I am totally in the mindset that their MMR values are reversed or something. This should not be a thing. @Peanits

I actually think they outright lied to us about the MMR. Wouldn't be the first time BHVR has been shady and dishonest with us.

I think they just opened the matchmaking to everyone.

  • 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid. 99ing the exit gates is stupid.

I can't say it enough. The amount of times I've died, or seen someone else die because some muppet 99'd the exit gate and RAN AWAY from it is insane. Gates should regress if they are not fully opened, to punish people who do this more harshly.

The ONLY correct way (this isn't opinion, it's logic based FACT) to 99 and exit gate is to 99 it, and STAY BY IT so you can be ready to open it if someone is injured and being chased towards it. If you 99 it and run away, you're a trash team mate.

  • Lock items as survivor as soon as they queue up. Easy solution.

  • @IIITweedleIII said:

    Solution:

Mori: There should ONLY be Ebony Mori. Active after 2nd unhooked status. Able to do this to all 4 survivors.

(It's only fair, 3rd time you're gonna die anyways)

Keys: rainbow keys are the Only key that allows escaping with 4 gens done. And only the survivor who Carrie's it allowed to escape.

(It's only fair, the other survivors didn't have it)

Mori: A better solution would be that it can be used after *everyone on the team* has been hooked once. Then at least it's not useless, and you have to work for it. Making the ebony on death hook only may as well just remove it from the game. With the change you propose, it should just be removed and put into the killers base kit. It's not worthy of an offering after that.

Keys: Change the Dull key to only allow one person to escape. Do not change the skeleton key. Instead, change the hatch so it only spawns with either one person remaining OR all the gens are done. If there's 1 gen left, and 3 survivors remaining, the hatch should not spawn. As I said, this would make keys still viable, but not overpowered, and still allow the 4 man hatch achievement to be done.

    Much better solutions.

  • I've played over 60 matches as Wraith (I'm at rank 1), and 4k'd literally every game.12 hooks and short chases, maximum of 4 gens getting done WITHOUT slowdown perks...and I'm still facing newbies.

So no. 20 games my fat pimply ass.

I have never understood the hate for TTV players. LIke dude most have 2-5 viewers and are chill, just streaming a game.

If you really look at the "anti-TTV" personality it is fostered by large streamers who used to put TTV in their names but now have a large channel. They literally used to be the 2-3 viewer guy, but now ridicule, mock, and avoid them while they stream. They dont want to give anyone any promotion so they dodge them in lobbies etc,....Its a way to bully and keep the little guy down like large businesses do smaller ones. People watch and want to be like them so they begin talking trash about "TTV players" - you can really see it in certain "clicks" of DbD streamers in this community.

The regular players who do it, learned it from someone else and have low confidence in their ability so they bring moris and tunnell you out if you have TTV in name so they dont get beat while on cam.

But go ahead, tell us how every TTV is trash and deserves to be camped out the game.

A lot of the time it's not about "not wanting to give free promotion". People like Hexy and ANGRYPUG for example explain it perfectly.

They just don't want that smaller streamer getting harassed or ######### talked if they screw up in the game, so they avoid the streamer. It's not about publicity in the slightest most of the time. It's about having a huge community and not having the ability to control everything they do. No matter how many times they tell their community "don't do that", there will always be bad apples. When you're Hexy or PUGs size in viewership, that's actually a lot of bad apples. It's more about protecting them than it is not giving them publicity.

Besides, the amount of times ANGRYPUG has sent his community over to a smaller streamers channel after a good game with them, and ultimately bringing them to tears because of the raid is insane.

You've got it all wrong, dude.

  • @zillamonsterz said:

Keys are also simple with a dull key only 1 person can escape with a skeleton key 2 people can escape

Better idea: Hatch only spawns with either 1 person left, or when all the gates are powered.

Then, change the keys so the dull key only allows one person to escape, and the skeleton key will allow the whole team to escape.

This way, it's way more fair, and the "whole team hatch escape" achievement is still doable.

Why is it everytime i encounter someone with ttv in their name, they are usually a toxic piece of #########. They either intentionally sandbag their teammates, dc when first down, almost always sends hatemail, etc....

Is it so hard to be kind

It's not necessarily the TTVers fault. For every toxic TTVer, there's probably about a dozen times they were mori'd simply for having TTV in their name, and doing nothing to deserve it. That particular toxicity isn't exactly their fault.

Most of the TTVers I have come across in my 4000 hours of gameplay have been pretty nice :)

  • I always wait to say anything during end game chat when I play killer. What I say depends on survivors reactions.

Sometimes I'll poke fun at their salt, like, if I played Freddy, and they call me out for playing Freddy, I'll act like what I did was the most skillful thing in the world. Because it's funny; and that's one thing salty survivors don't realize - LITERALLY nobody playing Freddy thinks they are good for playing Freddy (though, I typically run him with BBQ, Brutal, Discordance and Devour, so I consider myself a little better than your average Freddy when I play him), it's when survivors are salty about it that we get cocky.

