Cross play has definitely put them in a bind. They now have to commit that all content and updates are the same across the board. That either means limiting what they do for the official next gen release of DBD (whenever that hits, probably 2021), or releasing content that struggles to run on current gen.
I remember reading that the next-gen update for DBD releases with the new consoles (So Nov 10th if you're on Xbox and Nov 12th if you're on PS5).

It should be capped at 8k maximum per game.
He could've used BP boosters.

I'm worried the game won't be optimized on next-gen consoles and then we'll have to deal with multiple separate and small playerbases (PS4, XB1, PS5, and XSX/S).
If the current gen playerbase shrinks when next gen comes out, I hope it's not immediately after they launch because Target's earliest ETA is the day after launch, November 13th (which is probably because Veterans Day is the day before the PS5 launches) and I'd like to see how DBD performs on it for myself.
Also I don't want to deal with 20+ minute queues for either side at any rank.

From the description, it sounds like it's just a buff to his power, no strings attached. Blight's got a line to himself because he's a special case.

Well right now the Killer add on is the only one with the disclaimer that its only usable in the event.
Haven't used it myself yet. Seems like a straight downgrade on Blight himself. Might be fun on a stealth killer.
It can't be a downgrade because it just gives him an extra Rush token (from 5 to 6). He doesn't have choose between the rush and his power like all the other Killers.
-
I think you have watch a streamer who has them and they're either going to throw them out all at once or randomly give them away. You just have to hope you can type quick enough.
-
I think it can also work on Blight because it just gives him an extra rush without having to deal with any downsides from other add-ons.

Mr. Envy should be selected to have his Nurse chase theme officially established in DBD
Oh man that sounds creepy AF. I'd love to hear that in the game.
-
This really sucks for me because four of the Killers I like to play (Doc, Freddy, Demo, and PH) are either graphic-heavy or have caused FPS problems in the past. Whatever everyone else is experiencing, you'd probably have to double it for me.
-
This perfectly sums up the shitshow of an event we have right now and the greediness of BHVR.
-
I wouldn’t come back yet. The new event is a piece of crap that forces you to either grind your ass off or spend money. If you’re on console, the last update has killed the frames.
-
Huh? How is making the older Halloween skins free greedy? They were never meant to some exclusive thing like Legacy or the Bloodletting shirt.

“Killers shouldn’t control the chase”
*laughs hysterically in Clown*
He’ll be after Deathslinger, Spirit, Freddy, and Doc, especially if the devs buff him like they did Doc and Freddy. Clown’s time will come, don’t you worry.

behavior's actions are starting to catch up to them. Hopefully this gives them a wake up call, although I fear that they may have become too arrogant to notice their flaws.
This is what I predicted. BHVR starts gives in and nerfing Killers, players start leaving, and they’ll have to either buff all these Killers again or let the game die. I wonder how the player count will look after the inevitable Deathslinger and Spirit nerfs.

Same here, the frames are horrible for like ten seconds, then it smooths out, and I’m on a normal PS4. Also what is with the killer stance when you load in? All the killers I have played have their arms outstretched, holding their weapons.
It's listed as a known bug in the patch notes.

DbD: Prepare To Cry Edition
Holy crap. That is absolutely terrible. If this can’t be fixed soon, then they need to extend the event. I don’t remember the frames ever being this bad.
-
I looked through all tabs on the store and received nothing. I’ve bought all four Rifts and recently I got PH’s Corrupted outfit (the one where his flesh is ripped).
-
Are you kidding me?! It's not super surprising but still sucks, especially since my main is graphic-heavy. I might try a couple games with Doc to see just how bad it is for myself, but I think I'll just try to platinum RE3 Remake instead (at least the worst thing I have to deal with there is Stage 1 and 3 Nemesis being super aggressive on Inferno because it's from devs that know how to optimize their game). It's a shame, I was kinda excited for this event, but the poor optimization had to ruin it.

after those 2 shall it be Doctor and Clown, they both have antiloop powers too afterall.
I think it'll be Freddy after Deathslinger and Spirit. He's got high mobility and anti loop. Doc's map pressure isn't as strong as Freddy's and Clown doesn't have any additional mobility.
-
Pyramid just had too much control in a chase, which is a MASSIVE problem as Killers shouldn't control the chase. That's something reserved for Survivors. I'm now fully expecting nerfs to Deathslinger and Spirit, since they seem to be lumped together with PH.
Last night, I was wondering if I should play PH to enjoy him before the nerf (and in case the devs ruined him), but decided not to and played the last day of the COD: Black Ops Cold War beta. I have never regretted playing Call of Duty as much as I do now.
Unfortunately, it's looking more and more like the Blight cosmetics are the only good things about this patch (Blighted Blight is the second best cosmetic in the game).

