If you say so. The game was very climatic back in the end of 2016 and 2017.

Very climatic indeed, in fact it was the only strong case for climate change it was so climatic. Not very climactic though more than it was a shitshow.

When infinites were removed and Myers was released was the best time in the game imo.

I'd quit before meyers and only came back right after pyramidhead came out, even ruin and bamboozle were new to me but hearing they put that bamboozle effect on vaults for abuse of them in chases was some of what convinced me back for a while

  • because people are pissed and in some of their cases typing is probably more fun than playing for a while

Sadly no. With each year everything is getting worse.

lol no the game was absolutely horrible when itc ame out on steam, at least low and moderately skilled killer players cana ctually catch somebody in 2020 without cheating their bandwidth, kicking half or all but one of the guys in the match (when it was p2p), or at the whim or straight up bad luck of a survivor without the vault bamboozle effect and some spots in maps making it impossible to catch them most of the time unless they really goofed. there were way worse problems, on both sides, but those were the ones that came to mind right away along wih the forever sabo'd hooks from jake teams leaving you only the basement or a mori as somebody reminded me of in another thread earlier. I hope they fired whomever thought That was ever a good idea. idk how this game made it past 2016 or 17 except due to the sheer lack of competing games of this sort

If you can elaborate on the breakdown of what that 2% consists of, what data is factored into that number, and what gives it context, then your statement carries weight. Otherwise, it lacks legitimacy and is you stating an opinion, not a fact.

If I told you in a vacuum that I escape with keys in 20% of my matches, therefore keys are broken, but failed to give you the context of those numbers (i.e. I just started compiling the data, I play in a 4-man Red Rank SWF on comms, and I'm only using 5 games as the data pool, so it was actually only 1 escape), I'd be expressing an opinion based on flawed data. You can see how statistics without greater information for context is meaningless, right?

I think a lot of people get that this year.

  • that sounds like the screwed up auto aim shenanigans, no matter where you position it's still bound to happen sometimes

kate's new hairdo is a firecracker. I hink she's the one that got it anyways, maybe it was meg but I think meg got a hat

  • I expected a killer like that to be played more like chess pieces sometimes lol

Like I went up against a PH who was hard core tunneling at 5 gens despite having ruin+undying (still love his free tunneling and zoning btw) and then a bubba who camped despite having stuff like BBQ and TT to locate survivors, and others playing really scummy, weirdly.

Like i'm just wondering why play like this? I don't play scummy as all and do fine but then I go up against stuff like this, hear killers say "survivor sided game" and "so many bt, ds, ub etc" then play like this when none of that is in play and even when running strong builds like ruin+undying

    Are killers okay or?

I think if you're seeing more of this it's a combination of killers that don't play this way losing interest in the role for various reasons, and maybe a few killers (probably not a lot of them) deciding to take another bad patch out on every survivor they can since it's about the only aspect of the game they can have some sense of control over besides outright leaving (which in itself lacks the sense if they see it as being run off of the game) or their only way to express themselves and be heard by the community and devs through the community's complaints they may desire for. Theres alsot he sorts that just enjoy coming onto forums later to hope they find threads about what they did or other players playing like them did for the satisfaction, lol. it was already rainbowing me as survivor again recently before the mori (a solo survivor) so I can imagine that might have a role in a few more figuring they have to tunnel or camp more too.

Best thing you can do is feel nothing about it, and don't care about the outcome of the match one way or the other. You take the power backf or yourself that way, it doesn't matter if they believe they've made you feel frustrated, what matters is being in control. And that's how you do it in either role in this game and most games of this sort. Remind yourself most of them aren't important and their own thoughts and feelings don't matter more than your own. That's a good way to come out of 2020 less stressed in general, not just out of dbd. The more self-aware you are, the more in control of yourself you are, and by that point the more in control of others less self-aware or more focused on the wrong things you are as well.

