Nah man been reading through these posts even before I made an account seems more populated by killer mains and b landing nerd was unjustified it was the map design but I rather not talk about that because.thats besides the point.
You obviously haven't been around the forum very long, then. Every time there's a nerf/buff, there's an uproar from the portion of the community that it effects negatively. It's not even debatable. It's factual.
Issue is, killers seem to get the ######### end of the stick more times than not.

It is interesting survivors make up the majority yet the forums are infested with killer mains?
The forums aren't infested with one or the other more. It's a reflections of things happening. Like, when balance landing was nerfed, the forums were filled with survivors crying about it because it was unnecessary and was basically done as a bandaid fix for haddonfield making it situationally OP. Forums are filled with defensive killers now because Billy is being nerfed, when we all know nobody with a brain asked for it.

Just playing devils advocate here. Uno is a party game and they have competitive uno tournament's same with monopoly... 😂
Uno isn't based entirely on AI based RNG. So, that's not really a comparison.

I don't get the PGTW hate lately. This perk has been around forever and no complaints. Then it is suddenly a problem.
For matter, Devour Hope too. I was called sweaty for running Devour Hope. Huh? Not that I worry about a whiney complaint, but I'm quite curious as to how these things got to this point.
No complaints because it's just next on the Survivor Whine List.
They got ruin. Now pop, BBQ etc are up on the "let's whine about these" list.

It to a degree is..? The turning invisible does nothing unless you hold still..you only use it for the speed and lack of tr..the two arnt even comparible..wraith is a low mid killer with decent map pressure but barely any chase power , spirit is a slower killer that blinds herself to give her a moment to make a move on the survivors..she cant chase outside power like a wraith can and even if she could If that was the price she would still suck
Wraith main here. His cloak is far from useless.

Meanwhile...
Survivor: Dies.
Also Survivor: Double Pip.
RIP.

A direct tell would be good, IMO.
DOWSEY had a good idea on his stream. It would have to be subtle. Something you pick up with experience. Like, if you didn't know what to look for you wouldn't notice, but eventually you'd learn. Kind of like Myers with Tombstone.
-
My solution would be to firstly, switch the rarity of ebony moris with ivory moris. Granted, the REASON ebony's show up is because it's literally the only killer ultra rare offering right now (at least officially). But make Ivory mori's show up more than ebony's. That would be a good start.
Then, for the Ivory mori, make it so you can only mori one person after every survivor has been hooked at least once. Ebony mori, make it death hook only, but make it count as a sacrifice.
Cypress - base kit.
@Dsalter said:
yellow mori should be baseline tbh, thing is awful, green should be usable on anyone but only after 1 hook on your first kill and 2 hooks on the second, ebony should just allow you to kill one single survivor but without hooking, basically allowing you to force out one player.
make being mori'd reward a small buff of points for "taking one for the team", call it "putting on a show" award basically so if you are the ebony mori right at the start of a match you can at least get close to a black pip if you lead a strong chase.
No rewards for someone who got caught. That would be like a killer getting a "well, you tried" reward for each survivor who escapes.

unless the killer mind games you with iron maiden, in which case you out played yourself trying to dodge BBQ
BBQ can also be countered by being in range (which is a very generous range), or by using distortion. Iron maided is countered, completely, by calm spirit. Try again.

Omg i saw it on a youtube. Musta been annoying to go against.
Actually, it wasn't that bad, really. Still OP for sure, but looping a machine gun killer was about the same as looping any other killer today. We even had more pallets to work with back then (more as in, 2-3 times the amount, and many, many times with double pallets).
-
Perks being heavily used does not mean they need a rework, and this idea really needs to exit peoples minds.
BBQ and Spine Chill are fine the way they are.
Besides, if you change BBQ, there will be no killers left. It's the one perk in the game that makes the grind somewhat tolerable.
-
To be fair, you can blame the devs for that. They designed a killer whose optimal playstyle was tunneling. Like, so much so that it made no sense not to.

Because there are already a TONNE of posts where that can be done, and the OP made it clear in the first comment that they wanted the focus of this discussion to NOT be “but what about this survivor perk blah blah...”
What they said doesn't matter. When you make a post with this subject matter, you're literally just saying "opposing opinions and valid comparisons not allowed".

