As a ps4 player in the US i find lobbies in about 15 seconds as well

    Same here.
  • Replace Killer weapons with squeak toys and instead of Blood when they hit Survivors a shower of confetti. Add the “HURRAY!!!” Kind of like Grunt Birthday Party Skull on Halo.

This would happen a lot to me whens in the low ranks while playing killer. Some survivors either don't know how to check the ping else are too stubborn to leave.

Because of it being an ongoing issue to me back then I had suggested something along the lines of below. It went unnoticed sadly so I guess there are flaws in it. If anything I'd think it'd be a good feature to have especially for those killers who get a lot of foreign players joining their lobbies with high pings and not leaving.

Add the ability to kick a player due to excessively high ping

° This will assist in killers having to dodge a lobby of 3 green pings and say 1 player with 1k ping. Developers can decide the underlining limit in which a killer is able to kick.

° Kicking a player under the limit will not be possible so it cannot be abused.

° As a new player joins the lobby there will be a 10 second grace period for all players ping to stabilize in which after that time the killer may kick.

° If an individual from a SWF group exceeds the ping limit. Upon kicking; the SWF group will also be kicked. Else provide a prompt to them that a player exceeds the limit and if they want to leave as well.

I would absolutely love this feature. It’s not enjoyable for anyone if there is high ping. I understand that foreign players have a hard time getting matches, and I’m willing to play with them. However it’s just the accusations of cheating that grind my nerves.

I already bite the bullet and don’t dodge SWF groups with multiple flashlights and toolboxes. They want games too. I just hate being accused of cheating when I’m not. It really upsets me. :(

Honestly, I can't tell a difference, but to be honest something like that is hard to notice immediately. I have noticed however that the "middle of an open field" and "on top of a hill like a god damn lighthouse" totems are still a thing.

Middle of a field are nice for Billy and Leatherface though at least. (Silver Lining, I guess?) the “Free 1k points here on the hill!” Totems are a disaster though >_<

I remember the Pig came out on Xbox before PC last time.

That was an accident with the Microsoft store. Though it was insane how many people were in full rage mode about it.
  • I wouldn’t mind. I would like it myself. I don’t often get hate mail thrown at me. I’ve gotten... maybe 5 or 6? I do have a lot of GG’s and chit chat from Survivors though. Though I do often give hatch for free, so there is that.

Not sure why people wouldn’t want it. You can disable it if you don’t want it.
  • Myers. I like playing against all Killers, but Myers brings true tension for me. Just him having eyes on you from anywhere is enough to make your heart race. You have to be so careful around the map because feeding him Evil is a constant threat looming over you.

His small Terror Radius is also a constant call for concern. Combine it with Dead Rabbit and Monitor and Abuse... you have a recipe for danger at any moment. He could walk right up behind you and pop Evil Within 3 or just yank you off a Gen.

Even though he’s been thrashed with the nerf bat quite a few times, he still demands the Survivors pay close attention.

Devs were talking about removing it in the future. But I dont really have a problem with the hook vacuum because just like @SovererignKing said, there is many counterplay

sabo is garbage, ds is getting nerf. No valid counterplay.

Like so many others you consider Sabo useless. Which is hilarious. Sorry you can’t just run around and Sabo every hook on the map and be totally safe because they are permanently gone. How about 99% them and use it tactically? Or is it too hard to think tactical, and plan ahead like that while you’re busy rushing Gens and Looping?

DS getting a nerf? Oh please, they haven’t touched it yet not to mention thier proposed “nerf” would have been a buff at endgame that gave anyone alive after the gates were powered a free pass to escape.

Lastly, I’m sorry, I must have missed the update that makes it so Survivors can’t body block the hook prompt, and Killers now have Swivel Hooks to hook from all angles. I must have missed the memo where they took Borrowed Time out the game so Survivors have zero counterplay to Camping.

Thats just counter play *at* the hook.

You also have :  Flashlights to stun and make the Killer drop a Survivor, Pallets to drop on the Killer to make them drop the Survivor, Body block the path to a hook to get the wiggle meter progress so they drop the Survivor.

Seriously, you have SO much counter play to hooks it kind of insane to think you’ve got nothing.
  • He didn’t pull the plug, so he’s fine. As long as he doesn’t quit 70%+ of his matches. Though to the OP, dude... come on man. You’re really screwing your team. Not to mention it was only your second hook.
  • I call it fair play seeing as Survivors can still Body Block the hook so the prompt doesn’t show up. However Killers can’t do that anymore.

