I didn’t. I bought it cause a friend suggested it and we play as a group. 😂 well have fun not playing or sitting in timeout 🙌🏻 Try civ
Nobody in here is talking about DCing on SWFs. This thread refers to solo queue.

Yeah but you also cant have nothing in place which just encourages it. DCing was waaay down when they introduced this system. It ruins the match for everyone and 4/5 people might want to play that match.
People bought the game to have fun individually. Other players are not your babysitter and are not responsible for your fun. Why is your fun paramount over theirs? Quite the superiority complex.
If you expect me or anyone else to be your babysitter, surely you don't expect us to do it for free. So take your entitled hand out of your entitled pocket, and pull out your wallet to cough up some cash and pay us to be your babysitter.
Otherwise, just keep whining.

I believe a more accurate quote would be:
"Let's remove a mechanic that ruins the game for 4 other players. If they really want to stop playing, then they can disconnect. DC penalties are enough."
You know, in history there was another group of people who tried to make the world do what they wanted to do, regardless if they wanted to do it or not.
They lost in WW2.

U can think whatever you want on whether you deserve to be paid to stay in a match but how does this have anything to do with the downward spiral the game faces from no more suicides on hooks? There are plenty of other games that don't even give you the option to suicide to leave the game early. They seem to be doing fine without the option. Then there's the fact that ppl seem to be very keen on paying game companies to not have to deal with inconveniences that feel like work so maybe you should have to pay microtransactions to suicide on hooks.
"Let's force people to stay in our game against their will. DC penalties aren't enough".
If you were to make a video game, it would fail.

...so forcing 1 person to stick to a match for the enjoyment of 4 other people will lead to a downward spiral for the game. If the game isn't enjoyable for everyone then a vote system should be fine.
Meanwhile, letting that 1 person suicide on hook so they can quit and keeping joining other games until they find that one acceptable game will not lead to a downward spiral of death?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1489577#Comment_1489577
I never said suicide should be punished. I said it should be completely removed. Gone. When you fail a Kobe or struggle you just get some other penalty without being killed. Something with the emblems.
When you go force people to stay, it goes from being a game to being an obligation. They can remove the option to dip when they start paying us to play the game.

- Sounds are broken half the time.
- Infinite loading screen (this has been going on YEARS now)
- Basement hooked people being teleported to the upstairs of wherever the basement is located (sometimes locking survivors inside objects)
- SERVER SIDE disconnect issue (these are bugs, caused by BHVR's servers)
- People getting stuck in healing animation, forcing them to have to DC cause even EGC doesn't kill them (Again, years now)
- Archive challenges not triggering as complete sometimes.
- People not getting their rift rewards sometimes.
- People's bloodpoints disappearing into thin air.
- MULTIPLE crash bugs
- AURAS ARE BROKEN.
These are just the tip of the iceberg of bugs in this game, and this doesn't even go into the ######### they constantly fix and RE-BREAK an update or two later. The only thing consistent about BHVR are the bugs, really.
-
@Dacrenon said:
My understanding is that this doesn't need to be done in a single match, so you could do 3 matches where someone else leaves before you and complete it - or am I mistaken?
No, you're right, but still. Why is that a challenge for a single player?
Why is a challenge for one person relying to heavily on OTHER players, especially with the matchmaking as borked as it is?

Dont tell me yall still DC over Legion.
They also thought Billy needed to be nerfed. So would it surprise you?
-
No.
Simply put - you can integrate DC penalties, but the second you force people to stay in your game is the second your game goes into a heavy downward spiral.
You can not force people to stay in game.

Well if 300 recorded and uploaded games isn't evidence enough for you, maybe you should try not being as close minded as possible.
Calling me closed minded - while you're telling people they are cheating for using things like game filters.
-
If you needed a charge time addon for Billy at any point to do well...well let's just say it's not new Billy that's trash. It's your skill.

