Slight nerf to survivors every patch really
-
I think the only thing that would be balanced would be your third point.
Even if console has map advantage over a PC player, it would still be an easy 4K or 4-Man escape.
There’s just too much advantage on PC VS Console. For example, Nurse is still red rank viable on PC, whereas she is a joke in red ranks now on console.
Also, I forgot to mention, devs don’t play enough console to care in the first place.

Do people not understand that Blood Echo debuffs everyone injured, it could literally replace sloppy butcher and provide a counter for dead hard. Zenith can help new killers figure out map loops and what bad rng the map provides. Nemesis will be a counter stun perk and replace Enduring since it will debilitate survivors when they stun. It will also stack with PWYF and give you bonus speed just by getting stunned or Furtive Chase and Remember and always get a guaranteed obsession hit/hook.
Nemesis replacing Enduring?

They never dodged the event exclusives. They've explained many times why those are included. Same with legacy. Charms are a completely different story. They're so tiny they're hardly even noticeable anyway.
That’s what they say, but who’s fault is it that cosmetics were lost, the players? If you call that a “solution” why don’t they just reward every player 100,000,000 bloodpoints since that’s what was earned from about the time of earning cosmetics??
Charms or not, exclusives are exclusives please understand the point.
-
Here at BHVR, we don’t believe in excluding people. We’ve decided to give all cosmetics that were being sold online to you for free due to the fact that codes were being sold for an absurdly high price and affecting our consumers negatively.
No codes were ever distributed for the event cosmetics-that you had to grind away tokens for, during a very limited amount of time you say? Let us just conveniently dodge that question. Legacy you say? Well, hold on there, those are exclusives.
Also, we’d like to inform you that charms will stay exclusives unless you’ve decided to go with the paid version of the archives of course.
One more thing while on the topic of exclusives, we’d like to reward Fog Whisperers with exclusive charms that won’t be available to anyone else.
We hope you enjoy your time here at BHVR Interactive and remember that we don’t exclude people anymore, unless you don’t have money, aren’t a Fog Whisperer, or are a console player. Enjoy your stay!

I don’t think it’s the maps that are problems. It’s the mobility of most killers.
Notice how Nurse, Billy, Spirit and even Freddy can do well on these maps at protecting gens. When, let’s say Clown, can down survivors relatively fast, yet cannot apply gen pressure across these maps.
Its a common misconception to look at the maps and blame their size for a killer’s disadvantage, when in fact it’s the killers mobility that is limiting their potential.

Frames also effect killers differently.
Doc runs at low frames thanks to all his visual effects.
Plague drops frames when vomiting.
Myers drops frames when hitting a different Evil Tier.
Wraith sometimes stutters during the "windstorm" effect of uncloaking.
Etc, etc, etc.
Bloodlust is actually counterproductive, it’s supposed to help you but instead makes the frames drop so low that you end up missing a lunge/swing and lose the chase.

First, the game is made for PC, nurse was already worstto play on console, what just cant be changed. Second, assuming with such little changes that Spirit wont be RedRank viable shows to me that you are just salty, cause thats nothing that could happen at all with these changes. So instead of being salty and ranting without any second thought, you should pratice to be more versed with killers, cause you obviously can also have good matches with those "lowranked" killers.
Try playing Nurse at red ranks on console then I’d love to hear what your experience was
-
Happened to me too, they just gave up, I guess....
-
Console needs love? Understatement. Console needs a director who can oversee the importance of the issues at hand and find solutions to the core problems of what make console less desirable to play in the first place.
As for Nurse, I agree and disagree at the same time. For red ranks, you will now only see Billy, Ghost Face, and Spirit (who knows for how long). I’ve tried the new nurse on console, I’ve challenged myself to her on the most difficult maps. Would I say she’s nerfed? Absolutely. Would I play her against a strong 4 man this time around? Absolutely not. She will gather dust while survivor queue times increase. Here she is with my results after her nerf. Keep in mind this was more frustrating for me than it was “fun”.

