I've been playing the Twins a lot lately and there's no way they are at the bottom.

Ruin and tinkerer wins games?
Why? Because survivors won't break totems or finish gens while killer is in chase?
Survivors have roles to play, but everybody just focuses on gens. That's their mistake and rightfully punished for it.
Because forcing two objectives can sometimes be too much and nothing compares to it. Imagine a survivor perk that forces killer to go rabbit hunting before he can kill survivors. That's ruin/undying.

like this is comparable? well i can tell you it is not since i do play both sides and I recognize that DS needs a tuning to make it a more balanced and better perk while still being strong. but tinkerer is no where near the level of DS one bit.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1796590#Comment_1796590
they did not say that ds was anti-tunneling but used that as allegory because most here say ds is anti-tunnel (which devs have refuted) and the comparison made was honestly very badly done. tinkerer has no where near the power that ds has. they are not invincible only if you choose to tunnel.... I've littereally hooked PERSON A, gone and downed b and c, hooked b and c while d unhooked A (with ds) then while b and c were hooked i went and found d, downed and hooked them now all that was left was person a as b and c were still on hooks. so I patrolled and found A a bit later, downed and suddenly blammo hit with DS.... I was punished for being to effecient, not because I tunneled but because I had 3 people on hooks at any one time, and while A had the 5 seconds, they unhooked b and c then as i was chasing them i ended up loosing d's hook and they opened the door and got out at that point because i was trying to get them the momentum was on their side (B had wakeup ironically and I was playing trapper) but anyways it's 60 seconds of invincibility and no timer over the head to keep track of how long they've been unhooked for so yea no it's not just something to prevent tunneling or momentum and what not but it can punish a killer for doing their job efficiently.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1796678#Comment_1796678
the survivors have so many second chance perks it's not even funny about 3-4 times the amount the killers have. and thus the survivors can make bad plays and intentionally harass the killer. and when they do that and others do gens the killers can't do anything to counter this so yea it's crappy that killers have to work harder and more efficiently than survivors but it's how the game is made. oh want to know some fun facts? when I take a ds early in game hunt that one down, slug them and then go after the others, forcing the one down to use unbreakable EARLY in the game and thus later i will tunnel them for their 2nd and third hook just to show them how it feels. otherwise i don't tunnel but when someone's on a gen that i know was not even started and it's almost done and i grab them and they ds me that's bs because i wasn't just standing behind them and them on the gen it is me hunting and then found them again and blamo ds? what?
I play both sides but I don't think you do. It is called Decisive Strike, notice the first part of the name. It should be decided by the survivor, not at the killers convenience. Killer already has way too much control when it is used. Imagine a movie where the survivor must ask the killer for permission to strike them. That is actually what you want with DS, an even weaker perk than what it already is.
Ruin, Tinkerer wins killers games for them, DS hardly does.

Great. We can make it true anti-tunneling perk then that DS-disables or at least halfs the timer if you go repair gens. (Cannot be tunneled if you are repairing generators). If you look at killer perks for example you need to make choices to make your perks work. You cannot stack Pop with other slowdowns like ruin etc, STBFL you need to choose if you want to save stacks by not attacking the obsession. It doesn't make any sense you get 60 second invincibility if you get hooked and you can run straight to generator and killer cannot touch you.
What if it a stealth killer hiding waiting for you to touch a gen and then tunnel? Why should a perk be disabled for doing the objective? Very counter-intuitive. Killer perks are awarded for doing their objective, failing to do their objective, the survivor doing the objective...

Not a single killer perk is close to strength of DS. So if you want to nerf undying, bbq or what ever in trade most killers would take it in heart beat. DS needs more drawbacks because it literally gives 2x 60 second immunity during the match. It was made to be anti-tunnel perk, not free invincibility for failing
It is only strong if the killer allows it. A small protection against tunneling is why it is used. Because someone abuses DS by committing suicide doesn't mean it should be nerfed. Every killer is guilty at abusing their perks to gain an advantage. There's nothing different here with DS.

