I don't know if it's really killer sided but even if thats the case I would they well its our time know. The map was incredible survs sided before so if it's killer sided now that would be kinda fair and don't worry you guys still got the game

BUT, I'll agree they should listen to us more.... but at the same time, "we" suck so I understand why they sometimes just do what they want.
That's the biggest problem. Sure you should listen to you customers but at the same time you will hear so much you can't listen to every one and like op said they listened when people said they want more fun chases cause gens are lame wich brought problems

Thanks for the reply. It mentions in David's lore him previously being in a straight relationship. That was the LGBTQIA2+ issue.
The fact that he previously had a girl friend doesn't make him straight. He could be still hiding and have a girlfriend as an alibi or he even could be bi

Legion's design and power needs complete changes and a true REWORK...
still waiting for the Pig and Myers buff tho...despair
and Ghostface didn't change still has the same issues as before but oh well who cares.
Nah keep your filthy handy away from them. Reworks are no good all you do is taking a killer away from the people that love them and learned to play and bought cosmetics to be seething new they don't enjoy. Old Freddy players know this feeling and bhvr has stated they don't consider a full rework if it's possible to achieve change on another way.

Like gen slowdown perks for killers, you can add different versions of DS, BT, Adrenaline, etc. Maybe a Borrowed Time that works for the hooked survivor instead of being on the unhooker. A DS that throws down a flashbang that blinds the killer for 5 seconds instead of a 5 second stun. These perks can be mutually exclusive from each other, you can only use 1 type of DS.
Give survivors the perk variety that killers enjoy.
I mean, you have to do something or 4/5s of your player base will just stop buying content.
Okey these are actually not bad ideas. It's "the same" but it's variety I like it
-
The problem is to make new meta perks for survivor you either need to nerf the existing meta to make room or you need to make even stronger perks which would get ridiculous
-
I think it was only what people made up because he isn't what most people would discribe as manly and that really bugs me I even had some arguments here in the forum because people say he isn't scary and weak because he isn't some 6ft hulkin beast. As a effeminate man myself I think it's sad man like this get quickly flagged as bi or gay
-
I just kinda like that it's David. It could have been some one else but it's David and that makes my chuckle because I remember all those bigots back when trickster came out and they made post about how he is to feminine and they could beat him up and often these guys startet stuff like look at David that's a real man. Man should be like David a manly man man yeah thas how men need to be or they are weak trash. So ignoring everything else I think that hits the right spots

The problem is : only masculine gays receive representation because effeminate gay are seen as stereotypes. And its very rude.
I totally get you effeminate men don't get enough representation whether they are gay or not. I would like a mor feinen man to because I am one my self just dont gay. I think bhvr is going the "save" route here because first people out there would go on and on about how its a cliche character if it a effeminate man because for stupid people that don't like gays that a thing. And second I kinda think it's a nice move to take David in particular because he is this buff manly man man and I have often seen people saying how that a real men and thats how men should be when the more feminine trickster got released and now the manly man man is gay I don't know why but I think it hits the right spots if you know why I mean

Yes being gay and effeminate is so wrong we should not get representation
Wait a second you just can't represent every one at the same time. Be it David or a new character he will only represent one type. Now we got a muscle man that seems to be very "manly" and you don't feel represented when we get a feminin gay men masculine gay man wouldn't feel represented. I think if the lore is good it's Okey it's something new we learned about a character. And then I have a question. Be it David or dumbeldore why is it cheap when later it reveals that a character is gay? I mean if it's not relevant why should they talk about it yknow

The discussions being biased about "us vs them", that's what really makes the environment here toxic and not constructiveI. I agree with you, but in online pvp games, any little thing/mechanic can be used as a "weapon" to provoke and insult the opponent.
And this is inherent to being human for some reason. The parallel of this you see in real life, especially in sports (mostly in martial arts) and I'm not even talking about "cheating", because for these serious things, you have clear rules, like not biting or kicking certain "places" of your opponent body
Summary: As I know things won't change (and in the end, maybe there's no reason to), so the best>>I<< can do is monitor myself and ignore these aspect (becoming clear that at least I speak for myself and what I think), and in the end, people who want to insult you to see your reaction will be wasting their own time. And by coincidence, yes, maybe our grandparents are right, even if it's for the wrong reasons (if you understand me).
ps: if anything got confused, sorry, my english is not the best.
I hope my grandparents aren't right I really do. I my mind these just stand above it arguments just tell me your argument isn't valid enough.
And maybe the pvp online community is just like that I mean it is like that for ages but that doesnt mean it should be like that.
So hear me out I take a big stretch here and use a very heavy argument as example now. If we sit here and say we'll there will always be people that are toxic so we don't fight it we could also stop fighting racism or homophobia because no matter what we do it's not gonna disappear. I hope you know what I try to say.
PS. Don't worry im slo struggling with my school English here it's not my first language either

