Most people complete the rift. The first one was a grindy but they are better now. Nobody is forcing you to pay for the premium tier - and even if you do pay for it, you literally get *all the auric cells you paid* back. Sure, some people don't play the game every day, or that much, but really, battle passes (like what this basically is) aren't meant for people who don't play often.
-
Imagine thinking you should get a second chance for failing to take advantage of your already unbalanced second chance.
This idea is horrible.

About Ghost Face, that isn't a design decision, you can look at him dead in the eye and still not reveal him, and sometimes you get revealed behind walls as Ghost Face...
About Ghost Saws, not sure if it is a latency issue, it's here for a really long time.
Oni just spins his camera around extremely fast when downing a Survivor, nothing game breaking, just disorienting.
That "issue" goes both ways. You can also be revealed by survivors who don't even have you in their line of sight. You can't stalk throug corn, but can be revealed through corn etc.
That being said, I never have issues revealing Ghostface.

The thing is, no one would disconnect if there were no ubertoxic builds. I mean, im gonna dc once I notice an ebony mori iri huntress, and you cant give me any reason not to dc. Its a toxic build, its boring and a waste of time, because either you're gonna be out of the match within a minute, or you're going to be missing 2 team mates within 2 minutes. Either way, there is no real way to counter it and those people are toxic as #########=
So tell me, if the law stated you're not allowed to harm or disobey the president, but the president used that law to torture you and say you are not allowed to leave. Would you still remain in place, let your president torture you to near death even though the exit door is right behind you? Ofcourse not. The rules are void if people abuse a loophole in the rules.
Besides, I was right, again. The dc penalty is worse for the game than the lack of dc penalty. And there is a base penalty anyway: if you dc, you depip and gain 0 bloodpoints. So the devs removed it, again.(at least, my latest 3 dc's against ubertoxic killers havent given me a penalty)
And ofcourse, you have people who abuse the lack of dc time penalty to avoid matches vs killers they do not like. However, that percentage is far lower than the amount of people who abuse the dc time penalty to torture survivors as much as they can. As long as killers act more toxic with the dc penalty in place than survivors dodge matches by dc'ing early in the match, the dc penalty can never be implemented the way it is now.
Again, like I said, I believe people should be able to vote if a dc was done maliciously or not. That would hold way more accurate results. I would vote against someone who dc's against a doctor just cus, but I wouldnt vote against someone who dc'd against ebony mori iri huntress for example.
Didn't read beyond the first sentence, cause your opinion is invalidated by the fact that you're wrong.
People disconnect for ANYTHING. It has nothing to do with "Toxic builds", and even still there's no such thing as "Toxic builds". These are things in the game. Only PEOPLE can be toxic.
Furthermore - if people only disconnect for "toxic builds", tell me, why, literally every other game since the penalty has been disabled, has someone disconnected on first down, regardless of the build? Last night, it happened 9 times, in 3 hours. 4 of which were with PIG, one of which was with Clown, and another with Wraith.
A few minutes ago I went into a match as The Doctor, RNG gave me Haddonfield, and as soon as I hit the first static blast, ALL 4 SURVIVORS disconnected. Without even being hit. On the most survivor sided map in the game.
"No one would disconnect if there were no ubertoxic builds" though. What a load of crap, lol

This is NOT about NoED. It's about the excuse "Do Bones".
I can guarantee you that I am more mentally exhausted repeating myself to people who can't comprehend something so basic that IT'S IN THE DAMN TITLE.
If it's about the term "do bones", then it's about NOED. There's no other situation where it's relevant. You don't get to separate them. And it's not an "excuse". It's the answer.
Don't gate keep just because your argument is as broken as Dwight's glasses.