The only cosmetics that aren't returning are either ones that they confirmed are exclusive (Legacy) or are within a contract with a developer/streamer (Diatech, Twitch, ect).
That’s EXACTLY my point. Further adding to the function of the “exclusive” argument.
It has made exclusives even more rare now and valued at much higher than they’ve ever been, emotionally and/or monetary-wise.
-
BHVR should not have made “all” exclusive cosmetics free for everyone until they actually meant ALL cosmetics. This is just excluding people when their whole point was to not exclude people.
This action has only aggravated the veteran community and others, while further dividing people, regardless of them being right or wrong.
-
No confirmed answer yet. Seems to be dodged quite a bit though.
-
I hope people get punished more often for DC’ing, I can’t tell you how many times a survivor does this, especially on Xbox where there’s a small enough pool already.

As it rightfully shouldn't, and the grind has everything to do with it actually. The devs won't bring it back because it was so hard to prestige back then, and they are loyal to the ones who worked hard for it
But not loyal to the one’s who grinded out the event cosmetics, which was the only thing they ever had a chance to grind out right? I’m speaking on behalf of Console players if you don’t understand.
-
the majority of people saying they don’t care never owned the cosmetics. Or, claimed they did but somehow don’t seem to care that they put in the grind for event cosmetics. Which is in nature, contradicting to one’s own effort to claim and hold.
-
Spirit is like all there is at red ranks, besides that sometimes it’s Ghostface. Even Billy is rare.
I feel bad for console survivors who are gonna have a fun time waiting an hour to play a 10 minute game. As if the queue’s aren’t bad enough already.
-
everytime BHVR does something like this I believe they care less and less about their veterans, more specifically console players.
-
Try not to let them out of your sight, predict their movement and stay close to the scratch marks. It all comes down to your experience as a killer AND as a survivor.
Sound is most important for the grunts of pain and movement in the bushes, but that’s out of the equation for you.
-
Legacy for console
Besides that, a bikini outfit for Meg and Jane.
-
I think they should have just combined the effects of Babysitter with WGLF instead of making it an entirely different perk. All they did was increase the grind.
-
Exactly why I refuse to purchase the Switch version.
On top of not being able to carry over progress, I knew this version of DBD was being rushed out to meet the release date. It was never ready in the first place.
-
Did you get tunneled or something, why the low score?
-
Slug, it’s really the only way.
-
dont worry, safe pallets and vaults are already being nerfed first.

As far as we know only the charms may be exclusive but we are not sure if all will be. The skins themselves should be released on the store after 6 months or so.
The Met trapper mask isn't actually and exclusive it's a reward for purchasing Deathgarden which anyone on PC can buy. Unfortunately it's not out on console yet but if its released they did say it would then be available.
The switch skin well that's just a way to get people to buy it on a specific platform and again not exclusive since it's open to everyone. Most games nowadays do this be it for a pre order or platform exclusive.
McCote's words were primarily for event skins as they used to be tied to the period of the event and then you had no option to get them.
Now everyone has the options to pay to get them be it on the store, a platform or the rift pass. It just depends if you feel the skin is worth it the money.
Idk McCote was really clear when he said, "no more exclusives" and wasn't specifying the type of event, but all platforms in general.
I believe Peanits did say that only some skins will appear in the store after 6 months or so. Not all of them, so if you don't buy them then they no longer return.
I'm sorry but at this point I have to disagree with you on what defines exclusive. Not console or even PC has access to the Trapper skin since it is on a completely different platform which indeed does make it an exclusive. Furthermore, it was a pre-order exclusive, only available to those who paid in advance for the game.

Its not just a cosmetic being asked for here. Its a whole character design.
You're also implying BHVR is bigger than Valve in terms of bargaining power. Naive.
It’s money for Valve, a source of income. That’s how business works, if Valve sees it as a source of revenue without a threat to their assets then they should cordially agree. I never said they were less than BHVR in any which way. Try being more optimistic 😄
-
It’s hard when events like Double Bloodpoints, Hallowed Blight, Winter Solstice, etc. all reward you for trying your hardest.
Add-ons like keys, Iridescent Heads, Mori’s, and inst-heals all encourage people to try harder and increase toxicity as well.
-
@Mr_K said:
Good luck getting Valve to allow such a thing. Maybe after HL3 is released.
We’ve gotten many other cosmetics for other licensed characters, why would Valve be any Moreno of an obstacle to BHVR now?

Dying Light
Thanatophobia
Ruin
PGTW

I’ve downed just as many survivors by “mindgaming” aka standing still, as I have from phasing.
She really needs more indicators to go off of. Then buff her passive phasing add-ons if you want to make it more difficult to detect her actual phasing.

