  • So killers talk smack to survivors and their threads get shut down but survivors can talk trash like this and noone cares?

    Ok then :/

But the thing is, it isn't. Stop blaming the perks just cause players can use them efficiently. It helps give players an actual chance to survive so THEY can get bloodpoints. And from what it sounds like to me in the OP had to have been camping his 3 survivor hook or he had just hooked the 3rd and the 4th came running in. Point is, perks are there to help players complete their goal. Unfortunately with players with opposing goals, its not going to satisfy players when they lose and they have to pick something to be pissed about. Its not the perks so just leave them alone. You win, you win. You lose, you lose. Stop busting the perks

Fine, not my problem anyway really, I just dont think that single perks should be able to undo massive plays like having 3 people hooked.

This...... This is entitled killer talk right here.... You won. Who cares if you had to work for it? The feels? He'll. If I had that happened, I would WISH so hard for a chat window so I can gloat. But here we are.... Hearing a complaint about not ending the game faster.... This is sad privilege..... And a slap in the face to the survivors you killed....

I get how you feel, i was just explaining things a bit more for OP and explaining my thoughts on the situation. A 4k is awesome and its good to work for it. But as I have mentioned in previous threads the perks make you feel like you are fighting the game rather than the player. Regardless of the outcome that is just bad freaking design when a player doesnt feel like they are competing against a player but the game itself.

  • I see a lot of people talking about his record saying he won so who cares. The problem isnt balance in this case the problem is feel. This guy is amazing, far better than I am at least, he just hates the feel of some of these perks. Thats really what the issue is, the perks are designed, intentionally or not, to rob the killer of the situation. They are DESIGNED to take away the advantage of playing well and give the advantage to the survivors

  • But... That was a nerf because now its even MORE useless

  • Just gonna throw out my piece on this. The 1% difference per survivor is by no means, anywhere near an equal buff for removing the healing penalty. As now it makes healing easier so survivors are more likely to do it. So you are far less likely to have 4 survivors injured, and with that it also means that survivors dont have a reason to NOT heal. Now thana, can be fully bypassed by doing stuff survivors should be doing anyway. Not a huge fan of thana before the change but now its just useless

  • The biggest problem with the loops is killer time management. When a loop can burn 20-45 seconds why waste the time when you know gens are going to pop. Not to mention if killers chase survivors too long they get called tunnelers. At the end of the day i guess more people are getting tired of doing stuff to get told not to or not have it be effective.

Instead of punish, I would reward players for not dc'ing.

Add a stackable bp bonus for every completed game.

For example, it can be 5% for every game.

Players who dont dc for 20 game get double bp.

If they rage - they go back to normal 100% bp gain and they have to play 20 games again to get to double bp.

Also, add to the leave button a warning that they will lose their bp bonus. :^)

Edit: both suicide on hook (letting go the struggle) and leaving would reset bp bonus.

I like it but the suicide on hook think. I think it should be a button to suicide rather than spam to stay alive, i didnt press quite hard enough on time while spamming and died from it. I get the intent, to make it feel like you are in life or death but j feel its a weird mechanic

  • Reworked maps became a catch all for survivors. Even though the maps were barely touched and most of them given better loops to compensate, the running narrative is "KiLlErS hAvE OP mApS, SeE, NO SAFE LOOPS NO GOOD LOOPS BAMBOOZLE BROKEN IT STOPS A WINDOW NERF PLS"

  • They played the game but heres the question. Did those killers tell you to ######### or offer up threats? Because while there are killers that do it thats mainly a survivor thing post game in my experience.

Nah, I know that, I just meant to ask if people se the "focus on the saviour" even if another 2 survivors were there as a "fair play"

Ooooh, u mean like 3 ppl right by the hook? Ok that makes mote sense. I still say yes because its drawing aggro :p

  • Ok, serious question. If we cant go after the saviour, what are we supposed to do? Cant hit the hooked person, cant hit the unhooker, thats 50% of the survivors it would be considered rude to hit for 1 hook.

  • Considering how many bugs that help survivors are left for extended periods of time I wouldnt be surprised if self unhooks were ignored.

  • I never really liked billy but he was fun, i could move fast, people would be stupid and blindly bump into me when chainsaw was going and id get maybe a kill.

I understand the reasoning why they nerfed him but disagree with it. New billy is now hampered for using his power like most other new killers, its tiring trying to fight mechanics and not the survivors.

