Uh-oh, someone got destroyed by a good Trickster.
Honestly, you're complaining about one of the more balanced killers in DbD. He has the same weaknesses as Huntress, and like her is very map dependant.
Trickster is a low mobility killer and struggles with gen pressure on large maps, even more so with indoor maps or maps that have high walls.
Trickster's knives aren't unlimited, in total he can carry 44, 48 Max with add-ons. His movement speed also plummets when throwing his knives, again without add-ons. During "Main Event" Trickster drops to his slowest movement speed, even with add-ons to make up for the loss of speed, he gains accuracy. To counter this, just break his line of sight. The "ricochet" you're talking about is a purple add-on called "trick knives", as you noticed, they bounce, hence why theyre called "trick knives". 😉
Honestly all your complaints are just "he's a faster version of Huntress!" Which is the point, Trickster is DbD's version of an SMG, while Huntress is a Sniper
Now for some tips on how to best Trickster: Tricksters lullaby is one of the easiest to hear comming, next to Huntress so if you're having trouble hearing him, use headphones/headset, perks that show the killers aura. If youre still having trouble, you might need to get your hearing checked irl. I had to do that recently, there's no shame in it.
Tricksters knives are very easy to dodge, main event even more so. Always try to loop him around tall structures or lead him into buildings where it's easy to beak line of sight, once out of sight and if you're lacerated try to hide don't just hold W and hope for the best, because the laceration meter won't decay until you stop moving.
Again, Trickster is very map dependant. Take advantage of your surroundings.
its actually 56 with add ons
He has a green add on (+8) and a brown (+4)

SoloQ can be a challenge but I just don't see this side that people go one about. How it's unplayable, you never escape etc.. I'll concede my escape rate has dropped slightly and it does need a little love but I'm not going to say it's rubbish just because of this. I still escape enough and for the most part enjoy myself.
I know how it goes. I'll say this and people will tell me I'm wrong. Just saying what I personally experience.
Oh I'm not saying its completely unplayable, how ever you're able to get away with a lot of things you otherwise wouldn't have because of Solo Q. Its basically 2 different games going against a full team of randoms and a full premade. Same goes for killers, its an entirely different experience going against a Trapper with non meta perks and brown add ons and a Blight with a full meta build. Both sides have extremes that differ from each other greatly and they absolutely need to be addressed. No matter how experienced you are on either side you never know what you're going to get, and thats thanks to MMR. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I'm being paired/matched with people who I DEFINITELY shouldn't be.
-
People really out here thinking this a troll post/its fake
I see it as 100% plausible considering the state of Solo Q right now and how ######### MMR is

Do people purposefully ignore the issue here or are they genuinelly dense.
Losing because you lack skill isn't the problem. The other team using every tool in their arsenal to get on your nerves so it's easier to win is the problem.
I'm all for losing matches if we all have a pleasant experience, but if people turbo-flashlight my ass or teabag me to annoy me because that's their concept of "fun", that's where I draw the line.
I've won matches against teams like those and still I find them the worst experiences I've had in the game. If I could exchange a 20% win rate for a life not having to face asshats, I'd take it on a heartbeat.
But then you say you want ######### banned and of course they come out of their holes like cockroaches and immediately go like "I think you're taking the game too seriously lol". No, man, I just started the game to have fun and someone decided to bring psychological warfare as if their entire worth as a human depended on winning that match.
I mean eventually, you build up a tolerance to it. If you really think about it, you are getting mad at a videogame character who never missed leg day and has an amazing trigger finger
So when you really don't care about it, they're just putting themselves at a disadvantage and wasting their own time. Hell I find those games to be fun af because there's absolutely 0 down time. Theres always something going on and its funny af watching them screw up occasionally and freaking the ######### out

I see Dead Hards every game.
Just like you "Killers on the other hand is still the same old #########", for sure survivors are on the same page.
Yeah I see Dead Hard pretty much every game too, but Im actually getting some perk variety now
Power Struggle is something I actually have to worry about now, Lightweight can actually make me lose some one, I saw a Lithe/DWM combo the other day, something I havent seen in years. There are just so many perks being ran now that I actually have no idea what some one is running when chasing them. Its not just DH/DS/Unbreakable/BT, and maybe an Adrenaline or Prove Thyself if theyre feeling quirky.
Killers got more diversity as well but for the most part its still stacking gen regression. Only difference is you have to some what go out of your way to get it activated now (Eruption, CoB, Overcharge and Pain Res)
Over all the game is a lot more enjoyable, just Solo Q that needs some attention

