Welcome to the old horror genre. You get used to the sex appeal no worries.
Focus on the stuff you do like and let other focus on the stuff they like
-
You have to use a bit of your own judgement here but when in doubt report them anyway.
If what they said made you uncomfortable there is a big chance it was bad enough to report
-
I think you underestimate the horror that the AI censor has to read on a daily basis.
I would go haywire too
-
It's hard to see people complain about weak perks after what happened to MoM.
They buffed a weak perk and then the community begged for it to be reverted back to a useless state
-
How do you take another survivors chest? Are chest labeled with a name?
-
Going to play the devils advocate here a bit.
A real common answer seems to be to not 3 gen yourself but it's fair to point out that it isn't always in the survivors control.
If the killer chooses the 3 gen right from the start then you are stuck with a 3 gen garuanteed. No matter how smart the survivor team is with gens.
I agree that survivors should look out to not 3 gen themself but it just isn't always in their control. 3 gens should be strong but not unbreakable. Which Eruption is kinda making it against solo's
-
Wanna bet the dc rate would increase cause people want the crying baby face
-
In order to kill their game again they would have had to kill their game once, which hasen't happened dispite what the doomsayers say
-
@Ayodam said:
I mean why’d they change flashlights to begin with? It wasn’t really about accessibility because there are still features of the game that may provoke seizures.
So what you are saying is that we shouldn't solve any problem untill we can solve all of them at once?
-
The whole run at a trap while looking behind you is such a lifesaver
-
I love bite the bullet
I just wish it activated while being healed too cause that is thematically the most sensable time to activate
-
Problem is that nurse relies on her power for everything
Make her power unable to work neqr hooks and then hooked survivors become safe zones which is just silly
-
Awesome!
Sad she already had her tome so any official lore updates are probably not happening anytime soon but they made a very good choice for an icon
-
I'm going to have to disagree here
Skins are 100% optional and a lot of them can be gained by shards
Rift refunds itself and is completely optional
Original chapters can be gained with shards. If you play enough you can get the mayority out of you initial 20 bucks and with some luck you can even gain the licenced perks from the shrine
I would honestly praise them that the biggest bulk of the monetizations is in optional stuff and if you don't want to spend more money you won't miss out on the mayority of the game and the things you do miss out on are licenced which you can't blame them for
I would go for the opposite of what you say, outside of a couple of bad blunders the monetization of dbd is one of the better ones
-
Maybe a treat for when the new mori system comes live
-
That was suspesiously fast even
-
Taken from us implied we had it in the first place
-
I think people are afraid of full hex builds cause they can end up with no perks and seem to think that when that happens the game instantly ends for them.
More often then not unless you got heavilly outplayed a full hex build will have taken up so much of their time to get rid off they you can mop up even without perks easilly

Tbh, I was waiting for this comment.=)
Now look. I have a friend, who knows that the nurse and blight are the strongest killers in the game, but he just don't like them nor how they look, nor their gameplay. He just can't learn how to play them, and he don't really want to, but he likes Pyramid head, and he's doing much better with him.
When he plays Pyramid head, he almost 4k in every match, but when he plays nurse, he can't even 2k. For him, a paid character is much better than OG one.
Pay to win? For me, it's a clear pay to win case.
That's not what pay to win means...
With that logic i could say i do way better with Trapper then with Pyramid head, which then clearly proves that this game is in fact not pay to win
Pay to win means that a person who has no dlc has no chance to perform as well as a person who does have them. Which straight up isn't the case.
Strongest options for characters are available by base or unlockble, same for perks
There is not enough difference between a player who has all the options and one who doesn't. Not enough to be paid to win. Both can perform at the highest level roughly equally
If DbD would be a pay to win game then any game that has dlc is a pay to win game and pay to win means absolutely nothing
-
I don't think you understand as much as you think you do

I don't mind taking a few Ls, so I rarely dodge lobbies =) Plus I tend to have a sort of... baby charm ? Survivors are generally very nice to me even on killers I'm decent at. It kinda sets a precedent of me not being afraid of getting BM'd. =D
I was playing Clown for a daily, but he does sound fun ! I do have a question though, if you play him regularly : how do you use the yellow bottles? So far I've pretty much ignored them because I feel restless sitting in the gas waiting for it to take effect !
I don't really play them that much sadly and most of the ones that really did aren't around the forums anymore.
Important thing is that the yellow gas is a chase tool. In the mayority of the cases it's not worth to traverse the map. (Exception being when you need to reload anyway you can throw a yellow gas at your feet so you can make up some of the lost time of the reload)
You catch up really fast when you have both yellow and purple gas so on some longer loops you can really surprise some players
Throwing the yellow gas at the pallet side when you are at the other end and then throwing a purple one where you were while looping to the yellow gas is often a hit if the survivor stays at the loop.
It is different for every loop though which is what makes clown kinda tricky.
Yellow gas is also usefull if you don't know where a survivor will go. Throwing one ahead of you where you know survivors are allow you to start the chase with a nice speed boost no matter which direction the survivor goes
Some general tips are also that the gas spreads more if you threw it higher up. For example if you throw it at the ceiling of shack you pretty much cover the entire area.
Wish i could give more tips but i don't really play him often enough