  • @burt0r said:

This game is balanced for the masses and not from the top like other team PvP games so it will never be completely fine.

Tools that are meant to ease problems for the average will always evolve into weapons for the experienced.

    @LaUry said:

Practice mate really.. Lot of pll have little problem vs SWF teams.. Sometimes they win sometimes killer wins this is how it goes. It's even more interesting to play in a match where the killer is good and the survivors are good too

The balance for survivors is for the masses. Killers are balanced around top performance. If a killer overperforms they get nerfed. If survivors overperform then nothing happens because "we dont have enough data to make a decision"

  • So after reading this thread this is what it all boils down to.

Survivors: I DIED SO JM GOING TO TELL THE KILLER IM GOING TO MURDER HIM, THAT HE IS TERRIBLE AND SHOULD FEEL LIKE SCUM?!!?!?!!!!!!😡😡😡

Killers: These last 8 games people told me to kill myself, im going to start playing more to have fun, killing with moris and just enjoy myself instead.

Survivors on forums: SEE KILLERS USE MORIS SO ITS JUST AS BAD, LOOK AT DUMB KILLERS THINKING WE ARE TOXIC, YOU SHOULD ALL DIE AND LEAVE THIS GAME.

Yeah this thread shows survivor main bias lol

  • The funny thing is this is totally accurate. Except most groups of friends in among us keep knowledge to themselves. Look at streamers of the two games and notice a differenrince

  • People keep talking lime healing takes a super long time to do, one medkit and its done jn a couple seconds. Outside of legion and maaayyybe plague if she wasnt bugged to hell and back, I could almost see this perk being halfway decent

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

Play how you want. Why do you need to ask permission on the forums.

Because through death wishes and screaming survivor players have many killer players wondering what is actually toxic or not in the game.

  • Since now it doesnt make it harder to heal its benefits just get removed with a few seconds of healing. Thana discouraged healing so now its easier to remove those penalties

Heh, funny. Yeah, I'll think about it. For all the grief Killers get, Survivors (and I play one too) are down right obnoxious in abusing things outside the game. This is why we can't have nice adjustments. Give them an inch, and they take a mile. Still, I'll give it some thought on how to implement and find a way to address that exploit.

I like the other suggestions tho btw.

I am still new enough that I didn't know a variation of three had already been tried. Yes, I'm sure that it could be worked by Survivors unless very carefully implemented. I'll have to give a bit more thought to how to logistically do it without setting off unintended consequences. I still think it COULD be done, but you are right... it would require a lot careful design safeguards.

Just so you know how it went down, two survivors would sit just outside the radius of the killer forcing them to eithher leav and lose the unhook immediately or sit there and gaurantee that their one person went down allowing the 4th person to just run and clear the gens on the map.

  • I dont even know what id change anymore. I just wish that I didnt have to play like im in a freaking tournament just to stand a chance ☹️

  • I brought this up in another thread, but i feel like its gotta keep being said. I really dont wanna be that guy whose saying that the devs dont like killer mains but when I keep seeing changes getting made vecause killers have it too easy or because someone is doing too well it makes me think that the killer playerbase isnt supposed to have fun. They are supposed to carry the fun for survivors.

It would make sense, they cant get rid of tunnelling and camping because of major imbalances that would cause a lot of other problems, however they can make the experience a very cut and dry for a Survivor player. Work on generator, run into killer randomly because they have fewer and fewer resources to actually follow up with people, engage in Chase between 30 and 45 seconds but this part can vary because of bloodlust. Then either the Survivor gets away or is hooked, following the immediate hooking the Survivor is either freed by one of his friends or chooses to execute himself on the hook.

Killer isnt supposed to "manage pressure" or " pressure gens" because that isnt fun for the survivors. They have to chase the survivor and walk away. You're not a Survivor trying to escape the realm of The entity, you are a guest at Disneyland

  • Im sorry all, I really am im trying not to fall into the whole "DeVs HaTe KiLlErS" mentality but..... When these are their excuses for nerfing meta perks, when this is the constant for the team I reeeeaaallllyyyy dont have much to fall back on. It honestly seems like survivors are supposed to have fun while killers are expected to "carry" the fun for the survivors.

  • @JephKaplan said:

Killers: im tired of seeing the same 4 perks every game uuuuuuugh

Devs: *buff newer perks to make them more fun and viable*

Same killers: yo ######### bro thats illegal.....

