If only there were items and perks that survivors could take to show them exactly where the totems are.
Imagine if all 4 survivors used Small Game? You really want that happening? Say goodbye to Hex Perks in general then.
-
Anyone who’s played her before can still play her. The part that the devs don’t understand is that her basekit nerf made her stressful/annoying to now play. I feel like this is one of the reasons there’s no red rank killers. Dark days is what it feels like.
I trash her dailies now just so you know.

What will tier 1 and tier 2 do? The speed boost is there just for the tier 1 & 2, it would be nice if noed could increase instead of the movement speed the number of totems on the map.
That would actually be a great idea. However, it would be quite obvious the killer is running NOeD. With Hex NOED: Tier I/II/III increase the lunge just slightly up until it reaches Myers Tier 3 lunge as an equivalent.

I don't see the problems. Do totems instead of Gen rushing off the bat. Don't rely on potatoes to do anything. See a totem break a totem. If all they're doing is hook rushing instead of leaving the person to hang for a minute while you look, NOED is your own fault at the end of the day. If i don't break at least 2-3 totems, personally, and i get hit with NOED i just clap and say gg.
I main solo, so my main objective is and always will be totems until people start getting dropped like.. sacks of potatoes :)
Personally I run small game on every build or if i don't i have a map with the killer belongings addon and the green range addon. If you need to farm maps, take Plunders, play stealthy and wait for the hatch. :)
Thanks for the tips, however I know how to play survivor well enough. The instadown isn’t the problem, yeah I get it the killer needs to feel like they weren’t completely blown out of an 8 minute game. That still does not justify a speed boost. There’s plenty of times survivors have been caught because of the speed boost. Even if someone eventually gets downed, it would change a lot of outcomes or enough time to be closer to the gate, hatch, etc. if the speed boost wasn’t a huge bonus the the perk.

For lower ranks I understand not having all totems cleansed (and solo queue), but for higher ranks if you let NOED happen thats kind of your fault.

Do bones
Please reread! I think if NOED activates then fine, but why the added speed boost? It’s unnecessary and makes the perk more powerful than it should be.
-
there really no point in playing high rank killer. It’s not satisfying and you’re not rewarded in any way at all. The Tome challenges are much harder to complete as well. This is the only game that I’ve ever played that does NOT reward you for ranking up.

There shouldn't be maps that render certain killers completely useless, but that's unfortunately very common. Will this ever be addressed? I know that due to it being a killer problem, this makes it a VERY low priority since only survivor opinions matter but I thought it was worth trying to ask.
There was son data about which maps have the highest escape rate for survivors not too long ago, if someone could find it, please link it. In the mean time, I think the devs keep the maps mostly the same as they are now to give everyone a game of chance.
It’s true that maps such as Coldwind Farm and Haddonfield are more survivor sided, but at the same time we must consider maps such as The Game and Lery’s which fall heavily in the Killers favor.
If you’d like to play Clown and suspect you may be going against optimal survivors, I suggest you throw on a smaller map to limit the amount of mobility necessary by the Killer.
Note* I am not saying that burning map offerings is a solution (as they are finite), but it is a temporary token you can use in your favor when wanting to switch up your Killer or play style.
-
Not if I don’t mean it. If the killer or survivor plays optimally and does their best to respect each other, then yes I do, even if I get pallet stunned all game.
My choice is to use “gg” as a sort of “cheers 🍻” for the player doing very well in the game, otherwise, I’d like to keep value to the term as it’s tossed around to casually these days.
-
Here’s where we have to agree to disagree. I don’t believe that a solo player who worked there way into red ranks season after season, year after year should have to put up with a rank 17 who has 3 days played in the game.
The same way I don’t believe a Killer should be blind to 4 toolboxes/flashlights/insta heals that a Squadette SWF group brings in.
If the devs are going to implement one set of rules, they should do it across the board the ensure fairness to every player. This type of information was necessary to solo survivors and this double-standard treatment is really a can of worms that the devs have opened up that will continue to bug the player base, no pun intended.
Now be honest, would you want to queue up as a red rank survivor into a game knowing this could be your team every game? Cheers 🍻
-
Ask any Nurse players past or present that are on these forums and I think you’ll have an answer.
-
Use Small Game to get rid of the Ruin early. If you need, try Deja Vu along with a stealthier build so you can knock out one of the 3 closest gens.
You don’t have to be a full-on gen jockey, but if that’s your team’s Achilles heel, then I’d suggest you get it knocked out as soon and efficiently as possible.