Its a shame the F13 game didn't last long, it mostly would've been a good benefit for DBD

Choice is always good, if after playing both games some didn't wanna start a new one or preferred dbd there's nothing wrong with that. Personally I enjoyed F13th more though, especially since the killer was chosen at random and for some reason even premades in that game didn't abuse that as much as I'd expected they would (people did farm xp though I mean more not abused to troll random players) and seemed to have fun killing their friends too. Plus voip was built in while they were making the game, so that wasn't a huge problem like it is in this game. Bots & the random killer assignment being the most important things really to me.

Last Year also did random killers, but Last Year devs abandoned it within weeks and then did the same to it a year later on steam, they just took a month or two to abandon the steam version iirc. I had it on discord day 1 lol. It was fun at first, but oh well. If either other game had been successful it would have set a higher bar for dead by daylight and all games would have been better for it. What I've learned though are two important things, never get hyped over another 'asymmetrical' gave ever again, and asymmetrical games are impossible to completely balance by their nature.

  • @Dabihwow said:

Eh can't be worse then this year, (hopefully) I do like the positivity, but then again, this is DbD, one with a strong will can stand against many P3 Claudettes and their goddamn-(Out of Context )-lights with the Iri Bulb and extra battery shoved up its-( Still Out of Context )-hole with DS, Iron will, DH, BT also shoved up their-( Still... out of context). They soak up so much Bloodpoints they should've been made into Fat-( And still out of Context!) At this point they are the ones I really wanna ( WOAH BUDDY, this stil Out of Context!) . Then again there's the Forever bringing Lithe Fengs, The Balanced Landing Nea's and the newest enemy, Elodie. Then again Clown Rework will be exciting so yay

well this year they did add the auto bamboozle for survivors that abuse vaults, so that was a plus, it was the reason I decided to give the game a try again this year when pyramidhead came out. I did hear that ruin used to be better though, but ruin itself was new to me period nerfed or not. I don't remember touching dbd since late 2016 before that, even though I did hear news about it at a few points most of which made me laugh though. It's a shame somebody had to go rambo on everything with Jason in it since the F13 game would have been this one's hucklebearer

  • nerf next week's queue times and get the patch ready lol

  • with hatch offerings, 4 mans offerings if they all use the same one not being able to be cancelled by the killers in the match they would want to cancel an offering the most sometimes, and what just happened to the moris I'm not too confident it'll be a good year for any but the survivors. and that's if their queue times stay short enough or they get bot killers. I'm hanging off for a while even from survivor since I expect soon I'll be seeing nothing but the most annoying killers, people camping not out of desperation but simply to spite me and try and grind my gears, and for the queues to get longer at least when I usually play it. I do wanna keep up on reading about what goes on though, but more for the entertainment if it gets real bad for a while.

That's not the issue because the save data is stored on the servers. However I'm wondering if it's a region issue, which region is your account in? The console and offline sharing option is what you're referring to and I've already activated that. I've identified the issue in an earlier post in this topic if you want to go back to read it. It has to do with the entitlements on PS5. It seems to be fine if you play the game on the purchasing account, but it's an issue if you don't.

oh yeah I'm not sure if they family share dlc, I never tried that on steam on the pc version to really know for sure. I guess I misunderstood and it sounded like a different kind of problem I read about with other games

  • @Nicholas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1811015#Comment_1811015

Yes still an issue, but everything is stored on the servers so you don't lose anything or have to level up. I just temporarily don't have access to my paid characters.

try the options in the console UI to restore your licenses and then the one to sync your game data and restart the ps5. other games where people had trouble downloading dlc on ps5 claimed it helped some of them. It might help some people with this game too if it's an issue with being granted access to the dlc and not the actual account progress itself.

  • @Nicholas said:

I have everything on PS4 and followed the upgrade steps to acquire the digital PS5 copy of the game. however none of my DLCs have carried over. They don't have a lock on them, they are just grayed out and I can't select any of them. I've already tried restoring licenses but there's nothing else to do. Is this a known issue or am I missing a step?

