His low FOV is intentional. It's the downside he has to overcome in exchange for having the best mobility in the game.

Every killer has a weakness. Some move slower, some have long cooldowns. Blight's weakness is that his camera is at ant level.

Embrace it. Who cares how tall you are when you can boink-boink-smack?

Haha you’re kidding right? Blight has a cooldown and a lower turn rate.

This low POV is the devs making a dumb decision. He is taller than the Survivors and cannot see over loops.

Autohaven: The maps that people somehow think are balanced even though more often than not easily chainable tiles spawn in series.

    Yeah. Seems balanced.

Seriously, I almost never see game-winning deadzones in Autohaven maps. Sure, there might be a side with nothing on it... And only 1 or 2 easy to do generators, while everything else is is safe as old Ironworks.

I remember people freaking out how the Autohaven maps were going to be full of deadzones... and then said deadzones appeared like 1% of the time.

  • I’m not sure why we don’t have anything to help with lunges or 360s. I’d have expected at least one perk that helps out with one of those. Consoles really need it. I actually don’t try to counter 360s that often because of the reasons you stated. Since the devs still can’t fix them for whatever reason, we either need a perk to help us out or to nerf 360s (Survivors would blow a gasket if this happened though, every communication outlet with the devs would be blown up with salty Survivors).

  • We need to know if the next gen versions will actually be next gen. You know, at least 60 FPS, 4K, etc.

Personally I would like to know if DBD will support trophy tracking. I know it supports achievement tracking already, but the PS5 has been confirmed to have trophy tracking if the developers support it (it wasn't officially announced, the UI reveal video showed it).

Proof that trophy tracking is on PS5:

Did... Did you just say Haddonfield was weak for survivors? Did you just say it has bad loops? Did you just say the House Of Pain was balanced??

Honey I'll agree this map needs changed but no thanks let's not BUFF this bullshit map.

    Wait what?

    *rereads OP*

Holy crap... why the hell would someone want to BUFF Haddonfield?!

  • Survivor: I don't know. Maybe Adam's Canadian Tuxedo outfit (pretty much turns him into Killmonger from Black Panther) or Laurie's Wolf in Sheep's Clothing outfit? None of the Survivor outfits have really popped out to me like the Killer outfits have.

Killer: Hallowed Blight Doctor is the best cosmetic in the game hands down. The devs outdid themselves with this one.

  • It's needed one for years. I don't understand why it hasn't got one. I was shocked when it wasn't in the list of updated maps in 3.7.0.

  • I hate those loops so much. They're just run in a circle until the Survivor drops the pallet. No mindgame whatsoever. The only Killers that can play differently here are Nurse and Spirit (no surprise there).

I agree about the tile spacing. A patch was supposed to fix it (3.7.0), but we still get these BS spawns like jungle gym-shack-jungle gym-T/L or multiple T/L walls together.

There's still some infinite windows around. Grim Pantry, Ormond, Disturbed Ward, Father Campbells Chapel, Haddonfield, and Rancid Abattoir all have god windows still. There's probably a few more but those are off the top of my head.

Dead Dawg also has a borderline infinite loop with balanced landing. Anytime someone offers dead dawg and I see them sitting at that loop I just facecamp the entire lobby because I instantly know why I have been sent there.

Don't forget the funbus on Autohaven. Maybe add Suffocation Pit because I don't really see what changed. It looks the same as it was before 3.7.0 released.

  • Can't Spirit just phase and slice Oni's throat? He's not fast enough to dodge her while phasing. Size and strength don't mean much when your opponent is faster and basically invisible to you.

Unless they can't use their powers? Then Oni would crush Spirit.

  • This sounds really cool, but her idle animation already resets when she begins phasing. Not sure if your idea would be too much.

  • Time your shocks right. Be prepared for them to still get the pallet/vault anyways because latency does affect his shock therapy, so you might need to run to the other side instead of expecting the stun to work perfectly. Even if you time it right, latency can deny you your hit. Also don't shock too much. If you can't stun them, then play like a normal M1 Killer. Using the shock slows you down a lot and can extend the loop for the Survivor.

Use your Static Blast near areas where multiple Survivors might be (like gens, healing each other, trying to all hide for some reason).

If you're fine with slugging with the 4k, Doc has an easier time doing so because of Survivor screaming and the illusions in tier 2/3 (if you're using a Restraint add-on).

I'd recommend always bringing an electrode because it gives you increased shock range with no penalty. I think the best add-on combo is Iridescent King or Discipline - "Carter's Notes" + High Stimulus Electrode. Iri King lets you put all the afflictions on a Survivor at once. Discipline shortens the shock delay, so it hits the Survivor sooner.

Its not greed. Lots of companies give bonuses to attract new clients. If it was greed they would have the theme for purchases..because -of course-no one is gonna buy the game again for a theme...maybe some rare dude....

its just to attract new business.

