  • They really should just open matchmaking completely. No MMRs, no ranks, just pit people against random people with the only filter being regional locations.

Sometimes you'll face good killers/survivors, sometimes you'll face potatoes. Who cares? It's a party game for god sake.

  • Improving game health doesn't make them money. Or at least not the money cosmetics and consistently pushed out broken DLC updates do.

  • I lost my legacy back in the day.

And no, I don't want people who didn't earn it to get it. Screw that.

  • NOED is fine how it is, though.

Even coordination will result in a trade with experienced killers - I don't care how good survivors are.

Again, though, rushing gens just isn't a thing most of the time. Trying to push that it is just makes someone daft, not valuable to the conversation.

This coming from a guy who called NOED, the most counter-able perk in the game, some sort of "safety net" for killers, condemning killers for using it; when it's their one, real "safety net" perk compared to the countless ones survivors have.

You're coming off as a troll. There's no other explanation. You're just an attempt at an elaborate troll.

  • Camping has multiple perks to punish the killer doing it.

    Borrowed Time

    Kindred

    DS

    etc

The game already actively punishes killers the longer they are near a hooked survivor.

    @ElusivePukka said:

Don't get me started on NOED.

It's so pathetic seeing even survivors saying "just do bones" while my fellow killers stagnate with such a bullshit safety net to boost them.

Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard (all exhaustion perks, really), Unbreakable, Deliverance, Styptics etc.

Killers have NOED. The most counterable perk in the game. That's their one, real safety net compared to the 90489485948545894859845948594854985489548959845894895489548954984589589489548954897589458949598459489598498589485949859848954985984985489598498589489548959845994889039043093423049540657845677439 safety nets survivors have.

Really reworking NOED would be the best. All campers have it. Making them realize they need to make an effort during the game rather than camp may provoke some of them into trying harder.

Camp and NOED will often grant 2kills at least. You shouldn’t get that for a zero effort playstyle

It is a legitimate strategy. As stated verbatim by the devs. Being legitimate however, does not make it a good strategy. It's punishable by survivors if the survivors aren't pepegas.

Err, I have no comment on your other statements, but FPS absolutely matters. If you think it doesn't, cap your FPS to 5 and get back to me on how good you're doing. While there are some diminishing returns the higher your FPS gets, there's a reason pro players of games will lower settings and resolutions to absolutely get insane FPS. It minimizes input latency and gives dramatically increased temporal resolution. That is to say that the information you get per second is far greater.

A simple example that anyone can relate to is a hatchet throw from the Huntress. If you have a low FPS, you have less time to react because the animation plays out based on time, not on frame rate. So if you had 30 FPS, you have half the time and visual information to react as someone who's at 60. You'll potentially see the hatchet "thrown" after it's already in the air, and its trajectory will be more choppy and less smooth. This applies to every action and movement in the game. All of this also applies to the Huntress trying to aim at you while your movement is all choppy and updated less frequently.

Toss hitching and stuttering that the consoles get on top of that and it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

You could argue that since DBD isn't a twitch shooter like Call of Duty that it's not quite as important, and that's true, but not so true that you don't still gain a huge advantage by seeing smoother, more reliable information and being able to react more quickly, with less input lag. The higher the tier of skill you are, the more this stuff REALLY matters.

That said, for the average DBD player on console or PC, it probably won't really matter all that much because I assume most people play for fun instead of getting top-tier ubersweaty. But if you're talking competitive, that FPS matters tremendously.

For what it's worth, all platforms have stutters and hitches right now after the recent update.

  • @Toybasher said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1496354#Comment_1496354

I play on PC and dabbled on the base-PS4 version.

PC players 100% have some advantages over console. At least on a non-pro PS4 the game hitches when status effects come up (like the killer whacks a dude with NOED or you got exhausted from dead hard).

FPS is really wonky. It's significantly easier to play with a mouse and keyboard when it comes to stuff like sniping people with deathslinger, trying to track a 360, etc.

    And console vs PC nurse.