Devs: *make pop not as oppressive and removing the chaining factor of it by barely touching it*

Killers: Ds ShOuLd GeT tHe SaMe TrEaTmEnt

Ds is literally not an issue if u just don't tunnel the same survivor off of the hook, and if they go in a locker thats 1 survivor not doing gens, so what exactly is the problem? Now that DS is bugged its just tunneling and camping almost every game for like 2 weeks and u try and say that DS should not only be nerfed but even removed lol. If anything DS is necessary if the survivors want to actually play the game for more than 2 mins. The problem is how ds combos with other perks, so if they can do smth about that then do it (unbreakable soul guard for example).

Pop barely got nerfed and ppl are jumping on the nerf ds train instantly which is not surprising since this community is so 2 sided its insane, theres barely ppl thinking about whats fun for both sides instead of just 1. 45 seconds is way more than enough to still get to a gen across the map even as a 110% killer so whats the problem? The dev comment even said that its being changed cuz ppl could do things without even thinking about it and still have it at the end then get a new pop. And the meta is ruin undying so whatever. The other perk changes like blood pact i've seen some ppl saying survivors will abuse it and my question is how? 16m is nothing and in order to abuse it in chase thats 2 survivors not doing anything plus after a hit the sprint burst will most likely make the survivor run further than 16m and deactivate the perk.

All and all wait until u play it on the ptb before complaining, but u are not even reading this part since u are already writting a comment calling me an entitled filthy survivor main.

This post is about both sides btw, survivors do the same thing just this ptb its the killers doing it and i thought u guys were more mature.

Hate to bring this up. However every time people say "Wait for the PTB" it turns out to be completely garbage. We are seeing the same problems as usual, taking something noone complained about and nerfing it, taking things that were fun and nerfing the aspects that made them fun while gameplay is made easier with more variety on the other side.

The main argument I hear in favor of nerfing pop has been "Do you really NEED those extra 15 seconds? Lets you do too much you are just a bad killer" why cant we have a good perk stay good :/

  • BHVR: We found that killer was too playable so we are continuing to nerf every good option they have at dealing with game speed and making sure the experience is as frustrating as possible

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Weak? The last released stats showed him at the statistically most lethal killer in the game. And the only thing that has changed since then is the rope / chains nerf which means that your average game against him is going to be like 4% faster.

The snares are / were strong enough to shut down god windows and infinite loops. The teleport allows him to drop bad chases quickly and deliver pop across the map instantly.

He is universally regarded as one of the best killers in the game and there are people who think he is weak? Do you think nurse and spirit are weak too?

Statistics for "lethality" include suicides on hook and dc and I hate to be a jerk about it but most games now have at least 1 dc and/or suicide. Which drops kill rates around 20%. Its a huge problem for gauging how powerful killers are but its why some of the nerfs are so prevalent.

    Think of it this way

Survivor team (A B C D) sees freddy is the killer. Survivor A is seen early and runs away, getting downed and hooked at avout 120 seconds in. Survivor A now fails his hook checks and suicides because freddy op and doesnt want to play v him. 1 kill. 4 gens later survivor B has been working hard to avoid and do gens. Survivor C has been stealthing and survivor D is hiding in a corner moving to stop crows.

Survivor B gets downed, hooked and 5th gen is almost done, lets say B has been hooked twice before, this is the majority of the game not necessarily through tunneling but, just bad luck. The other survivors been downed and hooked once.

So thats 1 suicide-on-hook and one kill. Now Survivor C and D are left survivor C gets downed before the gate is opened. As the killer goes to pick him up for second hook, he disconnects immediately counting as a 3rd kill and survivor D who has camped hatch since gens were done or since B went down, instantly jumps down hatch ending the game.

Killer has a 75% kill rate that match and is then complained about for being too broken. Stats are looked at and he is getting 3 "kills" per match even if survivors are basically giving up the second they see someone they dont like.

Then it looks like the killer is overperforming, they get hit with nerfs and the cycle repeats.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

What category did you select for this to be put in General Discussions?

Took me a bit to find it but general discussions is a button.

  • I think im starting to see the picture here

  • Spirit or PH if i had to pick whi gets it first PH.

Survivors despise any killer that makes them have to think about how they play and they despise any power that doesnt blatantly hinder the killer if not used perfectly. These are the two killers that hit both of those marks and I think we are going to see changes made for the sake of "survivor fun" again.

  • Id seen that issue for a long time with plague.

  • Just gonna say this, just cause its easier doesnt mean its good in anyway and that other problems havent popped up.

