Just be aware of when was the last time he used his Static Blast so you can be prepared to jump in a locker or run. Sometimes reaching a new Madness tier is the best option, especially if there's multiple Survivors in the area.

On the other hand, you clearly stomped some players who were not even close to your Skill Level. Do you expect a Reward for this?
If I stomp a group of players, most of the time that would mean I'm at the wrong rank and I should be pushed up much farther to play with players that are at my skill level.
@LetsPlayTogether said:
So you just didnt do the objectives mentioned by the emblems. Not the games fault, your fault.
You've got to be ######### kidding me. Did the Killer's objectives really switch from mercilessly destroy the Survivors to give them a couple chances and then kill them if they fail?
-
I really hope that we get cross progression with the next update. I've already got an Xbox and I'm about to get a laptop (and before I get anyone freaking out that I'm getting a laptop instead of a PC for gaming, it's only temporary) and I would prefer to not start over twice.

They are no longer following the 2 week rule. They said they want more time "to really fix" each patch before they release it. It is more or less 3 weeks now. Might even be 4, who knows.
I thought they started the two week rule with Chains of Hate and they stopped following the one week rule. Did I miss something in between Chains of Hate and today?
-
I think that you should be allowed to choose your intro movie and main menu music.
-
I would think April 21st. The devs want to release updates two weeks after the PTB launches. The Rift is supposed to begin April 29th.
-
His weapon is just so small that the game has to mess with it in order to make the lunge look like it hit.
-
This system made me stop caring about pips. It’s that #########. I cared about them a little bit before but now I’ve just stopped. The devs clearly had no clue what they were doing when they last touched the entire Emblem system (not just one Emblem) in 2.6.0. Some Killers are punished for using their powers, which is one of the stupidest things about this system. It’s basically designed to punish you for playing efficiently. Getting a safety pip or even DEPIPPING after getting four sacrifices should never happen. Hell, you shouldn’t depip if you get three or four kills or you escape. Those should automatically guarantee a safety pip.
-
You can see the Killer’s username (at least on PS4). I’ve gotten messaged in the past by Survivors while in the pre-game lobby.
I’m not in favor of removing the usernames from the lobby because you wouldn’t be able to dodge toxic Survivors. I’d rather let everyone see usernames than hide them.
-
Its add-ons are too focused on the portals, a lot of its add-ons have pathetic numbers that make them not worth their rarity, and it tells Survivors when it does anything. The Undetectable effect is nearly worthless when you hear it teleport and a loud “BOOM BOOM BOOM”. Demo needs to lose all of the mapwide sound cues and have its footstep volume lowered to the other Killers’ level. The only one that I could see being fine is the teleportation one, and that’s only if the sound cue distance is tremendously reduced.
-
Dedicated servers don't help her out. I've had incidents where the entire stream went through the Survivor and did nothing to them.
-
She's the best Killer, but she's extremely difficult to learn and struggles with bugs, so most people don't want to play her. Finding a god Nurse after her nerfs can be like finding a shiny Pokemon. They're out there, but you have to get extremely lucky (or unlucky) to find them.
-
BBQ, Corrupt, STBFL, and PGTW. Add-ons are Mew's Guts and Rat Liver.
BBQ and PGTW are good perks in general and you can quickly teleport to the Survivors or generators.
Corrupt is to help out with the early game (placing portals).
STBFL because you can just Shred the Obsession and keep all of your stacks.
Mew's Guts to help you regain distance if you missed a Shred and you get one extra portal as a bonus.
Rat Liver makes you slightly faster than a Survivor while charging Shred, so you don't lose as much distance while getting ready to Shred or seeing if Survivors are near your portals.

Tell that to my Doctor when I have you crying after being hit.. Thana, Dying Light(7+ stacks), Coulrophobia and Sloppy have you healing at a -86%, repairing at -36% and begging for mercy.
I thought slow healing effects didn't stack.

so what your saying is they have to walk over a portal for the effect to happen , it does not activate if the survivors do not walk over the portal but start destroying it from the edges ? or does it just activate after the portal is destroyed to whichever survivor/s destroyed it ?
