Dissatisfied in PlayStationville

Rank is removed once again and you plan on midrange match making..

I honestly wish you abandoned the ps4 version already. How many times have you change the game for the worst.

But you still want our sand dollars even if updates create frame drops, players lose distance in chase and the gameplay experience is effected.

Why change the game to be less transparent again?

I thought the community agreed this isn't a change we want when this was implemented in the past.

I have never seen a large post on this form, social media or a popular youtube video in favor for rank to be removed.

I can only assume it's removed because the matching will be pairing casuals with hardcores.

I don't want this despite the variety bhvr is touting..

Bc the variety the community was asking for was the equalization of killer power levels not player skill.

So if you could just give us a ranked mode to flex and actually target the customers your trying to reach with a hide and go seek mode.

Sheeeeeesh

  • Removing Grades from the end screen has been one of the most requested things from the Community.

A lot of the community believed that grades = MMR which it clearly does not, Grades are pretty much only a representative of time played that month and nothing else.

It does not affect matchmaking in the slightest.

The matchmaking changes that were implemented will affect a very small portion of the players - those at the very peak off MMR.

  • PS4 is in an unacceptable state, with you on that.

As for grades it makes having discussions about matchmaking way more difficult because people just don't get it.

DBD player: "This matchmaking makes no sense. I'm in bronze, why am I being matched with golds?"

BHVR or another player: "Grades aren't used for matchmaking. You don't see the number used for matchmaking but it isn't related to grades at all"

DBD player: "Okay but that doesn't explain why I'm being put against gold players when I'm only a bronze"

^^ that is pretty much how these discussions on here go

Then show your mmr instead? No confusion there.

There are 197 perks in game.. what percentage of the community actually understand how they work or how they synergize?

Considering the amount of bbq&chill hate on the forums imo it's less than 50% of the community.

Most players don't play both roles and have a limited understanding of the game.

Diluting the core player base for the sake if speed will cause more frustration ingame.

The variety we want is more top tier killer characters worth playing as or against.. not games against midrange mmr killers that use trapper etc.

I like the game how it was when I purchased it and the game has continue to grow even when..

Matchmaking crashed for days because this became free Playstation plus title.

When promoted events dropped with major bugs.

When players glitched auric cells and you let them keep the currency.

So I searched "removing grades" here on the forms and found 23 pages of discussions.

Then I searched "nerf deadhard" and found over 300 pages of discussions js

In closing.. grades indicate experience/ knowledge and while they're meaningless to others, some of us found them helpful js

why not show an MMR then and remove\replace grades completely with like monthly XP which in the end tranfers to BP.

It was never highly requested prior to it being introduced. I think it's a simple case of groupthink.

It was requested before. Every time someone made the mistake and got corrected in the forum everyone said just remove it when so many people are confused

  • There are for sure many reasons why not to show. My personal theory is that it would highlight that matchmaking isn't working so good atm and that quick qs get over everything and that it would show that you can hit a wall playing only your Favorit killer if his name isn't blight or nurse

They won't show your or others MMR score as stated on the last Q&A because of elitism.

Personally i loved to see my own MMR, I don't care about the MMR from other players tbh

Best thing about elitism is that people will do it no matter what :D you can often see people saying stuff like as a high mmr player or well you must be in low mmr not like me

Same logic as behind not showing scoreboard in latest battlefield, yeah right path to take...

Yeah it will not change anything whether or not they will show it.

I see here on the forums as well as some people who stream claiming they are high or top MMR with nothing to back it up.

As for some of the streamers, i see some survivors or killers they go against that clearly shows they are not high or top MMR whatsoever.

Not only by how they play but also their opponents.

Luckily for me i don't play battlefield 😬

But yeah that is also a dumb decision to make, it's not a big deal to show the scoreboard or MMR score.

Take rainbow six siege for example, you get to see your score and how much you gain or lost after a match, and i believe you can even watch what your score is on a screen in the main menu if i remember correctly.

Yeah that's a streamer thing the moment people start streaming for mor then a dozen they somehow become high grade players in every game they play its just silly. I know maybe a handful of streamer where I would say they are high mmr but that's backed up by game play

No grades didn't show experience or knowledge, they only showed time played that month. We have many players who get to Iri 1 on both sides - this does not mean their MMR is high. Especially as most players fall in the medium MMR bracket and only a small percentage are higher, it clearly shows that Grades are not equal to MMR but to time played.

if grade are representative of time played then why do I keep de pipping or safety pip Ive played 8 matches as killer grade silver 4 I got good game and bad game so it up and down in pipping still in killer grade silver 4 8 matches only need 5 pip to grade up but didn't pip up don't look or sound like time played.

btw same killer I got 6 hooks maybe 7 anyways got brutal killer all got out 0k I safety pip then I 4k next match same killer got brutal killer safety pip what this game want to pip?

survivor pipping not any better don't sound like time played.

Of course it is, we wont get complaints over mmr if we dont show what anyones mmr is, it's just a way of hiding an issue for them.

It doesn't just show time played, though. If you don't consistently play better, you stay the same or even get de-pipped. Your grade shows 2 things: time played + skill in a few short (month-long) window of time. Thus: if you are an ash or bronze grade player, you shouldn't be getting matched up with iridescent players. Thus: hiding ranks obscures problems with the matchmaking system at best, and gaslights players at worst. Don't be obtuse by pretending it's not a problem.

  • I am still wondering why it is so hard to understand.

Every - normal thinking - person thought when they first read about - we will use a hidden number - the BIG EMBLEM GRADE YOU SEE ALL THE TIME doesn´t mean anything.

Hmm... i think this will confuse a lot of people. At least this was my first thought.

And a lot of people are confused.

Because this is not how perception works.

YOU SEE A BIG NUMBER on your screen. You always will refer to this, no matter how often you tell, this doesn´t mean anything.

People would immediately understand that, if you show you MMR also. I think no one would have a problem with, ah, here is my player grade and here is my match ranking... ok.

  • Sorry for the bump.. haven't been here in awhile.

Unfortunately I think the brains at bhvr forgot that this a team based game.

    Survival is result of teamwork.

Yet bhvr grades the user on the team's performance?

Grades are important as they were a win condition in the past.

And the game still grades your performance, adding a survival mmr system is redundant busy work.

Then to remove grades with no replacement so haphazardly with a blurb on the blog shouldn't surprise me with this company but it did.

Coincidering it was done as a result of the mmr feedback isn't enough of justification imo.

Anyways, this grade situation could have been rolled out with excitement.

Imagine hyping the player base up saying you're removing grades to being in new unlockable emblems by introducing a persistent tome with emblem challenges.

    Such as:

Sacrifice 100/1,000/10,000 survivors with a specified Killer earn an emblem grade to display.

    Down 100/1,000/10,000 survivors ect.

    Escape 100/1,000/10,000 etc.

    Complete 100/1,000/10,000 gens etc.

    So on..

But hey the way bhvr goes about doing things is the irl version of, "this is fine" meme.
