So basically what I said about favor the shooter system is right. killers get the advantage if they have the higher ping. It's BS and will always make the game unfair.
I mean literally every video game that works like this has a “favour the shooter” system.
-
You have to understand there are three perspectives here. You, The killer, and the server. Just because it looks weird to you doesn't mean it looks weird to the server or the killer. Lag compensation and the servers tick rate can often lead to this but this isn't even the most egregious as it seems like you both have decent connections.
-
Because like most killers that aren’t blight and nurse he still gets destroyed by predrop shift w. Plus you aint doing squat in small loops that survivors know how to game.

Yeah this turned me away as i didnt know what it was asking of me so i said I dont care that much. Im not signing up for some bs just for a free skin.

Spine Chill working on stealth killers has never had anything to do with the accessibility aspect of it, but boy did they choose an extremely bad time to introduce that particular interaction which was previously not supposed to happen. It got snuck in with the accessibility walkback and I think most people are content with the accommodation out prioritizing the blatant buff, but it really would be nice to have some more info on the basekit mechanics they are working on to replace the perk's HoH usage (which apparently can just be carried over from mobile if they really needed to) instead of this UB/mori test nobody really wanted.
They are changing flashlights to help prevent seizures, thats way too much accessibility changes. They’ll be accused of working too hard and people will start getting crazy ideas that they actually care or something.

The finisher moris not being intended to go live this midchapter does not mean that the ptb was going to include other stuff as well.
I was hopeful we would see some killer adjustments, but I also wouldn't want Twins or Sadako to get rushed out changes for the sake of having changes.
how long has sadako and twins been needing changes? Were past the point of “no need to rush” and are onto pick up the pace.
-
It seems every patch they claim to fix it and every patch it still happens. What's better is that it robs you of your selections and gives you back less BP than you had.
Edit: Launched DBD, started putting what few BP i had from a game i played yesterday into someone, Bloodweb error, kicks me to the press start, come back, perk i got is no longer gotten and I have too little bloodpoints to get it. Amazing.

Once it gets about 75% of the way to the hunt activating, I just assume no one else is going to. I've been the first to die many times because I am the only one who tried to solve it.
I think onw of the reasons Pinhead is so maligned is because people just won't solve the box, and chain hunts are really annoying.
I see it as like showing up to a party and wearing the same outfit as someone else. People will be like well "what the hell now i wasted my time," like buddy if no one had went you'd be wasting your time anyway because you aren't getting anything done when you're bombarded by chains.
-
I feel i've already talked the basekit unbreakable to death, but I also think the fact that this is all tied to moris is also annoying. It's making moris so much more bland, generic, and unfun. Everyone saying that "well if you 4 man slug you win!" and yes okay but why do moris need to be ruined because of it? All they had to do was an insta bleed out when it happens. "But that's not very interesting!" then why did you do it? Slugging is not exactly fun or engaging gameplay for either side and if you wanna 4 man why do you wanna play hide and seek with them now to end the game? Moris are the "reward" for hooking people twice, and you can have fun with it. Now we'll have no more goofy photobombs or teabagging the dying survivor, no more cool mori angles on maps, it's all going to be the same. Oh also better ruin rancor and devour hope because of it, because you can't have fun outside of our predetermined mori system. Rumor has it this is all to sell mori animations, get ready for more FOMO content everyone. Moris are going to become more rare for your weaker c tier mains in order to make those purchased or rift obtained mori animations feel more "special." What a garbage system. Go back to the drawing board behavior.

@Thusly_Boned said:
Are we talking about a chain hunt? I might suggest that someone solve the box. One of my biggest solo gripes is that many of my teammates seem to think the box is just part of the environment or something.
I think the problem is many people are to awkward about it. Its like they don’t wanna go for it since someone else is probably going for it.

Jumping in a locker was a common way to force a ds.

People in this thread complaining about a killer they don’t even play just to have something to complain about.
The devs already said Twins are being changed.
Come on, there are actual real balance issues in this game to talk about like Nurse, Prove Thyself, SWF still being able to stack the same perks, healthy hook grabs, Blight's broken addons, that new busted quick gen perk combo (don't know the english name), first hook camping/tunneling being the best 'strat' even though it is the least skillful 'strat', hackers, map issues on both sides.
Don't pretend to care about Twins just because your "side" got a "nerf."
can you please find where the devs said they were getting changes then because I couldn't find it.

