DS is a necessary mechanic to counter camping and tunnelling. If nobody camped or tunnelled you would hardly see ds used...
Regarding the proccing of 3 DS at the exit gates - if you were able to get that kind of momentum at the endgame - where was that pressure earlier on?

For some reason I thought this was gonna be a new bug that allowed Survivors to cleanse totems and get healed afterwards. I wonder how fast they would patch that out.

Make it so you can only suicide when 2 players are left and I'm all for it. Self sacrifice to give your teammate a chance at survival should be allowed.

I think he's supposed to be Hercules, and Hercules slayed the Nemian Lion, so I think they're trying to go for a more animalistic look with bushy eyebrows and a "mane."
I'm a fan of bushy eyebrows - its the fact that they're a completely different colour to the rest of his hair that kills me >.<

The opposite should actually be true. Because there are 4 survivors, a single mistake to an individual survivor should be more costly than 1 mistake to a killer.
That makes no sense. Its killer vs survivors. To be balanced you cant have one mistake = 1 mistake. If you actually want it 1v1 thats an entirely different game mode!

So you believe 1 mistake should cost you 3 generators while survivors get to make mistakes over and over and be mostly fine usually?
Its a 1v4 game. Killer mistakes have to be equal to, if not greater than, 4 times more costly than a survivor mistake. It is an asymmetrical game after all...

I love the concept and some designs but HATE the execution!
I dislike the Legendary Skins due to lack of customisation. I can understand it for certain ones like the Minotaur Oni due to clipping but the weapon should still be interchangeable. Legendary skins make no sense to me for the survivors (maybe Janes dress?) but not allowing you to easily sway hairstyles is just idiotic to me.
For a final not - what is up with Davids eyebrows?!?!

I just had a game against a hag. She brought an eboni mori and DH plus an UR addon and a purple addon. She got 0 kills and DC'd as the last two were leaving.
There was no toxicity. She just came in with her most toxic build and we had 4stacked cakes.
(On a note she had DH and MYC but wouldnt have gotten a single stack because she camped. Some killers just like to make survivors miserable and cant handle it when it backfires)

One of the biggest weakness of swf is extreme altruism. They want the happy end to the horror movie where all 4 run towards the rainbow at the end. This is also the reason that swf don't have a statistically higher Wingate compared to solo (atleast in my mind).
This is why as a killer I enjoy going against SWF - they bomb the hook before you can even move away and feed you 4 easy hooks when you'd normally have to work for one.

If I'm not mistaken, a little while ago some guy did a test of like 100 matches and ended up concluding that perks like Adrenaline and DS, were used in almost every single match. Wasn't it in like the 70s or 80s as far as usage at high ranks?
I'm not even saying DS should be nerfed. But it does show that sometimes these perks aren't looked at in the same light and I wonder why.
One persons experiences does not account for full representation across all games.
The most used survivor perk was Self Care which I think every killer is happy to see survivors bring!
As for Ruin - it was found to only effect new players significantly and barely noticed by veteran players. It was also a passive perk that would work consistently without having to do anything.

It's not that every team is a pro depip squad, its that SWF inherently gives a massive advantage to the survivors even if its just two people. Those two SWF are able to communicate better together, which in return benefits the other two survivors on their team.
If it is a 3 man or 4 man SWF group the advantage is even bigger. Every argument defending SWF is always this; its just friends wanting to play together, not every SWF is a try hard pro group, solo queue sucks, killers just want an easy win.
However that is exactly what most SWF enthusiasts want, an easy / easier win. They don't want to play solo queue the way the game was originally designed around, they want to play with their friends which is fine, but don't pretend its not 100% easier.
Why is it that when a killer asks for a full solo queue game they get bashed on saying they just want an easy win, or they need to get better, but people never address the same issue for SWF. They don't want to get better individually and want whatever advantage they can get over a killer to win a majority of their games.
I play SWF and solo evenly. When I play with friends we dont use comms to act like a military squad. We know how we play together and how we all play. Theres no need to communicate about movements and quadrants, etc. We just play the game and we play well. All we use voice comms for is to roast eachother and call eachother crude names - like real friends do.
When I play killer I actually prefer SWF - you might get the occasional toxic group but largely they are overly altruistic douches that rely on their better friend to carry them. They tend to throw themselves at the hook for their friend or hide in lockers for half the match to get one head-on stun. SWF = easy mode for me as killer.

Let me guess, you only play survivor in SWF?
This game wasn't made for SWF, being in a SFW is a massive advantage. Its why so many people never play solo because why would you if you just wanna win?
It's not going anywhere but it is basically cheating with no exaggeration its that much of a benefit
"This game wasn't made for SWF" this is false.
The devs have said time and time again that SWF was planned from the beginning. The only reason it wasnt available on launch was due to time constraints.
If SWF is removed/nerfed then SWF will just spam regular queues until they find their buddies. No way around it. Just deal and move on.