Basically if survivors are going up against a PC killer many of the tricks that'll work on a console killer won't work as well vs a PC killer and vise-versa. (PC survivors will be able to easily bully console killers, etc.)

I don't think it will ruin the game, but the lack of optimization on console combined with the upcoming graphics update likely will hurt performance even more, and it's something to look into.

FPS is FPS. It doesn't really matter if that's the FPS you're used to. It's purely subjective.

"console vs PC nurse" is a nonsense argument. You don't have killer vs killer rounds, so it's irrelevant.

What "tricks" that work on console" won't work on PC killers?

How will PC survivors in any way have an advantage and be able to bully console killers? Controller survivors are in no way limited over mouse/keyboard survivors.

The only thing you have even remotely going for your standpoint is the optimization part, but thats not a PC problem. That's a BHVR problem.

  • @RavenTufty said:

Crossplatforming with PC will literally ruin the game. At least make it an option to turn crossplatforming off.

There will be an option to turn it off. But how will it ruin the game, exactly?

  • Typical BHVR.

10 million copies sold and they're still coding it like it hasn't hit it's projected sales of 200k.

  • You act like killers are using mori's every match.

Tell me, if killer mains use them every match, how do they have hoards of them in their inventories?

Spoiler: They don't use them every match.

    I'll come across maybe 2 mori's a day when I play.

Just to make one thing clear, we already have zero tolerance for extreme insults (e.g. racism, homophobic slurs, telling people to kill themselves, etc.). These people do not get warnings, they are banned without any hesitation. We have always acted on these sorts of reports. The issue is more so that there is no feedback on the reporter's side when action is taken: You don't get a message in-game letting you know that someone you've reported was banned.

Odds are if you've reported someone for that sort of thing, they were most likely banned shortly after.

I'll call BS on that one. I've seen people conduct experiments on alt accounts, and nothing has ever happened to them after countless reports.

Even EdgarAllenBro has outright said "you can pretty much do whatever you want, just don't DC from their game".

What exactly makes it worthy of being a Legendary skin? It has no unique animations or sounds and his appearance changes very little between normal mode and demon mode (the least difference of any of his skins, actually). I was really hoping he would get a uniquely designed Kanabo, but I'm disappointed to see it is the same as the rest.

I can understand more of why Lisa Garland was made a legendary because she is a completely different character and at least has a different lobby pose than Cheryl. But I can't see what makes the Oni worth the extra 500 cells. I think it should have been a very rare set.

    Right?

This is just another shameless money grab.

Like, for 1,080 AC, maybe I could understand...but it's not licensed, and what exactly makes it "legendary" enough to charge THAT much for a god damn skin?

Just revert your changes until you can have a version that is actually tested and proven to be a viable new system.

Yep; and you know what happens when people try to hold BHVR accountable? One of two things, either they get banned or the white knights come out.

  • That's only half true. Killers need it to actually see generator auras. It's literally part of their ability to patrol gens.

Survivors can actually survive without it most of the time, especially if they are SWF.

  • @Huff said:

To be honest the whole "we never intended to significantly change the way auras look" thing kind of rubs me the wrong way...

Are we supposed to believe that nobody noticed this during testing? Or, perhaps, that these features aren't tested? I find either one kind of hard to believe.

I'm right there with you. With the state *every single DBD patch* releases in, it's hard to believe that this QA team even exists like they say it does. It almost seems like a bold faced lie. If the QA team DOES exist, how they aren't fired at this point is a mystery...and if they ARE reporting these issues and they just simply choose to push the update in that state, that's just an ethics issue all by itself.

Look at this guy on a forum for a game he supposedly despises, yet can't stop discussing. Sounds big mad.

  • Ban survivors that farm their team mates and AFK on gens.

Since killers can't disconnect from the game without consequences when a group of survivors decides to genrush, making it impossible for them to play the video game, or decides to throw the game, resulting in a black pip at best for the killer without the intent on trying, they should be able to discourage this type of behavior by making it bannable.

    See how stupid that sounds?

What you're essentially doing is saying "Ban killers for creating map pressure by temporarily incapacitating a survivor".

