If that were the case DS would have been rebalanced a long time ago. Soul guard is a good perk and Cheryl also got another perk that outright counters a killer perk a lot of survivors hated. Felix's perks arent amazing but one is a Thano/SLoppy counter and the other is good for flashlights and toolboxes
DS has already been nerfed so much it has lost its meaning. Did you forget it was nerfed? None of those new perks help against an aggressive killer that knows their stuff. Soul Guard is situational. Killer perks are instant gratification. Tinkerer punishes the survivor for doing the objective.
-
I ask survivors all the time how do they do it. A genrushing SWF is not fun. A solo bloodbath is not fun either. There is no middle ground. Devs have a lot of work to do, unless players somehow think this is fun. I don't.
-
Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. I've had the least fun in this game with past few DLCs. Killers get it all with uncounterable abilities with overpowered perks and survivors get nothing to change the meta. Absolutely nothing, but a few dead zones and bland perks is what they do get.
This is caused by devs being afraid of killers because selling the killer DLC is what is important to them. Survivors buy cosmetics so they can use the same perks every game. Every survivor uses dead hard, DS, BT, etc. Killer gets a game changing undying perk which is now used every game, tinkerer was overbuffed into full time meta. Where is the survivor perk being buffed into meta? It don't exist.
So if you are strictly a killer main, then you are very happy right now. But if you play both sides or strictly survivor, I have no idea how you can possibly be excited.
-
It's impossible to hide near generators due to how bright and bare the maps have become. Looping is the only thing you can possibly do. If you don't like it, play an anti-loop killer for even easier wins.
-
Both Clown and Pig are as good as the player. Neither needs buffed. Their killrates are way too high already.
-
I've said from the beginning, match imprisonment for a casual asymmetrical game is no good. Instead of a dc punishment, they need to add incentives to remain in a horrible unwinnable match.

Survivors just get whooped on. I play red ranks as a rank 1-3 survivor and it’s seriously the most consistent experience where everyone just dies even in high rank play. Survivors just don’t get the gens done in the majority of my games. I think it all boils down to just how easy it is to find survivors in this game given the available perks and abilities given to the killers. It doesn’t help that some of these maps are insanely small. It really makes me wonder if the devs are paying attention to win loss ratio for each side and balancing it accordingly. The least they can do is make it fun to die like Friday 13th. It’s not fun to do gens or die in this game but rather boring and frustrating.
Please explain why you play if you feel so oppressed...for my own knowledge of course.
I believe this is the reason the devs have not taken action - YOU continue to play knowing you have no chance to escape unless the killer is a noob.
-
That's why I didn't play PTB. Not interested. I'll just watch a few bloodbaths on twitch and form an opinion about it.
-
There is no question that whomever is in charge of maps does not play survivor. That, I can promise.
-
I would rather they work on the reasons for needing AI than the AI itself.
-
He need reworked completely again. I just know he is godly overpowered.
-
They were nerfed a little too much as usual. Takes way too much precision and timing also. The batteries also don't last long enough.
Killers have also learned to look at walls all the time which devoids their usage. I think they need buffed slightly.

I mean, it's really not that mechanically difficult to play the survivor. It's mainly just knowing the loops and where to stand to avoid mindgames, maybe some attack dodging here and there in between holding M1. Or not even holding M1 if you know the menu trick, I don't bother holding M1 anymore personally. The team is allowed a ton of mistakes cumulatively, which are more just abused by the survivors to screw around than anything.
Killer requires significantly more mechanical skill to play, is to a large degree much more stressful, requires more bloodpoints to play add-ons unless you are playing the strongest killers who don't need them, requires much better decision making in general, etc. You can stomp on noobs but once you hit survivor players of your experience/skill level it's not easy at all unless you are playing nurse or something. Most of the really good survivors play in SWFs since they know solo Q is hot garbage right now so the lobbies are even more stacked once you do run across them.
Ah, solo queue is hot garbage? In other words, tremendously and excruciatingly imbalanced is what you intended to say. They play SWF because they know they will lose playing solo.
-
She's boring to verse, the instant teleportation has way too little counterplay, and every hag camps.

