I think I'll start some slug races tonight lol

If it was bannable survivors would begin running to the basement in order to be downed in the area so the killer wouldn't be able to hook them there.
The same principle existed when hooks remained broken by sabotage.
An area would be cleared of hooks during a match and survivors would run to the area to avoid being hooked since they could escape before the killer could reach a hook.

I really wish the devs were straightforward with this information. These patch notes seem like they're hiding something, but that's not exactly new for bhvr. On console it's hard as hell to pivot and hit people but that might just take practice.
And sorry for the #########, Coconut. Some people on this forum are a little too high strung :)
No worries, I can be just as bad lol
-
Thanks for this, I might focus on trying to make Legion work...
Afterall, I mastered hag before she got any buffs at all lol
Imagine taking 5 seconds to set a trap and being hit with a 2 second period before you can move when you teleport... Traps couldn't be crouched over, but that really made up for the stun.
Legion doesn't seem that bad, I just need to figure him out lol
-
I'm on the side that thinks he needs a power rework, but I'm very interested in hearing what Legion mains have to say about his current state.
What builds work best with him and what strategies work best etc.
I mean if we can make it work, maybe he's not that bad...
But I just don't see it right now.

That's how I feel about the recent Spirit nerfs. Basically people complained enough about her instead of learning how to counterplay, so they just gave in and gave her every nerf people were asking for.
Give it a shot. Now that they have this system of marking accounts with earned items maybe you'll get on a list or something :)

I did a lot of testing in KYF. Tried all hooks.
It seems random. I've had all 4 hooks do it. I've had all 4 hooks not do it. I've had only one survivor suffer the issue and one be fine, then the next match it would be the other survivor, then sometimes both of them.
I'm always interested in trying to find out why bugs happen, but this one boggles my mind to be honest. We can't find any consistency at all.
Best logical reason I can come up with is that it's a dedicated server issue and something is wrong with syncing the clients when the survivor who gets hooked.
This would make sense since there's already a known desync issue with some pretty heavy rubber banding.

Well, hold on for a second because he's just trying to see all has changed, and there's really nothing wrong with that in my opinion. He's not even complaining, just curious if there was anything that changed that we wasn't told about.
Anyways, the developers haven't done any shadow changes in while because it causes huge backlashes from the community, which is understandable. The developers are great people, and I can assure you that everything on the 3.4.0 Patch Notes has everything that was modified to The Oni. 😁
Also, I wouldn't believe everything you hear either because rumours can change over time.
I can tell someone, "Oni has a huge lunge range in Blood Fury" and by the time it reaches you, it could be modified to, "Oni lunge is really broken in Blood Fury" 😂
That's all I wanted to know, I figured it was just people having a "feeling" about something or other that felt off.
I can't deny that I'm enjoying the infamy I apparently have now :)

I wouldn't deny that it can be valid, I just know you complain a lot.
Not that that is always a bad thing. It can help bring change. lol
At one point I was wondering why you were even playing DBD because I could swear you hated it.

Meh, it has a lot to do with his Youtube channel tbh lol. It got pretty negative there for a while.
You ever see Ratatouille?
You know that scene where Anton Ego says that he doesn't like food?
I don't like dbd, I LOVE it. If I didn't love it, I wouldn't talk about the issues I see as problems.

No.
But its hard to deny SpaceCoconut's track record.
You can say whatever you like, but many points I bring up for discussion are valid to many people.
Whiny or not ;)
Edit: It's kind of nice that I'm well known enough at this point to even have a track record lol

You're literally searching for reasons to complain at this point.
Not at all. Just looking for information.
I saw on Twitter several people mention shadow nerfs to Oni, but no one actually mentioned what they were.
I figured this would be the place to ask.

“Even if experienced players would dominate lower ranks, they would begin to rank up according to their skill with a particular killer within a short period of time and end up at their appropriate rank for their skill level”
And then they could just switch to a different killer and go back to beating up on weak/new survivors again? Then another killer after that. An experienced killer could easily exploit this by just spreading their play time out with multiple different killers over the month, never advancing much in rank with any of them and continuously dominating all the way to reset. That wouldn’t be fair at all. There’s no way in hell each killer should start at rank 20, that’s for sure. The starting point for all of them still has to be based off your highest ranked killer somehow.
How is this different than what is currently happening?
A player inexperienced with a killer is pitted against Red Rank skilled survivors to be "beaten up" by them. Losing many chances to learn a new killer... or at the very least, making it a very difficult and intolerable experience.
-
I must not have understood this when I glanced at them this morning.
I'm sorry for those of you who don't get them for free, but I'm very happy that they found a way to keep these small symbols of dedication intact.
I no longer have any qualms about Legacy staying as rare as it currently is since it also is a testament to player dedication.
I'm very critical of the devs, but I appreciate this very much even though it's a small thing.
-
This makes sense, but the devs don't care.
They believe they know best and will continue to ignore feedback in regards to where the focus of balance should be.
It's a shame that they deliberately make the game increasingly frustrating to play for both sides.
-
This thread makes me happy.
Go ahead and nerf her. I'll still destroy you.
Your best bet is to gen rush against her like every other killer :)
I've gone against some really tricky survivors and let me tell you, if you're smart it's really easy to beat a good hag.
-
For all the people saying that players are using Legion incorrectly... Make a guide.
I created a guide for Hag over a year ago explaining why she wasn't as bad as people said she was and it helped people understand how to use her.
Then she got a little buff which made her the decent killer she is today.
If you think we who think Legion sucks are playing him wrong or don't know how to use her effectively... make a video guide explaining it.
If you can't provide that kind of proof, people will continue to think Legion is a bad killer.
I personally think he's awful.
Change my mind.