EX 1: You have to push a boulder up a hill. If the devs give you a smaller boulder but change the hill to be more steep with various hole it just got harder didnt it?

That's the problem. They got rid of infinites, removed window spam and released strong killers! Then broke the hook mechanic so people cant hook survivors, left several bugs involving hitboxes simply not registering hits from killers, and to top that all off. EVERY new killer gets heavily nerfed shortly after release, PH had it, Oni got nerfed, DeathS got hit and we are already seeing it with Blight. Dont tell me survivors arent being favored when there are constant changes made because killers are "too powerfwul" or because it hurts "survivor fun"

  • Its just gonna be reclassified as "hook tech"

  • Its hard for horror and fear ro be an element in a game.with mechanics such as looping in it. When you can play ring around the rosie with the killer, or you stand at a pallet and the killer has to be careful cus you might smack them with a wooden pallet. It detracts from horror.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

I was going to make a joke post about the garbage responses this kind of thread normally gets, then thought better of it and deleted it all.

That said, Gens will fly if you aren't visiting them enough. If a Survivor is running you around mid for 30+ seconds, it's because they are stalling you while everyone else works on Gens. It sucks. As a Killer, you are "supposed" to chase and hit them, but they know that. They will present you with the Survivor that is confident in their ability to run you while Gens get done.

As such, my mindset for this game has completely changed when playing Killer.

First off, you aren't a BIG BAD Killer trapped with four Survivors running for their lives. You are an armed victim trapped with four intruders trying to break your home. YOU'RE the one on the defensive, not them. They are there to attack your stuff, and you are there to defend your stuff. If one of them is running you around for more than 10 seconds, you need to go look at your stuff because it means the other intruders are tinkering with it. The rats are after your cheese. Chase long enough to hit them off a Gen, or get them running from the Gen they clearly want to work on (most Survivors become fixated on the Gen they fingered, and won't often go look for the one they haven't touched yet). Patrol them, chase when/where you can. and only really commit if they run deeper into your defense zone. If they run you to the other side of the map, you got played and will lose a Gen. They are greedy, unforgiving cannibals that will sacrifice a rat to a hook so the rest and gorge themselves on your cheese. After that, it becomes mind games, game sense, and mechanical skill.

If Gens took a bit longer, or changes were made so Killers felt like more of a threat, it would be a different game. Maybe better, maybe worse. A whole new meta would pop up. Until then, you're a terrified home-maker with a knife, and those intruders are trying to break your stuff.

Thank you, I have been looking for a way to phrase it and thats perfect,

  • @ClickyClicky said:

It goes to show that a lot of killers are overrated. PyramidHead got wrecked mostly, "but but OP!!1" yeah right.

Spirit also isn't the unstoppable force some people make her out to be. Performance overrall was underwhelming. Sure she was limited to brown add ons due to a sound bug on her footsteps but survivors had perk and add on resrictions too.

Nurse is still by far the strongest killer in the game....in the right hands. Some people will try to convince you that she's now bottom tier lol

Funny to see the DS + Deliverance combo grant free escapes. In fact most of the "no counterplay" was on the survivor side, but it's ok because only killers should have counterplay.

Survivors did seem like the powerrole against anyone but Nurse but then you remember this is 4 people on comms.

    swf -> killer -> solo

Thats how everyone assumes the balance is and it seems to be correct.

Sorry but I gotta be that guy, I put nurse in low tier for the same.reason archers in ancient military were nowhere near as plentiful as media makes it seem.

Nurse is stupid powerful if you dont make mistakes and dont have bugs, but she does and people do. A mistake on nurse, almost more than any other character can completely throw a game. While she is certainly high tier if you can master her, the vast majority of people find her unplayable and THAT is why i put her at low tier.

Kinda like prerework Urgot in league of legends, stupidly broken and strong if you knew how to use him, but if you didnt he was garbage.

  • @hillbillyclaudmain69 why isnt that fine? That's like saying survivors should be slowed or have a cooldown when doing generators.

Im not trying to be snarky, it just seems like if the killer is cancelling the power that should be it. Cancel it and go for the hit.

To bring up my example, wouldnt it be like saying if a survivor is working on a generator that they should have a delay where they have to slowly get off the gen before running?

  • Survivor: *Has to put in minimum amount of effort to dodge new ability* RRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NEEEEEEERRFFFF IIIIIIIITTTTTTT

  • These changes sound kinda rough for me. Wanting to remove bloodlust, heck, the addition of a hatch spawning offering is insanely powerful with keys in their current state.