The Oblivious effect activates the moment they touch anywhere on the portal.

They do now. Read early comments.
No, they don't. Private profiles do not always mean SWF. Some people just don't want everything about them to be public or like keeping to themselves. If you think that every private profile in DbD is possibly hiding an SWF group, then you're crazy.
-
Just put it in the post match screen. It won't hurt anybody if you know they're SWF after the match has finished. If you put it in the lobby, then Survivor queue times will increase because Killers will know they're about to go up against a 4 man SWF and dodge.
-
It's extremely annoying. I know I hit the open locker button, so why the ######### are you stunning me?! Give me my ######### grab you mess of a game! I actually had a moment where I actually opened the locker (I could see the Survivor inside) and then the game canceled it out in favor of the Survivor stunning me. ######### like that really pisses me off.
I'm also not sure how I feel about being able to weaponize lockers. I know that a lot of people like being able to stun the Killer using a locker, but getting inside a locker is supposed to be extremely dangerous and could lead to your death.
-
Doctor's been my go to Killer since 2017.
-
I think the devs were trying to make it feel more like a monster, but it ended up hurting Demo a lot. No other Killer has a ######### mapwide sound effect when they swing.
-
I hope they will. Extra BP is always a good thing.
-
What would Rat Liver's replacement be?
-
Hell no. In that situation just leave the Survivor. Tear through the remaining gens.
-
Because they look cool.
There's no way the devs will remove them. Moris will most likely get reworked in the future to address the many complaints that the playerbase has regarding them.
-
Your Stab Wounds Study is only active while the Survivor is in Deep Wound, right? I think that'd be a great idea because you really shouldn't be doing anything else while you have a deep wound open. How can you repair a gen or sabotage a hook in that condition? Legion is still a 115% M1 Killer, so it's not like you'll be able to constantly put people in DW. Maybe give it some downsides to ensure it doesn't completely destroy the game.
-
Nurse is still the best, she's just much harder to play now.
-
Dead Hard only for when I'm being tunneled. I don't really like using Exhaustion perks as I feel like the perk is what outplayed the Killer, not actual Survivor skill. Like if I vault at the wrong time or get caught hiding, I've got SB/Lithe/BL to save me.
-
I don't think so. If a single player kept getting reported, the devs would look at the gameplay and see if it's just salty players or genuine reports. If you could ban someone for just getting reported a lot, I could easily see people taking advantage of that and reporting players that beat them every chance they got in hopes of getting them banned.
-
Nurse. She moves so slow and missing a blink can be really punishing.
-
It's a very popular cosmetic, which increases the chance that you'll find a toxic player using it.
-
The devs do not understand how to make a good ranking system at all. They want you to give as many chances to the other team as possible, especially when it comes to playing Killer. I shouldn't get punished for quickly sacrificing all four Survivors or because a Survivor disconnected. ######### the lore when it comes to the ranking system. Situations like this is where the Victory Cube really shined. You quickly sacrificed everybody or had some Survivors to DC to rob you of a hook? No worries, you got a double pip. You didn't safety pip because you denied the Survivors their chance at "fun". The fact that you can depip off a 3k or 4k is ######### stupid.
@NovaliumTS said:
To get pips you need to be working on your emblems getting stuff like max chase, max hooks, max survivor pressure and gen pressure, with no gens completed thats already an iridescent emblem, hooks from what you said should be gold or iri, survivor pressure would be around gold and chase would be iridescent aswell if what you said was true so unless your not telling us something here you should definitely be getting pips
Chaser had to have been Silver or less. If OP killed them as fast as he says, then he couldn't have gotten Gold or Iridescent Chaser. It punishes you for killing the Survivors too quickly. In red ranks, getting an Iridescent, two Golds, and a Silver will put you one tick away from getting a pip.
-
There is no way the devs took it into account when nerfing Nurse's add-ons. I wouldn't mind if they removed the extra blink part from Torn Bookmark and changed to the achievement to just getting a grab after a blink or somehow buffed the Torn Bookmark for this achievement.

