Topics like this always make me happy the penalty exists

The problem with camping and tunneling isn't that they exist but how effective they are
The difference between 4 survivors and 3 survivors is just way to big. I'm still thibk that adding some kind of "desperation" repair speed bonus as soon as a survivor has died would be a good solution for this.
Not enough to completely offset it but enough so that a 3v1 isn't completely hopeless. Making it so that the ideal strategy is having 2 survivors on deadhook and then taking them out with a 1 2 punch would help a lot with tunneling without asking killers to go for 12 hooks every game
Camping i feel is more killerspecific. A m1 killer camping usually isn't that big of a deal and are easy to trade with. That said i do think the hooktimers could increase a bit to offset the increase in gen times.
Also wish more people knew the counter to deadlock by leaving one gen 99% so it keeps hitting that one. That perk is given way much more power then it actually has for campers
-
They should show the killrates with and without DC's in general so whenever someone complains about the DC penalty we can show exactly why it's there
Could be a bit harsher even
-
Unrelenting is actually better now as it allows you to get out of a snowman slightly faster
-
It's not exactly free insidious
Insidious allows you to use your power right away
In the snowman you need to go through the attack cooldown before you can.
You can pretty much always get the unhook against someone who tries to camp with snowman
-
Not for that reason but i do like using less popular perks and try to make them work and seeing how most of the perks people dislike are also concidert good it kinda happens regardless
-
You thinking frosty eyes are thrash is your opinion. And that's fair, you are entitled to it.
There is a important thing people need to know about opinions though. Everybody has one.
And as with most things that are really common. They aren't worth a lot.
If you don't like it, don't use it. Some do and especially with how easy it is to make them i see no reason for them to stop making them

Camping has never been less rewarding than it is now.
That said - when I first started out, I was a camper. Because it's a tactic that makes sense and yields results.
Not everyone knows that it goes against the game's 'etiquette' and with how toxic people in this game can be, it generally just comes over as 'I lost' salt.
That said, with baseline BT and speed, you should be able to out-trade a PH. The only campers that are nearly impossible to counter are Bubba and maybe Ghosty.
EDIT - Yes, hook grabs are dumb and need to be removed. But that's another discussion.

Also - this.
I swear, if I had a dollar for every group that has someone instantly DC/suicide on the first down and then call me sweaty postgame, I'd be able to afford takeout this week.
Is it?
I know people can overexagurate about camping but i wouldn't say it's less rewarding then ever
In the past gens took 10 seconds less and you did 't have passive slowdown like deadlock
Can you explain why it's less rewarding now?
-
Ideal situation is to have one person to distract the guard while another person saves turning the knight in a m1-only killer at camping wich shouldn't be a problem
If you're solo and can't pull of these coordinations then run through the guard when they detect you, stop to make sure you're in a hunt and then run straight to the hook, the timing is a bit tricky as the knight can't hit you before the hunt started
But once it does the knight can't hit you without stopping the hunt and the second you touch the hooked person the hunt ends also which means that the knight again turns into a pure m1 camper which isn't a problem
The knights camping only works when you or your team allows it too
-
This post is the perfect example of why people are annoyed when you ask a new killer to be nerfed before learning to play against them
Most of the stuff you said is wrong
The knight doesn't need a nerf, they need a fix
-
Legion
Running around and stabbing people is just so much fun, especially if you are able to chain
They also have a ton of perks that work well for them so you can have dozens of builds
I've also recently begin enjoying deathslinger. I'm not very good at him but getting long range shots is just so satisfying
-
Candyman is one of the many great horror icons that can come to dbd
If it's one thing they are not running out of it's potential licence partners
-
Flashlights can backfire immensily if the killer pays attention
Boon exponential only works well if the killer downs you in the boon which means they will probably find it and snuff it really easy
Subtle cheaters is a problem but if you blame all your losses to them you'll go mad, they are not so common. Cheaters is something that haunts every multiplayer game. That's a constant war
Sounds like you would enjoy a single player game more