i love when they nerf killer items whilst leaving them out of the PTB.. almost like it was intentional.. I wonder why they didn't want feedback on this? hmm let's think why
It reminds me of the Ruin change where they didn't want feedback on it (their feedback survey didn't have a Ruin section). They seemed hellbent on keeping that change. Is this BHVR's way of forcing certain changes on us?
-
So does nobody else see how this perk is going be abused in the endgame? If you thought catching Survivors during it was hard because of the others blocking you, now they'll also be moving faster. If they have Hope you're screwed. That Survivor is moving at 114%. It won't be a big deal before that though.
-
It's not unusable, but it didn't need this nerf. A better idea would have been to take 5% from Pop's regression (so from 25% to 20%) and give it to regular gen kicks (regular gen kicks do pretty much nothing). The duration was fine and was a huge help to low mobility Killers.
-
The Blight skins look like they're going to be one of the only good things about this patch. Blighted Blight is one of my favorite outfits in the game now.
-
...the hell? Why was this not in the PTB?
And why is tier 3 only 96 meters and not 128 to help with bigger maps like Mother’s Dwelling?
-
I think Ghostface, Demo, and Pig are coming up because BHVR seems to have more freedom with them.
-
Hey I did that once or twice.... when I was rank 20 and had no clue if his shock did damage.
I don't understand how these people find just running around only using your power fun. I would get bored so quickly. Maybe they're farming the shock 500 Survivors achievement/trophy? Even then, it's still a ######### playstyle because that will come naturally as you play Doc. You don't need to purposefully ruin four other players' fun for it.
-
I’m beginning to wonder if the license holders are somehow preventing BHVR from balancing the map.
-
The best guess I’ve heard is that it makes it easier to see smaller objects to bounce off of. Since so many people dislike it, we should be allowed to choose between the current POV and a raised POV for Blight.
-
Like the other unique perk challenges, we’ll probably only have one of them. I’m surprised we didn’t see this when Lightborn was buffed. Maybe it’s because Billy and Bubba were getting reworked at the same time so people were more focused on that and there wasn’t a Tome challenge that forced the Killer to use Lightborn.
-
My boy Doctor! Been playing him since 2017 and don’t plan on stopping. He was one of the reasons I actually bought the game.

It could be that the repaired generators are only tracked for survivors who have a challenge active, while the escaped and survived survivor stats come from games where any player has a challenge active.
In that case every survivor would contribute to the dead or escaped statistic, but not necessarily to the number of generators repaired.
I think you’re right. The devs released numbers for totems cleansed (2,121,979) on Twitter and said that it only counted totems cleansed while a totem challenge was active.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Okay, what I thought now may sound stupid, but hey. These stats were published to celebrate 1 year of the Archives, so what if these numbers of generators were the ones repaired while the "Repair x generators" challenge is active?
That’s what I’m thinking. These stats are way too low to be from normal gameplay.
Or a LOT of Survivors are throwing games just to finish their challenges.

No, Excel. That isn't confirmed that's a bug that's still on the game, and you should be really close to the spirit to actually notice that, and that bug isn't consistent so A LOT of time it will not work.
So her animation resetting is an inconsistent bug? Honestly that doesn’t surprise me.

Get some iri and range add ons for doc. Screw PH!! 😂
I have over a thousand range add-ons. Not as many Iri Kings because I’ve been using them for years but over 200 Iri Queens. I’m really low on PH’s range add-ons.
-
I think these stats are using data taken during the duration of the Rift (from the day it opened to the day it closed). If only 0.16 gens are really being done per match, then it sounds like a LOT of Survivors are throwing games to finish their challenges.
-
Nice, I can get some more add-ons for Doc or PH. Maybe finish getting Huntress and Nurse to level 50 (all the other Killers are at least level 50).
-
The tutorials didn’t exist in 2017.
-
Watch her idle animation carefully. If it resets, then she’s phasing. It surprised the hell out of me when I first saw it.
As for the tunneling, that’s more on the Killer player than the actual Killer. Did your teammates at least finish the rest of the gens and escape?
-
Yeah these mean nothing because of how many variables come into play.
-
Yeah, this seems way too exploit-y and it probably isn’t a great idea to keep it in the game. It looks too much like cheating.
-
Yeah, it’s definitely possible to cheat on consoles. I wish we could have some way of knowing whether the person reported was banned. As of right now, we have no way to know if our report worked or was even read.
-
I thought the dev stream confirmed the return of the flowers.

I play on ps4 I see the dips and the bugs. I watch this game in my spare time, I play this game whenever I can. Getting spun is a result of either your own hardware which is not on DBD to fix. Or your over eagerness to hit a survivor which is also not on DBD to fix. Like I said before let them spin in front of you.
Actually it isn’t the hardware’s fault. The PS4 and XB1 can run so many other games that are more demanding than DBD with nowhere near as many problems. The devs just can’t optimize consoles.
-
I think slugging’s fine unless you’re not planning on hooking anyone and just going to leave everyone on the floor to bleed out.
Doctor is not OP at all. He can be very strong and his add-ons can do a lot, but once you understand how he works, you should be fine. There’s a reason he isn’t with Nurse and Spirit in terms of strength.

The steam achievement says otherwise. Besides, that's a house that can actually be looped on, the Myers house is a death trap, you can't loop the upstairs without escaping down and without balanced landing you're screwed. There's like one GOOD street loop and the houses are super-massive blocks with long alleys that hardly changed. There aren't good loops on Haddonfield.
What rank are you at? Maybe the reason Haddonfield seems so bad for Survivor to you is because the other Survivors are crappy and are dragging you down. Good Survivors will turn it into a nightmare for the Killer.

@Tricks said:
Charge up your shock thing and let loose just before a pallet and you'll get a free hit 9 times out of 10 as the shock stops them from interacting with the pallet XD
This is far worse than what PH or Slinger does with pallets (not to mention it's actually impossible to counter) so I don't know why nobodys spamming the forum with doc nerf requests?
There's threads about him every couple of weeks.
If you think Doc's impossible to counter, then you just need to get good. Don't camp pallets, drop them early, and keep moving. His shock doesn't lock you in place. Like PH's ranged attack, you can see its outline before it hits you. Use that information against him. If you think Doc's just one of those Killers you can loop brainlessly (and it seems like you do), then you're in for a bad time. He's not like other Killers.

I won’t deny that they have a lower amount of pallets, but I very rarely saw them get that bad.
