Don't think that's intended, the perk reads as repair and healing action skill checks.

Some would define Adrenaline as a 'Win more' perk, typically if survivors get all gens done they are usually the ones winning
However Adrenaline is also a huge anti momentum perk for killer and encourages slamming gens and not healing. I can't tell you how many times I've just barely won a game before the last gen got done and in the endgame lobby I saw multiple adrenalines that if they went off probably would've cost me the win.
I think Adrenaline is one of those perks that if there's just 1 it's usually not a big deal but it's power increases expontentially the more survivors have it. I can't tell you how demoralising it is to have 4 survivors injured and dead on hook, last gen pops and they all become healthy.
I like Adrenaline though, I think if you play well enough to make it to endgame with 3 perks then you deserve it.
I think the same thing could pretty much be said in reverse for perks like noed or no way out, both are perks that I think are fine. Does it feel bad sure, but i think the perk itself is pretty well designed.

Honestly even knight was the same, people just liked him more because of his aesthetics.
Besides him, i mean release legion was pretty bad, but i didn't play at the time so i don't know how bad the reaction was.
Twins with all the bugs and camping, slugging and tunneling was also bad
Trickster was bad to if i recall.
But, yeah this chapter really didn't make the best first impression, it's rough
Didn't a lot of people dislike playing blight on launch due to his camera height being like survivor waist level?
-
Get rid of the perk slot level lock for one. Idk why this is still in the game and it's an ABHORRENT system that really keeps you from trying new things as you want to level them to try to "play with a full deck" so to speak. Steam players (maybe all pc players I have no idea) also don't get free access to multiple chapters like console players do, leaving a fairly large amount of perks behind paywalls (whether it's an in game currency paywall or cash paywall it doesn't matter) Also if custom matches (bots or otherwise) could give a BP at a reduced amount that would also help as they could learn how perks worked and what perks to use instead of trying to learn through random games where the killer has no idea that a newbie is just trying to learn.

If she's buffed, it doesnt fix the fact that her core design sucks.
You've either got anti-loop or hold a 3-gen.
Tbh I'd describe it more as anti-tile. She locks down tiles, she doesn't really keep you from looping. If you're injured there's no real reason to leave the tile so you can just loop her normally (unless she has certain add-ons ofc which she is always going to have because her power design is inherently poor.)

Your plan is already flawed if you're saying that a system will be put in place to filter out actual cheaters. Guess what, that system exists. It's called the In-game report and support system, BHVR set it up. It has it's flaws, but it does work and if you really want to stop cheaters, use it. You aren't stopping cheaters with your proposed methods.

0 similarities in premise or how they are played?
So they aren't multiplayer, online, competitive games that have different builds, strategies, technical skill, teamwork, communication, and progression?
This seems to be an inaccurate statement, no? I just mentioned several similarities. Are there any that you disagree with?
Why does their collection of statistics not matter? Aren't they one of the largest online multiplayer games in the world? Or is it because of those "lack of similarities" you pointed out earlier?
-
I want to reduce cheating in DbD.
And you're not going to do it by this plan, You're going to ban random people who possibly have never even cheated because the VAC ban could of been a false positive and anti cheat systems don't care whether or not you were actually cheating or if your GPU RGB lights trigger it (which is a real thing, Anti cheat systems are notorious for reading RGB programs as cheat software) You may catch a cheater or two, but those cheaters will continue to cheat via other means because as I said making a steam account is not hard, and making an epic account is not hard. This is cutting off your nose to spite your face except you're cutting off someone else's nose.
You're not going to convince people with hypotheticals, circumstantial evidence, and meaningless data from random game companies that have nothing to do with Steam, VAC, EAC, or DBD.