  • Meanwhile the devs

BHVR: So we found that PH is under scrutiny right now so we are going tk do a vote to fix him. Who thinks PH should be gutted so survivors can mindlessly play?

The 4 survivors: Yeah he should be gutted.

The one killer: Hes a good fun killer, can't you use different perks instead? He shouldnt be nerfed.

BHVR: Whelp 4 ppl say yes and one say no, gutting here we come.

  • Wasnt that what hatch is for? So you dont have to use exit gates

  • @ZaKzan said:

Games are too easy for survivors at high ranks, once you reach a certain level it's just child's play to run any killer at any skill level in the game. Hexy's tournament even showed this. It's just not a fun game at high levels, and survivors that reach higher levels of play need something to keep them occupied, so they figure out ways to abuse the killer, since wins are too easy. Nothing is done to help keep this in check.

People like to say there are toxic players on both sides, but really there isn't. If you see a toxic killer, chances are they are that way because of survivors. There's just nothing a killer can do against survivors, and survivors are allowed free reign to rub their superiority in the face of killers. The two things killers can do against survivors is camp and tunnel, but those two things are severely limited due to perks like BT and DS. Meanwhile survivors can bodyblock, they can teabag, they can relentlessly blind the killer, they can hold the game hostage, and they can do this all while effortlessly doing the gens and opening the gates because the game gives them the time to do so, there is no sense of beating the clock.

I can go hours and hours playing survivor games with no toxic killers. It only takes two or three games as killer to find a toxic survivor lobby, that then sours my mood and makes me play more ruthlessly as killer. There's just nothing the killer can do to survivors that's really toxic without sacrificing the game as a result. I think that's the major problem. Survivors can be super toxic and do this to one of the strongest killer players in the game while also doing their objectives. Most of the time if you choose to tunnel or camp survivors as killer, you're likely not going to 4k.

Im glad to hear someone else say it!

Edit: After reading more comments, clearly noone understands what rude behavior is. Insults in chat arent the only toxic behavior, yes flashlight clicking is a rude toxic behaviour. Its the DBD variant of tbagging, which is also prevalent. Heres the thing, survivors (and some killers but mostly survivors) dont care that Tbagging and flashlight clicking are toxic, or they will look you in the eyes and say "UgH it ISnT tOXiC gIt GuD" Literally every other game this is considered rude, Not reportable but rude.

SO WHY IS IT THAT IF A KILLER DARES TO PLAY THE GAME IT IS ALL CONSIDERED TOXIC BEHAVIOUR?!?!

Thats what bothers me more than anything else. You chased to long? DIRTY TUNNELER! You were too close to the hook after hooking someone? FILTHY CAMPER! You dare to run a perk not designated as "fair?" TRASH KILLER BABY KILLER GIT GUD U BAD

  • The issue with balance (including ruin nerf) for me at any rate boiled down to the game just being a pain to play. I love playing killer but im not that good, dont have the time to get 700k hours and master every glitched out pixel on each map. So when i play against people my level i like it to be similar skill, but instead of playing the game I have to sweat so hard to make anything work because the game is fighting me.

I am never fighting the survivors in the game, I am fighting clunky controls, an unspoken 5 minute timer because gens are done so fast, perks that are completely changed because the game was too "unfun" for the survivors.

Yes, infinite loops were removed, however what they were replaced with (which noone likes to bring up) are incredibly strong loops that can run the killer for 25+ seconds. When looping is SO easy to pull off that even I can do it with minimal experience, its kind of stupid.

Everyone would laugh at you like they do survivors who dc on first down but whatever. Who cares about anyone else, you spent money so you get to ruin the experience of others who also spent money.

Kinda hoped people would realise im being a sarcastic jerk that time 🤣 its more the annoyance of dcing under whatever condition. They have a mori, DC. They hit me early DC!

  • Survivors have no problem with DCing because of a killer slugging. So if i get pallet stunned and dc as killer is that ok?

  • If we are talking about toxic behaviour, the death threats and comments to kill myself are unwarranted

  • The problem with exhaustion is similar to the problem with old ruin.

Against good survivors exhaustion is a minor annoyance, but easily worked through.

Against bad survivors who depend on exhaustion perks to carry their game, it is stupidly strong.

Ultimately I think exhaustion effects should be buffed and encourage better skill. Thats just me tho.
