Is it just me or does the Predator seem somewhat underpowered? I played 2 games as Fireteam (cause Predator queues are too long) and we've killed the Predator with ease both times.

I'm not sure if it's underpowered or just not having learned how to properly play it yet. We just got the trial about six hours ago.

Predator queues were around eight minutes for me, and the Fireteam would shred me if I didn't immediately start laying into one of them. Even then, I had to book it the moment I killed one because at least one member had arrived as backup and was shooting at me. Also the Predator's apparently really easy to see while cloaked, so getting the drop on them can be pretty hard.

  • I see myself mainly playing the Predator. It looks like it's going to take a long time to learn how to play it, so I'd like to get a head start by playing the trial.

One thing that I really don't get is why can the Fireteam bring back their dead members? It just seems so weird how they can get a second chance at life. I can understand the Predator getting that because they're an advanced alien race that's been all over the galaxy, but why should a group of normal human soldiers? I would think reinforcements would be some kind of buff to the remaining soldiers.

  • Doctor is fine. No nerfs necessary.

Also Calm Spirit is not his only counter. Lockers and staying out of his terror radius work wonders against Static Blast (which already has a 60 second cooldown and can only be reduced to 50 seconds with two add-ons). Not camping windows or pallets and throwing pallets early help counter his shock stun.

Umm what? With distressing and addons you can increase his terror radius to 60 meters.

Key words: at base, meaning no perks or add-ons are active.

I'm sorry but I stopped reading whatever you said after 20 people out of a community of millions.

You expect me to personally know and meet millions of people on a video game?

They were 20 people I BARELY met too. I didn't coach them to say they hate doctor. I didn't even bring up doctor.

It's just people I meet playing survivor and I invite them in voice chat sometimes and they initiate the "doctor needs a nerf" stuff.

I mean that is nearly everyone I've played doctor with and they all hate doctor which is funny to me but I guess I need to have 1 million friends in voice chat all saying "I hate doctor and he needs a nerf" for my argument to be valid enough for these doctor mains over here lmao

The way you wrote it sounded like those 20 people meant everything and that Doctor objectively needed a nerf because they said so. Of course you don't need to personally meet a million people, but those people's opinions mean nothing if a community of millions is disagreeing with them.

Also, you should never stop reading a post before you get to the end. You might miss some key information.

  • @luvcraft said:

wait, really? I was thinking it was maybe just because I've been sick and so I was thinking slower. :)

I don't think the devs have acknowledged it yet, but it definitely exists. Why else would you randomly slow down in the middle of the chase for no apparent reason?

  • There's currently a bug with all characters where you move slower for some reason. It's really punishing.

  • Counters:

    1. Distortion
    2. Lockers
    3. Hide behind a gen's aura
    4. Be within 40 meters of the Killer
    5. Fake out the Killer by going in one direction and then moving the other
    6. Off the Record

Also, if you guys are barely able to get one gen completed every time, then that sounds like you guys just suck at the game.

  • @Murdle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1179464#Comment_1179464

That's definitely not biased coming from a doctor main.

By 95% of the community you mean 95% of people who play doctor or main killer, actually. All made up and biased statistics. It means nothing.

Here's something that's true and actually objective.

I met a lot of friends (well over 20 people) on dbd and some of us party up and play a few games everyday.

Nearly all of them have complained how the doctor is their least favorite killer to go up against, and that he needs a nerf.

Some of my friends are also strong killer mains so take that information how you will.

Here's another objective piece of information. I've looked at polls and or posted discussions and looking at all of the replies and votes, doctor is among one of the top 3 most hated killers to play against.

    #1 being freddy.

I think he can use a nerf cause honestly.. The majority of survivors do not enjoy playing against him AT ALL.

20 people out of a community of millions.

I take it you're pretty new to the game. Doctor was almost always said to be low or mid tier and had a lot of problems. There was a lot of hype surrounding his changes. While I can't give you an exact percentage, I can give a pretty good guess using my memory.

Also have you only looked at or posted polls and discussions on the forums? There's a lot more platforms out there where people discuss the game. Doctor is also supposed to make you go crazy. That's what the devs want. Even then, people aren't saying he's OP. They just don't like going against him. Every game is going to have a type of enemy that players do not like. Doctor and Freddy just happen to be those types of enemies.

  • It's because a stun can be very damaging to the Killer. Forcing the Killer to stand still for three seconds and possibly denying them a hook can be game-changing. It would also be very unfun to deal with instastuns throughout the game.

And honestly, with how much dedicated servers mess with the perk, I don't think changing it is a good idea.

  • @Murdle said:

If anything he needed a huge ass nerf

Who actually asked for any buffs to the doctor? Besides doctor mains, of course..