I take it you didn't read my whole post. The numbers work out just fine. If you're having trouble please reread the last sentence of the second paragraph.
Here is the dev article from Riot concerning the 9%.
https://nexus.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/2018/10/dev-removing-cheaters-from-lol/
The 20% is from a livestream event. I'll try to find it.
I am not sure what you mean by examined time and demographics. Can you clarify?
You're comparing apples to oranges. LoL and dbd share 0 similarities in their premise or how they are played. Their collected statistics of cheaters based in their game means nothing compared to VAC or EAC cheaters.
-
What would it take to change your mind?
You won't, I don't subscribe to "cast a wide net catch a lot of fish" when you're only trying to catch one fish. You want cheaters who cheat in dbd, you don't want cheaters who cheated in tf2 10 years ago, you don't want cheaters who cheat in CoD now, You want DBD cheaters and DBD cheaters exclusively. This "Well they cheated before in a different game so therefor" Is nothing, it's just circumstantial. You can't go banning people because of that, BHVR bans cheaters, as in cheaters who CHEAT. Not suspected cheaters, CHEATERS. This is why EAC exists, and why BHVR has the report system. You can reform the report system to make it easier for the average player. Ask for that, not for this.
-
Ironically enough the cheaters i've encountered have rarely been on steam. They are always pc but most likely through epic, aside from 1 that was a BRAND NEW ACCOUNT. What is your system going to do against that? You realize making steam accounts isn't some difficult process right? Like everyone's already said all you're doing is damning people for having a mark against their account in a game that has nothing to do with dbd.

This isn't a bug that's literally how undying works.

Love it when anyone voices genuine concerns then people come out the wood work to say "STOP COMPLAINING" great community we've got here guys. Gideon is pretty killer sided. Once strong pallets are out of the way it's pretty much a giant dead zone for survivors. There's no real loops, especially upstairs.

I don’t understand how her new music fits with her theme. She’s got a bunch of puffy Victorian dresses, and I was expecting fancy violin or piano music for her theme, as it would be music she would probably have listened to. I have no idea where the loud thud thud music idea came from. What part of Nurse’s theme inspired thud thud music?
A Silent Hill-esque creepy piano melody would have been much more fitting
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
The music is really good, but it feels like it doesn't belong to her. If you know what I mean
I agree. The music is decent, but too loud, however it doesn't really fit nurse at all. It's very loud and bombastic which might fit better with a different killer. I personally view nurse as a graceful and methodical killer so i think the music should be more light and airy yet threatening.
-
Yeah no thanks. For one, there's not enough killer variety the higher up the ladder you go due to the fact that some killers fizzle out because they are to weak to compete at a high level with any sort of frequency. For two, any time a DLC comes out people would end up being in matchmaking hell due to the game intentionally trying to force "Variety" for the sake of it. I understand that people get tired of seeing the same killers, but think of it as a way to get better and learn their weaknesses. You're never going to get better if you ask the devs to throw in the towel for you.
-
i agree with your general message OP.
Unlike anniversary bloodpoint multipliers or event items, Event offerings that only work due to specific things during an event are obnoxious regardless whether or not they are cheap in the bloodweb. You often cannot avoid spending BP on them, and even if they will be useable in following years you're never going to not have a massive stack of them due to the nature of how the bloodweb works and their frequency during events.
I would rather them have a secondary effect that can trigger during a non-event period where offering them gave a standard bloody party streamers effect to the match.

The DBD Forum Cycle:
One side has something busted =>
Busted thing gets nerfed way too hard =>
Community freaks out for a week then moves on =>
Goes back to complaining that the side they play is too weak =>
BHVR releases new busted thing to spicy up gameplay =>
Repeat
The BHVR Cycle:
Perk gets made popular with a buff that really only happened to make it worth picking.
People become annoyed with said perk as it's seen too frequently
BHVR then comes and smashes the perk into a million pieces then glues the pieces in a completely different perk
BHVR says "you're welcome" as everyone looks confused
People who consider themselves VERY INTELLIGENT say "you're just doomsaying" when people start complaining after this happened for the 4th time this past year.
-
Here how I personally would do it. Keep it as is with a gen timer. Simple. One of the biggest problems is that Eruption is a permanent status effect on the gen that will pop whether or not the killer downs someone in 1 minute or 10. Several perks similar to it have timers. If that actually changes nothing, (and by that i mean the game/match quality as a whole goes unaffected, not just people qq'ing over eruption) then simply reduce the incap timer OR make the incap apply when you TOUCH and Eruption gen rather than when it pops off. Obviously numbers changes can come with these changes.
-
BHVR is an immensely tone-deaf developer that I think only is rivaled by Blizzard's Overwatch Devs by the amount of just seer incompetence they have as a team. They look at problems and seem to only see a way to nuke it rather than fixing it. All you did was make a perk NOT worth taking BHVR, you did this with Pop, Ruin, Thana, and now Eruption. Learn to use a soft touch or just REVERT instead of nuking a perk from orbit.
-
The lesson to be learned is so long as you get the dbd twitter mob behind your idea you can convince BHVR to nerf anything you want them to as harsh as you want them to.
-
Anyone who says dbd is "just like any other gaming community" I think really need a wake up call. I have played every "toxic" game under the sun (League, overwatch, CoD, CSGO, Etc.) and i have never seen a community or at least a portion of the community willing to celebrate changes that are inherently bad for the game as long as it affects the other side. People were openly celebrating not even a month ago at the POSSIBILITY that Bubba wasn't going to be purchasable. DBD really attracts the worst types of people.