Hooks aren't supposed to be a very fair thing for Survivors. Survivors already have enough counter play to being hooked, they shouldn’t be even more counterable and safe.
  • What game are you playing where Survivors are trying to escape with DS? They aren’t trying to escape, they are just going to run to the nearest Pallet in full view of me, then wait there so they can Loop some more.

They aren’t trying to escape, they are just stalling. If you use DS to just run to another Loop you might as well just admit you suck at jukes. You just let the game mechanics do all the work stalling the Killer for you, because you’re not good enough to hide or juke a Killer.
  • @ThePloopz

Absolutely. It is the developers fault. However, I’m more than willing to give them a pass and say don’t worry about it. It’s a rather massive update that has many changes to the game, something is going to go wrong. Like at my job, I work with precise machinery. Everything is calibrated to the nearest millimeter. Even the slightest little miscalculation could lead to broken machinery and parts.

Programming is is in the same boat. One accidental “:” instead of a “;” in the code, and everything falls apart. With the sheer size of this update and DLC, It would be nearly impossible to not have something be wrong.

As as a player, it’s disappointing and sucks, but i’ll deal with it. I understand their frustration and how hard it is to get the ball rolling on such stuff. (X_x)7

I think it’ll take quite a while. At least a week or two. I’ve read that currently there are lots of issues. Like one of The Billy’s Hammer skins, the code for it is completely missing from the game after the update. It’s not the only code that’s simply missing, either. I know this is a database problem, but I don’t know if it will have an effect on the certification process. I believe it will and Sony and Microsoft will denie the certification until it’s resolved.
So do you know if they would need to start the process all over?
I believe no, however after the confirmation that the fix patch is ready, they’ll approve the certification of the original patch after they’ve certified the fixing patch as well.

Basically, they’ll hold off pushing the 2.0.0 patch live till after they certify the patch that fixes the issues. Basically we have to wait for two patches to be certified before we get any patch. Then they’ll release the both at the same time.
How did you find all of this out lol
Same certification process Microsoft had for Final Fantasy 11. That was cross platform play between PC and Xbox 360 years ago as well. We had to wait as well back then. Well, PC had to wait as well. Square Enix didn’t release the expansions for PC either till Microsoft certified for the Xbox 360 as well. If there was an issue, the expansion/patch didn’t come out till it was ready, and the hit fix patches were certified as well. You’d download the expansion and 3-4 patches at the same time directly after the expansion was installed. Caused a lot of grief between the PC/console wars debate.

  • The database literally lost the coding for the item. They have to re-input the coding.
  • Dance With Me, Lithe, Quick and Quiet, Iron Will. Killer can’t see jack squat, can’t hear jack squat.
  • @Jack11803

Hmmm... I heard they made them all the same to keep consistency. Like Freddy’s internal skeletal structure extends on a lunge to keep it the same lunge distance as all others. I could be mistaken though.

Wonder if if we could get a Dev in here to confirm? I’d love to know for sure.
  • He’s just a larger character model so it feels slower. Speed and hit box are the same size as all Killers. Same effect like when you play Freddy because he’s smaller, he feels faster and his lunge seems longer.
  • Tbh, I’m a survivor main, but I also play killer, and yes, toxicity adds to anger and so on, essp. EZ comments...but what about tunneling and camping killers? I mean, i get the insidious basement bubba, it’s a meme, but having campers all the way up to rank 12-13...isn’t that toxic?? Nodding head and hitting? You can get triggerd as a survivor as well, and these are things that will never die in online games...bcuz some people are just like that in real life...sadly.
That’s why you have to enjoy the matches were people just play for fun as either killer, or survivor...cuz u know, bad ######### is commin in the next 5.
Not sure why Survivors consider camping and tunneling toxic... just Killing people. They just don’t like the way it’s done.

Toxic is doing something that doesn’t benefit your objective and is done to simply grief your opponent.

IE : Tea Bagging at every Pallet, Tea Bagging at the exit gate, Click spamming your flashlight...

I find that the worst part. So now all surprises and learning curves will be solved for you and that's a good thing? you were the kind of kid who grew up using cheat codes on games during your first play-through?

Uhhh.... watching a Stream to get some idea of how things work isn’t going to completely destroy the learning curve. No two players are alike, what works for others might not work for you. You’ll just be getting a general gist of how it works.