Attracting new customers but upsetting old and loyal ones is a very bad idea. You don't want to lose your dedicated playerbase that has stuck with you through some really bad times.

  • Greed. BHVR knows that the community will gobble up pretty much anything they throw at them and they know that themes are a highly requested feature. I saw this coming all the way back in June 2018 with the launch of the cosmetic shop. Then the Rift came out with its tedious grind and only had a paywall as an alternative. Now we have highly requested features being locked behind entire special editions of the game. By 2023, I'm expecting BHVR to have done something that makes them worse than companies like Activision. The fact that the Stranger Things theme is exclusive to a bundle tells me that the Silent Hill one sold well, and that scares me.

Also, did you look at the description of the Stranger Things Edition? The theme is described as a PS5 (not PS4) theme. While this could be a typo, it could also mean that certain PS4 themes are getting PS5 versions (I actually made a thread about this and the theme being exclusive the day the Stranger Things edition released).

  • @xCarrie said:

    inhale...

Make the PS4 themes separate because most people who want them don’t wanna buy the whole game again.

Also we've been asking about themes for years. I'm afraid they're going to do the same thing with PS4 avatars.

  • Lightburn is such an outdated mechanic and I'm not sure why it's still here.

    Ungrateful?

The event they gave us 2 years ago was a lot of fun. Dumb yes but fun all the same. They even gave us 2 sets of cosmetics rather than the intended 1 to appease fans who felt a little disappointed by the prizes.

Fast forward 2 years and now we get....a rift. Yay another rift. With its repetitive and grindy challenges.

Its easy to slap out a rift than to create a good event and more importantly it makes more money. There’s no money in having good events.

Pay for some boring grindy missions and pay to unlock new costumes.

The direction this game has been going is not good. Its like they’re so scared of the company being a 1 hit wonder they’re milking DBD for all they can get.

I called this all the way back when 2.0.0 and the cosmetic store launched.

$10 for a cosmetic is absolutely insane, but I accepted it at first because it probably wasn’t cheap to make all those cosmetics and release them in a big patch like 2.0.0. But as time went on, the devs realized that people would eat up anything they threw at them, so they continued with the overpriced cosmetics and then introduced the Rift and Archives with their repetitive and grindy (and sometimes just straight BS) challenges. The lore is cool and it’s nice to have another way to earn BP, but they had to lock cosmetics and charms behind them and your only other option is to spend money. Now I only buy cosmetics if they’re actually worth it instead of just buying whatever. I wouldn’t be surprised if BHVR becomes the next Activision in 2021 or 2022. It’s sad, but not very surprising.

  • The inverted controls sounds really cool and can really screw with the Survivors. Will they be notified of it? It would be funny to see Survivors start freaking out as they run right into you.

  • Hits are being worked on. That’s all we have about them.

Wiggling is supposed to force the Killer to take you to a non-basement hook, not help you escape.

Pretty much everyone has a problem with the struggle mechanic. The devs insist that it’s fine though. It gets even worse for console players due to lack of buttons. We don’t have a mouse wheel to remap the button to.

Daily challenges are supposed to encourage you to play characters that you don’t normally play. Maybe you haven’t been playing enough Killer recently (according to the game)?

  • I thought this was removed but it’s been in the game for months. I’ve been ready to call for nerfs. With looking at a wall no longer a reliable counter, flashlights are now pretty much uncounterable unless the Survivor player makes a mistake.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

when we get ps4 theme and avatars?

I’m surprised we haven’t got avatars yet. If we do, I wouldn’t be surprised if they locked them behind another expensive special edition like they’re doing with the themes. Not many people have talked about it, but there is a PS4 Silent Hill theme that is exclusive to a $50 Silent Hill edition.

  • @TheRockstarKnight said:

I can't find much on this; it might just be mistakenly referring to this PS4 theme.

    https://images.pushsquare.com/fe87036173e35/ps5-theme.original.jpg

Since we don't know anything about the UI of the PS5 yet, or if they'll have themes of any kind, this would be a significant leak if it's true. Which is why we probably won't get any kind of Sony confirmation one way or another; especially with the PS5 coming right around the corner.

This could also hint at certain PS4 themes having PS5 compatible versions in development.

That theme looks pretty cool. Shame it’s locked behind a $30 special edition and I already have all the chapters.

  • This is not a bug and you still have time to Mend after getting out of tier 3.

  • Hag is very scary with her jumpscares, but playing against her can be pretty boring (not OP, there's a difference). I wouldn't mind if she got buffed but was more fun to play against.

If you like playing Hag then keep playing her. It's YOUR game, not mine.

  • I think the chances of a new Survivor next week are very low because he/she would have been leaked by now.