Not to mention, its so boring, theres not much you can do other than try not to step on the snares, hope your pallet isn't about to punk you, or leave when the gens are on they're period.
I don't have any issues going against Freddy. They all play the same, lol

That perk needs a rework asap because it denies every stealth gameplay. It should only work on basic attacks at least and the range should be only 24m or rather 16m. You can instantly find the last survivor when the other is downed and he is near, it's just brainless trash and really bad designed.
Use Calm Spirit. If you're a stealth gamer and not using Calm Spirit, you're doing stealth wrong.
You don't get to complain about something "denying stealth gameplay" when there's a perk that hard counters it and makes it useless.
-
Get rid of perk tiers.
ALL they do is give a false sense or replay-ability to the game, or at least, that's what BHVR wants.
Really what they do is make the grind so ridiculous that the game is flat out inaccessible to new players from a time investment standpoint.

what? I don't think you fully understood what he was saying.
If you are getting chased by a Doctor after getting hit after a BT save, you have to mend. Running away keeps the timer from going down, but if he is still chasing you, you are NOT running the entire time, because that's not how looping the killer works. So his timer is going down, Doctor is hitting him with his m2, and he's now in t3 madness AND needs to mend. But Snap Out of It takes priority over the mending action.
The only solution here with t3 madness AND the mending timer is to find another survivor to mend you, because by the time you snap out of it, your mending timer has gone down because you're not running. And sometimes it's hard to find another survivor with only 2 of them left, esp. in solo
No, it's you and them who don't understand.
If you are getting chased, at all, the mend timer does not go down. If you are *in a chase* or *running at all*, you do not have to mend. The timer does not go down. If you're in madness tier 3, and NOT running *when he is chasing you*, you're doing it wrong. There are times to be immersed. That's not one of them.

Because NOED is a weak perk, and extremely counterable.
I find it hard to believe someone with experience still hates on NOED.

But they also made changes regarding "feedback"
Doctor got his stun after shock reduced from 3 seconds to 1.5 seconds, one unchecked infinite got fixed in the god loop patch, 2 of PHs perks got buffed and they made it so his cages were not as bad for tunneling and camping and most recently the perks, add-ons and powers of bubba and billy got changed and further tweaked based on community feedback.
You're arguing semantics here.
If you took a list of stuff they fixed because of "feedback" and stacked it against all the ######### they don't fix, there wouldn't even be a comparison.

Hand in hand =! the same thing. As I said, they are similar.
There's feedback, like all the stuff that gets reported in PTBs that makes it through to the final game and doesn't get fixed for months (or in the case of sounds, years). Then there's backlash, where a HUGE majority of the community came together and said "he idiots, leave Billy alone", making them backtrack on the huge nerfs for Billy, rendering his base kit basically the same as it was pre-nerf.

Unpopular opinion: I would be 100% fine with Iri head being one hit down...IF it acted like Hag's bodyblock phantasm addon. Meaning that it trumps all other addons. Meaning it wouldn't stack with any other addon, basically making Iri Head a "one in the chamber", and if you miss that one hatchet, you may have lost a gen or two.

Its far from reverse bloodlust. Once hit, killers lose bloodlust. Or they can transfer bloodlust and chase another survivor.
This Stamina system, the more u run, if u got into chase, it would be like Killer already have Bloodlust because ur Stamina already drop from running around.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1521404#Comment_1521404
For me, its not. Remember to keep 105 speed, they have to walk all the time to save their Stamina, incase they run into chase. And for that, it saves killers alot of time.
Example: if survivor1 in chase and got down, survivor2 runs close and try to flashlight save. That survivor2 already lose some of their Stamina
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1521928#Comment_1521928
I didnt explain through how Exhaustion perks can be used in Stamina system. Exhaustion status is removed (replace with Fatigue)
Exhaustion perks just need 30 Stamina to use it
Again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
-
Yep.
A few days ago.
IMAGINE being BHVR, and having one of your Fog Whisperers (it happened to multiple streamers if I'm not mistaken) be locked out of the game by hackers able to manipulate their DC penalties...and then disabling the penalty. They then let it sit for roughly a month, and do NOTHING, and re enable it hoping the hackers "forgot" or "got bored"...just for it to happen again.
BHVR in a nutshell.