  • The problem really is that Survivors are too safe.

When most Survivors play, they no longer think “Oh #########, I hope the Killer doesn’t find me.” While they sneak around. They aren’t trying to sneak around anymore. There is no need to. Now, it’s “Pop a squat on this gen, when Killer comes close, Sprint to Looping point A and begin Looping.” They have no fear because there are safety places. This is made even worse by Sprint Burst.

There can be no fear when you know you can easily get to a safe space. Being found and chased has nearly zero consequences when you can just Loop the Killer, like running around with a kite on a string.

If they want fear back in the game, they need to find a way to make Looping way, way more dangerous to do than it currently is. You have to make it very unsafe.
  • Truth is, camping and tunneling happen mostly because Killers are insecure. With the balance of the game the way it is, it’s really no surprise. It’s not fun for the Killer either.

Many Killers just give up. Just facing a Looper with the meta perks is enough to make you feel powerless. Never mind facing more than one. If the whole team is Loopers? Screw it. Take what you can get. Besides, Camping has a built in counter. The only real counter to Looping? Nurse.

There is no counter SWF using discord or whatever for the advantage of info relay. No real counter to Gen Rush. You can only chase one person while everyone else rushes the gens. Not the Survivors fault for Gen Rush, that’s what they are supposed to do. It on the developers to do something about the gens being too quick and easy to repair.

The game mechanics are so favorable to the Survivors that even mediocre Survivors have a chance against the best Killers. Replace those mediocre Survivors with highly skilled Survivors? It’s a blow out game. The developers have balanced the game for sub-par play on the Survivors part to equal a 2 death / 2 live match. If the Survivors don’t play sub-par, you will lose as Killer. 1k is best you can shoot for most of the time.

If camping and tunneling is to be reduced, the developers need to change the balance of the game so that Killers aren’t being made to fight a bunch of game mechanics that are rigged against them. Right now it’s all on the Survivors to make a bunch of mistakes with these mechanics in play. If they don’t screw up using these mechanics, the Killer is nigh on helpless.
  • @Visionmaker

I’m avoiding quotes because post are already long enough as is. It has nothing to do with me going off of my “mental picture” of you. I can scroll up and read your post and respond accordingly. I don’t need to quote you to refute your points.

Truthfully, I believe this whole argument is a misunderstanding from the get go. You believe the goal of the Depip Squad was to Depip Killers? That is incorrect. The goal of the Depip Squad was to showcase how broken the game mechanics are in the Survivor’s favor. Depiping Killers is merely a side effect of that agenda.

This is why I’ve been saying you’re being ignorant. You’re moving the goal post from “showcasing broken mechanics” (Looping and Gens done too quickly), to “Depip the Killer”. I’ve told you this, twice now. However you seem to be ignoring this.

You can sit there and justify broken mechanics all you want, doesn’t mean they aren’t broken. You keep citing Skill as a factor, however, you clearly ignore that Skill is dependent on how you use game mechanics to your favour. You have no skill if you don’t know how to use game mechanics. Simple as. Your perception of Skill is completely flawed. “Related” is an asinine word to use, they are the same thing. I never separated the two. Where you got that from, I can only speculate. You seem to have misinterpreted my meaning by taking the word “Largly”, and thinking there is another factor in play that determines your Skill.

I’ve stated Skill plays a factor, however at a certain point, Skill becomes a non-factor in the face of overpowered game mechanics. That’s called the Skill Cap. You can’t do any better, the game mechanics disallow for Skill to overcome a problem. This is what makes a mechanic abusable in the first place. Your notion of Skill is highly misinformed. There are points in the game that no matter how Skilled the Killer, game mechanics being too in favour of the Survivors makes the ability to use game mechanics in you favour as a Killer impossible, simply because the mechanics in play favor the Survivor too much.

This is is why I called your points “Whataboutism”. You’re hypocritical in the sense that your criticism hinges on the fact that a Skilled Killer can do something about these easily abused mechanics. When they, in fact, cannot.

You can not change the hit box sizes. You can not change that the Generators have a base repair time of 80 seconds. All you can do as Killer is pray the Survivors make a large about of mistakes when using these mechanics against you.

    Your “Whataboutism” is this :
”These game mechanics are easily abused by high rank skilled Survivors”
    ”There are skilled Killers though!”