The 2 gens at Myers house aren't a bug though, are they? I don't remember there ever being less than 2 gens. A third gen nearby however is weird. That definitely shouldn't happen. I haven't seen this yet but you're definitely right. With the right perks any killer could drag this out until the 1h mark (or however long it takes).
I know we joke about DBD's spaghetti code a lot but this is beginning to worry me. How can they create new content, when that might somehow create bugs with completely unrelated things? I imagine this is only going to get worse, if they can't find a way to prevent this.
not sure if there was an actual change but last year it was possible in myers house to get a gen upstairs and to be able to walk onto the roof. I haven't seen that variation in a couple months now maybe longer. Every single time it's gen in room to left and gen to the right of the porch
-
I feel like if the devs were any more flexible with their use of the killswitch system we'd just see how much is actually broken and how long it takes them to ever do anything about it. The Mangled bug, RPD East Wing, Lullaby, and Twins are just a few that have been discussed prominently in the last couple days. In my experience so far there are plenty more that no one has seemed to even acknowledged yet, however sometimes these bugs just don't occur every time like the ones that are more discussed.
-
I thought these videos looked familiar so I just looked at your post history, keep up the good fight. Maybe that "acknowledged" on your posts will eventually mean something but first more Feng cosmetics.
-
It's strange to me that premonition didn't get these changes instead. Premonition is intended to be an info perk, and does nothing but give a minor amount of info. Spine Chill basically is doing several things at once even better than what premonition already does and then some.

isnt the only Exhasustion perk in the combo Dead Hard? so it is perfectly viable to string those together?
Exactly, that's why I was confused by their point. It's perfectly possible (if not extremely viable) to string all those perks together as Exhaustion goes away on hook and Deep wound goes away on down.

If BT or OTR are active and you take a hit, then another hit and go down so you can use your DS, you’re still exhausted unless you run the killer and they slug till your exhaustion wears out. So you can’t really string BT/OTR into DS into DH without the killer basically allowing it. It’s a play that could theoretically work but because DS was weakened it doesn’t really. You don’t have enough time to get away & killers aren’t afraid of DS. FWIW, Otz doesn’t even use it in his own survivor games anymore.
Where's the exhaustion coming from exactly?
-
I must say I relate to your situation a lot. I used to love playing killer but something changed and I now feel incredibly anxious to the point of having full blown attacks. It really stinks because it's started spreading into survivor games too, and I've had to basically just stop playing altogether which is not something i want to do. I don't know why this game became so incredibly stressful so quickly as I have played several games that were more competitive in nature and never once felt this way.
-
can attest to this, Had been cleansed and still gave larger skill check penalties as well as decreasing the skill check warning cue timing.
-
Yes, to answer your initially question. I'll go one step further and say even your well received content creators like Otz can influence the community negatively especially when it comes to opinions about the state of the game. I don't blame Otz for it but too many people take his and his peers words as GOSPEL, regardless of the actual effects on the game of what they suggest. I've seen what happens when devs just look at the "top content creators" and say "oh they say x is broken? better fix it" only for it to unilaterally make the game worse. Overwatch cough

Survivors brought DS and OTR, why should their perk turn off in endgame? ESPECIALLY when they haven’t used it all game.
If they got 0 use of OTR or DS then the killer was either incredibly bad or they literally were playing max immersion and jumping in a locker the second they heard a half a second of the TR. If its the second one, or most likely a mixture of the two, then they surely would be able to escape even if NWO was in play.