    @Kira15233

Like 95% of the community wanted Doctor buffs. Have you two been living under a rock for the past couple of years or so?

Also until his rework, there weren't a lot of Doctor mains out there. His rework increased his popularity by a good amount.

    @Brodie said:

That static blast half way across the map every minute is a joke, can't even loop him as much anymore, kills ur exhaustion perks and can't vault, pallet drop or even get someone off the hook for 3 seconds...

I said to maself i would never complain about killers again until i saw this doc post 😂

Maybe I can help you out.

Static Blast is tied to his terror radius, which is 32 meters at base. You must be on a lot of small maps or facing a lot of Doctors with multiple terror radius increasing effects.

He lost the add-on that applied Exhaustion.

As for looping him and his shock stun, do not camp pallets or vaults. Keep going around them until you have to drop the pallet or have an opportunity to safely vault. If he's preventing you from getting an unhook, then that means you're feeding a camper and you should just leave the Survivor so you rush the gens or he chased you there, which is just bad luck for you and your teammate.

  • This would be a huge help when prestiging your characters. I'd be down for this.

Again why would be hurt by a no life sweatlord? When did I ever say that I was hurt or upset? I simply called someone out lmao

You messaged the Killer to throw multiple insults at her. Do insults not mean someone's upset anymore? The fact that you're calling her a no life shows that you're still upset.

  • Wait a minute, you guys aren't taking the game seriously yet a Killer playing to win hurts you this much?

    Something fishy's going on here.

Also the Killer's saying you're harassing her because you started the argument and kept sending her insults.

  • The only reason it's back is because there's apparently a cult following for this add-on, meaning that somewhere, there is a group of people that somehow ######### love Scrapped Tape.

    @Mister_xD said:

my vote goes to the Torn Bookmark.

who came up with this idea as a serious add on? AND WHO MADE THIS ULTRA RARE?!?

They most likely gave it Ultra Rare only because it gives you an extra blink. I guess they must really want that three blink achievement to be a pain in the ass to get.

Blood Echo is a very good perk on Plague, provided the Survivors don't cleanse. If they do, you won't need the perk, but if they don't it's also useful. You're at the rank where most people don't cleanse, so that's a good choice. Pop is also great, but I wouldn't run 4 slowdown perks. It's just not worth it. Pop by itself is fine. If you want to start chases fast, use BBQ for the bloodpoints and the auras. Dying Light isn't that good. Thana is also a very good choice on a Killer like Plague. It forces them to cleanse or do everything slower, both of which will benefit you. I'd personally run Thanataphobia, Blood Echo, BBQ, and Pop. You can't rely on Thana by itself after a few Survivors have died, so Pop lets you slow down after. BBQ for BP and map knowledge.

Dying Light is good on Plague though. Like Blood Echo, it relies on Survivors not cleansing. The Obsession can't use their healing bonus if everyone's broken.

  • @Peanits said:

I would like to extend our deepest apologies for offending you with free bloodpoints.

    @Mandy said:

Unbelievable that we put something on for whilst people are quarantined - and yet people still complain :(

It's 3 weeks of extra blood points - I dunno, maybe we thought some people might be happy about that or something!

I am very grateful for the free BP you guys are giving to us. After all, 1.5x BP is better than nothing. I do have a question however and that is how you guys decide what BP modifier to use. Do you guys just take a few seconds to talk about it or is there a longer process to this (like was it in the works for days or possibly weeks)?

  • @Vampirox said:

    Or...

    Quick Stim:

after getting hit by the killer you heal a health state after (#) seconds, causes exhaustion by 60/50/40 seconds

The numbers are going to make or break this perk for both sides. Too quick and you have the old insta heal, too slow and it’s basically useless.

  • It’s been doing this on all platforms ever since 2.2.0 in September 2018. PS4 and PC have dedicated servers, which make it even worse.

  • Hillbilly and Legion.

    Dwight and Ace.

  • Yes, but make it only count as half a pallet. You could break two pallet and one pallet or four walls to activate Spirit Fury.

  • No, he's just hard to master. You have to understand where to place portals and when to use your Shred for an attack or to fake out the Survivor.

  • It's because of sabo's synergy with perk builds and SWF. You can run a tank build plus sabo and a toolbox and become a huge pain in the Killer's ass. It gets even worse when the Survivors are coordinating or they're all running similar builds.

  • They were probably just "thank you for supporting us for a month/year" gifts.

Consoles have free DLCs with them to celebrate the game's arrival to a new platform. Plus, only a madman wouldn't want Doctor in their game lol.

  • Make it a triple BP event! More incentives to stay inside and self-isolate. If that's not enough, then think about this: you, a relative or a friend could end up dead all because one person decided to not self-isolate, happened to be infected, and then they passed it on to you when you had to go out for essential supplies. It might sound stupid at first, but thousands of lives could be saved by simply having a BP event.