The first Developer Update of the new year is here! In this series of blogposts, we take a look at some upcoming changes and improvements making their way into Dead by Daylight, as well as our progress on any pressing issues. This time around, we’ll be revealing the changes coming to Toolboxes and Items, changes to a pair of Killers, and a new game changing feature.
Matchmaking
We are working on a brand-new matchmaking and ranking system. In case you missed it, you can read up on the full details here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124795/
Toolbox Repair Changes
Toolboxes have been on our to-do list for a while now. While they aren’t always a game changer on their own, they can quickly become problematic when multiple Survivors choose to bring one into a trial. Since repairing Generators is the Survivors’ main objective, we want to make sure that they cannot speed up their repairs too much. This is something we’ve kept in mind with perks, which is why so few perks affect repair speed. Toolboxes were an outlier in that they could be used to considerably speed up your repairs across multiple generators, shaving off a lot of repair time.
To balance this, we are drastically lowering the number of charges Toolboxes have, but increasing their repair speed to compensate. This way you’ll be able to repair a small portion of a Generator very quickly, but your Toolbox will run out much sooner as well. This change has two large benefits:
- Toolboxes have a much lower impact on the match and can no longer be used the whole time you repair. The amount of time saved with a Toolbox is much lower overall.
- There is more strategy involved in when you should use your Toolbox. (e.g. Do you use it right away and risk being interrupted before you can finish the Generator, or do you save it for a moment where the Killer is heading your way and the Generator is almost done?)
Toolboxes have also had their add-ons reviewed to go in line with these changes.
Sabotage Changes
We have made changes to sabotage as well to go along with the updated Toolboxes. There’s a few things we’d like to address with the current sabotage mechanic:
- Sabotage saves take a lot of time and coordination to pull off, making them very difficult and unreliable.
- If a coordinated team pulls it off, the Killer is forced to slug the Survivor(s) since they cannot make it to a hook. If the Survivor(s) are using Unbreakable or No Mither, it can be pretty unfair to the Killer.
To make sabotaging more interesting and accessible, we have made the following changes:
- Sabotaging now takes only a few seconds, but progress resets if you cancel the interaction.
- The number of hooks that can be sabotaged with a single toolbox is very limited.
- Sabotaged hooks respawn much faster.
- Hooks can now be sabotaged from any angle.
- Bear Traps can no longer be sabotaged.
The result is a much more dynamic sabotage interaction: Rather than running around getting hooks ready at the start of a match, sabotaging is now something that can be done on the fly. Meanwhile, if the Killer reacts quickly, they may be able to take the Survivor to a different hook in time or drop the Survivor and try again when the hook respawns shortly after.
To match the changes to sabotaging, we have adjusted the following perks:
Saboteur:
- See the auras of hooks within the Killer’s carrying range when a Survivor is picked up.
- Sabotage a hook without the need for a Toolbox, with a cooldown.
Hangman’s Trick:
- Gain a notification when a hook sabotage starts.
- While carrying a Survivor, see the auras of any Survivors within a set range of a hook.
Breakdown:
- Hooks broken with this perk will remain broken for three minutes.
Item Retention Update
With the update to Toolboxes and the recent Medkit changes in mind, we have made changes to the way items are handled once they are used up. Currently, an efficient Survivor will keep an eye on their item and stop using it at the last second in order to escape with it and keep it. Since most items are used up very quickly now, we want to avoid awkward situations where you’re trying to stop at the last second and accidentally destroy your item.
Going forward, items will not be destroyed if all their charges are used up. Instead, the item will be disabled for the rest of the match. If you escape with an item with no charges left, it will be added back to your inventory as always.
At the same time, we’ll be making it so that any add-ons you equip are consumed after the match (whether you escape with the item or not). This is inline with Killer add-ons, which are single use. Ace in the Hole will allow you to keep any add-ons you escape the trial with.
New Feature: Breakable Walls
Debuting alongside the next chapter, we are pleased to announce a new feature that will allow Killers to shape the map as they hunt down Survivors: Breakable walls. This mechanic is available to all Killers.
