal should be to create balanced loops anyway and not have a band aid fix like Bloodlust.
I mean sure that is a skill issue literally but it's also and maybe most importantly a matchmaking issue.
Alao wouldn't that mean the hatch needs to go since there you get a escape even so you lost?
In the end I think its super important that we don't forget that we don't play a 1v1 chase sim but a 1v4 and that while you are being chased there are 3 survs doing the objective and when the killer needs bl1 or even more you had a good chase and made time for your team. I don't think you are really supposed to win a chase as a survivor atleast not in the way the game is made right now

bestie, what are you talking about?
Let's assume that this is introduced:
all gens are blocked until a. You enter chase with a survivor b. Someone loses a health state or c. X amount of time passes.
I wonder what would happen next:
- People would play "them weak M1 killers :((("
- People would abuse this and still play as High Mobility / Insta-Down killer with aura build and slowdowns
Surely, after that change, people would pick Freddy/Pig/Hag instead of Wesker/Blight/Billy <33
Girlipop how about we finally start to accept that the killers are so vastly different that we should implement mechanics and balance them.ona per killer basis and not as a blanket. Nurse and Blightmight don't need any early game help sure but trapper needs it so why aren't we giving him help.
I'm pretty sure Nurse is not gonna cry if she doesn't get the same treatment as the weak killers

I don't know about that, I don't think you should get hits without deserving them in that manner...
Sure but I so think that would mean bhvr would need to put a good amount of work into the game and rhe balance and especially the matchmaking so you don't have games where the survs are just better and the killer isn't getting downs while the gens get done
-
@Archol123 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3717574#Comment_3717574
Sure but they are still getting rewarded and the survivor is getting hit despite not making any mistakes, just because the killer got a haste effect.
I think thats just something we have to deal with.
I think the game would feel awful if the killer could just nit catch the survivor. Sure then the survivor is obviously better and the killer is rewarded but it's still better for the feel of the game.
And it's not like survs don't have a mechanik that gives them a win even if they are loosing
-
I dont care for fire ball make the Killer a bard and let me down the survs through viscous mockery

Cob and OC need their OG values back.
Just not when used together. Surge could use a small buff, eruption too due to the 8 regression events. Oppression needs to be 60 seconds.
I lowkey wish thana was 2.5 % or 3% but I am not sure if that is too much.
I hate that you don't feel any value from thana until you get all of them. Even as legion it sucks and you can bet your boots that atleast one guy helps religiously after every hit

That doesn't mean every single person have knowledge about DND. Is it really that surprising? Lord of Rings was super popular as well and I have met ppl who knew hardly anything about the series. Yeah they knew so well known names but that it. Take me for example, I know BG3 and even own it but I haven't got the time to fully play it and if I based this chapter on that knowledge then all I would know is the killer would be a mindflail since the only thing I know from BG3 xD
As I said just because something super popular doesn't mean every single person knows what it's about.
and lets not forget yes bg3 was a brilliant game and i think we will not see such a masterpiece in our lifetime but that is irrelevant cause this is dbd x dnd not dbd x bg3.
sure bg3 is based on dnd and has the monsters and classes from there but there is like a million things in dnd that wasnt in bg3 and that could be part of that crossover so even knowing dnd through bg3 isnt really helping cause i gues if its a dnd killer it will be some big character of one of the campains like vecna or straht
-
from what i heard the licens holder of nighmare on elme street is a real piece and isnt easy to work with
-
the thing is i like dnd and dnd has infinit possibilitys for cool stuff both for killer and survivor but i cant be happy since bhvr lets go of THE chance to give us a giant spider.
- 8th anniversary
- the 8 is made of spider like ligs/claws
- a spider has 8 legs
everything would fit perfectly. they could even make jokes about how they spin a net to hold us as a community tight and what not.
dont get me wrong i REALY like dnd but when if not now?