Full stop, right there. There being outlier Killers like Tru3, Marth, Entity’s Left Hand, King Dime, ect. Has absolutely NO bearing on the fact these mechanics can be abused. The Skill Cap is a cap for a reason. The only thing you can do is play Nurse. She removes the Skill cap on Pallet play and vault play by removing her hit box as a factor via teleporting. This is in exchange for her Skill Floor being much higher than any other Killer. However she also has no bearing on the fact Generators take a base time of 80 seconds to complete. That mechanic is totally on the Survivors. Even if you bring Ruin, if they hit Great Skill checks, it’s 80 seconds. You bring Dying Light, you are wholly dependent on your Obsession dieing quickly. Again, you are banking on your Obsession making a large amount of mistakes in order to Kill them quickly.

You rely on SURVIVORS MAKING MISTAKES, not your Skill as Killer. The Skill Cap prevents you from doing any better. Unless the Survivors SCREW UP using game mechanics that are heavily in thier favor against you, you CAN NOT win. You can actually play the game perfectly, use everything the game mechanics allow for, and you can STILL LOSE. That is for the simple fact the Killers Skill Cap is far too inferior to deal with the Survivors mechanics that put thier Skill Floor so low, that even mediocre Survivors can deal with a Killer.

Your entire criticism is one giant “Whataboutism” because it is hypocritical to cite Skill, when the Skill doesn’t matter once the caps are reached. Hell, the cap doesn’t even HAVE to be reached by Survivors in order the null and void the Killers Skill. Simply because the game mechanics are balanced to give even mediocre Survivors a fighting chance against even the best Killers. This gives Survivors who have passed the mediocre level easily abusable mechanics that make Killers a joke to deal with. Mechanics that make the Killers Skill IRRELEVANT.

In your own words you said “the mechanics need work”. Yes, they do. They need work in order to give Killers who have reached the Skill Cap counter play. To make thier Skill NOT irrelevant. Even the developers are realizing this. Take the recent Pallet changes to make the debris around Pallets taller to allow for mind games where the Killer can’t be seen. This is an effort to increase the Skill Cap of Killers, and decrease the Skill Cap of Survivors. Simply by not giving the Survivors full view of the Killer. They can not abuse being able to see the Killer at all times. However, this is still going to be very much nullified by the Red Stain mechanic.

Your entire critism falls apart because you have a flawed perception on what “Skill” is. Your criticism is “Whataboutism” because you believe Skill always plays a factor in the outcome of matches. It doesn’t. If the Killer Skill Cap has been reached, and the Survivors have passed the necessary Skill requirements to make he Killer’s Skill Cap insufficient, there is nothing the Killer can do to stop them. The cap can not be bypassed.

Now that I have informed you on how your perception of “Skill” is flawed, it shows that you are being ignorant and hypocritical of the experiment. Not only that, but I have informed you on what the intended reason behind the Marth Experiment was. It was not “Depip’ing Killers” it was a showcase of easily abused game mechanics. I have detailed why your criticism is “Whataboutism”. The conclusion that the game mechanics are too easily abusable, by even mediocre Survivors, to make the Killers Skill irrelevant is definitely supported by the Marth Experiment. Once the Killer has hit the Skill cap, it’s up to the Survivors to be insufficient at abusing the highly abusable game mechanics to nullify any counter play (RE : Skill) the Killer may have. The results of Depip to the Killer, again, are nothing more than a byproduct.

Now, please, I implore you. Stop being ignorant of what the Marth Experiment was about. Please, stop being ignorant that once the Skill Cap of a Killer has been reached, the game mechanics Survivors have can easily be abused to make the Killer’s Skill Irrelevant in the outcome of a match. Stop using “Whataboutism” based on your flawed perspective of Skill and how it plays a part in the game. It plays no part once the Cap has been reached, and the Survivors are sufficient at abusing the game mechanics to the point it’s irrelevant that the Killer has reached the cap.
  • So essentially you want to bribe Killers with more BP to play unfair and unbalanced games? Sorry, no Killer wants to take that bribe. The problem is not only the hook. Once the gates are open, the survivors block the killer, so het can´t down the injured survivor. Since they get a speed burst, they can easily take rounds at protecting the injured.

There´s not really much the killer can do.

Yeah, damn those people working as a team in a 4 vs 1 game.

    Hold on...