I didn't have that problem myself, but I've seen others bring it up. What I did was accidentally install the ps4 version originally on ps5, before I realized I needed to acccept and then installa different version since I assumed it was just gonna use higher settings by default on the same version kind of like tweaking your settings with a game on pc. I immediately befor eplaying any games, even astro I think, downloaded all of my save data from the cloud including for the ps4 dbd. I believe starting up dbd on the ps4 versionw ith that data may have something to do with my not running into the problem you and some others had on the ps5 version once I installed it. It probably isn't related, but it could be though and is worth looking into.

you could install the ps4 version side by side with it, and then load up the ps4 version on ps5 and see if you have access tot hose dlcs there to help give them info that might narrow it down for them. also there is in the ps5 UI a setting somewhere, I think related to your profile but maybe in the game and apps ection, that restores game licenses and another to sync your console's data (like for trophies) and maybe use both of those and then restart the ps5 and see if it works. dlc issues I think a few people fixed that way in other games on ps5 when they weren't able to download some dlcs

  • whyw ould you even want to be rank 10 or 9 as akiller right now, let alone rank 1? You'll just stress yourself for nothing when all you're facing are red rank swf burning off all their purple and pink keys and going out of their way to screw with you as much as they possibly can over the next couple or few weeks. If the game is gonna lose more killers, and it already felt like some didn't come back after the bloodlust weekend from my recent rainbow matchmaking streaks and slight increase of typical queue times when I played survivor, the game is gonna have even worse matchmaking just to throw those swf groups into alobby of some sort. You wanna depip as much as possible at this point, perhaps all the way down to 16 if you wanna wraith it while watching tv or something. A dumb achievement is not worth the stress.

And on pc it's been moved from ssd to hdd since i don't expect to touch it for a couple or few months at least. I think Monstrous never changed and the only possibility was 4 man slug if you didn't bring a mori

ah yeah, didn't slug used to not have a timer or it was a slow enough one to be able to minimize the game and get people to have to dc to leave the match? LOL. This game is so toxic by design

  • @Deadeye said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1809711#Comment_1809711

original mori was necessary, as original sabo broke hooks forever. the game at that time was simply... wrong. In quite a lot of cases

I keep forgetting about that lmao, yeah that was nuts when people had to set up for the basement and hope that it wouldn't spawn in a bad spot of the map. Was agitation the only perk they had besides monstrous that was any good there then? lol 4 jakes. I remember leaving about a month or so until nurse, played a while with nurse and then for some reason or another left again until pyramidhead and the auto bamboozle for vault spam. bamboozle itself was a new concept to me when I came back, I think I may have left before meyers even. The game felt fun enough for a while this year, but these past couple of months of patches have just pushed me off of it again and showed me they can't still balance a game to save their lives.

  • @Terro said:

They're going to make it so you have to be hooked twice by a killer before you can use a key and it only let's one survivor escape plus all other conditions that were already on the key.

that's too bad for a survivor that wants to know exactly when and how their key can be used, and it is not an equal nerf to the mori in the sense that if the killer can no longer kill them early there should never be an option for them to escape early regardless of how conditional that opportunity would have been. They're walking on thin ice with killers after 4 years of this. there Are other games to play, tens of thousands of them one of which unlocked around midnight last btw (Cyberpunk). When playing the forums becomes more entertaining than playing a game itself, that game has a problem and needs to work it out (Dead by Daylight).

  • @Zarathos said:

I agree nerfing keys is a poor decision. They ahould nerf hatch. Make hatch spawn at one survivour left or all gens done. Simple elegant still has an important purpose of bypassing nonsense door placements or theoretically reopening a closed hatch. Not hard to code you just need to change hatch variables which unless the code is in some sorry state should be pretty easy

That would fall into the "if they can no longer kill you early then you can no longer escape early" solution that would be the only fair solution besides confining 3 and 4 man swf to a separate queue and letting killers choose which queues they go into. That would also be simpler than hitting the keys themselves as a solution, and it would be far more effective and easier to work with int he long run I bet on the dev end. That way if the last guy alive gets the hatch closed and the gates are too close together and/or that killer can patrol them too effectively they would have the option to re-open the hatch just like the killer has the option to opt out of last hook if they suspect somebody saved a ds to troll them on their escape attempt and for some reason they still use a mori.