    @Peanits triple BP event please?

  • I've been playing about an hour a day and I'm at tier 35. I plan to go on a super grind since I'm out of school due to the coronavirus and try to complete as many challenges as I can so I can get to tier 57 for the Doctor charm. I don't think I'll get to tier 70, but if I do, then that's cool I guess.

Do you only say that now because of his Rework and the fact he is I wont say OP but certainly much higher on the killer list than he use to be? lol

I mean had they asked this before the rework when people hated him do you think you would still like that DLC?

Sorry just asking because personally I like the Clown DLC and I know he is not the best killer but I liked the Clown from the start. I even liked the Doctor BEFORE the rework and now he is just crazy in a good way. rofl

I do not mean to question your DLC like and I am sorry. =(

No, I’ve been a Doctor fan since I started playing in September 2017.

It’s ok, I know a lot of people didn’t like him back then but he’s actually what got me to upgrade from the free weekend to the full game. When I saw just how good the rework made him, I was ecstatic. My favorite Killer was now going to be one of the stronger ones.

She’s a pretty good patient. I don’t normally have a problem with her. She takes her treatment without many complaints for the most the part.

  • Spark of Madness. It came with the best character in DbD.

  • Honestly the only really annoying part about this challenge is that you need the Killer to not get stomped and you need to beat the other three Survivors to the hook four times all in a single game. If the Killer doesn’t get enough hooks or the other Survivors die too quick or beat you to the unhook, then you’re screwed.

What I would do is bring at least Borrowed Time and stay near the Killer. When someone goes down, get ready for the unhook. You can either wait until they leave or rush in for the unhook and bodyblock the Killer (in case BT doesn’t activate for whatever reason). If you’re not the only one there, then just rush in and beat that Survivor to the unhook.

  • Jane just because of how reliant Head On is on people's connections. I'm just about fed up with seeing my Killer open the locker, prepare to grab the Survivor, and then have it canceled and I get stunned because a connection got messed up. I'm fine with everything else about her, it's just Head On that annoys the hell out of me.

  • Survivors would just DC when there's one gen left to give the others the win.

  • I'd say it's still Darkness Among Us. While we got an amazing menu theme and great perk in Discordance, everything else was meh to flaming garbage. At least the perks from Chains of Hate have synergy with other perks and the map is great.

    UPDATE:

So they got a final response back from support, and they confirmed: IT WAS FOR THE MEME GAMES.

In one match they only found one survivor in their meme game so they killed them, but left everyone else alone because they never came in their territory. Since he "Did not participate with the other survivors" he was banned for "Griefing and Exploiting Game mechanics".

Basically if survivors feel "Alienated or targeted" like, that's a terrifyingly broad descriptor.....but anyways......

He currently has been so disappointed in that decision that now he just doesn't want to play anymore, can't say I really blame him.

Anyways so yeah guys, unfortunately it's official, meme games as killer are indeed bannable. This revelation has me disheartened as well, I've never been banned but just knowing that's a risk for something so asinine....I'm questioning my interest in the game going forward now as well.

That's pathetic. Why can't the Killer just mess around if they want to? It's sad that some Survivors are that competitive to where they get salty over a Killer just having some fun.

I wonder what this means for the three gen strat. Will it join meme games in becoming bannable?

  • Bumping because this is still happening, even after the last update.

  • @KingFrost said:

I think the key challenge is a lot worse. You're going to piss off killers, who'll bring Ebony Mori's just because you're trying to do a stupid challenge. And then you have to FIND the hatch before the killer and open it. And you can't really listen for it then.

At least with that you can bring a stealth build + Left Behind to make it a little bit easier. Killers don't even have a perk that reveals the Hatch.

  • @KingFrost said:

I mean after you hook the second to last guy, slug the last guy and go looking for the hatch. You can listen for it then. That's how I did it.

Yeah, that does work. I just hate how out of your control and up to chance it is. You can go 100 games without finding the Hatch first or you could find it on your first try.

  • @Milo said:

Even tho these challenges are SUPER luck reliant, pretty much every challenge is atleast somewhat luck reliant... just because you can't predict 100% what will happen in a trial.

You’re right, but at least the others you have much more control over. You don’t have any control over these. These ones are basically “did you run in the right direction at the right time?” and you have no way of knowing what direction that is.

    @KingFrost said:

Slug the last guy, go find the hatch. Pretty simple.