  • It's bugged. Sometimes you'll be standing there for a few seconds because the button is so unresponsive.

  • I think people don't like the roar, bad add-ons, and overheat limiting what you can do with the saw. Him being in the Tome is probably because of his rework being so recent and to increase his playrate.

  • Because of how long ago Tome I was, I doubt the devs will change it. You're not only one complaining about this challenge, a lot of people didn't like it. For some reason the devs like to add a couple of BS challenges each Tome (I think Tome II was the only one without them).

  • Honestly I cringe when I see people act like that. I think it’s weird to feel and act that way towards the supernaturally powered monster that’s trying to sacrifice you to a spider god.

  • He controls the loop, denies perks like DS and BT, and can hit you through walls.

Survivors hate any of those three things and will lose it if a Killer can do them.

  • Most console players are not that bad. Maybe you’re just having bad luck.

A killer with built in tracking, denies pallets/windows, decent map pressure, 4.6m/s, slowdown via madness 3 and f*ck all cooldown for shock therapy. i dont understand how you could loose tbh.

Not timing shock therapy correctly. If you don’t, then you might have just extended the loop for the Survivor. It’s the only thing he has in a chase. If he’s getting all these downs and kills without using his shock therapy, then the player is good with Killer in general (meaning you’d have gone down even if it wasn’t Doctor) or you keep making mistakes and allowing him to hit you (in that case you need to play better).

Also his tracking doesn’t do that much if you can loop. He can keep finding you, but he needs to be able to down you. Same with his add-ons. He can add as many afflictions as he wants, but they’re useless if he can’t down you.

  • Glad to know I’m not the only one experiencing this. It’s a really annoying bug that has cost me a match already.

  • Demogorgon needs to lose 99% of the mapwide cues. Only the teleportation one needs to stay. I like your idea for it.

The footstep sounds need to be the same as all of the other Killers. 16 meters is too loud, especially on a Killer that uses the Undetectable effect. The lowered head animation sounds awesome.

I love the idea of more Shred add-ons. I've always thought that Demo's add-ons need a change because they lean too much towards its portals and the numbers are painfully low (especially for the rare and above add-ons). It feels like Demo has a bunch of Common and Uncommon add-ons with only one slot available because of how important Rat Liver is. A charges mechanic for Shred could help a lot with map pressure.

Teleporting from anywhere sounds like a cool idea.

  • Yes, Survivors are too reliant on their Exhaustion perks and start crying when they can't fall back on them whenever they make a mistake. Doctor's already lost his (pretty much the only negative thing about his rework). He needs his back and we don't need the other Killers to suffer the same fate. If Survivors can't play without their precious speed boost, then too bad.

  • I honestly think consoles were intended as a cash grab and that the devs had no clue how to actually work with them (on top of DBD being a buggy mess in general), so all of these problems are taking years to fix. It’s a real shame that I have to hope that the game decides to hold it together while I’m playing.

    @TheEdMaverick said:

I mean, they're not supporting this current gen, how will they support next gen?

    Sad

That’s probably where all the resources went. When BHVR heard how powerful next-gen was compared to this gen, they threw all console resources to it and hoped that the current gen would just fix itself (even though base current gen consoles can support games that much more demanding). I wouldn’t be surprised if they still can’t support consoles and are relying on their power to just brute force through the problems.

  • I’m thinking it’s because he isn’t afraid to call BS when he sees it, people just being really salty after he beat them (he used to have to deal with a LOT of stream snipers in the past, more than usual for a steamer), and he gets a lot of viewers.

It makes the hackers look even worse, not only are they acting like children because they can’t DC for free, but they’re trying to get back at a streamer who beat them or said something they disagree with. It’s really sad.

  • I think a TLOU chapter should have two Survivors (Joel and Ellie) and a Killer. I’d like to see the Rat King as a Killer because I thought it was really cool and it would be a shame if all we got from it was just the hospital battle. Just shrink it so it’ll be able to go through openings in DBD.

You can’t kill the Killer. As much as I like Abby, she shouldn’t have messed with Joel like that (I understand why she did though).

However, I don’t think she’ll come to the game because of how other players might act. Imagine someone who isn’t familiar with TLOU just wanting to play Abby because she looks cool only to get mercilessly tunneled or bodyblocked by teammates. She’d easily have the lowest play rate in the game and her Adept would probably be the hardest.

Eh the Devs aren't above admitting mistakes or anything that turned out badly. I think it's more an issue of priority, and well, when it happens it happens due to a DC. Something that shouldn't even be happening in a regular game.

That being said, it then begs the question well why doesn't suiciding on hook grant devout points? Even if the DC penalty was enabled and no one dc'ed the survivors would still have ways of depriving one of emblem points.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1677112#Comment_1677112

I will admit that one took me a while. Not because it's difficult to get 4k's, but because I was either killing them to quickly, there was a DC, or they absolutely wiped the floor with me.