"The walking "princess" stereotype"
"David actually a refreshing perspective"
Its exactly what I denounce, its oppressive and almost homophobic to say that.
Thank you to confirmed what I said.
Being feminine is not a stereotype or maybe you are saying Im a stereotype ?
I dont feel represented at all with David I just feel attacked once again. There are 0 representation of feminine guys in video games.
Once again the gay guy is muscle man -_-
While you are right that there is certainly not enough representation of feminine guys in games no matter if gay or straight its totally Okey for the muscle man to be gay and he is the first no one said he is the last. Maybe they took the safe route but let's be real taking the safest rout is understandable people are already complaining and if they had made a complete new char people would also complain that he is a toke char. And let's be real it might be a stereotype that the muscle man is gay now but making a very feminine guy would also be a stereotype for many people and you just can't represent every one at once when it's only one char

Yes like trickster that certainly fits very well. Thats something I do myself I am a straight man I'm married and have a kid but I am very feminine I like to wear stuff that typically is woman stuff but I don't label genders on cloth and since I'm more from a more rural area from a small village I get strange looks often

As soon as I saw the news I new there would be a Hugh fuzz. I think it's awesome we got the first confirmt character and to be honest no matter what character they pick people would complain that there aren't gay vibes from them (what ever that means) and if they did a brand new char to be the first gay every body would complain that it's a toke character so you can't make them happy :/
On another note I would love them to make a Charakter that "gives gay vibes" probably an male that is very feminine in its style and then two month later make a time that's reveals he is like barney Stinson and picks up girls on the fly just to mess with the people making fun of him

well, many things can be used outside their original context for which they were created. There are people who feel offended because the survivor pointed at them or shaking their head (yes/no). Now if this justifies the devs attention to change them, from my point of view it is clearly a no, with much more important things that demand attention in the game
Well, I'm not saying what you should/must do, but certainly if that's your intention (generate flame through "us vs them") and not try to debate in a civilized way, then there's certainly no reason for me to waste my time here.
Well I think every debate here is kinda a us vs them thing but only because we have this clear split of factions not necessarily because I want it to be such a discussion.
I think there is a fine line between yes people use something outside of there intended purposes and it triggers people and people using things to taunt and be toxic for the space of being mean. And while this might be a part of online gaming I think it's the worst part and we should do as much against it as we possible can. Because people like to say you need to stand above that and that you have a problem if you get triggered by stuff like that as an excuse to be mean because they fear to lose a weapon cause there are many people that only have fun if they can make people feel bad and thats to fight.
We as the gaming community as a whole should fight toxic behavior at every corner because gaming is supposed to be fun and a save space for many of us who flew from there already ######### live I was like that once to and if we just accept stuff like that with arguments that could totally come from my dad or grandpa that I have to be stronger in order to not get attacked that's wrong
I hope you see I very much would like to debate in a civil way

For sure Blight has 115% speed, if you really want you can play him as a m1 killer with insane map mobility, his addons also the very best in the whole game. After a dozen hour or so you can play him very well.
Compare it to Nurse which requires insane amount of practice to do well, mechanically so extremely hard only 5% will ever learn her, you are punished for every missed blink, and speed is decreased.
Compare to it Blight and Blight absolutely braindead
So you think blight is a good choice to pick? Since now I avoidet him and nurse because just from watching streams blight feel difficult to play right that's why I mainly play simple killer like legion and plague cause there is not much I can screw up while using there power