I never said I was against all the power/perk combos only one I have an issue with is stridor spirit because it actual makes her quite literally uncounterable. Dont assume anything and the reason I dismissed his opinion is because he *hardly* plays survivor not to mention he isnt even *good*.
It doesn't matter if he hardly plays survivor. This isn't about experience (which I have more of than all of you, again, if we're going to go there), this is about common sense. When your solution is "make it so this killer can't use this perk", it's SUPER FREAKING GOOD that you aren't on the dev team.
But if killers came in here and said "Make it players can't use DS/BT/Unbreakable together", you'd ######### all over it.

This is the type of thread that LITERALLY baits responses like that. How in gods name do you make a thread saying "this killer shouldn't be able to use this perk because it works too well with their power" and not expect people to make DIRECT AND VALID COMPARISONS TO THE ######### SURVIVORS DO IN ALMOST EVERY GAME WITH THEIR PERK SETUPS?

You need to play survivor more before you share your opinion.
I have nearly 4200 hours in game. More than half of it is survivor. Every character, survivor and killer, P3'd with all perks.
It's a stupid idea.
There, how's that for a valid opinion? Tell me a way my opinion isn't valid, even though it's not an opinion, it's just common sense.

i'm not arguing whataboutisms because theres no point in trying to compare two totally different sides. killer and survivor play two totally different ways and aren't even remotely comparable. its the same thing with keys and moris. sure they carry the same weight but they aren't the same and i'm not arguing them because theres no argument to be made
What you're doing is coming in here and presenting an EXTREMELY one sided argument, and literally saying "If you don't agree, I'm not acknowledging you". Knock it the heck off. This is a DISCUSSION forum. If you don't want counterpoints and differing opinions, this isn't a good place for you.

Well, if you really think about it... The Billy nerf is AGAINST survivors aswell. Now they have one less killer in the high tier pool. What is left? Spirit, deathslinger, Freddy. Every of then is more hated by survivor mains. This is a lose lose lol
Valid point. Everyone who wanted Billy nerfed has only made it worse. Instead of having a killer that's fun to loop, and easy to deny their power, now they'll get endless Spirit's, Nurse's and Freddy's.

I just said I don't really use it, the tooltip says NOTHING about procing through walls. So again, how am I supposed to know if I don't: A) really use the perk, even if it is meta. And B) The tooltip says nothing about procing through walls.
If I don't use it, and the tooltip says NOTHING about what it can and can't proc through besides that they have to be looking in your direction and within 36 meters. That doesn't indicate it works through solid objects. At all.
And again, you haven't mentioned a single perk that may "help with this."
Apparently we haven't been talking about Spine Chill this whole time. Which would literally do what you want by telling you if the killer is looking in your direction. Nope, "haven't mentioned any perks".
This just goes back to what I said about having eyes.

Even of a killer require Little skill to basically master him you can still lose and go to big troubles.
P.s.
Doc still require more skill than Bubba
^^^
Besides, even if there WAS an easy killer to do well with (Freddy lol), there is nothing wrong with a killer existing that is powerful but has a lower skill cap. Imagine survivors of all people complaining that the other side has a low skill cap. haha

Indeed. Like the previous person said. Play to win. In any way you see fit. If you need to camp someone out, or tunnel someone out of the game...well..."sometimes it be like that".
-
So, yeah. Farming is generally frowned upon, however the OFFICIAL stance is, farming is allowed as long as everyone wants to participate. Forcing/bullying someone into farming when they don't want to is bannable.

I've been playing this game for at least 3 years, over 1000 hours, I am not inexperienced. I barely use Spine Chill, thus not knowing what it procs through. I didn't know I had to be an expert on the game and know what every perk does at all times to have an opinion. And you still haven't really given any useful tips or information besides "this game might not be for me" and I should "use my eyes."
What are these perks that could be helpful? You haven't mentioned one.
Spine Chill is considered a meta perk. And you didn't know what it did. So yes, I question your experience.
-
The only ones who don't "tolerate" tunneling and camping are survivors. Fortunately, there are no rules that say you can't tunnel and camp. The devs have even said they are legitimate strategies.
Don't let survivors try to brainwash you with their survivor-written rulebook for killers.
-
I think it would be more fun to be notified when you're given a thumbs down.
-
The unnecessary gutting of Hillbilly because of survivors who suck at looping one of the most fun to loop killers in the game wasn't "for survivors"?