Devotion 50 would be very spooky
I think the highest I've seen is over 10 below 20 lol
Edit: thanks to this I realized I made a mistake too. Not devotion, not character, but PLAYER level 50 lol Then at 100 it resets to 1 and you gain a devotion level
lol dang these multiple leveling systems...
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
Level 50? You could reach that in a week or two of full time play. That's still a new player.
You're still pretty new until you're 1k+ hours in at least with the rate this game progresses and the skill caps.
Even killers like tru with thousands of hours still struggle
DEVOTION level 50, not character level 50 ;)
Edit: I made a mistake not devotion level 50 but player level 50 lol

You get 10k shards by devotion level 50. I'd still consider that obtainable for a new player
How long would it take a brand new player to achieve that?
In that amount of time couldn't they have learned tile layouts and the general feel for pallets and vaults on the various maps? Would the player be considered a new player after that amount of time?

Windows work too
Agreed. Windows are probably the most effective until players get the timing and aim right. Even then, windows will probably be the best choice to avoid the Oni.

@Science_Guy said:
Not sure what history you're referring to since nearly every single killer has been buffed between PTB to live, not nerfed.
I agree. He feels fun, balanced, and so far seems to have reasonable counterplay.
There are several nerfs that could be applied to Oni and I'm 100% positive that he'll be nerfed in one way or another.
-
@Financial_Stability said:
Hop in a locker!
Thaaats right! You heard it!
To stop Oni from continuing his reign of terror, all you need to do is hop in a locker!
Pulling a survivor from a locker stops his Blood Fury and regresses it by as much as it would if you picked up a downed survivor.
So he has to choose, take you out and lose his power, or leave you alone and risk someone else doing the exact same thing.
This isn't too hard to accomplish, so I'll leave it to you to discuss.
You must not know how easy it is to max Blood Fury...
Yes, please counter Oni by giving him a free hook.

They allow you to get these characters/perks with shards. They don't force anyone to pay for dlc.
Free dlc.
How many shards does a NEW player have?
-
All of them have a Twitter account also. Don't get crazy though...
-
@Peanits said:
I'd say it depends. If you're newer to the game, it'll probably help you learn. If you're on a map like Lery's or The Game, being able to see where the pallets are and zone survivors away for them would probably give you a huge leg up.
Shouldn't perks for newer players be general perks so they can access them without paying for the game AND a dlc?
Oh wait, I'm sorry, I forgot cuz money.
-
@Mr_K said:
Its an issue with the current release schedule. Four killers a year is too much. At the same time they must feel three killers would be too far apart and cause players to become bored.
IMO, three killers a year is plenty and new maps can fill the gaps in content. The current model doesn't seem to provide time for bug fixes. Fixes only seem to come during mid and chapter patches where new bugs get introduced to replace the old.
This is probably the core problem.
The same problems and reasonings can be applied to the perks as well. 3 new perks per side seem to be making every subsequent perk set less exciting than the previous ones.
I've said in previous videos that they're painting themselves into a corner with the perks they create and that it'll only get worse.
Maybe the same can be said about the killers themselves... but I see the other side.
Overwatch has 30+ characters and they all shoot guns... So this sounds like a good debate topic at least lol

It's only extremely rare until people realize it's good, and then it's not. Take old Decisive Strike for example. Getting hit by it once wasn't a big deal, but when all four survivors started to run it because it was a free second chance every match, then it was a problem. We'd rather stay in front of problems like that and stop them from ever happening, not wait for everything to go wrong and then react.
Staying ahead of problems like Nemesis & Legion? :)
-
Where is the Killer that interacts with or otherwise uses the Crows?
I'd like to see that.