Breakable walls appear in preset locations, much like pallets. Unlike pallets, a Survivor cannot interact with them in any way. The Killer, however, can walk up to one of these walls and break it down whenever they like.
For now, they will be exclusive to the upcoming map, where we’ll be experimenting with different uses. Breaking some may make a strong window loop weaker, allowing you to catch up much quicker. Others might open up new paths to get around the map faster. We’ll be keeping a close eye on how everyone uses them to see what works best before adding them to existing maps.
When breakable walls are added to other maps, they will appear differently to suit the Realm’s theme. Although they may look different from one map to the next, we will make sure that they are easily recognizable so it is clear which walls can and can’t be broken at a glance.
Additionally, any Perk or Add-on that affects pallet breaking speed will be extended to breakable walls. Killer Powers that can break pallets will also be able to break these walls.
Killer Changes
With the release of the next chapter, a few existing Killers will be receiving some slight changes.
The Doctor
With the update The Doctor received in the last mid-chapter, there are now two ways to inflict Madness: Shock Therapy, and Static Blast. To make it clearer what is required to increase a Survivor’s Madness level, we are making the following changes:
- Madness no longer decays passively over time.
- Shock Therapy will add half of a Madness level to any Survivors hit.
- Static Blast will add a full Madness level to any Survivors hit.
Overall, the amount of times you need to shock a Survivor to increase their Madness should feel roughly the same since their Madness will no longer passively decay. Our hope is that this will make it much clearer to both the person playing The Doctor and any Survivors playing against them exactly what it will take to make them reach the next level.
The Plague
Going forward, The Plague will always start with one corrupted fountain. The goals behind this change are very simple:
- This ensures that The Plague is able to use her Corrupt Purge in any match, even if the Survivors opt to not cleanse.
- Survivors are still able to decide not to cleanse and simply endure her Corrupt Purge, although they will be taking a huge risk in doing so since they will be injured.
And finally, this adds another layer of strategy to playing The Plague. You can decide if you want to use your guaranteed fountain right away to help get an early down, or save it for later in the match when a few Survivors are already broken from your Vile Purge.
The Trapper
As mentioned above, The Trapper’s traps will no longer give the Survivors an option to sabotage them. Additionally, his traps can now be reset without picking them up first. This option is available whether you’re currently holding another trap or not.
This concludes the February edition of our Developer Update. As always, all of these changes will be available for testing on the PTB before they go live. We look forward to hearing what you think about everything we’ve detailed today!
The Dead by Daylight team
Nope. Breakdown still breaks the hook for three minutes.
-
I'd love a Doctor avatar and a Doctor dynamic theme. The dynamic theme could have the default PS4 music replaced by Doc's menu theme and laughing.
-
Already long queue times? Killers nerfed once? Lol what timeline are you living in? Killers have received a couple of nerfs recently and queue times are instant, even at red and purple ranks.
-
Remove Cypress Moris from the bloodweb and make them basekit. You're a goner 9 times out of 10 at that point in the game.
-
You do realize they're Ultra Rare for a reason, right? Tombstone Piece is the only exception, but it's still Very Rare. Your changes would make a good portion of these add-ons nowhere near worthy of their rarity and not really worth running.
Your Coxcombed Clapper would work better with a new add-on.
You lose EW3 the moment you kill someone with Tombstone Piece.
Mother-Daughter Ring disables your ability to see scratch marks while phasing. It requires the Spirit to be good at tracking only using the environment.
Black Incense only works if the Survivor is broken and Plague can't pressure everyone at once. She can only go after 1 or 2 at a time.
-
https://youtu.be/BwSts2s4ba4
You must the one that's rank 15 or you only play Billy and Oni. Most of the pallets on that map are unsafe as hell.
-
Something's not adding up here. The Mend timer is supposed to pause while running, but you're saying that it was almost empty by the time you ran to a safe place. Do you happen to remember the tier that the Borrowed Time was at? At tier 2/3 your Mend timer lasts 15/20 seconds, which is longer than the time it takes to Snap Out of It (12 seconds). Only at tier 1 is when the Mend timer is shorter than Snap Out of It. Even then, your Mend timer still shouldn't have gone down if you were running the entire time. You should've have enough time to Snap Out of It and Mend yourself. You must've walked/crouch walked without realizing it or you encountered a bug.