Also I literally also discussed some of the perks that may, "help with this" and how they might not actually "help with this." Someone has to be injured for empathy to proc, someone has to be closer than Empathy for Bond to proc. Aftercare is super situational, so is Blood Pact. Etc. Etc. You telling me to run OoO on solo q?I don't want to get tunneled to death. Spine chill might help, but I'm not sure it procs through walls, which is what most of the Midwich gens are located behind. Midwich (except for the Super Long Hallways of Death) has really REALLY bad LOS, which makes "using your eyes" a bit more difficult than usual on that map.
That's like saying for a killer to "Use their eyes" against a Blendette on Yamaoka. It's not impossible, but harder than usual.
Spine Chill procs through everything. The fact that you don't know that shows your inexperience with the game, and thus how baseless your suggestion is.
-
The only ones asking for Doc to be nerfed are those who aren't that good at survivor, really. He's only B tier, lol
@ClickyClicky said:
He seems a little too easy to use imo. Like when I go against a Doc in solo I know for sure we arent winning, even if the killer is mediocre.
He’s not as bad as Billy in that regard but I do think its a tad too easy for an average Doctor to be able to beat a team of average survivors. You really need a solid team to win.
Also - go tell Archdruid Drey they Doctor is easy. By saying that, you're saying he requires very little skill and timing. Doc is all about timing. You just have an issue with any killer that says "no, you can't just run in a circle and hur dur drop a pallet to loop me". Judging by your post history.
Nope, learning new things is no bueno.

@MonsterInMyMind said:

I mean im not saying its not a big deal but what im saying is as of right now there are just to many situations where the survivors are rewarded off bad play 2 seconds to free someone even if you are close that's enough room to either make it to a pallet or make it to a safe area the issue with the speed at which a survivor is freed is the fact you have to take into account map size trapper has little to no time in most situations to even get within the area to find that survivor it is a problem and should be looked into 2 seconds is just to quick with no downside to it.
I don't really think getting caught by a well placed can be considered a "bad play"; and by well placed, I mean in a spot nobody would see it coming. Plus, the amount of a times a team mate is NEAR someone who gets trapped isn't even that common. Even if they are, the second they hear trappers terror radius, they're leaving you high and dry, and hauling ass to the other side of the map.
-
@MonsterInMyMind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1470857#Comment_1470857
I agree with everything except your 2nd point a survivor should have more of a downside to trying to free someone from a trap as is its just to easy with little to no downside.
Again, the downside is if a survivor is helping another survivor get out of a trap, thats 2 survivors not working on gens. That's a bigger deal than you give it credit for. Plus, as I said, the killer is more than likely on his way to you.
-
@shanny_boi said:
You can already tell if the killer is coming just by being attentive and looking around with your camera.
-
- I get what you're saying about insta escape traps. That ######### is super annoying. But there's another side to that, as well. There's times where a survivor will be stuck in a trap for 30 seconds or more, no matter how many escape attempts they make.
- The downside to getting someone out of a trap is that you aren't working on a generator (thus, not doing the objective that allows you to live), and that the killer is, 90% of the time, about to be in your rectal cavity.
- Trap hitboxes...yeah. They're a bit #########.
- Extra traps - yes. I personally think he should spawn with all his traps. He's not like Hag where his traps are best used while placed mid-chase. His traps are best placed in a strategic, and premeditated way, and him having to walk around the map and pick them up gimps him badly.
- Rather than survivors being oblivious, maybe the Trapper just becomes undetectable when he's placing a trap.

Make maps with more than one floor have the heartbeat non-existent or muffled or something to give survivors some chance of knowing what floor killers MIGHT be on.
I hate The Game and I hate Midwich (and the Stranger Things map too I guess), part of the reason for that is it's so hard to not only find gens (diff topic) but half the time you don't even know when someone's getting chased which damn floor it MIGHT be on. Could be yours, could be the one above or below. You don't know unless you're running empathy and they've been hit, or running Bond and they're within range. I'm not asking for like 100% accuracy or anything, so the surv ALWAYS know they're safe. But something. Maybe the heartbeat is inconsistent compared to normal. Like instead of constant occasionally it skips a beat, letting you know they're nearby (aka under or above you) and you still have to be careful, but not immediately run.
Like I'd just like some small indication, some small way to possibly tell. Hell make it so distressing still makes the heartbeat like all stories or whatever, but please do something about omni-story heartbeats please.
There are perks to assist with this. And you have eyes.
This is unnecessary. The entire point of 2 floor maps is to keep you on your toes. If you, or anyone else REALLY needs this level of handholding, perhaps this isn't the game for you.