I think most people in general are just inexperienced. I doubt too many people are going to commit the thousands of hours to learn every map / loop / etc in and out. I will play survivor and 80-90% of the games the killer is getting clapped. The other games are my team getting pubstomped by a killer who actually knows what they are doing and is running the meta / mori's.
I have seen a baby dwight with less than 100 hours at red rank. All you have to do is put on BT/DS, do a gen, farm a save or two, run the killer for 30 seconds, and you safety pip as survivor.
You basically proved my point. Survivor requires too much experience to do well and killer does not. Then when a killer becomes really experienced they almost never lose.
In contrast, a baby killer can use NOED, Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, BBQ or any combination thereof and also easily pip and get a lot more points to boot.

I played 7 matches with 2 friends of mine the other day. This was my first time playing SWF since early 2018 (I usually play killer or solo survivor as I'm rarely online at the same time as them).
Even though we played without coms we won 6 out of 7 matches EASILY. It really felt like easy mode and I didn't even get to interact with the killer during a few matches as all of us can loop, work on gens while injured, run decent builds.
Do you have any idea how quickly gens pop when ALL survivors work on gens at all times and NO ONE goes down QUICKLY ?
If we played in a full 4 man WITH coms we would probably fall asleep while curbstomping red rank killers.
The game is NOT killer sided. Most survivors are just terrible at the game making the statistics trivial.
You don't balance around people that drop god pallets at 5 gens after getting hit.
So survivors are mostly terrible and killers are mostly good at the game? If this is the argument to say the stats are flawed, then it is a double-standard and biased reasoning.
-
What needs to be addressed is why are they suiciding?
Could it be because the killer is using the sleepy slowgen build and they felt there was no chance (oppressed)? Is he camping? Is it a Iri-Head Huntress? A Freddy? A mori was used and the survivor felt they were going to tunnel off hook?
-
This map will become a gigantic deadzone - I am calling it right now. Bookmark this comment and pay me later. Survivors better use their offerings because you'll soon never want to see the map again.
-
It is a hide and seek game. To the contrary, killers have way too many perks negating stealth, a fundamental defense for many.

Actually, survivors have the luxury of being able to equip multiple second-chance perks, particularly DS/UB which grants a full minute of invulnerability.
There is no equivalent killer perk that gives that much value.
Those perks are directly dependent on how the killer plays so survivor may sometimes never get value from them. Killer meta perks constantly reward them for doing their objective and constantly punish survivors for doing theirs(BBQ/POP) or for survivor doing the objective and killer is doing nothing(Tinkerer). There's nothing close to the unfairness of tinkerer or undying.
-
Been playing since it came out, survivor is unplayable without 4 coordinated friends genrushing the hell out of the killer. I'll say it again, killer is now too overpowered.
-
Current balance:
1. Survivors are desensitized with losing.
2. Killers are desensitized with winning.

Funnily enough, the strongest survivor perks are still more powerful than the best killer perks.
You don't need the very best survivor perks to even win or perform decently, whereas the killer does.
Survivors don't have the luxury of using perks to hinder killers. In a game of cat and mouse, if the cat is always being told where to find the mouse, then the cat will have a huge advantage no matter what the mouse uses. If the cat loses without those perks then it is fair to say they deserve to lose and the perks were carrying them.
-
The problem is the competition with the overpowered killer perk meta. If you aren't using the very best survivor perks then you are at a greater disadvantage than you already are.
-
I better option would be to have more ways to prevent tunneling, such as much stronger perks. The entity could also punish the killer for not giving survivors hope. The entity could hit the killer with a bolt of lightning and stun him for several seconds for repeat tunneling, slugging at 5 gens, etc.