Other than that, my generic response is to copy pasta the speech from the psychotic dude from Half Life 2 until they stop talking if they are salty.

You're aware Mori's were nerfed once before, right?

And what about NOED? Why is it that when a killer uses cheesy perks like that, it's called strategy, but when a survivor brings counter perks, it's unfair?

NOED? You mean the most counterable perk in the game that can be disabled before it's even able to be used? That perk? The perk that has multiple perks and items/addons that directly counter it? That perk?

    @LittilAvindar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1512940#Comment_1512940

And even a noob can run NOED and slug everyone in the end-game. Why is it that when a survivor uses counters to your insane perks, it's unfair?

And only a noob team will get hit by NOED being that it can be countered without the killer even knowing. Countered isn't even the right word. "ERASED" is a better word.

The "what about NOED" argument is trash, and always has been. NOED always has a counter. It can ALWAYS be countered, no matter what. It's even GLARINGLY obvious when a killer has it, even before it comes into play, if it even does at all. There are times when DS has no counter. Period.

    BuT WhAt aBoUt NoEd!!1!!1

You have zero chance of winning this debate if "what about NOED" is your angle. Get a pen and paper, write down some better ideas, and get back to me with a valid argument.

I didn’t say they were challenged implementing colourblind options.

I said they’re challenged coming up with colourblind options that cannot be abused by players without colourblindness that gives unfair advantages to those who have the colourblind options switched off.

And I said that if that were a concern, BHVR wouldn't have partnered with Nvidia to allow DBD to be used with Geforce Experience, and Nvidia Freestyle filters by association.

  • This is one of the rare cases where most people aren't blaming their team mates. In my experience, at least.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1514573#Comment_1514573

With all due respect it’s an immense challenge implementing a suitably adequate range of options for colourblind players that can’t be abused by players without colourblindness in a game where low/poor visibility is a key component to its horror themes and necessary for hiding purposes.

AAAAANNNNDDD they've had 4 years to do it. They can implement an MMR, the Emblem System, hundreds of cosmetics, hundreds of dollars worth of DLCs...but they can't do colorblind options, on an engine like Unreal 4 with the technology built in. Meaning while it's still work, it's not "an immense challenge".

Also - if anything you said was a real concern, DBD wouldn't be an officially endorsed title on Geforce Experience, and Reshade would be bannable. It's not.

  • Reworking perks doesn't make BHVR money.

  • @Mandy said:

They do care @Brady and hopefully they will be able to address that particular issue in the future.

FYI I'm also colour blind so I do completely understand!

The colorblind issue has been inquired about, even on dev Q&A's, since the release of the game, and nothing has ever been done.

    "They do care".

    Citation needed.

  • @Roobnus said:

The sad thing about this is that the playerbase is not leaving the game, that's why they can continue to release poor quality content.

Actually - the player base is leaving the game.

This is a game that had a projected sale of 200,000 copies, and has sold somewhere between 5 and 10 million. Why? Purely because this game has been carried on the back of content creators. The thing is, even their own Fog Whisperers are bored to death with the game, and feel taken advantage of (ask Ohmwrecker about that), and literally every single one of them has gone on record saying the devs *do not listen to anything they say*. As the content creators leave, the game will dwindle. But more content creators will step up and be drafted into the bogus advertising affiliate program called "fog whisperer" just to be on the same path as people like Puppers and Cahla, who have consistently expressed horrendous boredom with the game.

On top of that, if you look at sites like SteamDB or SteamCharts (PC being the lead, and most popular platform the game is played on), you'll see that while the player base has fluctuated in line with certain game breaking bugs, or DLC releases, it has remained, for the most part, relatively stagnant, and never hitting 100k. I actually don't believe it's ever even hit 80k. This is a tell that people are not only leaving, they are leaving about as fast as they are showing up. People buy the game, realize what it is, and how inaccessible it is to new players, and how much of an investment it is to get into the game now in terms of both money AND time, and just leave. It also goes to show that BHVR takes the community for granted, and more or less insults our intelligence on a constant basis.

This is all even with MASSIVE sales, free weekends, everything.

TL;DR - People are leaving, but people are also joining, and leaving INCREDIBLY fast. As shown by the relatively stagnant player base number since the game was released.

It has been explained before that it takes some matches for the skill rating to go into effect properly in that regard, if it's a new killer of if you have started a new game.

Then what was all that BS about "we're already gathering MMR data" we heard some time ago?

  • I don't think this is enough. This doesn't fix the core problems with DS.

It doesn't address the fact that if the exit gates are opened, and the person has DS, there's no way to outplay them other than hoping they miss the skill check. It also doesn't address the issue of DS being a "60 seconds of superman" perk.

I would add the conditions that if anything is done by the player to progress the game, DS is disabled. Not for 60 seconds. Just disabled until they are hooked again. It should also disable if a different survivor gets hooked. You are not being tunneled if you got on a generator or another survivor got hooked. Literally impossible.