You would say that. But look at what most of these killers can do. If they don't have any anti-loop, like Legion or Ghost Face, they have to play the M1 game, which isn't very reliable. Can't mindgame pallets and windows that take away the option to do so. Doctor's shock: you can hitt them after 1 shock or it could be 8, plus their connection is favored. Hag and Dredge's teleports aren't instant as they should be, so they mostly have to almost play the M1 game. Demogorgon, Twins, or Wesker misses once with their power, the entire chase resets, and no true anti-loop for any of them. Meanwhile survivors can take away your hooks, block as you're about to down someone, flashlight save, heal up real quick in a boon, and tbag behind pre-dropped pallets and god windows. These are all actions that waste or undo an arbitrary amount of time the killer spent just to get the survivor one time. I think y'all just like to cry skill issue as a way to destroy character, so that you've 'won' the argument before it's even begun, because whatever the person says, "They don't know what they're talking about anyway."
The reason why we cry "skill issue" is because we quite literally dont get bullied. I have been in the past when I was a newer player, but over the years Ive been able to deal with it. Cant even remember the last time I was "bullied". What I can remember how ever is the last time a group attempted it when I was playing Trickster and they got absolutely bodied. They went into that match clickin, t bagging, and attempting all sorts of crazy stuff, only to call me a "boring killer" in the endgame.
TLDR: We "cry" skill issue for a reason, nothin complicated about it

The way I thought time limited cosmetics meant was in the form of an Event, something like obtaining Davids Untamned Donkey Jacket, Huntress' Hound Mask, Kate's Free Songbird Shirt or Billy's Pro-Pain Hammer. Which I was all for, I love showing off those kind of things to show how long Ive played the game
But time limited locked behind a paywall? Come on...

He is not wrong with "Second Chance VS Gen regression (using different perks for the same end goal)"
I play the game actively since 2018, no breaks.
I mean there will always be a meta, but you see A LOT more diversity in perks nowadays for the Survivor side
Killers on the other hand is still the same old #########, at least now the killer has to go out of their way to get the effects of the perks tho. Unlike Pop or Ruin which were pretty much passive effects.

Luckily I started off as a Trapper main, and the early days made catching people in bear traps MUCH easier because you were able to shove them in terrain a lot more than you could now. It also helped that the old grass covered them up pretty well

It honestly would. Atm they only need to pay for the hacks and even if they get banned they can just use another epic account. If instead they had to buy the game again and again it would dissuade a lot of people
@Marigoria said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3221892#Comment_3221892
Really would tho. Most of the hackers I’ve came across are from Epic, and we all know how they’re able to have so many accounts even after getting plenty of them banned.
Just the other week a Epic Games hacker was streaming and was already banned 9 times JUST during that stream.
Kind of like how Steam just needs to family share to basically have infinite accounts?
You do realize that cheaters were already rising before DbD was added to EGS. If they were to remove it from EGS all that would happen is they would simply move back to Steam. Even if they were to fix the family share thing people could still buy the game for as low as 3$ thanks to key resellers, and trust me there are people who have way more than 3$ to spare who are ready to ruin multiple peoples days
It really aint as simple as "egs gone problem gone"

Yknow theres such a thing as burnout. Theres not a thing in this world thatll keep some ones full attention and give out the same amount of joy/entertainment for the entirety of their journey
No ones forcing you to play the game, I have plenty of games out there that I used to enjoy very much that nowadays I dont see myself playing it all that much. These are games that Ive poured hundreds and even thousands of hours into, and yknow what I did? I found something else.
Ive enjoyed my time with DbD for the past 5 years and it has been my main game for all that time, and while I do find myself enjoying it still, I dont get the same enjoyment I did a few years ago. Is that because the game is worst? No, its because Ive spent over 5000 hours playing it.