I agree that it's a problem, but that's 100% the fault of the matchmaker. My friends and I faced two killers in a row last night that got 0 hooks. We're not a bully squad at all, just business-like and optimal. There's either not nearly enough killers to fill outlier spots at peak hours, or 350 is too wide of an MMR range
It's both. The gap is to large so it often happens that someone from the lowest possible matching point meets a group that is just so not above there matching group. And that's gets worse because we don't have enough killer players for a multitude of reasons. Matchmaking, balance overall, balance of the majority of the killers that leads to a shortage. I also startet to play less and less because in the time I play a round as killer I can play something else that feels better
-
I stop slugging be it for the 4k or even all 4 at once till they bleed out the day survs stop sitting one inch away from the finish line just cause they can. And yes before you even bother I know I can push them out Yada Yada I don't care. They want you to come so they can disrespect and taunt you so pushing them out is giving them what they want. It's the same like people killing themselves on hook if they get camped you give them what they want that's stupid
-
Ohh God yes pls that would be so wild. I don't know to make the killer work but I think we are all firm on who would be the survivor and that this would be so awesome I would start playing survivor again
-
they will never show us mmr because then we could see how they screw the matchmaking i favour for lower q times. and when we could see the mmr we as players would have evidence to complain about the balance when we can see that certain killer cant climb above a certain rank because they are to weak.
they excuse it with they dont want elitism but thats weak because people right now just claim to be high mmr to unvalidate your opinions so what gives

Reworked. Her Basekit is not fine. It was designed by a Dev-Team which had far less of an idea what should be in the game and what not. Nurse would not be released like this nowadays, she is one of those broken things released back then, but she is allowed to stay because Killer Mains would complain too much if she would be nerfed or reworked.
However, she should be reworked. A Nerf alone would not really help, because she should stay a strong Killer. But not bypass everything in the game.
And it is not just her Add Ons. Sure, things like a third Blink, (Double) Recharge or Range should not exist. But on the other hand, having her problematic Basekit as it is and all Add Ons being Meme Add Ons does not really sound great either.
So she should be reworked completely - base power AND Add Ons. A base power-Rework of Nurse would also allow the Add Ons to be strong and useful.
Yes nurse is strong and they need to work on her but pls no rework. I don't even play her despite loving her theme and style but I think total reworks should be the last straw after many many trys to change a killer because there are many people out there who love her not for being op but for how she is played and losing that sucks. Freddy is the best example for that many people stopped playing him completely after he got reworked. With nurse it would be even worse because she has so many cosmetics people invested in and then one day she is a complete different killer you Mabry don't like to play that would be cruel
-
Come one we all know they never will delete the map. They paid good money for the deal with resi. And they are very limited in how much they can change in license stuff be it killer or map. Probably part of the deal was to make a accurate copy of the police department

Yep that's what I think to. When we see mmr we could see how bad matchmaking gets to lessen q times and we would have evidence that you can't climb with most of the killers

They work on the matchmaking they just can't snap a finger and have the perfect solution. And the grades are hidden now because they made things confusing especially for new players because like you say they had nothing to do with matchmaking and you can get iri even if you are a low grade player but new people often thought they must be some hyper killer because they are iri

I have played 5 games tonight far, 4 of which were farmers. I was also queued for like five minutes for all the games. Nobody wants to play a game where nobody actually plays. BHVR needs to do something about farmers, or else more people are gonna start quitting more than they already are. Not saying you need to ban farmers, but ruining 4 other peoples experience cause someone wants to AFK to be "funny", or a pig, who sits in front of one box so you cant get a trap off, or a killer who is afk, but has a macro making them swing every couple seconds. I could go on and on. I have been playing for so long, and nothing is more annoying then waiting sometimes 10-15 minutes for a match late at night just for it to be a farming/afk or any other variation of not playing correctly killer.
You could literally just make it so DC penaltys dont stack up to an insane amount of hours after a certain amount of DC's- which is a whole other ridiculous issue. What if your internet is crap and goes out a couple times a day? You can literally get a 12-48 hour dc penalty just for trying to play the game, which has happened to me a couple times. It makes no sense for the dc penalty to be any higher than 5-15 minutes. Completely absurd. Just adds another reason onto the list of why people are quitting.
Yeah farm games are not my favorite but as a killer main mostly have control over it. Afk people people really should get an penalty like dc's because if it's a surv it ruins the game for your team and if it's the killer but I don't know how they could do that. First I thought the pig thing was kinda funny because technically she used her power like a dice role and committed to it only getting the kills the get with it but now I start to understand why people are so unhappy about it.
I would love a luck based killer tho. Sure people would complain that they have no control but I think man that's chill af because when everything goes down for me lady luck just wasn't in the mood.
On the dc thing tho I think you are wrong. We need heavy penalties for people that dc multiple times because every dc ruins the game for every one in it. Sure with the hacker problem it sucks but I personally never met a hacker till this day and even while watching hours of steams a day a see maybe one a month so that should be oke to DC in this situations. If it really the internet that kicks someone out multiple times a day then they should check there connection and figure out why this happens every one needs to secure they have stable connection bevor participating in online games because they screw the games for the other people if they just force it and they should get a penalty atleast this way they have time to fix it
-
The I frames aren't ok either. You can just DH over traps wich makes no sense and it's not like trapper needs a counter. And it's one button press to get out of every mind game the survivor loses. All the people say mind games is where you can show your skill in a chase and then survs have a button to just win even when they lose. Oh and why exactly let's DH go the survivor right throu me as if I wasn't there