What i expect to happen though would not be a solution as fair and balanced as that. I expect killers to be even more trolled by swf lol, and for the salt to pour from both sides as the killer pool lessens and they face the sweatiest killer players and only the most 'top tier' killers and addons more often with the survivor queues going up over time as more players enter the game and not many of them enjoy killers past rank 16-14. It's gonna be real fun watching the talk over this game for the next few weeks lol. It's gonna look like american politics with neither side able to discuss things and reach a rational compromise, and one side is going to ultimately win and make the other side feel any further interaction is not worth it for them. In a game's outcome, it doesn't necessarily spell the death of the game (but that is a very common outcome from that sort of situation, whether or not it happens immediately or is a gradual process) but it certainly changes the entire experience for all involved and dbd was already a game full of toxicity and hatred for your fellow man. I can't wait to see that get taken to a whole, notha, level

  • If you keep asking they'll probably give you a free yellow toolbox effect for the first few seconds into any gen you touch to make the game more fair and fun for both sides

  • @hillbillyclaudmain69 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/212335/no-devs-why-do-you-nerf-mori

They used to be the second I down a survivor u could kill them. Then you had to hook them once. Now I have to hook them twice. They went from OP to a literal hindrance to run.

original mori was pretty screwed up and unfair, but making them essentially a deathhook with a longer animation and delay to move toward a hatch just makes them a waste of bloodpoints and an offering. at this point, they need to make any swf bigger than a duo a separate queue, penalize and/or buff killer against them somehow, or place an indication in lobby so the killer can dodge it without doing detective work constantly if they ever want a lot of people to touch killer again. It's too stressful, it's too much, it's a bad time to ask people to work as behavior's entertainers without paying them a fair wage for it.

Then I hope you're playing in a 4-man group that is comfortable with that, because I'd hate to have a drinker or dope smoker on my team who has no interest in winning because they're too busy having 'fun'.

those are the swf that are totally fine, drunk or stoned or not from the killer side of the game. It sounds like the kind you would be in yourself are the kind that ruin the game for killers and solo survivors when you're in a 3 man and think of them as disposable. Most people just trying to have fun on the game themselves probably won't have a problem with the drinker as long as he's not so drunk he's falling asleep or running in circles.

20min que? are you exaggerating too? have never waited that long for a lobby and esp since que times are better :)

they're coming, even if some survivors leave for cyberpunk tomorrow or over the weekend, you still will have plenty of killers that leave over the weekend too. and after the years ome people have had, theyd on't want to put up with bs on their games too. any long time killer players that leave, this might be the last straw for them, but I'm pretty sure a lot more than just older ones are gonna leave at this point after a series of bad patches. So enjoy those in Your region while you can, maybe you live in a pothole that happens to have a stable 4 to 1 ratio, but in plenty of the USA I am really looking forward to next week's survivor complaints about queue lengths, afk killers when they finally get one, and nothing but the sweatiest killers when they're not afk. Man it is gonna be good. I love the Power Patch... it's so bad.

  • and naturally one never asks one's self why those killers afk or it takes 10 to 15 minutes finding a lobby, it's always mi mi mi

and when you say you're out you should say it with class like in Clueless

  • I have that on ps2 where I originally played it and then got it on steam too years back... when I first played that game it was a totally fresh kind of video game experience made even better with brian cox especially for people who enjoyed the manhunter (unrelated to the game, the first film appearance of hannibal lecter) movie.

  • @Mushwin said:

Sorry but Mori's NEEDED to be nerfed, it's tiring and pathetic to be one hooked then mori'd in 5mins, wooh hoo!