Pretty sure they always meant no exclusive items like those event codes that could be sold for horrendous prices by scammers.
they always left legacy Outfits exclusive after all and pretty much introduced event exclusive items right after as well as left charms exclusive
they stated they gave out last event cosmetics because many people who earned them lost them and their system couldnt reliably track who actually earned them rightfully but they overhauled said system
i think that last part is BS, considering its the same thing for Legacy. Yet here we are

i do apologize i did got some things mixed up also when you talk about the system being "way better and benefits everyone much more" it doesnt benefit f2p players as the old cost was 3000 shards for a perk you would have learned in your blood web rather then spending 12000 for a tier 3 on all killers or survs its much more expensive and with a currency that is already relatively hard to "farm" it absolutely hurts f2p players I dont even care about the new system with the bloodwebs but the shrine just has to go its much worse then the old shrine
Also ill probably edit my post and change up a few things but im tired right now and am heading to bed shortly
It was 2000 shards, not 3000.
Also, where are you getting that you need to spend 12k shards??? When you unlocked a teachable before you would only have the chance of it appearing in the bloodweb, now if you UNLOCK it (for the same price btw!) you have it unlocked on ALL your killers/survivors
The only time you are spending more than 2000, is if you already have the teachable unlocked. Say if you have BBQ and Chili for 6000, that means that you already have BBQ tier 2 unlocked, either from buying it in the shrine on a previous occasion or have The Cannibal at Prestige 2.
I could be missing something here, but like I can't possibly see how this is an issue
-
First of all you're talking about Iridescent Shards, not Auric Cells.
Second of all, you could never buy licensed content with Iridescent Shards. (Other than teachable perks in the shrine)
Third of all, this update is not hurting you as much as you think. Since if something is costing you more than 2000, then that means you already have the perk unlocked. The only perks you should really be looking out for, are the ones that cost 2000. As those are the ones that aren't even in your bloodweb yet.
Before, you unlocked the teachable that was then able to be unlocked through the bloodweb. Now if you buy a perk, it gets unlocked on ALL your Survivors/Killers at the level you bought it at. For example, if you're unlocking Decisive Strike from the shrine, before you had the teachable and now had the chance of getting it in your bloodweb. Now you unlock Decisive Strike on ALL your Survivors at level 1 and have the chance of it appearing in your bloodweb again.
The new system is WAY better and benefits everyone much more.

I can't remember the name of the addon's, but I like the Oni's that passively let's his blood rage fill. It works well with gathering orbs. =)
He actually already builds up his rage meter passively. Its just REALLY slow and you cant fully charge it, it only goes up to 99%
Were talkin slower than Dredge filling Nightfall with no one injured. Dredge takes 4 minutes while Oni takes I believe 5 minutes.
-
I honestly think maps just need a size reduction and need to be around the same size. Killers that have a strong 1v1 but not much mobility are kind of balanced because they cant get around the map as fast, imagine if Trickster or Huntress could get around the map as well as say Dredge or Billy, they would be absolutely insane

I mean any of the Harbingers would be great! They all have some sort of abilities as well that could be played around with. Sun Da (or Zhanhu) could have some sort of ability relating to fire, which surprisingly enough we don't have a killer that plays around with fire yet.

I think it's desperate because they are collaborating with unfitting licenses. Both of these are not horror.
But we already have original characters who don't really have a horror background, and even some licenses as well.
As for the PUBG collab, its likely were getting a charm and they're gonna get some cosmetics. For Honor and DbD last year had a collab because they had an entire halloween event themed around it. The main screen was changed as well as the music, we had a new gamemode which featured the Trapper, executions, cosmetics, and even an event battlepass.
I'm also calling that we're going to get another collaboration here soon but the other way around where this time. A For Honor chapter would absolutely work especially with some of the characters that are in there. Black Prior (Vortiger or Erzebeth), Warmonger (Astrea) or the main antagonist from the story mode, Apollyon. They would be great additions to DbD and while not necessarily horror themed, they would still fall in the same boat as killers like Oni or Deathslinger. Their backstories aren't scary, but them as a whole are what make them frightening and fit to be a killer.
-
@OrangeBear said:
For Honor and now this? Where did the original content go. Feels like dbd is desperate for any kind of licensing deal they can get right now.
No matter how you look at it, its still new content that benefits both parties. I also wouldn't call it "desperate" as its not like they're on a decline

Again,, people that get their condition to trigger by macro clicks are but a small minority even among photosensitive people,, it doesn't feel right to base a change on that small minority,, whats so hard to swallow about it? They could add some extra option in the accessibility tab of option to accommodate those people,, instead they completely remove a rather fun part of the game for all,,
And you are apart of the small minority of people who think macro flashlights/flashlight clicking are fun to deal with
Difference between photosensitive people and you is that they didn't have a choice