-
I just looked through the challenges again and...
What the ######### are these? These are way too luck based. You have no way of forcing a Survivor to jump in a locker and no way to know if they are. Not every Survivor jumps in one to use DS so you can't rely on that. The EGC challenge requires to you to get lucky twice (unless you're Doctor or have Deerstalker, then you only have to get lucky once) with finding the Hatch and then finding the downed Survivor. Even throwing the game isn't always guaranteed because of bodyblocking. Also, it really ######### sucks to have to throw an entire game just for a challenge (it isn't even a master challenge).
-
There’s even a couple of grab challenges even though they’re broken as ######### currently. Hell, one of them is get two gen grabs while using Discordance in a SINGLE ######### TRIAL! These challenges are just continuing to prove that the devs responsible for the Archives either don’t know what a good challenge is or are just coming up with things that sound cool and throwing them in the game.
-
If I had to guess, it probably had to do something with this:
https://youtu.be/PbsUsglHGbEYou're entering HIS world.
I think a much more likely reason is that his abilities by themselves wouldn't be that strong. If you remove the snares/pallets, he's just a 115% M1 Killer in chases. There isn't always a gen nearby for you to teleport ahead to. If you remove the teleport, then he's basically Clown with eight smaller bottles or Doctor with the Order add-on and nothing else (not even Madness).
-
I have an explanation:
He's a salty tunneler. He'll tunnel you no matter what and was just trying to be an ass.
Also, how are you struggling to get above 6k points per game? Is he good at countering loops or are you just having bad luck? Does getting chased for a long time just not give as many BPs as I thought?
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
It would be nice, you'll get more points for the chase, hitting your DS, dropping pallets.
Killer will cry foul though, they'll start complaining "more second chance perks for survivors."
It's a great idea though.
What's to stop the Killer from just standing by the hook and then slugging the body for 60 seconds to avoid DS? I love the idea of getting more BP, but I just don't see very many Killers leaving the last Survivor when they know about a possible hook escape.
@Snowstruck said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1200620#Comment_1200620
I know, I played back then. I understand that some people spite, but a lot of people actually do it for bps, believe it or not. So maybe they could make it where they get their attempts to escape, but if they fail it automatically completes the sacrifice process.
An idea I have seen for a while now is to just give the Survivor all of their struggle points immediately. Giving the Survivor attempts to escape and then automatically sacrificing them if they fail sounds good, but I just don't see that majority of Killers leaving the hook when they know the Survivor could still escape. They can wait out your DH/SB/Adrenaline and then slug you to avoid DS. If you have Unbreakable, then they'll just hit you when you get up. If the Hatch is nearby, they'll just close it. The only situation I could see this working in is you being right beside an open gate and then you just make a beeline for the gate, which isn't a common situation.
-
I don't think the devs know what exactly to do to them. It's kinda like what happened with Wraith in both Legacy Evolve and Evolve Stage 2. She was either overpowered or underpowered throughout the game's life. I don't remember if she ever was considered balanced at any point.
-
No because at that point you're most likely screwed. The Killer can just wait for your DH and slug you for 60 seconds to avoid DS. If the Hatch is nearby, they'll just close it.
A couple years ago, the last Survivor did not die immediately on the hook, however too many Survivors would stay on the hook for the full duration just to spite the Killer and force them to waste 60-120 seconds just running around doing nothing.
-
I think it's the same as PC/consoles. Buy them for 9,000 Iridescent Shards or 500 Auric Cells in the store.
-
So instead of adapting and becoming better at the game, you just want to whine for nerfs? Is that what's happening here? Because it really looks like it.
-
It's because he doesn't have anything else. Without his power active, he's a 115% M1 Killer. It also takes him a long time to get it.
-
I'm looking forward to it. I feel bad going to a god loop as Survivor and I hate being able to do so little as Killer.