Not at all as it not my logic I'm simply repeating what was said.
But I will add while seeing a toolbox or flashlight helps the killer by allowing them to pick certain perks knowing how low rank someone is doesn't really tell you anything as they could be a 2k hour player with more skill than the others coming back after a break.
One gives info which by design is to help while the other allows for assumptions on how well the other can play.
That would make sense if as a killer I can see which type of items and add-ons the survivor has, however, it does not.
I’ll give you an example: 3 of my friends and I were playing SWF, our builds were No Mither along with Broken Keys (no add-ons) literally just that one perk and broken keys. To this test, we were dodged every single game and the very few that we weren’t, the killer brought a Mori. The killers would then message us and would say something along the lines of, “didn’t know you guys were memeing... I thought I was gonna have to sweat.” etc.
This is merely the cherry-picking version a killer has had from the games launch period that a survivor is not allowed to do for the devs reason of “dodging” therefore deeming it a double standard.
-
I think she’s still great and I wouldn’t necessarily call her collision change a “nerf” though.
- She can phase to a survivor at a pallet without the survivor knowing she is there since her collision no longer give the survivor the indicator in which they could immediately drop the pallet when they feel her collision occur.
- The second reason is that when survivors are body blocking an injured survivor, she can now phase through them and down the injured survivor instantly, (assuming you’re good with your ears).
As far as the vaulting change, it hasn’t affected me personally at all, as I usually fake phasing while at a window to read the movement of the survivor, then proceed to actually phase and down them.
Add-ons: They seem to work very well still, the Wakizashi Saya and Katana Tsuba still give you enough of a speed-boost to make a difference and down the survivor.
The Amulet on the other hand says “slightly decreases movement speed while phasing” but it actually makes her feel much slower and in my opinion, isn’t worth the duration extension that comes with it. As for Prayer Beads, this one was a nerf indeed; however, it actually is fun to play as-as it gives more mind games to the team you’re going against since they never know if you’re coming to them or not.
Hope this helps, try them out for yourself though!