If you mean to say that we wouldn't show the survival rate between SWF and solo players:
To be fair, there are no numbers on that chart and the requirements to find the data points wasn't shared.
I can make a bar graph too about how many people dislike decisions, but without sharing the numbers and process it won't actually mean anything.
-
@Peanits said:
I'd love to see something like that in the future and make it a regular thing. We would need to figure out what type of data you guys want to see, though. If we do it regularly, we couldn't give a ton of different stats each time (that would take way too much of the data team's time). It'd also be nice to narrow it down to a few categories that would appear every time so you can compare one month to the last.
The thing about we as a community is that you could give out the raw data and there would be someone out there who could sift out the information as needed.
They could also teach the rest of the community how to sift through the data to find anything they wanted to find in particular.
This would show a great deal of goodwill and trust towards the community and take very little of the data team's time.
I know I'd be all over the task of digging through it to find stats and corrolations etc.
Would it be possible for the community to be given a data dump every big patch?
-
Gen speeds suck because there are no other objectives required for survivors to escape.
IF they had to do something else before gens were finished or after several things would happen...
Survivors wouldn't be stuck on M1 simulator for longer than is necessary
More time would be shifted from the survivor side to the killer side due to the extra objectives, lessening the gen rush and giving survivors a more entertaining experience.
It would open up an opportunity for early and late game builds to shine.
More killers would become more viable and the stronger gen stall killers could be adjusted to be more fun for everyone.
This however will take at least as much effort as creating the EGC instead of new DLC so it probably won't happen...
Money before everything else of course.
-
Jokes on you I bought Legion with Iridescent Shards and I'll do the same with Oni-chan.
I avoid giving them money until I see good design choices happening. Oni's perks clearly aren't worth any cash and the killer himself will probably be nerfed at launch...
Pay with shards and you won't feel the sting of betrayal and lost cash when the nerfs come.
-
lol It's funny that you think BHVR listens to ANYONE.
-
Nemesis is the true Boogeyman right now.
There's no way it's going to make it to live... They spent too much time "fixing' Legion just to break him with one perk.
No way it's sticking as it is.
-
Some killer moris are designed that way. Many of the older killer's moris are only in first person.
You can't choose 3rd person view for them.
-
-
Actually no...
I've seen every single DLC this game has released and I knew what to expect.
I'm not disappointed because I already KNEW the Killer perks were going to be clearance sale garbage.
The only one that looks interesting is Blood Echo. That one's going to be good on anti healing Ghost, Legion and killers that can injure and down survivors quickly... but that's probably it. Also, there's no way of actually knowing if you're getting any benefit from this perk.
6/10 because of it's niche use.
The Zanshin Tactics perk is training wheels for newer players that should've been on the general perk pool. I only buy DLC with shards and you should too. This perk has no business as PAID content lol
2/10 because they're training wheels like Predator but for something less useful.
Nemesis might be good if Furtive Chase works with it. If not then it'll be niche on stealth killers and killers that can leave the obsession and come back to them quickly.
2/10 or 4/10 because it's a defensive Dark Devotion.
-
Depending on the skill of the players involved there might not be anything you can do.
1 flashlight = tunnel survivor if they are disarming traps well. Play as normal if they are not.
2 flashlights = tunnel as best you can and as fast as you can. You might just get 1 or 2 sacs
3+ flashlights = .... look at the ground, go make a sandwich and come back during the EGC since going AFK is bad.

Perks like Ruin, Pop, and Overcharge can make time lost by tunneling a Survivor somewhat irrelevant. You also forget that some players may just abuse this system to simply make players unhappy rather than caring for objectives. Yes, the time is long, but some players are willing to waste time out of their life to make other’s Hell.
It sounds like you don't know for sure.
I guess we'll see if it's actually effective or survivors are panicking over something that isn't actually a problem.

Again, losing LoS with Legion is difficult. And while it may be an inefficient way of getting Survivors, it’ll still be a situation that will be abused for tunneling Survivors.
Hence why Moonwalking Legion was deleted.
And the amount of time it'll take?
-
How much time will it take for a survivor to drop because of this?
15 seconds to trigger Beast of Prey, then the time to wait through Deep Wound.
Doesn't sound very efficient especially when it's so easy to lose LoS and cause the killer to lose bloodlust.
-
US Thanksgiving is next week. It might be a better idea for the ptb to drop this week so more people are available to test it.
I know I will be away all next week so if it drops then I'll just be watching streams for it...
-
I really like Pop.
But I suppose it depends on how easily you can down survivors.
If you can down and hook quickly Dying Light and Pop would be good. If you struggle with that then Ruin and Corrupt Intervention would be better.
Thrilling Tremors is iffy in my opinion.
-
The Spirit changes seem fair on paper, we'll see about them in practice.
The Nurse changes are far more reviled for one reason and at the very least it should be looked at again.
From a killer's perspective though, it's clearly too much.
-
Linking a Steam account might give access to more information than is safe...
However, I'd be VERY interested in having our personal stats from the game itself available here.
The same information that's available on the Leaderboard, but maybe setup in a way that's easily sortable so we could see a player's stats in regards to various killers or survivors.
I've always wondered where I stood compared to other Hag players :)

It's validity is dependent on one's own opinion.
To me, the complaint is just as valid as EVERY other complaint that currently exists on the forums.
Which also means that it's hypocritical.