As far as farming is concerned, farming is generally frowned upon, but it's allowed as long as they aren't forcing anyone to farm. If they force you to farm, then it's bannable.

So you're complaining that it's BHVR's fault that people are cheating?

Also, supposedly they fixed that in the new update.

    They did fix it, yes.

Also - t's fair to blame BHVR for that one. They left the information in LITERAL plain text in the appdata folders. That was as much a screw up on their part as it was people cheating.

  • Nothing of note, really; and no they aren't entitled to automatic pips etc if a killer DCs. Survivors don't lose pips, or bloodpoints if the killer DCs. They get everything they earned up until that point, and don't lose anything they already had.

When I play survivor, the only time (usually) I ever see a killer DC is if the survivors actually bring an offering for Ormond or Haddonfield. In which case, the survivors knew exactly what they were doing so they don't have any right to complain.

KILLER on the other hand...can flat out depip in red ranks if even on person DCs, cause that person just took away 3 hook events from the killer.

  • "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

  • That was an "addon pass". According to the devs, anyway.

  • I mean, you could argue they started this "rework approach" with Freddy, last year, and continued it with The Doctor, and kept going with Leatherface.

    Good changes, IMO.

Making them powerful, but also not impossible to beat. IMO the reworks have been far better than the new killers they have brought in since they started reworking killers.

  • Blibbity hibbity bloobity bloop.

With the dow hop diddly doo shlappa clappa moffa woogly.

    Shing shong, shamalama.

  • It seems dumb at first - but with the new MMR coming out, killers will have their own individual MMR. Meaning, if you're a god tier Nurse, you'll go against people of similar MMR, but if you're just trying to learn say...Trapper for example, you won't be put against death squad survivors. In theory.

  • I'll be okay with bloodlust getting nerfed/removed when maps like Ormond, Haddonpenis and Midwich don't exist in their current form, or maps like Torment Creek don't spawn a long wall next to an "i" loop next to shack, all in sequence.

A killer main defending what is statistically the most unbalanced map in the game. Why am I not surprised? It”s almost as if you have some kind of agenda 🤔

Its funny because I wasn’t even talking about the glaring unbalance. Its as dull as bricks as both survivor and killer. Once I can put up with it but if the game throws this trash at me 3 times in one night you best believe I’m either giving up on 1st hook as survivor or just facecamping as killer.

35 maps in the game and this one comes up more than any other map some nights. Yeah right. They need to fix their map selection.

I didn't defend it. I said I escape from it regularly.

Yeah, you actually can. That's what DC penalties are there to do, to punish you for not staying in the game. Every other multiplayer game not only punishes you for DCing or suicide (usually called feeding) or griefing etc. But they do so VERY harshly. Many games will suspend you from the game for several days or weeks for repeat offenders, moving up to permanent bans if people do it enough.

Why can't we do that here? You can't say "but you are forcing people to play a game they don't want to", because you are right, i am. You signed up to play a game of DBD the moment you hit that "ready" button. If you get into the match and you don't like how it's going, it doesn't mean you get to leave just because things aren't going your way.

And if someone full on DC's, they are penalized.

But if you're going to tell people that when they get hooked and see the rest of their team urban evading or self caring in a corner that they have stay and can't just die and move on to the next match? We're not your babysitter. We paid as much for the game as you did, and nobody but you owes you a good time for that money. Get off your high horse. You are wrong, you'll never be anything other than wrong in this. No matter how hard to try to justify your need for babysitters.

There is a difference between a DC and dying according to the rules of the game.

Can't counter? It's the easiest counter in the world: You're playing a team-based game with a team of other people. Intentionally ruining the game for them by quitting like a baby --by any means-- should result in punishment. Don't like it, don't quit. If you're such an incomprehensibly unhinged child that you can't put up with a match you don't find fun (a match you signed up for) for like 10-15 minutes then maybe this isn't the right game or genre of games for you. And the community would be drastically better off if all the quitters actually quit the game entirely rather than just whichever match they didn't deem personally acceptable.

And don't mic drop yourself, it's sad.

So, what you're saying is, I'm responsible for your fun.