How long did it take to grind the last 10-20 levels that way? I'm seriously considering this right now lol

oh dude if it's on xp alone even with killer lobbies in seconds it's gonna take like a week to do that for hours on hours on hours and a huge chunk of the weekend too. depending on how many levels you need you still might have some levels left youc ould just use the auric it all gave you to straight up buy if the rewards are worth it or those levels give you auric back to compound the last 5 or 6 levels which I've done. When you want something over with , you're tempted to just it over with and without handing them even more money for inconveniencing you which only encourages it to be worse the next time. I'm certainly not doing killer challenges any more and this is the last rift I'll buy even if they put pam anderson naked in the next rift.

If you're 36 now you're probably not finishing it without buying 10 to 20 of those levels btw even if you play non stop. The next rift is tomorrow I think,a nd the last rift iirc you only get about a week to finish. Plus certain killer challenges that may come with it might have just become much more tedious, even if not too much more difficult in the typical matches you get. I'd say afk a few here and there. but let the last 20 levels or so go. This rifts rewards are ######### anyways for the most part and not worth risking a ban on a 24/7 afk. 24/7 is a whole notha level of afk. And they will know even if not a single person reports you for it, but mostly since reports don't matter anyways unless there is a massive amount of them against an account.

They'll just probably have something setup to detect the patterns if you afk all day and night, and flag you for review and probably think you're botting it. They haven't said much definitive about afking occasionally on killers since they know alot of people do it to derank who otherwise would remove themselves as a killer out of the pool, but they have said more than once if a killer is using a macrro to do it they will ban them. The last thing you wanna do is get somebody to assume you've set up a queue macro or something, basically botting afk and requeue, though whent hey mentioned macros they were talking about the M! macro afk killers but they dislike macros period whether survivor or killer uses them actively playing or just doing it to queue. And if they think you're a bot, you could be in trouble. Imagine ana ppeal being, "but I wasn't macroing I was deliberately putting myself back into queue so I could afk every moment I wasn't sleeping." With a killer shortage coming they'll probably not like hearing that as a ban appeal if you overdo it.

  • @derppug said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1806894#Comment_1806894

Do you actually? I wouldn't mind doing it if it doesnt get me banned. But how much would I have to do this? I'd assume a couple hours each day for the next whatever days left

I've finished previous rifts last 10-20 levels much of the way like that, and gave it noed and blood warden since it's boring so that sometimes if people are ducking around I'll kill a couple or few on their way out for wasting my time. A few times I also used the brown addon that gives him a threat radius while cloaked with distressing for the lulz. I spawned right in the center of middlewich once and it was hilarious seeing a bill right up in my face trying tof igure out what was going on, he asked in end game chat was the killer bugged LOL./ All of that can be done while doing something more interesting, watching tv, or playing another game.

Don't do it all at once, and don't spend all night doing it. Like what i said about the noed/bloodwarden moments, something like that or playing for a match every couple or few doesn't look so bad and I also threw in a couple or few survivor matches after 3 to 5 afk wraith matches if I was only active for one of the matches or none of them. They can look at all the data, I don't believe they care as long as you are not a Survivor afking often since then you could get others killed and make it impossible to escape in some situations for them even... but as a killer you aren't impeding anybody at all so it's morally acceptable especially after bad patches pop up out of the blue and you've already paid for the rift and it's the only reliable way to finish it between long survivors queues and not feeling enthused about playing killer. Just spread it out and don't overdo it. And skip a night after a couple in a row. only did it for the past two rifts, but hadn't been banned for it so far. If I got banned it would most likely be for end game chat lol.

chocolate chip cookies are always the best

I'm only waiting for cyberpunk right now, when I have to wait over 5 minutes for alobby I get distracted and come back with barely enough time to hide or at least run if I haven't come back dead once I remembered I'd forgotten I was in dbd queue. I don't have the patience to stare at the lobby I reckon. When I'm on pc I can tell when it's a lobby found by the sounds, but on ps5 if I switch channels to pc to watch a yt or do another game I often totally forget the console dbd version is still in a queue since I can't hear it until I switch channels back lol.