Tinkerer isnt made as a anti tunnel perk that can hit the killer after hes hooked 2 other survivors and give complete invincibility in lockers and with unbreakable.
What makes you think DS is strictly anti-tunnel?
For the record, they are invincible if you choose to tunnel. If survivors are magically disabled for doing actions, then so should killer perks. It is amazing killers think Tinkerer is fine as it is, a perk that literally PUNISHES the other side for doing the objective. No counterplay.
-
@vintageethot said:
DS needs a rework, it can be abused way too easily. Make it so that DS is active for 30 seconds, but the timer pauses in chase. DS can also deactivate if someone else gets unhooked or if you do anything to progress the game, such as healing or doing a generator/gate.
Lets nerf Tinkerer to be disabled if the killer attempts to progress the game.

You pounce on a healthy Survivor and then they steal him for 45 seconds. That’s what I meant. For almost a full minute you have no power of any kind.
I see it differently, your power is that survivor can't do anything productive, Charlotte is only having to deal with 3 survivors now. Or she can find that survivor.
-

Where did anyone say anything about Victor being able to instadown?
You said "He only does stuff if you pounce on an injured Survivor"...I interpreted that as he couldn't do anything to healthy surv.
-
That would definitely be OP if he could down a healthy survivor. Think of the massive pressure: one with a baby on their back and now Charlotte can go pressure another survivor. That's immense.
-
I think that is really good, rewarded for hitting and punished for missing. Huntress with 5 chances are a little too forgiving most of the time. When you are good with Victor he is deadly, even with 1 chance most of the time.
-
It's about time he is getting looked at. Way too much in one killer!
-
You are complaining because people are playing Twins in a manner that is consistent with all other killers. That is NOT an issue with the Twins. Rather an issue with the player. The game can't force someone to play a certain way. You continue to say that because the Twins can't pressure gens players are somehow forced to camp and slug. That is a generalization I do not accept because I see Spirits ALL THE TIME camping, tunneling, and slugging. In fact, I find them to be the biggest sluggers, when in fact they don't need to. Your reasoning is flawed. You can be the most powerful killer, teleport around the map, and they will still slug and play in an unfun manner. I think this is another petty excuse to nerf gens because you can't play the Twins or you saw someone else say "aw, they are weak".
All killers shouldn't be able to win all the time. A killer shouldn't be able to pressure all the gens all the time. A killer shouldn't feel comfortable with winning, which you alluded to. If gens are going too fast, it is not always the game's fault.
-
I played them last night for the first time and they are so much fun I couldn't stop and without perks at rank 1 I did extremely well. They are underated for sure. Killers think they can't play without their meta killers and perks.
-
There's a reason you see so many Huntresses. She's a free win. The devs don't care is the worst part because they KNOW this. I've been complaining about it for over a year. I equip WGLF, get my points, and leave.

What's super frustrating is that the devs don't even give us proper answers anymore even when a thread like this blows up. We're met with crap like
"pLeAsE sTOp ssPrEAdInG nEgAtIvITy and DONT DISRESPECT US"
You don't force respect, you earn it. And you certainly don't earn it by turning 50 good people's profile pics into this because you didn't like their criticism.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AAG7DZR7S1YE/image.png
How about some real answers? "we're working on it" gives us ZERO INSIGHT. Be clear with us for once, tell us why the problems happen, an ETA on a fix, and maybe respect will go both ways between players and devs. But this just looks like a lazy joke.
To be fair, they already said they are working on a hotfix. I don't think they have time to babysit.
I don't see anything game breaking in this patch other than the new maps are killer sided deadzones. Killers should be happy here but it is like that kid that once you give them a piece of candy they keep begging for more and they eventually start crying and it ultimately turns into a tantrum.
-
A new killer that can be in two places at once, best camp machine since the Hag, and released with map updates with nothing but deadzones and it is the weakest killer. I can't help but smh.

Good riddance, honestly
I know killer mains are celebrating, but when all the survivors are gone you won't have anyone to chase but an empty graveyard with no pallets.
-
I've always said they listen too much.
A community that almost entirely believes that if the killer loses, it is a survivor sided game. If the survivors lose, the survivors are potatoes. This mentality is a disease.
Killers are actually going to kill the game. Watch.
-
I agree, this killer is extremely good, if not probably overpowered once learned. Killer mains are bellyaching because she is not an ez 4K on the first day. Nothing new today.