The guy who uses solid evidence that clearly proves a point? Wow, how insulting that was.
What solid evidence? Where is this "solid" evidence? Sounds a lot like looking for a scapegoat to justify a loss, to me.
Soon you'll be saying having surround sound headphones are cheating somehow.
-
I suppose playing at high framerates is "tryharding" and an "unfair advantage" too, huh?
Get off it. Who are you, Marth? KEKW

We're preparing some changes for auras as we speak. I can't give an ETA just yet, but we're hoping to have them in as soon as possible. The intent was never to significantly change the way auras appear.
Thank you for at least giving us some word. Hopefully this comes as a hotfix and we don't have to wait until next patch. I think this is pressing enough to warrant it.

Honestly, the way BHVR has this system implemented is very half-assed.

Fog Whisperers are merely an option to show us the new shiny overpriced crap we should buy @SpaceCoconut said it perfectly in one of his video about the subject. While some outfits are really cool, credits where credits due, but paying $10 - $15 for an outfit, especially the ones you can't combine with anything? NO! Capcom made the mistake in Street Fighter V and I voted with my wallet against them. Same thing I do with BHVR. I don't support greed.
SpaceCoconut pointed out the obvious? shocker
-
Eh, looks more like Bill.
-
OP must be new.
"Let's let the devs to their thing"
They do their thing regardless. They don't even listen to their fog whisperers lol.
-
Only her addons (or rather, only ONE of her addons) are OP.
Thus, BHVR will add an overheat mechanic to her hatchets.
-
So they release a patch that breaks something (in this case, Auras), and left other things that were previously broken....STILL broken....and they bring back DC penalties. Guess we know where their priorities lie over at the circus called "Behavior Interactive".
-
It's quite disheartening to not have an official response to this yet.
Meanwhile, they'll crack jokes in other threads, and poke fun at people with opinions.

If they ever made a sequel/revamp and progress/DLC/cosmetics didn't carry over, I'd feel pretty cheated, to be honest.

This thread is funny. Funny as in, it's like watching a comedian on stage, and people aren't laughing at their jokes because they are funny. They're laughing at the comedian because their jokes are terrible.

@TotemsCleanser said:
Stop making it a survivors vs killers thing, I'm a survivor main and I can't see #########. I sometimes can't even spot where my teammates have been slugged or hooked, let alone totem auras with Detective's Hunch or a map.
I had been wondering all day about how this might have affected colorblind people because if I, not colorblind, have been struggling to see anything at all, the game must have become unplayable for them. I came to the forums specifically to find out it's true.
This hurts both survivors and killers. Get the us vs them nonsense outta here.
It's not about survivor vs killer, but there's no denying that colorblind killers will suffer because of this more than colorblind survivors. Being that the very foundation of finding survivors (which is patrolling generators based on aura location) is completely borked here for them. Survivors don't rely on aura reading to do their objective.
Stating the obvious isn't making it survivors vs killers. It's called stating the obvious. Does it hurt both sides? Yes. Does it effect killers more? Yes.
-
Franklin's is just great for knocking the key out of their hand and standing on top of it until it disintegrates with insidious. :D
-
I'm more crtiical of DS than probably of anyone, but I DO understand why it's necessary.
That being said, it can exist as an anti tunnel device and still not be broken, like it is now.
A lot of killers things have conditions, and DS should also have conditions on it. If you get unhooked, and are:
- Fully healed.
- Get on a gen (or do anything to progress the game forward, like destroying a totem, opening the gate etc)
- Someone else gets hooked.
DS should deactivate. It's impossible that you are being tunneled if any of those things are happening.
As a trade off for that, you could say if you get slugged, the timer freezes, so you can't simply be slugged to wait it out. The timer would also be 90 seconds - so if the killer DID chase you, he'd be wasting a lot of time.
On the flip side - DS should not work during the end game collapse or if you're the only survivor left. If a door is opened, and you get unhooked, and have DS, there's no way to counter that, and it's just you being invincible, with is a problem.
And that's the main issue people have with DS. Not that it exists. If it existed as anti tunnel, and worked only as such, it wouldn't get a lot of hate. Right now it's just 60 seconds of invulnerability, and that's a busted mechanic in a game like this.