I don't know why that is such a common myth, but there was no mettle of men ptb, the Devs leaked the perks with a console update accidently and added the Chapter soon after.
As for examples that never made it to live: Legion changes (downing an injured surv in 3 instead of 4 of I remembere correctly) and Selfcare changes (you heal yourself faster, but at the cost of a very reduced healing speed when you heal others.)
i didn’t know that it was a common myth i just knew old mettle of man was a game ruining perk that was warned by players shouldnt come to live. I assumed it was a ptb but ive not been around that long.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The only thing problematic about the update is that they aren't even finished with it because of how many things have to change now because they wanted to address one problem: 4 man slugging.
...if that was even the point? Or is the point the "oooh fancy cinematic mori"? It seems all over the place to me.
Its so weird cuz I remember the whole idea was “cinematic moris prevents survivor photobombing or poor camera angles due to environmental props” when thats like the entire fun of moris. A dev must of got like photobombed during their ghostface mori and lost their mind about it

I was going to make a post about how locker resupplying her traps might be neat, but i don't want to monkey paw any horrible reworks into reality.
she needs find her traps scattered around the map like glyphs. Thats the only way pig will be balanced
edit: Had an even better idea, every time she downs someone she has to measure and readjust the size of the bear trap to fit on that specific survivors head then after that they cant be hooked or downed again until they get the trap off and cuz that would be tunneling and tunneling makes me sad :(

CoH was the best example. It had so many issues conceptually that it has still broken aspects of the game to this day just by existing, and it even entered the PTB in a hilariously powerful state. All they did was keep throwing small numbers adjustments at it while ignoring the blatant issues that it was (and pretty much still is) the only boon that does not require the killer to be anywhere near it, while also proving a benefit so strong and universal that it singlehandedly ruins the concepts of boons themselves for many people. They created another nurse tier outlier and saw(and still see) absolutely no issues with that.
Oops, I said "saw" and "nurse tier." I take no responsibility for any future pig nerfs that may or may not be caused by this post.
Nerf pig give her an overheat mechanic on her chainsaw and make her refill at lockers.

True, but this is the first time they are doing PTB for an early preview for something that is not coming out with the next live update.
I suppose, but i don't expect anything more than number tweaking like “unbreakable down from 100% to 75% recovery speed” or something inconsequential such as that.
-
@OrangeBear said:
You are correct, it's a basekit feature that's always active. Thankfully this is an early preview that is not coming with the next live update so there is plenty chance for feedback and change.
I imagine veteran players are having boon ptb flashbacks and the real old players are having mettle ptb flashbacks. Bhvrs track record of introducing then reacting later really doesn’t instill any confidence

I get tunneled nearly every other game and I don't bring OTR, so expecting everyone to bring Unbreakable as the perk is a complete and utter fantasy. Also Killers have this high skill technique to counter any and all self-pickups. Look close, I don't think people want me to share this but I think I have to.

This is literally only a problem if you actively choose to slug survivors.
in worst case scenario, you have 22 seconds to pick a survivor up, in best case scenario, you have 45. Both are enough to pick a survivor up.
If you think it will ever be 45 seconds outside of a player just not having bill leveled, thats a pipe dream. It will always be 22 seconds and not counting every swf being able to make themselves unhookable. This is a massive swf buff

Yes, i 100% agree. The easiest option is just to dump the whole thing (which they might very well do depending on how it plays out in PTB. I'm keen to see how it goes)
I don’t know if they are willing to eat that time sink cost but given how many things they say they are working on to only just never happen i wish this was one of those things.