They kinda are with the texture overhaul. It will completely change how some things function. Stealth might be stronger with the new textures. Maybe they'll change up LT walls or other loops. Maps will be overhauled.
Don't assume the company is doing nothing.
Remember the saying, "When you Assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME"
This is BHVR. It's more than fair to make assumptions based on their track record. There's no reason not to be cynical with BHVR.
As for the "graphic" overhaul - that's not a game overhaul. That's visual assets only.
Which was probably the last thing in the game that needed overhauling.

I got in a scenario where I had to mend. Because generators still had to be done and stuff. But snapping out of it caused the mending timer to go down. My only option was infinitely running around the map being unable to be productive until the Killer found me or I found a Survivor (keep in mind it was down to three, we didn't have all four anymore). Or attempting to snap out of it and going down.
I felt pretty helpless and had no really good options. I ended up just going down in a far corner to try and waste the Killers time.
The killer can only chase on person at a time. If you're being chased, your mending timer isn't going down. If another survivor is being chased, and there's only 3 of you left, then there's still another survivor who can help you. If there's only 2 of you left, look for hatch. If hatch hasn't spawned yet, it's because not enough gens were done and you didn't deserve the escape anyway.
You felt helpless because you put yourself in that situation.
It's not broken. At all.

I’m not saying the perk is entirely unbalanced. It just feels rough on Oni and Billy.
And again, infectious is only really good on killers like that.
But, as I said, it has a direct, hard counter that renders it useless.

Better, but at least a good temporary solution
You're talking about implementing a completely new mechanic. Again - wouldn't it just be easier to fix the map? It would be faster, too.
-
@Leonardo1ita said:
Big fences and big walls are of course designed for a purpose, and that is not to make every map feel the same. However everyone knows why Haddonfield is so broken, and here's my Idea: looking at a fence, you have the option to slowly vault to the other side. So even if it is like a vault it takes like 2,5/3 seconds, so unless it's like a really big wall it's better not to do it during a normal chase. This would solve a lot of problems, and make Haddonfield and big fences not so oppressing anymore
Or, the alternative idea - fix the map so you don't need things like this.
-
That's actually by design. You're not meant to be able to do anything except unhook a survivor when you're in madness 3.
I don't see why a counter to BT/Soul guard existing for literally one killer in the game is a bad thing.
Also - if you're being chased/running while not in a chase, the timer freezes. It doesn't go down. With "over 1000 hours" in the game, I'd assume you know that.
-
Everyone whining about Iri Head Huntress and comparing it to DS/Unbreakable - there is no comparison. Iri Head IS stronger, yes....but it's FAR, FAR less common. Iri head is FAR from meta, where as DS and Unbreakable are literally 2 centerpieces of survivor meta.
Not every killer is going around using these addons. Not even half of them.
Survivors on the other hand? DS and Unbreakable are 2 of the most used survivor perks in the game. So your logic is broken. Broken like the MMR system.

Not so much BBQ, more Infectious. The combo means they almost have map wide tracking, and a locker isn’t always nearby to avoid BBQ.
Infectious on these killers can be frustrating as solo because it’s not always easy moving out of the TR while they’re in a chase with someone else. So it’s the combo of Infectious plus their immense speed that’s problematic to me. A survivor is usually never further than a couple of metres from the notification if Oni or billy immediately head towards it.
Run calm spirit. You can't really call something unbalanced when there's a perk that negates it 100% completely. If you choose not to run that perk, that's on you.
@Sluzzy said:
Imagine comparing the synergy of two perks that counter tunneling and slugging to a Iri Head huntress with broken and unfair hitboxes.
We both know DS is rarely used to counter tunneling. It's most common use is to parade yourself around in the killers face because you're invisible.