On top of just generally this new change being not received very well because it seems to be a general overall downgrade in quality and visibility for everyone. This is a seriously valid and relevant concern that I hadn't even thought about, is BHVR really going to alienate it's color-blind playerbase? @Peanits @not_Queen
Alienating those with disabilities would be a PR nightmare. Companies get cancelled over things like that.
I'm sure the fine, more than competent folks at BHVR wouldn't let that happen, would they?

It depends. Killers can now see survivors directly through generators, but how well they can depends on their graphics quality, and it's harder than ever to see individual aura's as a whole. Either way, my fun, goofy Kindred/Bond/Open Handed build is gone.
That's cool and all - but now aura's are so dim that colorblind users literally see nothing.

"Cause" isn't a real word in that context either, both are slang.
For your own sake - stop. This will only end badly for you. You don't have what it takes.
Even if it is slang. It's better than your slang, and it generally accepted.

Yeah, except you haven't, cos Billy's already nerfed and I'm loving it.
"cause"
If you're going to attempt (and fail miserably like you currently are) to outwit me, at least put effort into it, kiddo.
Also, he's not really that nerfed. They rolled back a lot of the harsher changes. His base kit is largely unaffected.
And I'm loving it.

That's what I thought. Absolutely zero counterpoint. That's where I know I've won.

Yeah, what a surprise that streamers always say he's fine when they get big viewer numbers while they 4k every match with him. Oh, there's no possible ulterior motives there.
The only streamers who get "4ks every game" with Billy are the ones running Crackbilly, Drift King Billy or Insta-Saw Billy builds; and nobody is saying those didn't need to be nerfed. The COMMUNITY, as a MAJORITY is was against the nerf to his *base kit*. His addons were too much.
You're really good at only telling half the story. Keep going and I'll keep busting you down to size, bud.

No it wouldn’t be correct. There are some very vocal forum members, but there’s no indisputable data proving the majority didn’t want hillbilly touched.
What you're doing - that's called denial.

i don't kno why the devs have their heads up their asses. clearly nobody thinks these auras are an improvement, why do they insist on bringing it to the live game after being tested negatively? un believable
What's worse is, I don't even think the aura changes were in the PTB...which means they pushed it live even before proper testing; and before you say it....I'm sorry - you can't convince me their QA team is a real thing that exists with the amount of bugs that get through them with literally every single patch that releases.

Lol, bet you unironically say "billy was the most balanced killer."
Well, if I did I'd have the majority of the community on my side. :D
What do you have? The survivors who couldn't loop him?
Go ahead. Jump.

@anarchy753 said:
"Nobody asked for a hillbilly rework."
Correction, you didn't ask for one. Plenty of us are very happy he finally got fixed.
He should have said "the majority of the community didn't want a Billy rework". Then he would have been right.
If you thought there was anything wrong with his base kit, you're just a bad player all around.
-
This is why this game (all games, really) should have a slider for UI size.
-
The hitbox is in part due to the dedicated servers. So the server side hit validation and tickrate increase that is coming should help a lot with that issue. So it's not really a hitbox issue so much as it is a latency issue.
-
It's not just Freddy. It's all killers and survivors aura reading.
Also, of course you 4k'd. It's Freddy.
If you're not 4king with Freddy, the next game you should play is called "How to uninstall".

Teach us the ways of your people. 😁
All you have to do is, if you have an Nvidia card, download the reshade filters (which are officially safe and supported), and adjust contrast etc to make the auras easier to see. Also helps with Blendette's on darker maps.
Can also be done on AMD cards, but they have to do it the old fashioned way with the Reshade UI instead of Nvidia Freestyle.
EDIT: DOWSEY did a tutorial for nvidia game filters here - you can use this to get the filters and either use his settings to tweak it to your liking:

Short answer: No.
Long answer: No.
It's in the same state it was before the patch. Sometimes you could hear, sometimes you couldn't.