It took a while but i made it too!
Love the green

Well seeing as 99% of them run dh there's quite a bit of nuance to when that going down is happening to even call it. Also, most swf groups aren't that sweaty for even trying to call timings like that. Just going by my personal experience.
In my experience the best way now to know you are facing swf is when you run eruption ans nobody screams ever but gens still get done 15 seconds later
Even if it's not really common, that it is theoretically possible to be such a huge difference with a simple call out isn't the best of designs.
-

9 vs 40 is a big difference, I just think you're exaggerating a bit on how often it misses swf. 90% of swf are still getting hit by Eruption.
I really doubt that as all it takes is a simple "about to go down"
-

Then how are they getting downs?
They are not, that's why those types of games last 30+ minutes
If they would get downs the game would atleast end without having to give up

So it should be buffed to work equally well against SWF as solo?
It should be changed so it works equally (or how equal it can, it will never be equal 100%) against solo's and swf and then it can be looked at whether it needs a nerf or a buff
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3289399#Comment_3289399
Doesn't that basically apply to nearly every single perk in the game?
Not to this extent
Vs swf who call out when they go down eruption removes 10% of a gen or 9 charges
Vs a solo who can't know when a team mate goes down it does 10% of the gen, removes 25 seconds potential gen time and regresses for 25 seconds, that's 9+25+6,25= 40.25 charges lost per survivor hit
I know you can not realistically make perks effect solo vs swf equally but 9 vs 40 is a big difference don't you think
-
The fact that it works so much better vs solo's while doing almost nothing vs swf alone is enough reason for a change
Doesn't even matter if it's overperforming or not
-
Can't really comment on the addons but as perks go
Nowhere to hide
is really nice. Especially on fast moving killers like oni or blight who can reach those at the end of the range really fast. Good way to add pressure without it being straight slowdown
Hex: Face the Darkness
I love this new approuch to hexes where they are only lit when they are active, makes them last a lot longer. The effect itself is meh on it's own but comboes really well with some other perls like lethal or TotH
Hubris
The least usefull one, wether or not you get stunned is mostly in the survivors hands. Smart ones will just predrop or not throw the pallet when healthy. Bit of a noobstomper. Against experienced survivors especially in swf this will trigger once

The reson for the post is that im trying to find any last things to keep me playing. I could care less about what the devs think anymore and I know you're mostly just joking but its just sad that the game has mostly just gotten worse since I first started and im sure that's my own bias.
It doesn't have to be a sad thing.
Recognising that DbD doesn't do it anymore for you and respectfully moving on is a lot better then those 2500 hour people who force themself to keep playing and do nothing but complain and spread negativity about the game

asymmetrical doesn't equal unbalanced. four 5 pound weights equal one 20 pound weight.
It gets a lot trickier when all the 5 pound weights have four weights hanging on to them ranging from 1-10 pounds each and some of the 5 pounds weights can be removed halfway, the 20 pound weight is actually 15-30 pounds with four weight hanging to them ranging from 1-10 where sometimes some drop off and you're using a scale that will randomly add pounds to either side
But that brings my point across really well, the above one is also way more interresting, there isn't much you can do with four 5 pounds and one 20 pounds and will get stale really fast
-
Here is a crazy concept
It's not a sin to be burned out on a game after you spend 1k hours in it
I still like playing killer cause it's still fun to me
If you find that taking a break from the game now means you won't come back to it maybe that's a sign to move on and be happy what the game offered you
I promise the devs won't be mad at you