Priority is probably the most likely reason for the silence regarding the Devout Emblem. But why they’d even implement the requirement in this first place? They said it’s because Killers were getting too many Iri Devouts and they wanted rank to be a more accurate reflection of skill, but this isn’t the way to go about it. Praying that you don’t get crybabies isn’t skill.

  • Since you said you quoted the wrong post, I assumed you were replying to my earlier post (the one at 10 AM EST). In that post, I was replying to someone telling me to stay in one place for 60 seconds. So when you said that those strategies work for you, I immediately assumed that you were talking about the standing in place strategy.

Unless you weren’t even replying to me and I’ve got this all wrong?

Tunneling is when you chase a survivor, hook them, then make sure you drop whatever you are doing and continue to chase that that person. Or when you walk a little away, then as soon as somebody pulls the survivor off, you rush in and chase down the hooked survivor.

And you say it wastes so much time bit these are the strategies I use all the time. I never have an actual issue against DS. I have a problem with looping wasting time. But DS has never been an issue for me. I still get 3k/4k. The worst I got was a 1k because it was flashlight users and a person who looped me me for 3mins till I abandoned him towards the end. Then I hooked a person , the guy who looped me rushed in as the last gen was finished, I pulled him off, flashlight came and tried to flashlight, I dodged, he pulled the guy off the hook, I hooked my guy, went to chase the guy who got unhooked as a door opened. So I stayed there. Everybody ditched the guy cause I stuck by him for the bloodpoints. But DS had no play in it. Thats my matches as a killer. I get DS'ed beginning of the match cause I force it every time and I get my 3k/4k. So why is it that you can't?

I don’t believe you. Standing in one place like that for 60 seconds and the Survivors haven’t torn through the gens? Either you’re at a low rank or your Survivors SUCK.

  • I’m beginning to wonder if Fog Whisperers are just there to advertise the game.

There are many ways to outsmart them, as in leaving them slugged for 60 seconds. Use deer stalker if you have to so you can watch them. Pair it with insidious and stand off to the side and wait for another survivor to come and chase them. Then after 60 seconds hook them. That is if you dont wanna take it.

But do you wanna know the smart play? Take the stun. They can only use it once. You dont wanna take it? Well I don't wanna deal with tunneling or camping killers. But you know what? I gotta take it. Just take the stun as early as possible and then you know they don't have it anymore.

And before you get any crazy ideas about me using it, I suck at the skill check so I never use it. Waste of a perk. I did use it once upon a time but out of 2 months was only able to activate it 5 times. Your arguments are invalid as its not as bad as you make it out to be. Even as a killer I run into it maybe 3/5 matches but still get 4k.... Because I pressure them to use it at the start. Just learn to deal with it just like I'm told to deal with camping and tunneling as a survivor

Do you realize how much time you waste doing that? It’s such a bad strategy. There is no way to truly counter DS without getting screwed over in some way if the Survivors use a locker. I’ve known how to counter DS otherwise. Unless, you’re one of those Survivors who thinks that tunneling is chasing the same Survivor again, no matter what they do.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^[

This guy, bruh. Do your job ads a killer and outsmart your opponent. Or just eat the perk

Outsmart my opponent abusing an overpowered mechanic? Ok then, please give me a good explanation as to how I can do that.

No, leaving the Survivor or taking the stun are not (and never should be) valid reasons. I am not tunneling and should not be hit with the stun. The Survivor is making a bad play and should never be rewarded, especially in the way they are today. I know this might sound painful, but you don’t have to use DS every game. You won’t die from not seeing the stun.

  • Pop Goes The Weasel

Kicking a gen reduces its progress to zero, blocks it for five minutes, and slows repair speed on that gen by 100%.

  • It’s because of that stupid hook actions requirement added in 2.6.0. If you don’t get nine hooks, then you can’t get Iridescent. Before that all you needed to do is get four kills (unless they bled out). Now Survivors can easily deny you your Emblem if they’re salty little babies. This requirement needs to go. I don’t know why it’s still here. Do the devs just not care about Emblems? Do they like this idea so much that they refuse to admit it’s not good? I haven’t seen a dev respond to criticisms of the Devout Emblem since they added the hook actions requirements.

  • Holy crap those numbers. I didn’t think they were so little. I knew they were low but damn! An extra 0.64 seconds is not worth the loss of the heal slowdown.

  • Doctor. This isn’t even a contest.

  • It's boring. I've started to hate maps like MacMillan, Autohaven, Coldwind just because of how the loops are. There's rarely a mindgame and it's just run in a circle and hope the Survivor makes a mistake (or just doesn't have eyes).

1 … 19 20 21 22 23 … 82