When the team sucks = "give me my free escape, because it´s not fair that i get punished because my team sucks"
When the team wins = "yeah we are supposed to work as a team, that´s why we win"

    Find the error.

Double standards are real. “Well, we’re supposed to have a team so it’s an advantage for for me... except when that team fails and becomes a hindrance. The game mechanics should change so SUDDENLY the game goes from balanced for a 4v1 to balanced for a 1v1!” Why? Oh, no real reason. Just cause. Survivor privileges and all that. You know, the normal.
  • I’m at DL of 3.5MB/PS and upload of 1MB/PS. Usually Survivors are Green Ping to me. Get Yellows if they are from Japan or China or somewhere else, but I rarely see red pings unless they’re internet is garbage or they are downloading something.

Again people overrate Nurse . Mediocore Nurse is not stronger than any killer . Don't rely on looping every time , god damn it .

A mediocre Nurse is stronger than any other killer unless they're played by an absolute expert. Looping is the game. The devs have been making stealth less appealing with every update.

Simply because no matter what, the Survivor players push for it because of how easy it is. Started with infinite’s, devolved into Looping. Only reason : Because Survivors knew Looping is overpowered. Now suddenly Looping is being addressed slowly and Survivors are losing their minds.

If they cant 1v1 Killers, suddenly everything is “useless, Killers are OP, everyone will quit the game, game will die.”
  • Should have been around before they gave the indicator your unhooker has We’ll Make It. At least you have that now lol
  • She has the highest skill floor and highest skill cap, but she isn't that hard to learn at a basic level, just harder than the others, and a mediocre Nurse is more powerful than most other killers even when played by pros. But yeah, it takes a lot of time, effort and natural talent to become an expert with the Nurse, and at that point you become unstoppable. Overpowered. Broken. Because that's what the Nurse is, she's broken. She just ignores all the mechanics in the game and does whatever she wants, with her only limitations being player skill. Other killers are limited by the mechanics of the game and have inherently lower potential.

Nurse is actually the only killer who is in control of a chase. Every other killer is at a disadvantage and can only react to survivor mistakes while looping, except for the Huntress who can 50/50 certain loops. Nurse is the only killer in the power role. The other killers are reactionary.

I disagree. Nurse is not broken. Most consider her broken because they *think* she ignores all in game mechanics. She doesn’t. The only game mechanic she ignores is Looping. Looping is a broken hit box cheese, however when she teleports, she temporarily removes her hitbox from play. This means the hit box can’t be abused.

Nurse doesn’t ignore Pallets or windows. She doesn’t ignore perks. She simply changes the way you must use them. Fake out a window vault. Run past the Pallet, double back, drop it, slide. People who say she “ignores all game mechanics” as simply unable to to see Pallets and Windows as anything other than “safe spaces.” If they reach them, they are safe, period. With Nurse, she turns your “safe spaces” into mind games. You must correctly guess what the Nurse players next move will be. Will they blink past the window, or will they blink to the window. If you guess past, and fake the window, you win the mind game. If you fake it out, and the Nurse player guesses correctly you faked out the window vault, she scores a hit.

She isnt “ignoring” game mechanics, she’s using them against you to play mind games. Outwit them and keep them second guessing, as much as they must keep you guessing. It’s not ignoring mechanics, it’s changing them into a deadly mind game. Which many Survivor players aren’t very good at.
  • Michael Myers in my opinion. He is the only Killer that can “break the rules” in a trial. When equipped with Judith’s Tombstone or Tombstone Piece and he reaches Evil Within 3, he can Kill with no hooks required or anything.

To me, this means with sufficient motivation and gaining enough Pure Evil Power, he can temporarily overpower the Entity and “break the rules” of the trial, and Kill as he sees fit.
  • @Visionmaker

Exactly my point. You won’t watch the videos, just assume your correct. How cute, ignoring anything that may discredit you. You call Tru3 and Marth outliers, then what do you call Blinky Bill and King Dime? Marth’s squad still soundly beat them as well. Is that not representative of the top “cream of the crop” to you? Or are you just going to write them off as well? You consistently ignore anything that contradicts your argument. Bravo to you as well.

Also, if you think Marth Squad is “top tier Survivors” your wholly mistaken. They aren’t even top tier, the entire squad has said as much. All they did was focus the gens and let the mechanics of Looping do most of the work for them.