You can't tell me this isn't abusing the system. They were SWF. And I see a lot of this.
Thats a matchmaking issue. Not a SWF issue.
Matchmaking, if working as intended, would have had that group facing a rank 1 killer.

The reason for DS not having an "aura" is so when survivors dont have it the killer wont default to tunnel without consequences.
I would go so far as to say every game should have an obsession regardless of perks brought in.
Also, survivors dont get a NOED prompt until someone is downed with it active...
Survivors should always play as if NOED is a possibility. Similarly, killers should always play as if DS is a possibility.
-
I've done this to try and help also. If I've been left to get into struggle, at least one person is dead and another is downed on death hook I will suicide to give the last person a chance at the hatch.
Othertimes I have to admit doing it in spite of a "teammate" who screwed me in someway.

It does not cap at 100%, that's just We'll Make It that does. It used to stack with itself so you could at some points heal faster than the killer can attack. But Flower still stacks with it.
He's right - they capped it for that reason.
The only question is why they didn't cap slowdown so the likes of forever Freddy could never happen
-
My survivor games are instant (almost)
Killer has an ungodly queue for me right now.
i think it's both that crowns are far easier to get on killer than survivor, and killers getting more BP during events but idk...
-
I think its fine.
Dont tunnel and you wont notice it exists.
If youre not tunneling and you still somehow encounter it - you're pretty much destroying the other side so a 5sec stun isnt going to slow you too much...
-
I'd be against it. F13 has it and its horrible. Either people blast their horrible taste in music directly into your eardrums or you get 11year olds screaming for their lives. It would kill me if DbD implemented it...

Keys may be used once but can allow four survivors to escape, completing the survivors goal early.
Moris may be used more than once, and they complete the killers goal early.
Keys reward people who can't play well enough to escape normally. Same with moris. If you don't see that both are unbalanced and are comparable then you clearly main survivor.
The only thing I can agree with on your comment is the change you'd make to an ebony. Killer does well and doesn't tunnel, they get their mori.
If four people are escaping through the hatch its not really all that early. All gens would have to be done...
The only issue I have is that a mori used early can swing the whole game to an easy win for the killer. Keys cant be used "early" they can only be used after a certain point.

I understand some addons are crap. But comparing killer addons which are supposed to be 4 times as powerful as survivor addons to survivor addons and then complaining that survivor addons aren't as powerful in comparison is ridiculous. This is an asymmetrical game. If survivor addons were as powerful as killer addons the game would be even more of a survivor sided joke than it is now.
However, I'm fully in favor of some kind of system that allows you to toss 3 addons/offerings/items you don't want into an RNG generator for a new addon/offering/item of the same or greater rarity. Some killers have addons that are even crappier than any survivor addon.
I''m in no way advocating that survivor addons should be made 4 times stronger. But if, as you say, they are 4 times weaker - should they not then be 4 times cheaper?

Starting with the release of the clown in 2018, everything started to go awry, they introduced a lot of cosmetics, then it was bearable, Rin later came out and from that moment the game started full thrash, a lot of bugs, the outputs of the dubious chapters the players tolerated this and continued to play. In 2019, they introduced dedicated servers that ruined everything, destroyed all the timings, added hits “per kilometer”. In January 2020, the nerf ruin comes out, this finished off the game for maniacs completely. The game turned into a garbage can. It became impossible to play: a lot of donatas, chapters of the same type, dubious nerfs. Developers stopped listening to experienced players: developers began to listen to stupid beginners, for whom the game was too complicated. In 2016, there was another development team that tried for the players, and not as for now only for money. I’m sure that after this post I’m most likely to be banned. It's time to start taking some measures, making strikes so that the developers understand that many people like this game but they are forced to get away from tons of bugs, chapters of the same type and, most importantly, terrible balance.
What are donatas?

Spine chills... Is what I said. It effects GF,pig, myers, and I believe wraith too, but I'm not for sure. And killers w small TR that run monitor...
I'm aware you said "Spine Chill rework" but that didnt make any sense to me. The only change to Spine Chill I can think of came in patch version 2.6.2 which standardized the range of all tiers to 36 meters. I assumed you referred to the "Undetectable" interaction with it in patch 3.3.0 which affected jumpscare Myers? If not then I have no idea what "rework" you're referring to. Can you elaborate?