More like "survivor complains about bamboozle because it prevents them from humping the same god window over and over again and it might actually require them to git gud at the game if they don't have that window's proverbial peen to ride".

bloodlust was made to counter infinites and they are no longer in the game
That depends on the killer.
There are legitimate infinite that would still exist with a 110 killer. The house of pain on Haddonfield/Badham for one. If ran correctly, a Huntress for example will literally never catch them there.
I would also argue that bloodlust should exist as long as Midwich exists in it's current form.
-
Likely not. You can't make money from overhauling your game to improve the games health.

"If the person is unhooked right in front of me." Attack the unhooker its not hard you can literally down them right after they finish the unhook.
"WHAT IF THEY HAVE DELIVERANCE!" Slug them.
"WHAT IF I HOOK 2 OTHER PEOPLE?!?!" Dude if you can find, down, and hook 3 people in under 60 seconds do you REALLY have to worry about DS?
Attack the unhooker, and reward them for unhooking in my face by letting them get safe unhook points?
Saying "slugging is a counter" is like saying "just don't get caught by the killer" is a counter to tunneling/camping.
It doesn't matter if I have to worry about DS. I didn't ask if I should be worried. I asked if I was tunneling; and it happens a lot to many, many killer. So, again, was I tunneling if that happened? Any answer other than "no" is wrong, and this destroys your entire "just don't tunnel 4head" narrative.
This survivor rulebook thinking reeks of entitlement.

Actually no, I'm countering the wrong and opinionated statement you made when you said and I quote "Or maybe you're just happy facing newbie survivors/killers because it boosts your ego." If you're honestly going to sit here and tell me that the people in those screenshots are newbies, then you simply don't get it. You also refused to accept that the screenshots I provided show that not everyone is affected negatively by this MMR.
The only thing you've proven is that you refuse to accept other peoples personal experience.
Again - you have proven nothing except that you think "I'm getting purple and red ranks in some of my games, MMR is perfect!".
Ranks mean nothing. Not even in terms of experience. You can literally get to red ranks in a matter of a couple days playtime, and it's not hard. Especially as survivor.
Your screenshots illustrate that. Many of them don't have full, tier 3 perks, and the tier 3 perks they do have seem to include things like self-care and spine chill a lot. Typical meta perks for survivors with a lack of experience. All you're doing is saying "Look! Red ranks! MMR is perfect and I'm still 4king!". No - you're still facing potatoes.
You lost this debate the second you used ranks as a measuring stick. Best stop trying.

I just had a Rank 20 huntress with Lullaby rank 1 and Unrelenting rank 1. They are new to the game entirely
The other 4 people were a rank 2, rank 4, rank 3 (me), and a rank 7 (We all escaped, there were only two hooks).
"Rank" doesn't mean anything is kinda bullshit, as it is at least is indicative of the amount of time you have spent with the game, and thus the overall 'experience' you have to work with.
They really need to adjust the floor MMR for new to the game survivors. 5 minutes for a game where you only moderately get stomped vs < 2 minutes for colossal stomp fests, the 5 minutes is probably better.
It's not, though.
You can get from rank 20 to rank 1 as survivor in a matter of a couple days. Same for killer. It's not an indicator of experience.

I really don't understand why killer queue times are so bad, like 20+ minutes. There's actually no reason for this, even if there's more killers than survivors. It would have to be like 10-15 killers per survivor for this wait time. There's another game I play, world of warships, where you have 10 tiers of ships, +2/-2 tier matchmaking, there are 4 classes of ships and each has a certain restriction per team, matchmaking tries to not put you into +2 tier matchmaking where you're fighting ships higher tier than you, and there's also 24 people per game. Even during non peak times, where there's only 3000-4000 people playing this game, you do not wait more than 2 minutes for a match. I just don't understand how you can have a game with literally 10x the population and have to wait 20+ minutes to match up 4 survivors vs 1 killer.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6XT53QB25S26/untitled.jpg
I don't understand the point of dedicated servers when you can't match people by region. Maybe it would be better if we could see how many players are playing each region and how many are playing survivor vs killer.
Because BHVR doesn't know how to matchmaking KEKW.

Meanwhile, all the Pyramidhead evidence was staring him square in the eye.