In the face of overpowered mechanics the Killer’s Skill is rendered null and void. You can not bypass game mechanics. Only the Nurse has the ability to bypass one game mechanic, and that’s Looping via her teleports as it removes the key factor of hit box abuse.

Unsupported? Please, it’s literally every game. Just hop on YouTube and find any video of some Survivor Looping a Killer. Watch as some Survivor with 100 hours Loops a Killer that has 1000’s of Hours with little effort.

Again, your little “Random” is you going “whataboutism”. You think that just because you don’t know every Killer, they all suck? You think out of 90+ Killers they were all bad? That none of them were top tier, they just don’t have thier names up in lights, so they are irrelevant? If it’s not Blinky Bill, Entity’s Left Hand, King Dime, every single match, that Killer is suddenly trash and worthless?

Calling Tru3 and Marth “outliers” exactly is “Whataboutism”. You’re literally saying “They are special, so they don’t count. What about the rest of the players who are casual?”

Barely mentioned game mechanics myself? Game mechanics and Skill are one in the same. Again, Skill is highly dependent on how well you use game mechanics to your advantage. You’re the one who insist on separating the two. The “product” you speak of is exactly that. You don’t get to sit there and berate the result without taking into consideration the means to which that result was achieved. This whole discussion you’ve done nothing but try to discredit the result without even so much as considering the means to which the result was achieved.

Again, the assertion that the Killers skill is irrelevant in the face of game mechanics being too easy for Survivors is the ENTIRE point of Marth’s experiment. Too easy to Loop for extended periods of time, Gens being too quick and easy to repair, you name it.

You're so fully focused on the result that you don’t agree with, you’re completely ignorant of how that result was achieved and just want to throw the whole thing out.

You’re not poking any holes at all, your just ignoring whatever you don’t agree with and calling it a “hole”. Personal attack? You’re literally being willfully ignorant of factors to support your argument. If you’re going to post at all, perhaps you should learn to take an objective view of things, instead of seeing what you want to see, ignoring what you want to ignore, for your own self support. There is no substitute, I’m literally just telling you how your acting. If you can’t handle being told you’re acting childish and ignorant, maybe you shouldn’t be posting.

Hell, you don’t even realize the whole damn point of Marth’s experiment was literally showing how overpowered game mechanics makes playing Survivor too easy. The results are a byproduct of showing that. The goal of the experiment was to depip Killers by showing how easily abusable the game mechanics are. Do you even know what the experiment was about at all? Or are you just blathering on about the results without even knowing why the experiment was performed in the first place?
  • @Visionmaker

You literally just talked in giant circle. Marth and Tru3 play at a higher level, therefore they represent the higher level of skill. Again, your argument is nothing more that a “whataboutism” based upon players not having equal skill.

    IE : Hardcore vs. Casual.

If you play Casual you should expect to get stomped by a Harcore. That’s the way of it. However, the game mechanics Survivors have at thier disposal allows for even Casuals to stand on a balanced footing with a Harcore Killer. Swap out those Casual Survivors with Hardcore Survivors, they run the show. The game mechanics are balanced for Casual play from Survivors, which makes them highly abusable and overpowered for Harcore Survivors.

Your proclamation about the disparity of Skill of the Killer was rendered invalid anyway. If you watched the Marth Experiment you would know they faced the best of the best. Including King Dime, Blinky Bill, ect. Even thier Skill as Killers was rendered paltry in the face of the De-pip Squad. Skill absolutely does have an impact, however that’s not the argument being made.

The argument being made is that the Skill cap for Killers and the Skill cap for Survivors is massively disproportionate. Once a Killer hits the cap, it’s STILL only effective vs. casual Survivor play. Once Survivors reach the cap, the Skill cap of the Killer is null and void as game mechanics prevent any sort of Skill based counter play. The only Killer that holds even a modicum power over this issue is Nurse, as she removes Looping from play. The Survivors greatest, and most overpowered game mechanic that renders Killer skill irrelevant.

Do not try to “beat around the bush” and dodge the issue of game mechanics. Skill is tied HIGHLY to how well you use game mechanics to your advantage. You do not get to cite Skill and ignore the largest factor of skill, using game mechanics to your advantage, because it doesn’t support your argument.

Though I can already tell I’m talking to someone who will ignore anything that doesn’t support thier argument at this point. You see only half the equation as you see fit. It doesn’t matter what parameters you set forth in your own experiment, you’ll find something to nit pick if it doesn’t conform to your argument. You blatantly ignore variables such a game mechanics in your thought process because it hinders your argument.