Exposed only works with normal hits I believe, so that's why it doesn't work with Victor. Pretty sure they won't change this because of consistency. But I do believe it might be better that way anyways, being able to one shot down with Victor could be a bit over the top. You could easily go on a rampage with Victor when using NOED during end game.

Now that I think about it, Victor with NOED would probably be completely broken.

being able to place yourself to cut soomebody off or be ont he other side of the map instantly is enough without him being able to one shot somebody too. she seems more like a chess piece killer, people are gonna be figuring out to be tactical with her rather than being a straight chaser.

  • Yes, come to the survivor side, we have cookies and queue times.

  • I was waiting to see a thread like this pop up later LOL

  • goldsink

  • that's not as bad as it could be actually, I was expecting something like rank 10 or 11 or worse like 14 against a red comms team with keys and maps or something by the title. in purple you should expect to deal with thats ometimes. you could afk wraith and derank until around 9 or 10 to lessent he frequency. iirc it won't let you derank any lower than 16 once you've hit there though and with the shortages it really won't make a big difference these days anyways, at least not once the weekend's over and the majority of the active playerbase knows what happened including the weekend warriors. More 12-14 are gonna start seeing this by next week, and the more of them quit the fewer killers there will be to go around in a brief feedback loop lol.

Mori's are the only reliable counter to keys, which are untouched. That is the problem with this. Nobody disagreed that they both needed changes, but they need to happen at the same time.

Also personally i don't think making them based on 2nd hook is a good idea. This effectively makes them useless. The mori animation often takes longer than just hooking, and when using a mori you lose out on hook perks like BBQ/Pop/Thrilling. The only thing they are good for now is tunneling a survivor on their last hook, which isn't fun for anyone.

    A better mori rework:

    • Ebony and Ivory Moris now work on a token system, every time you hook a survivor you gain 1 token, every time survivors complete a generator, you lose 1 token. Spend 4 tokens to mori a downed survivor.
    • Ivory mori allows you to do this 1 time.
    • Ebony mori allows you to do this 2 times. When the trial begins, the generator furthest from the killer is automatically completed.
    • Yellow mori is now basekit.

losing tokens makes it worthless against swf int hat one too, plus 4 hooks is a ridiculous amount to thin a swf herd quickly enough to be useful, that's not better than devour since devour lets you one shot them too. and if they gett he hex too soon just afk if they play like an annoying comms group. It's not like you'll be the one sitting waiting for the next match for over ten minutes afterwards

    Nope. They're entirely comparable.

Keys can be (mostly) fixed with a single number change.

The hatch stays open for 30 seconds after being opened by a key right now, allowing the entire team to hop out immediately.

Lower that from 30 to 0, meaning only one person can escape like that, and keys are suddenly a lot more reasonable, since they're incredibly selfish and greedy.

at this point keys should only be able to be used to reopen the hatch after a killer closes it in cases it's a hatch matcha nd your whole team is dead, and otherwise with at least two survivors alive it should only be able to open the hatch once an exit gate has been opened. if mori can no longer kill theme arly then keys should no longer let them escape early. end of discussion unless you get those ai killers quick enough to keep your queue times shorter once the weekend hits and everybody sees what's happened and that all the swf are now running around like they just burned down your neighborhood with impunity. People aren't gonna wanna stress out to that #########, they're just gonna queue as survivor instead of killer until the queues get too long and then they'll play something else if they're not already playing Cyberpunk by then until the smoke clears. This patch just might be the big one, and it's not about whether or not somebody even ever used a mori, it's about the message sent with it to killers. It's been a long year for some people, and I guarantee some of them are not gonna keep tolerating these devs on top of it, they're gonna go play something more fun for them.