That would work if the Hatch wasn’t a small square that could appear literally anywhere and only spawns closed after a specific set of conditions have been met. Killers don’t even have a perk that lets them see the Hatch like Survivors do. If the Survivors haven’t repaired enough gens to meet one of the conditions, then they can easily just give up and not repair gens while you’re looking for the last one.

lmao, y'all so pathetic, you clearly don't give a ######### about people dying, you just want double blood points, for a stupid ass videogame.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1170050#Comment_1170050

eh, I'm in italy, and a pretty known website gave free premium accounts for Italians, so most people will stay home.

but to end it here, people will stay home if they care and are respectful, what is this player base like? a solid 20k per day, it wouldn't matter, if people want to leave their house, they will; not caring about any possible fine.

Unfortunately, people don’t care about that. They don’t understand just how infectious this virus is. Have you seen that video of teens refusing to stay inside and getting upset that everything being closed because they wanted to enjoy spring break? Once they heard that young people weren’t getting hit as hard as the elderly, they took it as “we can do whatever because we’re immune”. I wonder how happy they’re going to be once they catch the virus or worse, one of their older relatives catches it and is dying. By not self-isolating, you are possibly endangering millions of lives, including your own family.

  • It’ll be fixed when the MMR system comes out. Rank will be made meaningless soon and they’ll be hidden from everyone but you. You won’t be able to tell how ######### the matchmaking is then.

I have a feeling that this won’t be fixed until BHVR acknowledges that a good amount of Killers who said they were leaving after the Ruin nerf actually left and threw off the matchmaking system. I don’t remember there being nearly as much bad matchmaking complaints until that patch dropped. You have a bunch of matchmaking problems arise at the same time a very popular perk is changed? It can’t be a coincidence.

  • I was also thinking that. Apparently all of his threads and posts are gone because I couldn’t find any of them when I looked up his username.

  • @YaiPa said:

would you offer sympathy also for survivors that quit? Yes or no. Im sure you tell them gg and keep their head up, rather than insult them. I’m familiar with you not only here but Reddit in the past, and know you are insanely biased.

I'm not as biased as you think, but I think that's kinda off topic. I'm on PS4 so I really wouldn't take the time to message someone most of the time. If I did, then of course I wouldn't insult them. I have no way of knowing if there was an emergency or something they had to take care of that required them to DC.

  • @Karl_Childers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1169825#Comment_1169825

You mean the killer who quit? Ahh yes I’m sure you offer the same sympathy to survirors who give up against you. They are the victim too, right?

Biased nonsense coming from you again ...shocking.

I'm a little confused here. I offered a possible reason as to why the Survivors went berserk on him in the end game chat. Then I said why I think DbD attracts so much toxicity, and I didn't even say it came from one side.

  • Infectious Fright is obvious. You down one person, see another, go down them, see another, repeat. Since picking up a Survivor pauses his power, use this to get the most use out of it.

BBQ and PGTW let you zoom over to the Survivor or generator with Demon Dash.

Monitor and Abuse so the Survivors have less time to hide when you get close and his music is apparently really quiet at first, so the Survivors might not hear it until you're right on top of them.

Sloppy Butcher works because you want to heal against Oni. Staying injured gives him his power. The Survivors will have to choose between healing for 20+ seconds or staying injured and feeding Oni. Nurse's Calling also works for these reasons. If the Survivors decide to heal, you'll spot them with Nurse's.

Deerstalker and Knock Out help when slugging the Survivors.

Corrupt Intervention helps Oni in the early game, where he is at his weakest (115% Killer with basically no power).

  • @Ghostwithaface said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1169928#Comment_1169928

Yeah i just when and check it up. Trapper shares the same base movement speed as ghostface, Billy and others. So if trapper is indeed to fast. You would need to nerf every other killer with the same base movement speed. Which would seem odd, going by the op original post. That only trapper is an issue, when others share the same base movement speed as him, not counting for add ons or special abilities of course.

Trapper doesn't even have any increased mobility, so by that logic, Billy, Oni, Wraith, Legion, Hag, Demogorgon, and Spirit must be insanely OP then because they have mobility tools (even though Spirit and Hag are 110% Killers, they can still get around the map quickly).

  • @Nyxis_Fier said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1169931#Comment_1169931

I actually play both sides. Surge and overcharge are fine in my opinion. I just think 2 whole minutes is a long time to have the gens captivated. They already nerfed the toolbox to the ground.

It's really not. Two minutes is just fine. Sounds like either you and your teammates suck at looping/hiding or you're going up against Killers who are willing to pull out all the stops to win ASAP. What rank are you?

  • Why am I not surprised? Ruin gets nerfed, so the Survivors move on to the next best thing. Let me guess, we're going to keep doing this until Surge and Overcharge are left?

  • ...what? Please be kidding. Please. He's the same speed as most of the Killer cast!

1 … 37 38 39 40 41 … 82