The issue is not perspective. The issue is what basic game mechanics allow and disallow for. Continue to ignore this and I will no longer further discuss this with you. I will not try to discuss game balance with someone who believes game mechanics have nothing to do with Skill.

After 1100 hours in game, that is my own conclusion. Tru3 and Marth’s plays just reinforce my conclusions.

Im well aware of Tru3’s faults of gameplay. He constantly forgets which Pallets we mind-games possible, which are not, and often waste loads of time trying to mind game a Pallet he must break. I’m also well aware of Marth’s short comings.

Your total disregard of the Marth Experiment, as well as your excuse of “disparity among the high ranks”, let’s me know you believe the game should be balanced for casual play and “screwing around” on the Survivors behalf. Which is folly. In any PvP you always balance for the top level play. The best of what’s possible. If one side is not up to par, they lose. Simple as, in layman’s term “Git Gud”. If you do not, once they do “Git Gud”, the potential to abuse game mechanics that are meant to be forgiving to those who are not skilled enough is astronomical.

You seem to think the “whataboutism” of the casual player base justifies broken high rank gameplay. “Who cares if high ranks can abuse the balance intended for casual play.” You are using the casual player base as a shield to protect and justify broken/overpowered game mechanics that are easily abused by high ranks.

You dont do that in PvP titles. You don’t balance for one side’s casual player base, and let the hard cores run amok nearly unchallenged and unbeatable. You ALWAYS balance from the hard cores. If you’re not good enough, you lose. Plain and simple. You don’t give one side the option to just say “Screw it, lets absue the casual balance of the game, and just faceroll the opponent.”

It is my proof the game is unbalanced. McLean literally admitted that Marth’s experiment proved the game is unbalanced. They know it’s unbalanced. Stop sticking your head in the sand and using the casual player base as a shield to justify unbalanced and broken gameplay at hardcore level.

For all his faults, Tru3 is right though. Once a team of Survivors hits a certain level, you can’t win unless they screw up many, many times. It gets to the point your Skill as Killer is irrelevant. Just like him, I can 4K. However it has nothing to do with how well I play, or any Killer plays. If the Survivors don’t screw up, and don’t screw around you will lose 95% of the time (Marth Depip Squad shows this).

In no PvP game should one side have the power to just say “Screw having fun guys, lets just decimate and win.” Having the power to do that. You become totally at the mercy of the Survivors making mistakes, or dicking around like a bunch of baffons.
  • I stopped caring who gets what first. It’s annoying, but at least this means I can watch some Streamers play Clown and such and get an idea of what works and what doesn’t work at high rank play. That way I’m not going in blind with a new Killer.

Let the PC players be my little guinea pigs and test things for me.
  • You are correct. The vocal ones are those who have played past Rank 10. We’re mostly competitive by nature. The fact is, for us, the outcomes are what matters to players like us. (Myself included)

The problem lies in balancing the game for the causal players and the competitive hard cores like myself. Though in any game, PvP most of all, you always balance for the top. You make sure that victory is achievable no matter the opponent, as long as you are skilled. You always balance the game on what the maximum potential.

Right now, the issue is that the developers are balancing the game too much for casual play. Of that, it’s the Survivors playing casual simply because they are the majority player base. This leaves the game for hard core Survivors far too easy. It’s a run away game most of the time if you get a SWF team of hard core players. This leaves hard core Killers with near on unbeatable odds. The only execption being Nurse. Her odds are better, but not by a massive amount.

The experience means little to hard core players when all the experience and time invested in getting good at the game means nothing. It’s like working really hard at your job, but you get passed up for a promotion because the owners son wants the position, even though he only started last week and has no clue what he’s doing. As Killer, the better you get, the more you are punished. It gets to the point where the only way you win is by the Survivors making many, many mistakes. It’s not a very fun experience when your skill is irrelevant in the face of overpowered game mechanics.
  • Slow down effect the longer you look at him. Your body becomes weak due to fear (becoming a nervous wreck so to speak).

I would say just a vauge outline of a pitch black shape. The boogeyman, so to speak. Or, if the developers really want to shake it up, the Entity itself has decided to “play the game” and is Killing.
  • @Brady

Would be a real dick move if instead of getting off that gen and hiding from me, you just powered through it and finished it right as I get there and Sprint Burst to safety then.