I mean I tended to not do it but I don’t see the point in avoiding it anymore. People don’t appreciate playing the game for fun and instead only wanna win so I’ll just play the same

Honestly if it goes live with any form of unbreakable basekit that is NOT endgame (all survivors hooked, 1 left, cause thats where the changes direct anyway right?) i will just wait for bots to finally come so i can play chill A.I sessions. Sure it will get boring but better have some ai dbd experiences now and then instead of sweatfest tournaments every online session. Youre not forced to play every day after all. So yeah ive alredy got an emergency plan for this x)
Honestly may do the same. What got me into this game was my friends wanting to play swf and even though this update will reward swfs super hard im just not interested. I play both roles and i know how absolutely nerve wracking it is as killer to get at least two people on coms playing as strategically obnoxious as possible, doesn’t matter how. Seeing this update info by itself is crushing because I was just starting to enjoy killer again but i can see it becoming a miserable experience with this change that I dont think i can handle anymore.

@Nazzzak said:
IMO this update isnt even about the current slugging. It's about keeping hooks relevant in future. Finishing Mori has the opportunity to end a game with little to no hooks, as it activates not only on a full team slug but a combination of dead, downed, and hooked survivors. Basekit Unbreakable encourages killers to keep hooking. The latter wouldn't be needed without the former, and vice versa.
Then they shouldnt bother at all. No one cares this much about moris to want them to completely revamp the game and make it worse for some killers and players. They are making a problem then solving the problem by nuking it.

You should know that Sluzzy will never think the game is balanced until Survivors have five health states, 120% movement speed and have the ability to kill the killer.
really makes you question why they bother playing this game at all.
-
@Hex_Llama said:
They're testing it nice and early, while they're still working on it, and that's a good thing.
I will be curious to see how it goes on the PTB. The biggest issue I can foresee is that people already do trolly builds where they make themselves impossible to hook and then run either Unbreakable or No Mither so that, when you're forced to slug them, they can just get up again. If they really have unlimited pick-ups with the new system, they'll get even worse.
I mean considering this update was set for around halloween it isn't that early. Probably too late for them to cut their losses and consider this a bad idea. They need to go back to square one with this crap.

So if two survivors are off a generator, what do you do? Is that the question?
Oh no two whole survivors not doing gens. Its not like survivors can solo a gen in 45 seconds or anything…
-
I guess cuz they are tired of people complaining about starstruck nurse and instead of making a change specific to the killer/situation they decided to make a sweeping change to screw over several c and d tier killers.
-
@Dustin said:
For the most part I feel Wesker's kit is almost perfect but one thing I would do is remove the killer instinct from survivors when they use a First Aid Spray. To me that's just unnecessary information that encourages tunneling on a survivor with an already strong killer.
I'd probably remove the addon that increases infection rate too but that's because I prefer direct interactions rather than passive playstyles of fire and forget.
Past that I see him as absolutely fine - Probably one of the most balanced killers they've released in a while - granted the most buggy but that seems to come with the territory when they make a good killer.
i had a thought that it should only give killer instinct if the person cleansed a full infection.

They're willing to ruin multiple layers of balance because of an idea someone had which wasn't even remotely fleshed out to fit within the current rules of the game. Instead of seeing that as a bad idea like most devs would, they would rather change entire aspects of the game to try to make it fit. In a game that has outgrown its initial scope probably 4 years ago.
Feature Bloat is a real phenomena in game development, where you feel the need to add in features that don't fit with the rest of the game. Its one of the most important aspects of organization and cohesion between existing mechanics, and part of why a lot of ideas end up on cutting room floors. I'm not saying that its not a reason, but if it is, they need to do some reevaluating on their priorities ASAGDP. Not even addressing the obvious hacking elephant in the room that continues to be ignored, of course.
quick correction they have technically acknowledged the hacker situation! They asked a question in the player survey to gauge how frustrated players are when they encounter a hacker…i feel like bhvr is really gonna come out and say “ha we were the hackers the whole time” and just shut the game down
-
@jesterkind said:
I'd imagine it's to gauge how frustrated the respondent is with the hacker problem, no?
They shouldnt have to ask. It comes across as immensely tone deaf. “Well we know there’s a hacker situation but if people are having fun with it then we’ll take our time dealing with it like we do everything else that isn’t deemed a ‘priority’”

breaking up strategies that are detrimental to other players is one thing, but they generally need a healthy alternative first. Its the mistake that they keep making and refusing to learn from.
The only reason this change seems to exist is because of the last survivor mori thing instantly ending the game. I say if thats the whole point for this crap then BhVr just dont even bother. I don’t give a rats ass about moris and never have so just dont screw your game health royally because you want moris to be “cinematic” get out of here with that crap.