"like you can already hide your red stain by moonwalking"
Most loops have no way to hide the information either because the killer is too tall or because the loop has nowhere you can hide the light. Show me on an autohaven tile set where you can do it. Ok how about corn maps? Nope.
But WHY should the killer need to do an extra step and hide their light? As an observer looking at the game for the first time it makes DBD look like you're watching a Scooby Doo chase scene montage.
Seeing the red light is a level of free information that is on the level with :aura reading.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3286619#Comment_3286619
-"Punishing somebody for playing your game a lot doesn't seem like a good idea"
Do you understand the concept of training wheels? The red light mechanic is 100% a hand holding aspect of the game that should "go away" with the option to keep it on - if you still need it.
Looping as a survivor is mostly a joke because you always have this gleaming red light ( that some player abuse but I'm not allowed to elaborate due to moderation) to tell you exactly what to do.
-"So if it goes it should go completely and that would be harder for newer players who already have it rough against killers and barely make a difference against experienced players as they go against killer who know how to hide their red stain"
Low level players dont understand what it means to be that close to the killer nor do they look behind them when looping or throwing pallets.
Again I say: Keep the red light as an option that is always available as a generic level three perk. If you still need the training wheels red light perk bring it - but in so doing you give up a perk slot forever.
That would be fair to the killer.
I don't think it will be worth the effort
The kind of survivors killers struggle against are the kind that are used to killers hiding their red stain and don't rely on it. Removing it will do nothing for killers in those matchups
And the survivors that do rely on the killers red stain are the ones who most killers pubstomp anyway
It won't be fair to the killer cause it won't be helping them where they need help
-
Not 100% sure but i think you still count as working on the gen
So all you do when working with multiple people is that you debuff the others while gaining stacks slower
That said it does work rather well with prove thyself
-
I'm kinda torn on this
One the one hand i can 100% understand the outrage. I know a person who had impulsive buying tendancies and they went through 1000ths of bucks a month easilly cause of practises like this
On the other hand i can't help but feel that other peoples mental condition isn't bhvr or any companies responsibility
The person i know went through a class that taught him how to deal with his impulsive buying and he is actually able to shield himself against things like this now
And that has helped him more then any amount of yelling at companies will. Those kind of mental help classes need to be more readilly available
Going after the companies seems pointless cause literally everything can trigger those impulsive behaviours
Catchy jingles, flashy lights even sales can trigger it. If you are against limited availability you should also be against limited sales cause they trigger the same response of missing out.
I'm not going to claim to be an expert and know the answer to this so i could be 100% in the wrong here but it's a lot deeper then FOMO=evil
-
I don't think it's the game to be honest
I think your friends burned out on the game and you desperatly clinging on to it when the biggest pull, being able to hang out with friends is gone
Players have always played like it's a competion
Tunneling and slugging were always in the game
And while less known hold w was always as strong as it is
The issues you are seeing in the game were always there but it didn't matter in the past cause you focussed on the fun things dbd has to offer
Now that magic has burned out and you only see the negative
It's okay to be burned out on a game and just letting it go while being happy with what it gave you.
To many people see it as a problem that needs to be fixed
-
Slinger isn't bad per say but he does have a awefull adept
He is really dependend on perks to offset his weaknesses and his own perks are kinda combo perks that don't really do anything without support
I would suggest waiting untill the reset and trying then. You're going to need a lucky throwing survivor game to get it
-
I'm going to reluctingly agree here
I feel like people who say hag is strong are kinda living in the past
The biggest strength a hag has is that people don't know how to play vs her. Hell even 1000+ hour people seem to be unaware that you can crouch over traps sometimes
If you face survivors who know how to dislodge your traps when you are busy and know how to use the flick to their advantage so insta teleports won't hit them then hags will really struggle.
Hags also have a lot of hard counter perks lately
CoH while i think it's overal fine now absolutely destroys hags
Reasurance also is pretty good against hags who rely on trapping hooks as the 6m requirement isn't as bad against her
Nothing worse then a survivor with off the record just popping all your traps for hags
Hag isn't a case of knowing how to play her, it's a case of facing people who don't know how to play vs her
I'm positive that if you put together a good swf who know they will face a hag and knows all the counters to hag they will escape with 3 persons the mayority of the time