How is Bubba more problematic than Billy, Oni, Myers, Ghostface or even regular M1 killers when the whole map is a death zone, though?
I thought you were referring to "normal" rng. That picture is just a mess and shouldn't even happen.
It's a bloodbath for all killers. But I see these deadzones all the time.
-
@Yamaoka said:

There are enough defenses. You just refuse to use them.
But let me guess: Nearly 3 minutes for 1 hook (out of a maximum of 12) is not enough. Bubba should be even MORE loopable.
What some people don't seem to understand is survivors have "up to" 3 lives EACH.
Technically a 3 minute chase shouldn't even be possible no matter what.
Just learn how to loop. Bubba has the exact same counterplay as before.
No pallets right here for as far as you can see. I can't refuse to use something if they don't exists. As the number of pallets decrease, the power of killers increase. It's a horrendous trend.
-
Bubba is another example of how BHVR overbuffs killers. If he is going to be able to use his chainsaw for an eternity now, then there needs to be a lot more defenses on the map.
-
I can't wait to see all the deadzones on these map updates. May have to become 100% killer main.
-
The game is not balanced for solos so there is no recommendations that will help. I can promise you that. Any killer worth their weight can throw on a bunch of slowgen and tracking perks and enjoy their victory. If you aren't playing in a 4man SWF then you are at a huge disadvantage.
-
I love it when they try to hide their hacks. Watch their behaviors very closely.
-
Rewards the other side for doing the objective. Yeah, it's wrong. I hate the perk.
-
It's a law that nurse can't have good add-ons.

IMO Clown is the worst killer in the game, most killers in the game have snowball potential and nearly all of them have something rooting for them. Clown has literally nothing. The only good thing I see about clown is punishing survivors mistakes and that is too inconsistent and unreliable. I think he is the only killer that truly really relies on that. Also you saying that huntress has no counter play doesn't make sense to me. There are multiple ways to counter something the huntress does. First chase with her? Instead of dropping the pallet keep running, see if she runs through it. If she pulls up a hatchet and you keep looping, you will not get hit. Survivors haven't even been nerfed since like 2018 so I don't even know what you mean by that. Maps have been nerfed because some maps are absolutely ridiculous. Ormond is still bonkers. Haddonfield is one of the biggest maps with one of the most amount of pallets, mother's dwelling is incredibly hard to win on with a killer with no map mobility (so like half the killers), there are still busted maps in the game. Also, you saying that all killers have counterplay doesn't make sense. It really doesn't. You can counter the hillbilly and bubba by stunning him out of their chainsaw dash with a pallet which takes skill and knowledge. You can bait nurse into blinking into the pallet and then dropping it as she appears out of her blink. You can loop any m1 killers normally without needed to adapt to a certain tile. You have to explain what you mean by most killers having limited to no counterplay. To me it barely makes any sense.
Clown is probably my 2nd favorite killer to play at red ranks and his power is way underrated. Using his gas to slow survivors down and prevent loops is how you make him so strong. Most mindlessly waste his gas. I don't want him buffed because he will be boring to play. I use to play old Freddy a lot but now I wouldn't touch him because he's a free ez win. Shutting your brain off and winning is not really winning anything. Maps like Ormond are fair because it means the killer can't be breathing down someone's neck almost immediately after hooking someone and it's a free win for killer with tiny maps. When I say Huntress has no counterplay, a good one doesn't. They can bait the pallets, they can abuse the hitboxes, they throw right through the tiny crevaces at loops and so you have no counterplay, absolutely none. That's why a really good huntress drops all four survivors by slugging like an old nurse with 5 blinks. A huntress with 5 hatchets is just as bad. You don't need 5 hatchets to down someone, which was the argument that nurse didn't need 5 blinks to down someone. Huntress needs no more than 2 or 3. Have you noticed how fast she can throw 2 hatchets? With how sparse maps are now, she can actually hit you twice before you can get to a safe location. This is why I say she has no counterplay. She's not the #1 picked killer for no reason.
-
Well, Clown is certainly not the worst and I don't adore versing a huntress. No counterplay there. Survivors have been nerfed, maps have been nerfed, making all these killers have limited to no counterplay. All it takes is a good killer with oppressive perks and you better hope you are on a genrush team.
-
Any PVP game breeds toxicity. Be glad there's no comms. You need a thick skin to play killer.
-
I still see killers doing just fine at haddonfield.