@Dehitay said:
Survivors not using any bloodpoint bonuses seem to average about 13,000 bloodpoints per game. This alone should be enough to afford an item and offering per game. But if you're truly struggling, you can increase your bloodpoint gain significantly by running WGLF, tossing on a bloodpoint offering, and possibly running Prove Thyself if you need even more. If even that's not enough, you can bring Plunderer's and Ace in the Hole into the game to just give you free stuff mid trial as well as allow you to keep your addons when you leave the trial to stock them up.
If you're a killer, it's really not that hard to average 25,000 bloodpoints per game without bloodpoint bonuses if you're specifically playing to get bloodpoints. And I think most killers run BBQ which doubles that meaning the majority of the bloodweb per game with just that one perk.
I don't see how anybody would be struggling to bring a loadout into the game unless you're the type that only uses greens, purples, and reds and can't keep up with bringing those into every game anymore now that survivors lose addons.
The main issue I have is that the majority of the addons arent worth the cost now. Even BNP dont seem to do much (esp compared to what they were), some key addons are a nice bonus but again, not worth the cost and likelihood of being tunneled regardless of key quality.
While I do like that its balanced between killers and survivors both losing their addons, I feel that killer addons actually do something but survivors dont. I think the addons need to be re-evaluated (be it cost, rarity or function).

I thought they did show the top 5 most used in all ranks at least in the one collection of game statistics I know of. For ranks 1-4 the top 5 most used perks where Selfcare 13.59%, Deadhard 9.90%, Adrenaline 9.66%, Borrowed Time 8.42% and Iron Will at 5.49%.
Which is one of the reasons I'm always confused when Killers say they run into DS so much when it's not even in the top 5 most used perks. I mean is BHVR's stats wrong? So even with DS being a strong perk if Killers are running into it under 6% of the time I'd imagine it wouldn't be too much of a problem or breaking many games. But I'll genuinely admit maybe it's me and I just don't understand what I'm reading when I read the statistics.
I think a lot of it includes situational bias. If you're winning and nobody has DS you dont care. If the game is going south and a killer thinks "if I tunnel this guy out I can pull it back", only to get DS'd from it - you remember it a lot more and get bitter over it.

Survivor mains will never agree, and they'll fight till the death swearing killers are still OP and have the power role. It's really sad what's become of this game. Ever since the spine chill re-work, you can't even jump scare people anymore and stealth killers got there ability ruined.
Wasn't Tier 1 Myers the only killer negatively effected by the undetectable change? I think all other stealth killers got a huge bonus from it (esp versus OoO users)

I was sitting there mid match, asking my self...am I having fun? What part of this is fun? Even when match making puts me up against people I should and not just survivors who are clearly better than me who just stomp and mock me at the end game chat...am I having fun? No. No I am not, this game isn't fun. This game is just frustrating. I asked my self. Why am I still playing.
sunk cost fallacy. That is why I am still playing. I had gotten in a cycle where I started all young and baby faced enjoying the game. But over the hundreds of hours I sank into it, I became invested, even long after it stopped being fun.
I tried going to survivor, but playing Survivor as a Solo is almost as bad as playing Killer. But for totally different reasons.
I was so ready to give up on this game, but then you released a killer that was totally up my Ally. A ######### Cowboy! I love Cowboys, the wild west over all. The map looked awesome and the killer looked fun. He was...for about three matches. Then all those warts that ruin this game that you as the Devs say are intented to be there and to be frustrating started to show up again. So congrats Devs, I just can't muster playing this game anymore.
It is to the point where if I'm not high or drunk, there is no enjoyment playing this game. Which isn't a good sign as being high or drunk can make most things enjoyable. So you got one more DLC worth of my money, but never again. I'm going to be weening my dependency on this game until I can just uninstall it and never come back. Because you and I both know...you aren't interested in fixing the problems the community has with this game. At least Blizzard as ######### as they are can pretend to like and respect their community.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
Blizzard like and respect their community? Blitzchung would like a word...
In all seriousness it sounds like you do need to take a break. Be it a few days or a few months. If the game isnt fun for you anymore you really shouldnt play it. I hope you feel better and come back to the fog once you've rested up!
-
I mean it hasnt been that long since the ruin change and even then we've since had nerfed toolboxes.
Its not as easy as just add 10 seconds to gens. Ideally one survivor is on the hook, one in chase, one going for unhook and one on a gen. If you end up with a second down before the unhook things will steamroll. And when one survivor is dead things snowball into the killers favour very easily.
I do think changes need to happen but blanket gen speed time increases will not help. They have already said they are looking at maps and are bringing changes to them (Badham, Lerys, etc) but to expect an easy solution such as just flipping a switch is not acknowledging the complexity of the situation.

Acceptance is the first step and I'm glad you're able to be honest.
I never said they stacked though - in fact the devs have said thats one of the reasons for the Hex:Ruin change - it was too much when stacked with other slowdowns.
Some slowdowns which have came out since the game released include, but are not limited to, Thanataphobia (paired well with Sloppy Butcher or Nurses Calling), Dying Light, Overcharge, Pop Goes The Weasel, Corrupt Intervention, Thrilling Tremors, Surge, Dead Mans Switch, etc.
I mean you could argue about Overwhealing Presence and Lullaby but even without getting into that those are 8 slowdown perks added since release. As opposed to what, zero gen speed perks added to survivors since release?