Can you reiterate what you mean? I dont think I understand what you're saying and I dont wish to misinterpret. Ty!
the person i quoted said that its probably seen in another light when killer do stuff like this then when a survivor tbags cause the survivor has no way to fight back against it just like victems in real life and that back on hali where tbagging started you always could fight back.
all i wanted to point out is that this is absolutly true but that i think if bhvr would ever go against killers humping survs they should at the same time go against tbaggs. just cause the killer could fight back does not mean that the meaning is any diffrent (and lets be real most tbagging happens at the gate there is no fighting against it).
you either accept those childish bm stuff from both sides or you dont accept it from any side is my point. hope that helps english is not my first language so i may strugle to get my point accross

I feel like the reason that dbd players take "pretend r*pe" more seriously is because, like the real deal, you have no agency and the killer only does it because they know you are powerless.
Back in Halo you'd just spawn in and teach that person a lesson. Typically they'd ragequit because people can't handle what they dish out. But in dbd you just go on tilt and bring your baggage to the next match.
while this is true when ever and if ever bhvr decides to go against stupid stuff like that they need to go against it on both sides for fairness reasons. sure the survivor cant fight back but the killer can fight back but when they go against this things they need to show no bias

Please Stephen King 🙏 Please. Video games are a new form of experience story telling. DBD is one of the biggest names in gaming horror. Even for people who just love the genre of Horror and might not care for video games, it still can’t be missed. There’s so many concepts and ideas that dbd contributes to horror. Least of all the game itself being hide and seek which taps into an instinctual primal part of the brain. Please, let Pennywise jump from the movie screen into the hands of players around the world. Please Stephen 🙏 Please
okey after a quick search it looks like mr. king himself is not fond of games but it looks like he has no general problem with them.
he sold rights to use a quote of him to the first alan wake game for only one dollar something he did for other rights in the film industry before. and he worked against lawmakers that wanted to ban violent games being sold cause he dosnt like that.
so it is not impossible that he could think dbd would be a good place for pennywise if bhvr piches it correctly

Yes, game is very often extremely toxic as from killer side, and survival side.
I think that there are several problem that BHVR will never fix:
- Really awful match making - you don't get killer / survivals that are on the same game level as you (I mean actual skill level)
- BHVR supports toxic behaviour - new killers are designed to tunnel / returning to hook / camp from distance
- Some perks are too powerful both for killers and survivals and just need to be removed completely
But the worse of cause are toxic player base. This game doesn't bring any kind of joy and there are much much better games to play instead.
Returning to the hook is not toxic if you don't tunnel or camp tho

I mean if you are consistently hitting bloodlust 2 and 3 like you are saying you do, are all the gens finished after about 3 chases? If they aren't then the survivors you are playing against clearly aren't optimizing their time, for me personally if I hit bloodlust 3 in more than one chase all the gens are completed
i would say i typicaly dont have more then 4 - 5 chases on averrage then the gens are done. most of my games end with one kill if i really work for it and then its after the gates are already open and the other let the surv hang and leave. i only get more then one kill when one survivor is way to over altruistic. i onlly get a 4k when the survivor are very obviously way worse then me or are goofing around

Yeah I agree with this. BL 1 a couple times can be okay but generally if someone’s playing properly they shouldn’t be getting this often at all. Especially not BL 2 or 3 though. I think anyone getting 2 or 3 is making serious misplays and probably throwing the game.
thats actually a thing that showes me how skewed the matchmaking is.
in some games i hit bl 1 a couple of times but in most of my games i hit bl 1 every chase except the surv is heavyly misplaying and i hit bl 2 more then just a couple times. im cool with not being good thats no problem for me but when you guys say hitting bl 2 or 3 often is throwing then there must be a problem with the survivor i face or am i wrong with that

I mean, I wouldn't say he's OP as much as he's un-interactive with his AIs, as someone who dabbles with Knight. He has his shortcomings, ESPECIALLY since he's got a few bugs holding him back and some addons feel required.
That said, I'd gladly trade the AI companions for something like, I dunno, each spirit giving him different buffs he grants himself based on his comrades like:
- Carnifax increasing breaking speeds and generator damage per kick
- Assassin increasing his movement speed and putting survivors into deep wounds from healthy
- Jailer slowing down survivors within x range when the buff is applied, slower crawl speed if downed during this buff
Or something like that. Would be kinda interesting to me at least but I can't speak for every Knight player.
i like your idea very much and i think it would fit very well for him to atune himself with the spirits of his fallen companions. i havent actually lookt into his lore so i dont know what kind of guy he is/was but depending on this he could either have the ghosts supporting him or him holding thoses who where under his command in an everlasting bind.
but i do think npcs as a killer power could be very cool. i dont know where the limitations of the engine start but i think it would be cool to have an killer that looks on the map from above commanding minions to catch and hook survivors as if dbd was an rts