Yes, it does make for a boring game. HOWEVER, Ruin/Undying only works if survivors are repeatedly failing in chases. It's exposing just how terrible most survivors are in a chase. Most players don't even last 20 seconds. That's insanely bad on most maps.
This is because in general killers are too overpowered and maps are too unfriendly for the majority. You shouldn't need thousands of hours to extend a chase. When I check profiles after a match for curiosity, survivors with between 500-1000 hours were all going down within the few seconds you mentioned because it was a blight, freddy, spirit, oni, huntress, etc. Compound those perks on those killers and it is an impossible match always ending in a bloodbath. It is not acceptable for these killers to be that powerful.
-
What if I said the devs plan to buff another killer before nerfing Huntress?

"All seeing" huh... Freddy lost that power with his buff. And if your referring to BBQ well that already has enough counters so use them.
Lockers are not always nearby. If you are always hiding in a locker and not doing the objective, the killer will win either way, especially this killer because he is all over the map with an oppressive power.
-
Killers have directly caused genrushing to be meta. They can look directly in the camera with a very guilty face. The devs have allowed it to happen through a series of survivor nerfs and killer buffs that allow survivors to go down very quickly and for survivor objectives to be unfairly reset. The recent chapter that introduced a completely and totally busted slowgen aura perk. I've played the game enough to know that the only possible way to beat a decent killer loaded to the gills with perks is through a 4man coordinated SWF genrush. Even then, there is no guarantee of getting out, that's how broken the game is.
-
Your suffering is because killers have gotten too powerful in this video game. They also take the game way too seriously. I quit very early tonight myself, have no further desire for the rest of the night to play the sweaty slug game and watching another bloodbath unfold. I don't know how survivors re-queue knowing the outcome will be the same.

Nearly 7k hours in DBD since 2016, 2/3 of it survivor. "Killer main". I never mentioned kill counts, or 4k's. Only you have done that. Good job putting words in my mouth and forfeiting the argument, though.
Also - kill rate stats mean nothing. By the devs own stats, Object of Obsession is "fine" and not a problem either. Even THEY said to take the kill rate stats with a grain of salt. They don't take into consideration AFK survivors, first hook dips, etc. Come up with something solid, then you're allowed to have a response. :)
You called me a survivor main so what's wrong with me calling you a "killer main"
If you are being honest and not playing the mob mentality, you will see that Object of Obession is fine and that stats do matter. Killrates are way too high. What isn't fine is extreme slowgen builds with aura reading.

This post just tells people you're a terrible survivor.
Nothing about Freddy is OP. People like you just want every killer to be Wraith and have no anti-loop, or map pressure. People like you thought Hillbilly needed his base kit nerfed.
This post tells me you are a killer main that believes anything less than a 4K every match is unbalanced. 75% winrate with possible hatches is grossly unbalanced.
-
The only possible way to win against freddy is if he is a perkless noob. Perks makes him OP, his teleportation makes him OP, his instant snares with no cooldown makes him OP. He should have already been nerfed. The devs are sleeping on this one or either counting their money. To be honest, the devs have lost all touch with quality of life of survivor gameplay. I don't know how survivors do it.

I honestly think you maye could consider taking a break. Your posts picture you as so sad, I don´t like that one bit. Maybe you´re a bit burned out from DBD?
That is very sad I have that thought, for a game I love. Survivors re-queue like braindead zombies knowing they are going to die. There is no fairness to that at all. I want to understand the psychological reasoning, that is all.