killers are not meant to win and there is no such thing as winning/losing in the game, the game is about the fun of trying to escape or get kills. I play killer as well as survivor, killer is actually MORE fun right now as killers can ruin a survivor's game experience
edit* you don't see MMR rating, so SBMM based on kills/escapes is irrelevent.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2915439#Comment_2915439
I already said why it's wrong, read my full original post.
Except literally this week one of the devs said 2 kills are a draw for the killer so if a draw exists the is a lose and a win and before you come up with some smart answer that it's about fun not winning just so you now winning is fun for many people and that is Okey and if the makers say x is a win and y is a draw then winning exist and it doesn't stop because you don't like it.
So now to your points. On one thing I am with you hard camping sucks that is true and bhvr is already working on a solution it just needs time. They already had a solution they testet but you can thank the survivors for not getting it because they needed less then a day to exploit it. Tunneling is something I find is harder to discuss. If you just talk about tunneling straight of hook I think there is no tunneling because either the killer camps and then it's a camping problem or your mate did a risky unhook before the killer had even a chance to get away and sure you could be nice and chase the unhooker Yada Yada but the other guy is full health in no time because somewhere surely is a boon and why should the killer need to be nice because your team mate has made a mistake. Everything else is fair game for me if I by chance find the unhooked after following scratch marks its bad luck for the survivor I don't have the time to let him go and find another guy.
Your bt idea would be incredible op because survs love to use the anti tunnel tec for bodyblock. Your other idea with the BP penalty for hooking someone in row sounds so bad because if I don't want to lose BP I will have a surv that can work on gens in my face for free or bodyblock

That's why I never could watch survivor streams. Most of them were throwing games to do dumb stuff lol
The only time I saw a video I liked despite the fact they didn't played normal was 4 guys trying to make a giant pile of items around that one big tree that one map has. That was actually funny all 4 survs where in it the had nice chases with the killer they just didn't try to get out so in this case atleast I think no harm was done
-
The streamers I watch I watch mostly for the person I don't care if they are super noobs or pros.
I am really picky when choosing a streamer and my number one no go is when they act like they are the big guys because they stream and its Okey to yell at every one because they must be right because they stream. This goes hand to hand with people making content that only is made of being a prick to other people. Trying to make your mates or enemies rage quit or not participating in a normal game because you need to do some sick pallet into blind into headon into DH into ds stuff because that gives clicks because there is no other reason to watch them because this guy's are always blend shallow and not even funny

Ideally, you get paired with/against people that the killer has a 50% chance of killing - averaging out at 2k a game. Not 2k every game (this is rare due to the snowbally nature of DbD).
Yeah that makes sense. I mostly asked because of the the killer fails if gens Gen done thing

Depends on your rank, up to about Gold 2 kills would be a pip but Gold and Red you need 3 kills typically to get a pip and you might even lose a pip at 2 kills if you’re red if it was a really short match and you didn’t do much.
I really don't know the pip system to well. Do you get a pip if you do a 4k no matter how short the game is or can you technically screw yourself by being to good
-
@DrDeepwound said:
yes, the game is balanced to be a draw for killers.
The only way a killer can "win" or progress via pips is 3k or better, its basically all or nothing.... devs have stated officially that 2k is not a win its a draw and that's what the game is balanced for.
@dugman said:
Yes, the devs have said the intended balance point is around 2 kills per game on average, presumably with the median results being in the 1-3 kill range. Basically they want most games when both sides play equally well to not be everyone lives or everyone dies, they want it in the middle somewhere.
And yes, that does imply the gates are supposed to be open at the end of most matches. Anybody who says the gens should only be done “half the time” or say a killer failed “when the gens are done” doesn’t understand that the game isn’t set up that way.
Okey so the argument is trash good to know.
The dev said the game sees it as four individual 1v1s wich I think is stupid since the killer has to go up and beyond the balancing to "win" while a survivor can throw over the team and run out as soon as the gates are open and it's a win for them. I think team work should be a bit more concern
-
What if I tell you you can just scroll by a leaving post?
Oke don't want to come of as to aggressive. I think it's ok if people post this they usually give the reasons why they leave and since the devs said time and time again they read the forum its a way to say to them you lost me and here is why
-
Fare well my fallen brother.