second chance perks for survivor are anti-comeback perks for killer. The end game perks are comeback perks for killer. they counter-act each other. they're almost same thing with a coin flip.
No, second chance perks are second chance perks. Anti-comeback would imply you are winning and the killer is losing and the perks further increase that gap. Otr and ds arent anti comeback perks as the killer already succeeded in hooking you, if they continue to go for you after being unhooked then they are “punished” by those perks.

tunneling happens throughout entire match. Why do you think tunneling suddenly stops during the EGC? Survivor used DS for end game because it was best end-game perk for securing your escape. With its only use gone, its play-rate plummets. Even OTR is not in top 10 perks for survivor according to their stats. Borrow time is the perk that helps survivors get to next loop to prevent off-hook tunneling downs and now its base-kit so the other use of the perk resetting the chase in off-hook situations further vanishes.
Whether or not you think tunneling or camping in EGC, the point of the match where the killer is supposed to be put on the back-foot and make a comeback happen, is "wrong" or whatever isn't the point of this thread. OTR and DS not working in end game are bad faith arguments. It is not an equivalent comparison to No Way Out.

I know and i am not gonna try to win anything ( this discussion i wont change anything here) , just as i thought game gonna die and developer trying to hold remainder in game , thats why continually changing gameplay mechanics ( like solo survivor nearly unplayable now ) what will happen next time, kind of cheat and hacks will been unseen by developers, if you share that anywhere you wont get proper support.
Then I genuinely don't know what point you're trying to make. Solo queue being bad isn't the fault of people "cheating" with discord calls. Also a lot of things give you an advantage in this game but no one is going to ban you for them. For example having a good internet connection, having a better pc or new gen console, if you stream and you change your perk icons to intentionally avoid stream sniping. These give "advantages" but they aren't fundmentally breaking the way the game is meant to be played. The game is not going to die because people are swfing.

Either comment with something relevant to the topic at hand or don't bother commenting at all.
This entire thread started as us vs them with nonsensical comparisons to OTR and DS. If people wanted to make accurate comparisons they could and would, instead they wanna complain that survivors aren't equal to killers because some perks are different than others.

And i am asking nerf for it? It should not work after hatch closed, it makes lose - lose for the last survivor. Kill should not be free? Like what DS & OTR did before their nerfs.
Remember Me & NWO should not work after hatch closed, they should work only if all gens finished.
You are comparing an endgame perk to anti tunneling perks. You either don't understand how this comparison makes no sense, or you're being intentionally obtuse about it.

And NWO supposed to work after all gens finished, not after hatch closed. If killer killed 3 survivors and closed hatch, this perk should not give them free kill. This perk is makes escape imposible for the last survivor. But i think you are asking for free kills and you are okey with it?
Where does it say that? It says once the exit gates are powered. That's either when hatch is closed or when all gens are done. Rancor is an example of activating when all gens are done, given it's specific word usage "Once all generators have been completed." If we're gonna use this logic then I assume you're also fine with adrenaline and hope not activating once the hatch is closed right?

That's why you implement buffs that are only active if you queue solo.
When you are playing in a SWF, those buffs / basekit features simply don't activate.
This way nobody can complain that they get punished just for playing with their friends.
So how do you do that exactly? You understand that 2 people in a lobby can be together but the other two are not right? So you're going to have half the team have 0 access to any information that is given for free while the other 2 have information they cannot communicate to each other.

With that logic ds and otr should not be disabled because why do you think you're owed even a chance at killing?
You mean the perk that only works at the end of the match is equivalent to the perks that are designed to punish tunneling throughout the bulk of the match?
-
Why do you think you’re owed even a chance at escape?
-
The entire point is to help the games overall health and keep queue times down. If they gave incentives for crossplay off players then player groups of smaller sizes (Epic, windows store, switch, stadia, etc.) would see very long queue times. The hacker situation is not a good excuse to butcher queue times especially when it should be solved directly and not just given bandaid fixes to make players happy for a bit, until they realize that hackers can hack any instance of the game no matter the platform.