We need stronger killer, especially because this game favor survivors like no other, they basically have free wins, they should be nerfed.
It does not favor survivors at all
-
Deathslinger is unfair and unfun 1v1. I'd rather go to the dentist than see him.
Huntress is overpowered across the board, especially a good one. 5 hatchets with hardly any cooldown between throws, with smaller and nerfed maps.
-
Maybe this killer isn't a free win which is a positive thing. Effort, perseverance.
-
The only thing game breaking is how much easier it is for killers. There are huge deadzones on the maps, no pallets for a hundred miles. Most pallets on the new Ormond are actual suicide zones. The map designer should be fired!
I played one game as survivor on the new Ormond map and I legit turned off the game to take a breather because it was so tilting. This is a major issue, the tiny amount of bugs on the killer side are minuscule here.
-
Why would you make a killer sided game more killer sided?
-
You haven't seen anything yet. Look at the new Ormond. It is now a killer's paradise. But it is exactly what I predicted.
-
Re-buff survivors, nerf killer perks. They already have Kindred, it doesn't help. Give survivors a way to turn off killer auras by buffing distortion to unlimited use. This should be an option in a horror hide and seek game. The auras and slowgen perks is what pushes killers over the edge. Lack of map defenses for survivors that are less than experts is an issue too.

Really? Shouldn't killers have long queues then?
More people queuing with friends?
Killer is definitely the role to play if you want to win consistently.
-
That is a bunch of malarkey.
Killers win every game because it is now too easy.
-
Add Huntress please.
Any killer played well enough has no counter when you think about it. The only counter is a SWF genrush. I think every killer rework buff was overtuned and unfun. Can't wait to see a teleporting Clown coming up or some godly power of his that you can't counter.
-
You can facecamp as bubba with NOED and still get 20K+
The survivor that smartly does the gens and swiftly escapes unharmed gets less than 10K.
The way the game awards points is so unfair.
-
Casual solos are an automatic loss against a decent killer because they can't rush the gens fast enough. If it is a good killer it is game over when everyone has spawned. Too many killer perks telling killer where everyone is located. Perks like Ruin and Undying are too oppressive against casuals. Distortion needs a buff.
Voice chat is not really the issue because most good SWF plays together in groups which gives the illusion that SWF is unbalanced to killer because they didn't 4K. Solos are being slaughtered with 5 gens still up with all of the killer perks, killer later encounters a SWF and one or two sneaks out and the game is now unbalanced. I think it is over-exaggerated. Is it harder to play against SWF? Definitely, but not unwinnable.
-
Huntress is OP.
-
On a high mobility killer especially, the aura reading and difficulty to remove ruin is too oppressive. He can go down the person trying to do the totem, then uses his other aura perk (BBQ!) and go take the next person down (What if the gen was about 99% done). The gen resets, he go after the next person trying to do his totem after seeing the aura. What if they get the wrong totem? The high mobility killer has already hooked twice, he still has Ruin, the gens have mostly or totally reset. It is practically unwinnable already, simply because of two slowdown perks and an aura reading. The killer didn't have to do anything but watch for auras.
-
These killers that are so overbearing like Spirit was released when all maps were like current Ormond, larger with ample supplies of pallets for defending against the killer. You could even stealth play if you wanted to. Rotten Fields is now smaller, same as other maps, at least half of the maps have deadzones. Brand New Part could instantly repair a gen, you could needle yourself for an instant health state. Several survivor perks have been heavily nerfed. There has been a lot of nerfs on the survivor side. If the devs are satisfied with all of these nerfs, then it should be reasonable to nerf killers like Spirit, Huntress, Hag, and Freddy to be in line so they are now fair to play against. Right now they are way overpowered because their counterplay hardly exists and survivors do not have tools to make up for that difference.

I know this is a meme but my god if it ever applied to anybody... It'd b @Sluzzy
How is he the weakest killer? A killer that kills over 60% at rank 1 is not weak. There's some killers that need nerfing before buffing yet another killer for the sake of boosting egos.
-
Undying now needs the MoM treatment because it is so overpowered.
Nerfing a survivor perk that has already been gutted, reworked and is now mostly decided by the killer is not even close to a fair comparison.

There's 1 killer and 4 survivors so the odds of getting a skilled killer is factually considerably higher than getting skilled survivors - especially considering the fact it is easier to hit red ranks as survivor than killer.
That is somewhat my point. Killer is so powerful when played well, all four survivors have to be actual professional gamers to beat them.