People like to think if you put in enough time and effort you will become great at something. The thing is, some people will never "get better" and just hit a plateau and stay there. THis comes down to a lot of factors. Sure, they are probably better than someone who just picked up the game but won't be a great either.
The saying "Practise makes perfect" is flawed. What it should be is "practise makes permament"
Somebody who does the wrong thing for a 1000 hours is going to be worse then somebody who does it right for 100 hours
-
Fun fact: you can get a survivor to prestige 99 without ever playing survivor
But yes that is pretty scary. Great that you played the match anyway! Clown is a tricky killer to master so i hope you can get good at him
-
You don't deserve a 4k untill you are activelly hooking the final survivor. As long as atleast one is still standing you have not yet deserved it
Simular to how survivors haven't deserved their escape untill they walk out of the exit gate/jump in hatch
That said, yes the afk crows really could use a update to prevent a survivor just being able to hide all the time
-
It used to say "press any key"
But they had to many complaints about people not finding the any key
-
I don't see why they should be removed.
They are so easy to counter if you expect them
-
Slugging is always allowed.
Bleeding out on purpose is a jerk move but that' not slugging, that's bleeding out
People just intertwine these terms and use them as a excuse
Same with camping and defending a hook
-
The trick is to use an endurance perk like dead hard together with ways to pick yourself up like soul guard or the boon one.
Trigger the endurance effect
Get to a safe place, don't mend and go down and pick yourself back up
-
Some neat ideas
Gens in a purple cloud automatically start regressing. If you can throw a long range bottle at a gen you can both regress and chase the survivor instantly
When a yellow and purple cloud collide now they just cancel eachother out. Could be cool that instead of that they have some kind of reaction and explode dealing damage to anyone in it.

"If you make a skilled play and you end up dying, was it really a skilled play at all?" Plus the preceding bit that was something like "players tell me they unhooked 18 people and looped the killer for 6 gens but then died at the end of the match..."
He got a lot of flack for defending MMR and comparing DBD to hockey in one of the Q&As. That said, his "last day" Twitter comment chain is friggin' hilarious and I wish him all the best on his new projects.
Lot of undeserved flack imo
Nothing of what he said was wrong and the only thing the hockey thing proved is that there is a loud part of the community that isn't bright enough to understand how analogies work
-
Anyone remember when it used to be even slower?
-
I wish him all the best in his new endeavors!
-
I would love something like this. All the survivors are goody two shoes.
I want to see a survivor that will make people go "you know what, they deserve to be here"
-
You might want to reword your grim embrace change
Survivors can only be hooked for the first time once. As writen you would never get tokens after the first activation
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
I think so, yeah. Similarly, a gate escape after the hatch has been closed (due to only one survivor remaining) should not grant a higher MMR.
Eeeeh i would be against that.
It's one of the only reliable ways for a solo survivor to raise their mmr when they are stuck with bad teammates
And it's in most maps stacked into the killers favor unless you bring perks for it
Escaping through the hatch after the gates are open is a whole lot easier the escaping through the gate after hatch has been closed.
They are not equal in the slightest
-
It would be interresting to see what would happen if all movement speeds were increased by 1m/s across the board.
The time to catch up would remain the same but killers would be able to traverse the map faster and survivors would be less likely to get stuck in a deadzone as they will be more likely be able to reach a nearby pallet/ window
It would also make mindgames more powerfull cause the survivors reaction time will stay the same.
I think it's impossible to say if it would be better or worse without playtesting it.
That said this would make maps artificially smaller and that is a change many people suggest so it could be worth trying