DbD is unbalanced
As a assymetrical game with this much variety it has to be
The real headscratcher is why people expect/want it to be not
I can understand wanting to shave of the extreme outliners but too many people think a balanced game = a good game
And sadly it isn't, a balanced game = a boring game cause you can predict what will happen
In the current state of the game a game can swing completely in favor of a trapper with 2 lucky traps near basement despite him overall being regarded the weakest killer
The more you bring everything to an equal level, the less surprises you'll get and that result in a stale game
DbD is unbalanced, and thats why it has been such a succes
-
I would still give it a positive rating
If something drastic changes that i don't like i would change it
I would not change it to a negative review because of things like limited outfits
No matter how shady it may be that has nothing to do with how good the game is.
Reviewbombing the game based of a decision that 95% of the company didn't have a part in is just as shady as fomo practices
That would be akin to a mcdonalds employee spitting in the burgers and instead of trying that get that one employee fired you try to take down the whole company

I agree, hours are not an absolute indicator of skill- but I didn’t say that. I was speaking of new players. Whatever the value of “X” is, would be up to the devs to decide what is a fair amount of time for a new player to get acclimated to the game’s mechanic’s. And that’s what it’s really all about- someone who has never played before, getting a chance to learn killer movement like everyone before them did. But this doesn’t even have to be the answer. It was just an idea I offered to help new players, and that’s why I prefaced it with “maybe.”
If removing the stain would “barely make(s) a difference against experienced players…,” then how would that be “punishing somebody for playing your game a lot…??”
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3286651#Comment_3286651
Some of us try to create topics to create a positive discussion in the section of “General Discussions,” unlike some of the negative passive aggressive members who post in said topics, not adding anything to the discussion. But hey- to each their own right?
The punishing for playing the game was towards the removing of the red stain after x hours
Not everyone reaches experienced level of play even after 1000 hours. I would even say the mayority doesn't
I like the red stain as a mechanic, clever killers can even use it to their advantage at places.
If you play ghostface a bit you'll know that not having a red stain really doesn't change that much against good players.

Truth be told, approx. 90% of the players that has .ttv in their name, that I have encounterd, are mostly just trolling and/or throwing. That is why Almost every time I see these three letters on the playername, I just dodge lobby. Especially when I play killer.
Have you run the numbers on that or do you assume it's a lot cause you notice it a lot?
There is something like confirmation bias
Keep numbers for a couple of games of how many ttv's you encountered, how many trolled/throwed and keep track of how many non-ttv's throw or troll
The result may surprise you

I do this already as holding W is strong vs. any killer.
For me the strenght of Trapper is the survs fear of traps, as they're just too scared to loop normaly.
And i kinda stopped looking for traps. Cuz no matter how carefully (and slow) i walk, when there is grass i get trapped anyway in the process.
Also traps placed directly IN pallets are a nightmare for console players. Takes ages do disarm them and not drop the pallet.
It's the same button isn't -_-'

And another day where the DBD-Community shows their hate against streamers.
I dont even know why you have to mention that this person was a TTV. There are Survivors out there who manage to get their team killed all the time.
It's easier for some small minded people to hate something if they can label it
"Waw, 2 ttv were mean to me, therefore all ttv's are mean"
Happens really often in history

Trapper is the only killer i fear, as the game is dark as intended on console and there's no way to increase brightness.
Can't really loop vs. Trapper, traps could be everywere. And if there is grass i just can't see them.
Trick is to just don't take chances and never walk into grass
If that means you'll get hit just take it and hold w to a place you checked that doesn't have traps (like completed generators)
It sounds silly but it's surprisingly effective
-
Hours are not a reprisentative of skill
Punishing somebody for playing your game a lot doesn't seem like a good idea
So if it goes it should go completely and that would be harder for newer players who already have it rough against killers and barely make a difference against experienced players as they go against killer who know how to hide their red stain
So pass for me, i think it would do more harm then good
-
Survivors countering this perk by pointing instead tbagging

I just can't wait untill they put bots in place of people who DCed
Even with how easilly mindgame-able they are they are better 50% of solo players