Because most of the times you people don't want proof, you want to stay in your teeny tiny echo chamber that this forum is to complain.
We can already redirect you to killer streamers that play without being boring ass slowdown abusers and you won't go watch them. If we showed you videos you'd probably just be like "but these survivors did this this and this wrong", while when you killers play like garbage fail to see your own mistakes and blame it on "gen rush" and "survivors op"
This is true. It is always the excuse of survivors are potatoes. Every time.
Somehow in DBD, survivors are all potatoes and killers are all skilled masters in their role and one single loss is a result of survivors being OP and never because of their own mistake. The fact of the matter is, they all need to be in their 4 man SWF genrushing to possibly win.
-
It's not fine, It's a free win. Last night everyone gave up against a spirit with this build. It's stupid.
-
Meanwhile, the overwhelming majority of all other matches the killer has everyone down before a gen is done or before the gates are opened. Anyone that is honest knows the game is extremely killer sided. The only time survivors win is when four coordinated survivors are pitted against a medicore killer that loosely watches their gens with their perks.

I often see survivors (who are sharp) notice by the 2nd or 3rd gen usually, they start to run away from the gen right after it triggers Tinkerer, often making it by the time I show up they're hidden. It's not unbeatable but it is difficult.
Because a couple has been sharp with it doesn't make it fair.
-
That's way too much to ask. They are too busy releasing a new killer, buffing yet another killer, and reworking maps so they are more friendly for killers. Their new balance target is 4K.
-
Tinkerer: penalizes the survivor for doing the objective and rewards killer for doing nothing. A perk that not only gives an audio cue, emits a bright glow on the screen telling the killer WHERE TO GO, and switches off the terror radius so you can get a free hit. I can't believe this perk exists. On a high mobility killer, it is not possible to beat this perk unless you are in strong coordination. Also Imagine a 3 gen situation. It needs nerfing badly. I don't think the devs care, their trend is to continue making it easier and easier for killers and put survivors in no-win situations.
-
A new objective? They can't do the one they have now.

Oh so now it’s solo Q. If killers are op in solo q then get some friends. 7/10 times a red rank full swf will stop a red rank killer.
Not me. :)
Even if it was true, you shouldn't be forced to team up with 3 friends to have a fair chance at winning.
-
I'd like to see Unbreakable get a buff that if everyone is down, it activates regardless of whether it was already used or not. Would fit Bill's persona pretty well.
-
I can agree 101%. It is way too easy and too easy to win. Thank the devs for constantly nerfing survivors and buffing killers. I can't believe survivors are still able to run. In 2021 they are definitely planning to remove pallets, it is the only thing left.

Well, he's right. Unless there's tome objectives to do, there's no real reason to do anything but the generators and wait for a killer chase. The reason killers win at all, in my solo queue experience, is due to two things - stupid save attempts/hook bombing and survivor refusal to do generators. I think it's safe to say that most people agree that holding M1 for a whole game is boring, and it is, but until an alternative objective is presented (that's actually fun, not just another flavor of hold M1), most people will troll and throw games, which skews statistics and causes killers to look more powerful than they are.
I've said this in another thread of mine that I created a while back, but the tldr of it is: survivors create most bad habits in killers that they despise with the exception of tunneling. If you sit on the objective, refuse to buy into a camping killer's painfully predictable trap, and can hold W after getting hit once (without including proper tile play) then you should be escaping 80% of your matches.
What pisses off people like me (who aren't even hyper competitive in this game anymore since realizing it's a joke) is when your team makes stupid decision after stupid decision, causing bad or average killers to win games they otherwise shouldn't have.
EDIT: I'm also of the opinion that tomes exist to cause survivors to play less optimally, encouraging them to chase stupid achievements, thereby inflating the kill rates and making the game look "fine" from a statistical point of view. We all know how much BVHR seems to love their numbers >.>
You are greatly underestimating the power of killers. I highly doubt survivors are simply throwing matches for the fun of it. Maybe some but it is not the norm. When killers are loaded down with aura and slowgen perks, good killers pressure gens well enough that it is impossible to complete the objective unless you are in a coordinated SWF genrushing.
The game has become SWF Genrush vs. Killrush killer. Killers are overpowered.
