The devs been making decisions like this for years. The pandemic didn't affect that. Also, there are developers who have done more than BHVR during the pandemic without many problems.
-
Resident Evil and The Last of Us.
-
Survivors who want every Killer to play the same way and refuse to adapt to new playstyles.
Of course there are people who genuinely dislike him, but they’re not as common or not as loud as the ones who don’t want to adapt.
-
This sounds like a pretty good idea. Your leg just got crushed by a trap meant for bears.

Post says "for now" but I think we all know that that usually means on a game that doesn't even break 200 players on PC (also still no anti cheat and Lickers still DC people) and is currently in a really bad state of balance which doesn't even cater to anybody. Casuals and solo-Q are having a bad time because masterminds stomp them with ease, and hardcore players are having a bad time because swat squads stomp MM with ease.
It says content updates, not updates in general. They’re still going to make balance changes and fix bugs, but no more new content is planned.
-
It’s a hex and it forces the Killer to drop whatever they’re doing to defend the totem. Undying is fine.
-
One reason why they haven’t changed it is likely because of Sony and Microsoft being REALLY strict about changing trophies/achievements. It has to at least be almost impossible for Sony/Microsoft to allow the change (I’m shocked the Skilled Huntress change got through on Xbox, maybe there are some DBD players on whatever team handles achievement changes). Merciless/Ruthless/Brutal Killer should just be used for the number of dead Survivors and the rank message should be something different like “Devout Disciple”. That way BHVR can change the Killer Adepts without having to deal with Sony and Microsoft.
-
Have you also heard the reason why they’re actually nerfing Pop? The timer is too lenient. Guess what perk a lot of people say is too lenient? DS. The devs really showed their bias with this one.
-
The game is actually poorly optimized on all platforms and the devs are just hoping that it’ll fix itself (even after years of this being a problem). You don’t hear PC players complaining about it very much because their setups are so powerful they’re able to brute force through problems. The only consoles that this game will actually perform well on are probably the PS5 and XSX because they crush pretty much every console before them.
-
I hate seeing Coldwind, Haddonfield, Crotus Prenn, The Game, Ormond, Red Forest, Midwich, some Autohaven (pretty much all of them minus Wrecker's Yard), and some MacMillan maps (Suffocation Pit, Groaning Storehouse, and the PTB version of Coal Tower). I love seeing Hawkins because of the Killers I like to play. Everything else I'm just ok with.
-
There should be a option for reworking the Hatch.

Have literally just ran up to a doctor and have him kill me to get out of that hell. So damn boring and unfun.
Why are you telling me this in particular?

I see you don't play or go up against much Doctor. No add-ons? I win some, I lose some. Any random pair of add-ons? I win some, I win some more. Regardless of my skill level, that's an insane and stupid increase. Seriously.
Almost every single add-on significantly buffs 1 or more aspect about him and makes Madness even more oppressive. Maybe that's fine for a full squad, but not anyone else.
You have to be playing in lower ranks or against Survivors that got boosted to high ranks. Doctor isn't a guaranteed win against good Survivors, even with the strongest add-on combos. Not all of his add-ons significantly buff him. You just need to get better.
-
Yeah I hate them as well, especially when you have to break them (like the main buildings in Dead Dawg, Groaning Storehouse, and Coal Tower) otherwise you’ll have a god loop available to Survivors.
-
I think the devs wanted that “monster” vibe with it. Unfortunately, this is the wrong game for that. Information plays a huge role in DBD, and Demo telling the Survivors everything it’s doing is really hurting it.
-
I don't understand all the outrage over the gen clarifications. This has been in the game for a while, the devs are just explaining it to everyone.
-
RIP Thana.
Mindbreaker is still crap.
Why the hell did Huntress Lullaby get nerfed?! Nobody complained about it.
At least WGLF now has a gameplay effect.
This patch is a joke so far lol.
-
I don’t think the devs took this into account when changing the hook placements. One of the Oak offerings should be made baseline.
And to anyone that says to just learn the hook placements, you can’t learn them if not enough hooks spawned in an area! What am I supposed to do if I have two downed Survivors but only one hook spawned nearby? Slugging them to death is going to be boring for both sides and bringing a perk or offering to fix RNG is incredibly stupid and shouldn’t be a thing (sometimes even Iron Grasp and Agitation might not be enough).
-
I find them fun because you can’t treat him like other Killers. Also, he’s the Killer I’ve played the most so I have a better idea of what to expect from a Doctor.
If it’s a Doc that’s trying to force a 3 gen and has a build specifically for that situation, then that gets boring. That sucks with all Killers, but it’s worse on Doc.
-
BBQ and WGLF give stacks upon someone DCing. It’s just extra BP.