If you are referring to Freddy ADDONS they were nerfed, if you are referring to dying light that boosts obsession and goes away on death..... I mean what are you talking about? Oh I got it... PGW Yup that’s it. Wonderful perk that if you can’t down a survivor quickly is entirely useless. Get off your survivor main and play killer
You obviously dont know how dying light works - it doesnt boost obsession repair speed... Only boosts unhooking and healing other Survivors.
I'm not going to list every slowdown perk introduced since launch (hint its at least 5 depending on what you consider "slowdown perk")

DS is not necessary, ever, you don't need it to help you solo, you don't need to use it at all.
I don't understand this at all, I seem to play fine without it, so clearly a huge gap exists between people who use DS and me being honorable to the killer, no matter how they play
DS is brought for two reason that you as a player cant control in solo queue: The killer is tunneling or your team is farming. No matter how good a survivor you are you cant control if you get tunneled off the hook or farmed in front of the killer.
I've had many games where killers say in endgame chat "no DS = ez tunnel". At least on DS is necessay in all games...
-
I mean what have they done to change gen speeds since release thats bothering you? Other than ruin (which in my opinion is actually better now than it was before - but i still hate hex perks as they're too unreliable) whats actually changed? They've added gen slow down perks and nerfed survivor items. I really dont understand where this sudden outcry about gen speeds is coming from...

I'm already playing the killer for BP right now and I'm on my BP sets but be sure I don't enjoy it at all! Legion used to be like a time bomb. Now, every Legion-seeing survivor is making the tbag. Especially when we missed the feral frenzy, we swallowed the pill for 24 seconds! There is no build left that I haven't tried, Feral Frenzy is useless, because they are recovering immediately.
I typically rely on Feral Frenzy to find survivors - and "mending + healing = time not on gens". I never expect it to get a down...

In the Otz video, a generator repaired every 27 seconds. So how many seconds did this match be repaired? 15-20? Playing Survivor is fun, but playing killer is not fun, especially playing with Legion, who is dead, is no fun. But at least I was able to get 1k here. I was successful in the room heavy tunnel. The only reason I leave afk is shard.
This would be matchmaking working as it was intended (+/-6 ranks of your own).
Deliberatley trying to go to rank 20 when youre capable of reaching rank 9, at the least, is a tad bit scummy...

To be honest I'm starting to think showing SWFs at the endgame screen would help.

Your key change seems, to me, to only nerf solo survivors and would make no real change to SWF which is where the majority of key complaints come from...

Okay so here is the thing, I know for a fact two things.
One: Passive aggressive insults are almost never ever punished, so most people that want to be toxic know that as long as they do that they will never ever be punished while still tilting the other people- which is exactly what they want so that is what they will do most often.
Two: Reporting DOES work if they are saying actual slurs, or spouting obscenities as insults and things that are much more clear. Thing is it takes a LOT of reports, or someone to get so upset they make a ticket about it and provide all the requested info showing it all in action.
Three: A lot of people, like I know who that streamer that Scott Jund made a video about; actively don't say toxic things in game where they can be banned. They comment on people's profile, shoot off on their stream, or even go as far as to their other social media if they can get that info so I suggest making all that as private as possible so they can't. The only comments they make will be the passive ones in game like I mentioned in my first point, but all the slurs and such will be on steam because they know BHVR will not act on things from other platforms.
Trolls are not stupid, they know what they can get away with and what they cannot. They push the limits and if they ever do get banned it's just for like a day and they know to dial it in just enough to avoid another one, but still try and make other people feel bad.
Sorry if I was unclear: I do not really care about insults/name calling/obscenities or any childish behaviour like that.
The issue I have is that he was cheating. Admits to cheating. And acknowledges that he has cheated in the past. Has been reported/recorded "100's of times" and nothing seems to happen...

Steam issue. All purchases are down on Steam. You can still buy with shards though.

I just had a game where a wraith tunneled everyone off the hook. He only unstealthed at the end of the unhook so BT wouldnt proc.

Killers like this is why DS is so prevalent...

Why would the killers be trying to entertain a lesser power?
A lesser power? You do know that the Entity pulled everyone into the realm for different times and dimensions, right? And it literally created the world in which the game is set? And gave basically all the killers, except the licenced ones, their abilities and powers. In what way is the Entity a lesser power?!

That would work too I just like the idea of the offering because no matter what you get extra points when you’re the obsession
I'd also be cool with it as an offering.
I'd also like as killer to have a shroud offering for survivors to start together. I love when survivors DC or suicide because they assume a mori, where in actuality it's a shroud.