You don't understand, none of things matter to a survivor who "just wants to have fun" (tm) so they don't matter.
The FoV adjustment at the end is absolutely tonedeaf to the accessibility argument surrounding it as well, makes a real nice extra touch.
Love me some survivors who “just want to have fun” which means either sweating gens or making the killer as miserable as possible. “Just wanna have fun guys smh”

-
I'm personally worried were gonna see a tf2 situation where people will instead start hacking to "punish the hackers" and they think their some kinda watchman hacking against hackers even though 9 times out of 10 they are just good players because the average player doesn't actually know what subtle hacking looks like.
-
@ShinobuSK said:
Or just remove depip as a whole. Its all just a play time isnt it?
No need to make people more frustrated when they depip for something like teammate DC at the start and making it 1v3
And for people saying it will make easier to reach rank 1, so what? Its just 1m BP and you earn several millions just to getting there by playing normally.
I know you had some good ideas but this would be the most simple one without need of messing with emblems and scoring events.
I do think the depipping is the worse part about the grades system on both sides of the fence, because it just encourages a try-hard run until you reach the plateau and frankly I get bored after 2 or 3 games of try hard killer or survivor sweat. Makes me not wanna try fun things or new perks/killers i haven't put much time into.
-
yes. Breakdown works regardless of how you leave the hook.

@brokedownpalace said:
I recently started equipping Saboteur because I was getting sick of Pain Resonance and what do you know, as soon as I equipped it killers stopped running PR or any scourge perk. Out of roughly 30-40 games, a scourge hook perk was only used in 2-3. It's bad luck I guess but this is why I laugh when people say ######### like "don't like [blank]? Just run [blank]."
Yeah this seems to be the luck of the draw with perks like that. Run shattered hope and you’ll never see a boon, run unbreakable and they’ll never slug, run an item and they bring franklins. Its amazing
-
@dugman said:
I'm also a little surprised more survivors don't run Breakdown since that's a direct counter to Pain Resonance and other Scourge Hook perks. Unless you're a god like runner you're going to get hooked once or twice per match probably and if the killer is running Pain Resonance those will be on Scourge Hooks. But if the Scourge Hook is removed for 3 minutes every time someone is rescued from it that could quickly leave the killer with no good Scourge Hooks for a good portion of the match, especially if multiple survivor ran it.
Mind you, Breakdown isn't nearly as good if the killer has no Scourge Hooks. But Pain Resonance is right now the most popular killer perk by a pretty good margin so there's a pretty decent chance you'd get value from Breakdown (probably).
I run breakdown every match and even if they don't have scourge hooks, it’s very easy to create a deadzone if you know the map. 3 whole minutes of a broken hook is insane.

Well, yesterday i can't catch up to a fellow survivor for healing. He was always slightly faster than me. It "fixed" itself after he noticed I'm running behind him.
I also had a Spirit that was way to fast while phasing.
My conclusion after that was to stop playing for today.
Considering survivors move at the same speed it would make sense that you didn’t catch up to them unless you were moving faster than normal. Also how fast was “too fast” for the spirit considering she moves in phase at 7.04 m/s base and Mother-Daughter ring is bugged i believe to move faster than intended.

“Report and move on” you say to streamers who get targeted game after game because cheaters are literally injecting themselves into their games. This is an issue that affects EVERYONE so lets stop pretending like we’re just supposed to roll with the punches when streamers, particularly fog whispers, are stepping away from DBD because it’s literally impossible to enjoy the game anymore.

Considering it's scarily easy for cheaters to get your IP address if you're a steam user and use it to ddos you, and potentially more, I don't think "Toughen up" is the correct response to harassment from crazy people.

Gen slowdown perks exist to punish it..?
My point is, “in game definitions” are a poor litmus.
But there is no way for the game itself to know gens “went too fast” thats the point. For example the game can tell when chases start and end. The op is asking for the game itself to acknowledge facecamping which it currently cannot do so and if it did it would be abuseable 100%.