Sure. Optimizing the game.
Speaking of which, they did a nice job with this past hotfix. All the lag issues are gone and the game feels smoother than ever. Frames are still sketchy here and there, and the memory leak is still around. But all in all, good patch.
It’s not super common, but there are Survivors that actually rely on the poor optimization. They’ll notice that their 360s and other maneuvers aren’t as effective anymore and that they’re getting hit in general more often because Killers aren’t dropping as many frames and start whining.

What are you talking about? Undying and ruin rewards not defending your totems and being extremely oppressive. It is unbalanced for solo queue because its hard enough getting them to gens. You practically have to run the killer to the corner of the map or hold their hands if you want them to get done. If they do get found, they will run the killer for 15 seconds and somehow consume two pallets in that timeframe. Eventually, the killer will push you off your gen, and that concludes the match.
So balance this game for rank 20s? Is that what you’re saying?
Also totems are random and you have no idea which totem has which perk.
-
A lot of Survivors just want to hold M1 all game. They say it's boring but whine when something like Ruin + Undying is introduced that creates another objective, they start whining. Also Killers shouldn't have perks that reward them for playing well for some reason.
-
Tru3, Otz, Farmer John, Tofu, and Monto.
-
Trapper, Hag, and Ghostface.
-
As a skin it doesn’t look bad, but when you compare it to the character, then you start seeing the problems. At this point I’m not surprised that another Legendary cosmetic isn’t worth it and could very easily be passed off as a normal cosmetic. It’s the same thing with Minotaur Oni and Lisa Garland. They’re all just normal skins at an even crazier price point than normal.
-
The devs forgot that keys existed.
-
Both this and the kill 10 Obsessions challenge are terrible ideas and are much, much harder than they sound. This challenge used to be harder because of a bug preventing you from getting hooks (it’s fixed now).
@IshinSolarc said:
Use Mori, easiest way to get that challenge done, hook everyone 1 time and kill them on the floor, you still get iridescent in devotion.
That won’t work. For Iridescent Devout you need at least nine hooks and a 4K. With this method you’ll only get four hooks. If you want to get Iridescent Devout with a Mori, then you have to two hook everyone and sacrifice at least one Survivor for the ninth hook. However that situation means that you didn’t need your Mori and just wasted it.
-
This is my biggest problem with Hawkins. I love the map as Killer (when it isn't tearing my frames to shreds of course), but it really sucks to not be able to use perks like Pop and Tinkerer because the only entrance is on the other side and all others are closed off.
-
I think all perks going on cooldown is too much. I'd change this to disable all dying state perks and give Exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds. This removes all the second chance perk + UB combos that end up being overpowered. This will kill the dreaded DS+Unbreakable combo while not affecting perks that don't synergize with it (you shouldn't lose access to perks like Botany or Up The Ante because you used Unbreakable).
However all this could end up being completely unnecessary or even overkill when the inevitable DS nerfs are announced (thanks to the reasoning behind the PGTW nerf and the dev comment). The combo could be dead already and we don't even know about it.
-
Infinite tier 3 Myers with an Ebony Mori. Survivors are always Exposed and the Ebony is there in case you don't get to five stacks. You only need to have Devour Hope equipped. It's ok if you don't get to use it.
-
15 seconds can make or break some Killers and the reason behind the nerf.
-
Deathslinger will either get reworked or nerfed and then reworked months later.
Spirit (since she often gets lumped in with Slinger and PH) will likely be nerfed or reworked.
-
Even with Nemesis, the Survivors will try to deny your challenge. Once that first Obsession switch happened, almost every Survivor team I came across did everything in their power to prevent me from getting pallet stunned, even if it meant their death. I had Survivors start tbagging instead of dropping pallets and only use windows even though I was right on top of them. They'd see the pallet and turn away from it to get to a window, even though they'd get hit. I had to bring an Ebony Mori to finish this, and that was after eight games of only getting one Obsession kill at most. This challenge was a terrible idea and should never return.
-
We don’t have any numbers yet, so he might not be dead. If he is dead though, then it’s almost guaranteed that Deathslinger and Spirit are next. They often get lumped together with PH when it comes to Killers that “need” a nerf.
-
Yeah, it can be really confusing and cause me to miss hits just because I have no clue what’s going on. I’ve also seen players teleport through pallets after dropping or breaking them.
-
@Almo said:
Pop's duration is being reduced because we found you could spend too much time doing other things and still have it available.
That’s the same problem people have DS. Nobody brought it up when talking about Pop, yet it gets nerfed while DS stays unchanged? That sounds pretty biased toward Survivors, don’t you think?
-
@Kira15233 said:
Just hook everyone, have an ebony and Nemesis, it's 4k of obsession easy
You say that now. Wait until you get Survivors that absolutely refuse to drop pallets on you.
-
I don't think it's that, it's just that Survivors are their cash cows.
-
I'm waiting for the numbers on PH and Thana.
Blood Pact is a bad idea. It's going to be another perk that's abused to hell and back in SWF.
I agree with Cruel Limits and Mindbreaker. The durations are not the problem.
PGTW nerf wasn't necessary. It rewarded the Killer for doing well and was one of the few meta perks for Killer. This is a clear example of catering to bad Survivors. That 15 seconds can be huge for the Killer.
The other perk changes are fine (I really like Trail of Torment, sounds like it's going to synergize really well with Dragon's Grip).
The MacMillan update is cool.
-
I'm really glad that the school can be a death trap, but I wish they didn't block off hooks. If the basement doesn't spawn in the school you pretty much have to break at least one wall to get to the hooks around the school.
-
Because it’s a strong combo for Killers that forces you to play a little different.
Also, Survivors know if they complain loud enough, the devs will likely cave in to their demands (it just worked with Pop).
-
Aside from a couple changes, this patch sounds terrible.
Withholding judgement on PH until we have numbers.
-