Because seeing the survivors items is needed for the killer to set up.
I've always said something needs to be done about dodging in general but to do this you don't start by adding something which adds more dodging.
That’s exactly my point, your giving me double-standard logic.
My argument remains the same, if I know there’s a rank 17 in my lobby and I’m a rank 1, I should know maybe this game I should use BT or even a Key as apposed to running a meme build I just wanted to have fun with.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
It was never intended and the possibility was discussed but your reasoning is why it was removed as there was an increase in lobby dodging.
@Fibijean said:
The devs have been pretty firm on this particular issue. As long as it's being used to dodge lobbies, they don't want to have it ingame.
The main reason for that is that lobby dodging increases time spent in queues and lobbies for everyone involved. Because they're currently trying to make changes to the matchmaking system to minimise queue times, they feel that it would be counter-productive to leave a feature in the game which does the opposite.
The same logic could be applied to Killer’s seeing survivors items, which has been in the game since the beginning, wouldn’t you say? If so, why make survivors play a game when they don’t feel like the, say, rank 15-can be something to prepare for or to dodge?
-
To answer your question: no one really knows. A dev might be able to answer the original question though.
-
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s the lack of killers at red ranks. They’re just not as interested in the game as they used to be.
-
It’s far-far worse if you’re playing Killer. Specific maps combined with bloodlust make it extremely frustrating and discouraging to play.
-
I don’t, or better yet, I used to. Game’s just not as fun for me anymore, but oh well.
-
I think it depends on which rank you’re at, at red/purple rank, killers are almost nonexistent. If it wasn’t for the Time challenges, I can’t imagine how much worse queue times would be.
-
@GodDamn_Angela if you think that a sad-deflated Halloween pumpkin sitting on top of a generator was an “event,” then I can’t possibly imagine what your expectations for this game are.
-
I called this from the beginning.
This is meant to be a band-aid fix to temporarily and artificially inflate the number of red rank killers while they think of a solution to the decreasing number of high rank killers.
-
You’re in for a long, long wait.
-
Seems to me as it’s meant to be a band-aid fix for the lack of red rank killers.
This will artificially increase the number of killers available to play high ranks until they realize how unfun red ranks are. These killers will then switch back to red rank survivor, only to create further disproportion of survivors to killers ratio.
Perhaps this system was made to buy the devs enough time to try to figure out a proper solution.
All speculation though...
-
apparently so hard they canceled it
-
Hey that’s great, I mean it! I’m sorta right there too, I took a 3 week break and only come to play when one of my friends bugs me too.
The reason I stopped was because this game wasn’t rewarding enough with the added stress that comes with it, the annoying bugs, and the fact that console is so bad to play on for killers.
When I do play this game (quite rarely now), the survivor queue times are insanely long, so I end up playing Modern Warfare. I’m assuming other people are feeling a similar way If there’s not enough killers at red ranks?
To anyone else feeling frustrated, I ask you to please try a different game. You will enjoy being able to feel rewarded for your frustration at the very least. Most games also don’t have as many bugs!
-
Not as much, maybe 1-2 times a week now for about an hour or so. I just find other games more enjoyable and rewarding for the amount of time and progression put in is all.
I would say to you to try another game. I didn’t want to for a long time because I was too busy too look into other games. Thankfully, a friend of mine gave me a code for Modern Warfare, and I am actually spending most of my time on there, while slowly letting go of DBD.
-
Haven’t you heard? “Wasn’t intended” “was a bug” “wasn’t supposed to be there” or whatever you want to call it, is just a cop-out to change things to the devs liking nowadays.
-
Go look at my last post on why it’s NOT. At least for the endgame collapse.
-
They over nerf to compensate on time. They do not want to have to come back to fix something, so instead they make it nearly unplayable. Look at MoM.

Well the thing about Legacy skins is different cause those are PC only and if they were to put those on console it would upset the PC players that earned them we just need a compromise about the 4 event cosmetics I don't think we're missing out much on Legacy skins cause we have fully bloodies so that's something.
So if I buy Dead By Daylight today for my PC can I buy Legacy in the store then? I know I’ll have 0 total hours played, but it’s fair if they put it in the store right?
-
While they’re at it they should put Legacy in the store too right? It’s not like they were obtainable during a limited time event or anything.
-
You want the real reason? Yui is more marketable in terms of reaching a target market than Adam is. More marketability = more money. Simple as that.
-
Yeah I keep hearing the same thing. I haven’t played DBD going on 3 weeks now and from what I understand, the survivor queue times at upwards of 20 minutes, sometimes only to get dodged and have to wait again.
You might want to start asking why though. Are killers not being rewarded accordingly, is it just too stressful to play red rank games as Killer, or have people just got burnt out or even like myself, found something new to play?
-
“tRyInG tO bRiNg SoLo’S uP tO SwF”
-
I’m right there too. I feel like I’ve been playing this game too long, so I recently took a dive into Modern Warfare (a completely different type of game) and I actually really like it. I haven’t played DBD in almost 2 weeks!
I do notice there are a lot of similarities in the games when it comes to marketing, charms, season pass, challenges that must be completed by the time the pass closes, etc.
This kinda gives me an idea of what the games intentions are as of right now.
-
Depends on the rank really
Theres little you can do at red ranks except use Spirit, Freddy, Billy (Nurse on PC).
You really need high mobility killers and the right perks just about now
-
She’s gathering dust on console. Glad I never wasted on cosmetics for her, and I probably never will now.