Not entitled buddy im speaking and airing out what i dont like about the event! I dont know where "entitlement" comes into the picture here..this has nothing to do with that.
You are asking to end a event that tons of people are enjoying cause you personally aren't
You are putting your own enjoyement over 100.000+ people if we aren't talking millions.
How is that anything but entitlement?
-
No thank you.
If it wasn't for these things i probably wouldn't ever sabo a hook. These kind of challenges nudge people to try different things.
Not everyone wants to play 100% optimal all of the time.
-
I liked lithe when i started out
Plenty of cosmetic options is a nice bonus
With the new prestige system i'm more willing to change survivors though
-
@Babadook83 said:
these bans are way too harsh. funny how they think a dc'er is almost as bad as a hacker
A frequent Dc'er is almost as bad as a hacker.
I would say even worse.
Hackers suck but you don't see them that often. Without the penalty it's atleast every other match you have a DC'er
-
The limit is just after Chucky is added
-
It is a very inefficient to spread hooks, so good killer players who don't want to hardcore tunnel will tend to ignore one survivor untill one is dead. Chasing a fresh hook just isn't worth it
Also i'm sorry but when it it's very clear that we are not going to open the gate anymore i'm playing for hatch
If this happens cause one is dead and the rest are on deadhook in the 3 minutes it took me to solo 2 gens and i haven't been chased yet then so be it.
I always try to take my part of the pressure but when your team crumbles appart and wouldn't make use of the time you buy them anyway there is no point
Every hatch i get is mmr i'm not losing and one step closer to not have teammates that rat out other players out of petty reasons.

It's like no one can read...
I'll put it in caps might help you see better
I KNOW BHVR WORK ON OTHER GAMES AND HAVE MADE OTHER GAMES.
I just dont want another death garden situation where it's a complete flop. So yeah I'd rather them use most of their company on DBD and only work on smaller projects on the side... or grow bigger so they can handle big demanding developments along side DBD.
Do yourself a favour and read before you jump on the bandwagon of trying to say I dont know they work on other games jeez
Whenever you're in a situation where people are "bandwagoning" against you it's a very good practise to stop, put your ego aside and concider if maybe there is something you aren't grasping
You put it so nicely in caps that you know bhvr works on other games but you clearly don't understand what that means.
So lets go over this really slowly
BHVR is a company that works/creates multiple games
Those are devided into several projects
Each project has their own team and budget
DbD has their own team and budget and is an ongoing project
They will NOT pull people/ money from an ongoing project
Outside of convertations during lunch break it makes absolutely zero difference for the DbD team that this game is being made
Any fear you have of DbD being affected in anyway whatsoever is born out of sheer ignorance
But seeing how you also are unaware of how big of an ass you are making of yourself means the saying "Ignorance is bliss" still has some merrit

Okay... but I'm not just on about one small part of the world, if that was the case many places have the top developers etc.
And once AGAIN, I know they have made other games iv played them.
But you didn't answer any of the questions and then say I dont have any knowledge and try to insult me saying it takes 2mins to think.
Just because I say they shouldn't focus on other potential big games doesnt mean they solely have to work on DBD. It's just smart to use the majority of your company on the game which actively grew them, no need for another death garden...
Do yourself a favor and go to the BHVR website.
DbD might be what BHVR is known for but it's only a very small part of the company
Most of their work is partnership with other games
Telling BHVR to only focus on DbD is like telling your local baker to only focus on croissants

How does that not drive you mad? I'm one of those people that can't stand a "red notification" unread emails, etc... Once I get to 3 drafts I can't stand it anymore and delete.
It's a friendly reminder to myself to not take discussions here too seriously

well i wouldn't say that, what I'm proposing is a way to completely change the killers power, see old freddy is still very similar to current freddy, this would have to change his alarm clocks, his interaction, mostly everything, just a complete reimagination of a killer, but you can still use the current freddy if you'd like to
Old freddy and current freddy are nothing alike?
Outside that survivors can fall asleep but even the way to do it is different
-
The only thing wrong about this is you even concidering that you were the one doing something wrong
-
It never fails to surprise me just how wrong our community is about everything in this game.
Time to accept that we are the ones who don't know the game
-
There might be a problem with the server that disconnects people at random. That's probably the reason
Sneakilly i hope nothing actually is wrong and they turned off the penalties but not the detection of it. So everyone who mass dced gets 72+ hour bans after it gets reanabled to teach them a lesson. But that's a cruel fantasy

Something supposed to be that way does not excuse bad design. Imagine buying a water hose and you attract it and turn it on and it has a bunch of holes and they tell you no its ok thats how it's designed. You wouldn't be like oh ok if it's designed that way then ok. No that's a terrible design and you would want your money back.
A garden hose with holes doesn't do what it's suppose to do...
The hag trap flicks do
It also allows hag players to get creative by placing traps near doorways to cause people to miss the door instead of always going trap, teleport, hit. It adds to the gameplay
The hag flicks are NOT bad design. You just don't personally like them. There is a difference between those 2. A difference this community needs to learn