I don’t call Survivors who want to ruin my game by bringing toolboxes and such to Rush the ######### out of the gens “using a dick move.” So why are Killers who camp and tunnel to “Rush” a Survivor to his death “using a dick move”?

You do your objective, I do my objective. How it gets done is how it gets done. There are no “dick moves” unless the game isn’t balanced for that play. Or is straight up exploiting and/or cheating. Rushing the gens to ruin my game is just a strategy you have, Camping/tunnelling some dude out to weaken the Survivor team as a whole to ruin your game is a strategy Killers have.
  • I’ll buy a lot this patch. I’ve bought every DLC so far and the developers are really actually trying to balance the game, so I feel they’ve earned my money.

Plus, they charge very little compared to most other games for what’s offered. DBD developers are very humble with the prices they ask. Most of this stuff would be double on other games. People are against micro-transactions, I get that. However, when the prices are more than reasonable I see no issue with it. Even more so that you can just play to pay.
  • Don’t see Sony having too many issues with PC Cross play. Final Fantasy 14 is already PS4/PC cross play.
  • Survivors used to be able to see the Killers names.

Until they abused the ######### out of it and dodged all know “X Killer I don’t like to play against (Nurse mostly)” any Killer that camped, Tunneld, ect. This lead to MASSIVE wait times for both sides. Survivors whined it took forever to get games when the problems was they were dodging every Killer they got matched with and had the name for.. Killers had HUGE wait times cause you were dodged because you played a way Survivors didn’t like, a Killer they didn’t like, ect.

So really, blame your own Survivor pals. They kind of screwed the pooch for you.
  • @Brady

I don’t see how it would make Looping necessary. You’re not supposed to get a stun at every single Pallet for a chance to escape. I’m sorry, but if you can’t LoS break and juke a Killer without getting a Pallet stun, or without them breaking it, then you need to work on your jukes. That’s why Killer stuns are worth 1000 points a pop, it’s supposed to be rare that it happens. It’s a reward for waiting till the exact moment the Killer is on you. Instead of dropping it to create a path block and run and hide.

Lots of folks also ignore the random odd tree as a juke spot and won’t even try unless it’s a jungle gym or a building.

It wouldn’t “break” chases. Chases are supposed to be a Killer sided event in the first place. You got found, you made a mistake. It should be difficult to escape the Killer. That’s the whole reason you have more than one chance on a hook, the whole reason you have three team mates. Being found is the Survivors fail condition. You failed to hide from the Killer, you will be punished with the difficult task of escaping. You don’t get to take the Survivors only fail condition, and make it simple to escape. That why the Looping issue is such a big problem. All they have to do is waste 30+ seconds of the Killers time, they win the chase. The Killer wasted too much time.

If if we got rid of Looping the way I said, adding in more LoS breakers and such would just put us back at square one. You can’t put more on after taking away, that just leaves the game imbalanced. The meta perks might shift, but it’s still the same.

Would defiantly need a PTB to test it, but really, it’s the only way to stop the Looping issue. It’s a hit box cheese that negates the Killers speed, they need to give that back.
  • Now that the developers have finally realised that Looping is a broken hit box cheese that negates the Killers higher base movement speed, they are finally working on it. That’s the whole reason The Clown works so well. Him slowing down Survivors successfully counters the Survivors slowing the Killer down via hit box absue so the 15% higher base movement speed Killers are SUPPOSED to have is no longer negated.

Now all they need to do is tweek Bloodlust. Make it stack faster, but less of an amount per stack. This would cancel out extended Pallet Looping by giving the Killer back the speed he is losing via hit box abuse. Right now IIRC, it’s 5% Speed for every 15 seconds. All they need to do is tweek it to be 3% for every 5 seconds. This gives Survivors some more leniency as it’s not as steep at tier 3, however Looping only works for about 10-15 seconds.

The numbers can be fiddled with if it’s insufficient. You either lose the Killer within 30 seconds (45) if you pull off some insane crap, or you hit the floor. No more of this “Stall to win”

You up can still Stealth a Doc. You just have to micro-manage your Madness and scream when it doesn’t matter.

However, I’m open to nerfs on the premise Looping gets made much less powerful. I’m talking more than just he vacuum removal. It has to be hit HARD. Not just down graded from 3 Loops to 2.