How so?
Do you feel the same way about Plague? Because imo, she gets far more free tracking than the Oni does. You can't even interact with anything without leaving a trail of infected items in your wake, whether it be generators, totems, vault points, or even trying to hide in lockers. God forbid she has that iridescent add-on that reveals your aura for 5 seconds whenever you vomit.
Plague doesn’t leave around floating material in the middle of my view as a killer, so yes I feel like it is different from Plague, not by much but enough to track more consistently.
Also you have to cleanse to give Plague her Corrupt Purge or put an add-on, as for Oni, all I have to do is keep following the survivor once they’re injured. like that’s all I need to do to power up.

Blood orbs stay around indefinitely until so many have spawned that they eventually disappear and get "replaced" by new ones. That means a blood orb you find around a generator could have been from three minutes ago or whatever.
It also means, that you can just use that to never lose a chase no matter the skill level and immersion of a survivor, soo that answers my question.
-
Tier 61, finished the second level of the Rift about two days after it came out.
-
Are you asking for more ethnically driven cosmetics? If so, most of the cosmetic pieces to the survivors revolve around their past, before being taken by the entity. Hence the Math Winter Sweater for Adam, the Athletic Outfits for Meg, etc.
This does not include special occasion cosmetics such as the 90’s Collection or Wild West Collection as those are not specific to any characters background.
While I do agree they should add some sort of memoir to Adam specifically, since it mentions he is of Jamaican descent, I don’t think a full outfit for him would necessarily be warranted. Perhaps a charm or a headpiece for him would do.
-
Mori’s should be removed from the game, except for the Cypress. Rituals revolving around Mori’s should also be removed. They promote easy gameplay, poor learning habits, and create an “unfun” environment for survivors to play in.
A killer should be allowed to use their mori animation on the last hook or on the last two survivors at least.
Keys should require at least 1-2 gens to be able to activate for use, or at least 1-2 safe unhooks to activate for use.
-
I don’t know exactly why people main any role in the first place, it really caps your skill level by being a main at all. I myself am 50/50, but this meme is pretty accurate in displaying the reason some people might play one role over the other.

Lmao really a guaranteed hard counter to exhaustion perks for 45 seconds every hook with no cool down is bad?
A perk that lets u reuse unbroken pallets even if it has a timer is incredibly powerful.
These are bad perks to u? Sorry we dont all consider meta builds fun. It dont require much skill to play BBQ, Ruin, PGTW, Dying Light or Adrenaline, Dead Hard, Spine Chill, and DS.
Guarantee you exhausted perk? Please reread the description of the perk, it requires a stipulation in order to work. Picking up pallets again, this will definitely work in yellow ranks, again, not a high rank perk to use unless you want to meme around with.
Also, perks don’t require skill in general, the fact that you name perks and align them with skill in the first place shows your understanding of the game.
-
They will still find a way to nerf viable killers, believe me.
-
“Would you mind taking a brief survey before you go?”
”How likely are you to recommend DBD to your friends?” 0-10
”Please explain why you chose the rating you did”

go watch day 1 gameplay and see why
Been there, not every nerf is a necessary one.
-
Because some SWF abuse it ( 4-Man SWF on Haddonfield, The Game, Mother’s Dwelling, etc).
Instead of thinking critically about the issue and coming up with a long-term functional solution; such as, blocking off windows on Haddonfield, creating doors where windows are, etc. The devs thought it would be a good idea to use the typical over-nerf of a bandaid solution instead.
“What’s that, solo survivors get hit harder because of the nerf you say? Well let’s forget about that, we have more cosmetics to work on for you to buy from us!” 💰💰