Where’s an option for Yamaoka Estate??

Spirit definitely needs nerfs, you can’t mindgame someone who just stands there.

Just a quick reminder that the community team is made of human beings, with schedules, jobs, families, so don't expect everyone posting in here 24/7, there's also a lot of work to do in the background that needs to be taken care of.
Thanks @Rizzo90 I know they’re human beings who live eat and breath air just like the rest of us. My concern was that this is the longest I’ve seen silence since the forums began.

What's going on?
Well, other countries exist besides yours, and it's currently a holiday weekend in the country that employs the devs.
Where is the involvement?
Hopefully it's with their families, at home, enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday.
Oh I’m sorry for asking for an answer that should have probably been addressed by a transparent company sooner, considering most of the playerbase reside OUTSIDE of Canada.
Expecting us to know or to assume such a thing is the equivalent of me expecting you to know that it’s Ohi day in Greece in two weeks .

So what is the concern exactly? We know they're active because they've been closing/moving posts recently. Unless there's a post that requires attention or is asking a question of them directly I don't see why they would respond other than just out of their own personal fun.
That’s a dev saying to follow the forum rules. That’s not exactly constructive. If they just move the post to a different category it says “mod.” It doesn’t mean there’s any real involvement.

You can’t. It’s only possible on PC for some reason.

I’ve mained nurse on Console for the last couple months. With the right console (Xbox one X) and monitor, she’s a beast. Not the same amount of frame drops and I get to use a different killer besides Billy or Spirit when it comes to SWF (I play in red ranks).
With the upcoming changes, I feel she may be a lot weaker on console as she’s already frustrating enough to play as it is.
People on console never really gave Nurse a shot because of the poor optimization and because she’s the hardest killer to learn.
That being said, this will turn away more console nurses with the nerfs than it already has done.

An RNG wheel isn't a restriction.
Restrictions are stuff like: Run No Mither, no fast-vaulting, no unhooking others, etc.
I see. I can do that, but does it mean that everyone else will? I doubt other killers would be willing to stipulate such changes just for the sake of poor balance.

I don't agree that counterplay means it is not warranting the UR rarity. It just means that it is more balanced than before.
But you didn’t comment on the comparison to Huntress’s Iridescent Head, only to BNP. Am I to assume it’s also balanced from your perspective?

So restrict yourself.
trust me I’ll play perk wheel and still get 4K’s on randoms.

Pounded into the dirt?
In terms of those Add-ons, it's more like they were pushed down the mountain to land on level ground.
As for your other comment, I agree. It wasn’t pushed down as the only real ultra-rare item for survivors (LOL at odd-bulb and BNP) and no we it’s been pushed down. I wouldn’t say common, such a small your analogy to “ground level” but somewhat higher than that.
-

When’s the last time you had trouble against a random 4 man ? I can play any killer I want and not have to struggle against them. it feels more casual than ever.

In order for that comparison to hold water, you have to prove that Syringe was nerfed just as hard as BNP.
My comparison was merely to show that an item being nerfed such a small BNP needed the rarity change that it never received.
Considering that with the Syringe the killer maybe not give you the chance you fully heal, it can be completely negated; thus, deserving a rarity nerf.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I don’t know what deludes the player base into thinking we’re entitled to stipulate the criteria for what should and should not qualify for Ultra Rare.
To counter your idea that players are deluded and don’t think they can stipulate criteria to blatantly obvious changes, how about this logic: before the BNP nerf, the item was considered ultra-rare. Fast forward to the update that changed BNP and it is something most people would skip in their bloodweb as it no longer holds the SAME VALUE as it once did. The fact that it was ultra-rare before in no way constitutes it to be ultra rare today.
Same thing with the Syringe, before the PTB it would instantly and completely heal you, meriting it’s status as Ultra-Rare. Today, it is now able to passively heal you. It does not hold the same value, therefore it should not receive the merit of ultra rare. It is in no way comparable to say, an ultra rare Iridescent Head from Huntress.
*(BNP needed the nerf but also to its rarity)

Are you suggesting it would be fine to use more than once?
I’m suggesting the rarity be changed to what it ought to be not what the past version of it still holds it as. It is no longer “ultra-rare” rare or very-rare at the most.