I think this is exactly it. It's not so much a killer shortage as much as people prefer different roles at different times of day. I'm much more likely to play killer on a weekend afternoon vs a weeknight when my friends are on.
That being said, I think it's a bit of an issue because the role imbalance makes for poor matchmaking. Games are much better for me at off-hours for both roles. I go as far as playing on EU servers for solo survivor during peak NA hours because the MMR range gets too wide with teammates. Not sure what a solution looks like, but it has been the elephant in the room with MMR since it launched.
There isn't really a solution for that you either make the matchmaking fair but then you get stupid long q times and the top braked just sees the same 20 players or you go for shorter times but then you have stupid unbalanced matches no matter what people will complain and finding a middle ground isn't easy I think.
Another thing I think is that of course people will flock to play with there friends in the evening so there is a shortage of some kind. I would like to have an option to play killer with a friend atleast one. But I don't know how or if it's even possible to implement this without splitting the community and making the times even longer
-
@StarLost said:

That makes sense, because the side that's 'needed' will have the faster queues.
I also get why survivor queues can be fast sometimes - as there are 4 spots available in a game for every 1 killer spot.
Where I get confused is how this seems to correspond to time of day, where off-peak sees faster survivor queues and prime-time sees faster killer queues.
I think because prime time is in the evening and most people like to play with there friends and it's more likely that your 4man is complete in the evening. And then the shortage of killer shows because when the killer qs are longer its because many people play killer while there team isn't there.

The earned bloodpoint pool does max out at 1,000,000 BP, correct. There is also a separate pool for awarded bloodpoints (i.e. rank reset bloodpoints, bloodpoint codes, etc). In theory, if you have 600,000 earned bloodpoints, and 600,000 awarded bloodpoints, you will have 1,200,000 bloodpoints, and will still be able to earn 400,000 blood points from playing in matches, before hitting that one million earned BP cap!
Well could you tell us if the devs team has a specific reason for having a cap in the first place. Just out of curiosity

Yeah it will not change anything whether or not they will show it.
I see here on the forums as well as some people who stream claiming they are high or top MMR with nothing to back it up.
As for some of the streamers, i see some survivors or killers they go against that clearly shows they are not high or top MMR whatsoever.
Not only by how they play but also their opponents.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2914616#Comment_2914616
Luckily for me i don't play battlefield 😬
But yeah that is also a dumb decision to make, it's not a big deal to show the scoreboard or MMR score.
Take rainbow six siege for example, you get to see your score and how much you gain or lost after a match, and i believe you can even watch what your score is on a screen in the main menu if i remember correctly.
Yeah that's a streamer thing the moment people start streaming for mor then a dozen they somehow become high grade players in every game they play its just silly. I know maybe a handful of streamer where I would say they are high mmr but that's backed up by game play

They won't show your or others MMR score as stated on the last Q&A because of elitism.
Personally i loved to see my own MMR, I don't care about the MMR from other players tbh
Best thing about elitism is that people will do it no matter what :D you can often see people saying stuff like as a high mmr player or well you must be in low mmr not like me

Oh yeah, I saw that post, this was an idea born from that one. I had quoted you and crafted this when I realized it wasn’t half bad and should probably just be it’s own topic.
It definitely should be I like this even more because it's not just nah I want out and it's for both parties

I guess in retrospect I did forget about the the time when hatch is closed, doors are still closed and survivor is slugged…then killer collects glyphs for free.
Maybe pressing button will also open hatch.
Anyway, I tried.
Simple pressing the button opens doors. I really like that idea I had a similar one where the killer a button to end the game once egc has startet to avoid the door sitters but this is even better

As a Legion and plague main thana. I just love how the don't want to heal to cancel my power but they just need to.
As survivor it's that Jill perk where you have already heal progress after being unhooked (sry I obviously don't play that much survivor)

Then show your mmr instead? No confusion there.
There are for sure many reasons why not to show. My personal theory is that it would highlight that matchmaking isn't working so good atm and that quick qs get over everything and that it would show that you can hit a wall playing only your Favorit killer if his name isn't blight or nurse