    @HectorBrando said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1512702#Comment_1512702

Then the 60 second timer will go away, I dont see a problem. If the guy jumps to a gen and the Killer smacks again in less than 60 seconds then he really is getting tunneled, isnt he?.

And as I said, you can still smack them and throw them in the ground.

If they were being tunneled, they didn't have time to get on a gen. I don't think you know what tunneling means.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/179725/banhammer-in-action

Why would the killer playing Spirit mean it was more than likely the killer that was cheating?

  • Let's be honest. If the excessive grind and the devs outright refusal to remedy it doesn't scare new players away, nothing will.

  • I've had 53 matches over the last few days (I'm on holiday) as killer. Rank 1 killer, playing nothing but Wraith since the MMR came out (since I have the most BP offerings on bing bong). Started off facing potatoes, still facing potatoes; and not just like, "bad" survivors. Literally people won't don't know what they are doing and it shows. Running into walls constantly, not knowing where pallets are, constantly missing skill checks, slow-vaulting right in front of me etc. Just, new players.

  • Strong killer. Not fun.

    Seems about right.

  • Tunneling/camping isn't a thing.

I find it funny when survivors complain about "tunneling" and "camping" like sorry for doing my only objective in the game (killing survivors) the most efficient way possible by eliminating someone early. Is it my fault you can't avoid being caught well enough? The terms "tunneling" and "camping" are laughable and only serve 1 purpose which is as an excuse for terrible survivors when they get outclassed. Survivor mains only seem to know how to complain, it's not like we are the ones with the ability to run in circles and hit E to get some free distance to avoid the killer and act like we're doing something skillful while their 3 team mates hold M1 on generators.

    Untitled Image

  • This is impossible. Killers queues should be shorter according to BHVR in their infinite wisdom of the MMR system variety.

We all know BHVR is NeVeR wRoNg!

  • So, another second chance for survivors.

Hey, I got a great idea! Let's make the things that are supposed to allow players see things far away in the distance, and make them hard to see far away in the distance! /s

    Can't make this stuff up.

I mean, they took the aura system from the mobile version of the game...but far be it for us to expect the non mobile dev team to implement it correctly, like the mobile team did.

  • I'd personally like BHVR to be transparent with us (for once in their dishonest lifespan) and tell us they plan to reprimand their QA team for the garbage they tend to let get through their testing. The aura thing is just the cherry on the cake here.

  • If anything, this just exposes the problem with ranks.

That's it's too easy for survivors (and to a lesser extent, killers as well) to rank up.

I just don't see Kindered used enough which is a shame.

Kindred could also in theory be a soft-replacement for Spine Chill (unless you're using spine chill for vault builds). Generally it will tell you if the killer is coming after someone is hooked. Also an easy way to find out if they have BBQ.

My problem is I like killers who require skill to be good. That's why I love anti loop killers like nurse, huntress, and deathslinger they actually require skill to be good and being good rewards you. On the other hand though spirit, pyramid, doctor, freddy take a considerably less amount of skill to still be great anti loop.

While it requires skill for Deathslinger to hit his shots, it doesn't require skill to constantly fake your instant, no cooldown aim-down-sights in order to zone a survivor for free.

  • @ytduh said:

his perk just weak nou underrated

Detectives Hunch - How is a perk that counters one of the most complained about killer perks in the game (NOED, but all totem perks too) "weak"?

Tenacity - How is a perk that allows you to recover and crawl away much faster, that works BEAUTIFULLY with Unbreakable and Soul Guard "weak"?

The other one is very situational, so I'll give you that.

  • Not sure why NOED is on that list. NOED is perfectly balanced.

  • Also - detectives hunch works with maps.

I preach about that perk all the time as the perfect and direct counter to NOED. People say "it requires sacrificing a perk slot so I can't use DS/BT/DH/UB!!11111!!!!".

  • She's not OP. She's unfair.

Especially when running stridor. There's just nothing the survivor can do at that point other that be "outplayed" (and I use that word loosely).

A Spirit without stridor? Perfectly fine.

  • No.

If survivors are going to ######### and complain that "adding more time to gens would be boring", they don't get to ask for more time to be added to hook states.

  • Deathslinger I agree with mostly.

    Pyramidhead? Not so much.

If you touch a generator totem or if I hook another Survivor after your decisive strike is activated it should deactivate you aren't currently being tunneled you don't need an anti tunneling perk

Slugging doesn't counter it. Saying "just slug" is like telling survivors "just don't get caught by the killer 4Head".

Sorry, people have already clarified that! Is their a perk that you beileve is universally hated? Decisive Strike?

This isn't a thread about DS. It's incredibly flawed, and there are times where there is no counter and nothing the killer can do about it (which inherently makes it overpowered and broken), but this is a NOED thread; and being that it's the most counterable perk in the game (can be eliminated before it even comes into play with the help of MULTIPLE perks and items/addons), it's fine how it is.

  • I'm partially colorblind. I can still sort of make out the auras, but if I play Freddy, or as any killer on Ormond, auras are simply invisible.

This needs to be fixed by next week. This is abhorrent and never should have made it through their (non existent) QA testing.