Nice.
Welp its better than my solution: impliment "KWF".
Allow 4 players to queue as 1 killer - THEY ALL GET TO CONTROL HIM. The power of 4 minds, harnessed by 1 body. What could possibly go wrong?
That would be hilarious to play as and against. It’d be Pacific Rim but with four people instead of two or three.
-
Just run Detective’s Hunch (Tapp unique perk) or Small Game (general Survivor perk) and watch your back. Simple as that. Sorry that you can’t run all second chance perks and have to do something other than stare at a gen (how the hell do you guys even find that fun?).
EDIT: Devour loses all stacks when it’s transferred to a different totem, so it’s not the best idea to run it with Undying.
-
Gens aren't cars. I don't mind new gen sounds but the car didn't sound good at all.
-
I don't understand why it's taking the devs so long to change it (or at least confirm that they're going to change it). It was a big reason why so many people used Compound 21.
-
Isn't the perk supposed to speed up locker interactions? Why not have it speed up pulling Survivors out of the locker? This is just random change that nobody asked for #59325849.
-
I don't think it'll be OP because other Killers like Billy and LF can break pallets with their powers (that are also instadown) and they aren't OP. Billy even has good mobility like Blight does. It's still not the change we need (POV fix, it's terrible right now and I hate playing him with it). But no, let's nerf Compound 21 because tracking is everything in this game!

Earlier today I was working on the one where you have to leave after other survivors. Killer quit, i got 3 stacks for it. THAT was luck. Killing multiple obessions in a game to finish it faster isnt.
You need luck to kill multiple Obsessions. Survivors can and will avoid stunning you to mess with your challenge even if it means their death. I had bad luck because all but one Survivor team I went up against played that like that. You had good luck because your Survivors weren’t like that.
-
Yeah, this last patch messed up a LOT of things. Rubber banding is just one of the problems it created. It feels like the game is ripping me and the other player apart. It’s given way too many extra chances.

Not sure what you mean. I ran nemesis, had it done in a coupke of games
You got lucky with your Survivors then. It would have taken you longer if you gotten Survivors that know you want your challenge and try to deny you of any progress at all costs.
@sulaiman said:
You think that challenge is toxic? Wait for the devour hope one...
That one’s not that bad because you just need to run the perk. You can run infinite tier 3 Myers with Ebony Mori to help complete it without relying on totem RNG and as backups in case you mess up during your first tier 3 or a Survivor DCs during a Mori.