Impulse control isn't exactly something you can teach someone to have control over there are people with impulse control that know about the practice of fomo and still get affected by it
It is like a mental illness that can be triggered very easily some people have better control on their impulses than others and some can go oh eh I don't like or I don't need it so I don't care but people with poor control will go into debt if their impulses get triggered
It is why loot boxes are a big problem for a lot of people tie that in with exclusive timed items and you will cause a person with bad impulse control or gambling addiction to lose money just to get those items even if they are simple cosmetics
This is ofcourse speaking purely from my own experience but i know somebody who had impulsive spending issues
He spend close to 1000 bucks on mobile games a month, often skipping meals to be able to pay for it
He took a class and completely recovered from it and is doing totaly fine now
I ofcourse can't tell if he's the exception or the rule but i do know it's possible
Problem is most people don't know classes like this exist and/or don't bother with it
Not to mention that it's something they have to pay for with their own money instead of being provided from support like it should
-
I can understand why there is an uproar of this cause these kind of FOMO (fear of missing out) tactics do negatively impact people with poor money management skills
I do find their anger to be misdirected
They shouldn't be angry at bhvr for doing this. Without the exclusiveness the skins might not be lucrative enough and that would mean they just wouldn't make those skins at all
If bhvr can't pay the bills with skins anymore then they would have to increase the price of the base game/dlc
I'm 100% sure most people who are against the exclusive skins would be in massive uproar if that happened
Their anger should be directed at whatever social support their country has cause they should be giving classes to people who really suffer from poor money management
You don't cover every lake or body of water out of fear people can drown you learn them how to swim
-
I don't get it either tbh. I am just happy they keep trying to get their money through the optional stuff while leaving the actual gameplay addition the price of a single meal
This might be a bit of a controversial opinion but for me it isn't up to the company to fix people who have issues managing their money.
If people see limited availability as a reason that they have to buy that product no matter what then those people should be given classes to not fall in that pit.
Attacking bhvr won't solve anything, even if they change their oppinion the people who are struggling are just going to fall victim to the next person
Teach a man to fish and all that

Oh please, I've been playing this game for like 3 weeks, I'm not going to sit down for hours studying every perk and ability, what I do expect is for killers not to be able to "steal a win" with an add on no one knows about, and let me tell you right now, most people aren't going to study all that crap just to play this game. The game needs to be balanced with balanced add ons that boost abilities not give new abilities, and perks (3 unique, the rest universal), I can learn 3 new perks, that's nothing. Now I gotta learn all the add ons too? And you can only learn the add ons if you buy the character or face the character and get ######### by them initially, that's the point.
You don't need to study the game for hours...
Just not take matches so seriously
You had one (!) Match where the knight surprised you with a addon. You lost at most 7k bp. You learned and can move on with that knowledge now
Next match the nightmare can surprise you with his gate blocking addon (yes this isn't just the knight who has stuff like this) and then you'll have learned from that
If you want to to enjoy this game you really need to learn that matches are a dime a dozen. Not escaping one match because of something you didn't know isn't a big deal.
Learn from it and move on
Treating every match like life or death is a good way to rob all the enjoyment DbD has to offer
-
DbD will never get labor of love
Cause for that the community would have to know what love is
-
Legion is always a blast to play
Tons of points, awesome music, their inert stalling makes it so you atleast have some game even without slowdown
I never get tired of that rush
-
I do think there should be a cap for all actions in how fast or slow they can go
Interresting to point out that cause they work multiplicative gen slowdown already has "percentage penalties" when stacked
Thana at 20% slowdown and penti at 30% slowdown together slow down gen speed for 44% and not 50%
(1-(0.8×0.7)=0.44)
-
It should really just be "end a trail with the 3 perks with no survivor escaping though the gates"
-
This is just the same issue that keeps popping up that it isn't explained how the chains work
Chains spawn in sets of 3, if you dodge 3 chains you have a bit of time before the next one spawns. You will outperform ruin his way especially with multiple survivors
They really need to make that a tooltip or something
-
Still want chucky so bad!
