Map mobility allows you get fast point A to point B, it doesn't give you hooks and downs. His chase power is quite weak and doesn't compensate by the fast map traversal.
You win a game by killing.. not running faster. Perhaps a master Billy can somehow compensate and do good, but good Billys are very few.. I haven't seen a good one and it's just a theory "they can do good" without seeing anyone do good.
So I guess that makes old Billy bad then? Because base kit Billy is basically the exact same except for overheat

Its not really a joke thread lmao Im looking for more people to play with since none of my friends really play games or nothin :/
I mean fair enough lmao
Sorry if I came off as a douche earlier, again I normally just try to have a good time when it comes to these forums since it can sometimes feel pretty tense
Here's my discord, (on PC btw) hmu if youd like: shro0mpy#2299

Why Billy is C tier? I dont understand why people think Billy is just unplayable now, he still has one of the best map traversal abilities in the game and is still capable of 1 hitting survivors.
The only problem is he takes the most amount of time to master out of any killer, and nobody wants to take the time to learn him because it can be tedious
-
Ok.. Sprit and Slinger I understand..
BUT DOC AND NEMIKINS???

Im really starting to believe the people who want Old DbD back are the ones whove never actually played it
And Im not talking about playing a game or 2 of classic DbD today, Im talking about ACTUALLY being there back in the day and trust me, DbD nowadays is a lot better than it used to be.
The changes made to the maps and models are needed for this games survival to be more appealing for next gen gaming, sure it might be nostalgic, but some nostalgia is better left as it is than actually making a return

If you count literally just moving to the right as spinning then yeah
A "spin" or "getting spun" is a term simply for dodging a hit in this game, and in this case the survivor did succesfully
-
@UncleStabby said:
Spinning is irritating, but I do agree with you. Managing to evade Blight's lethal rush is hardly an impressive feat, as it depends completely on the Killer's skill and not your own.
Just another salty survivor for the pudding.
"as it depends completely on the Killer's skill and not your own."
That is literally a spin, always has depended on the killers skill

They wanted me to bring a swf and I'm only a solo survivor lol
I mean Self Care in a SWF is VERY good and its one of those perks that only really work in a SWF. Pair it up with Borrowed Time and it can be a real life saver.

Ok but like...
If he spun to avoid your hit...
I dont see how he's wrong...

nothing, I play as I do normally and if survivors are showing that I need to loosen my gloves then I will.
Even when I see a key or Haddonfield offering, I play as I do normally because 90% of the time survivors who bring them are terrible

That sounded like a fun mechanic. Shame they got rid of it.
yeah, thing is that update also came with Vigil, so already crouching made exhaustion come back 33% faster, with Vigil that would be 53%.
You could also recover from exhaustion while running, but they only removed that later on with The Clown mid-chapter patch. You would recover much slower, I believe 33% the normal rate
-
@CornHub said:
Myth: Crouching & standing still will alleviate exhausted faster.
Truth: Only Vigil does that.
Back before Freddy was introduced, crouching did indeed make exhaustion go away faster
-
You cant just "nerf SWF", because Little Johnny wanting to play his brand spanking new game for his xbox with his friend Ethan down the road is not on the same level of Oracle. People shouldnt be penalized for playing with their friends.
What they should do instead is bring Solo Q as close as possible to SWF. Then balance from there

Because many players have crappy connection? Before the patch it gave them an advantage, now they suffer. Stop playing via WiFi, respect other players.
I play with an ethernet cable and usually get around 40-60ms, and still I hear the hit sound sound while being stunned and the survivor is fine
Had this happen a few times on stream

With those hitboxes - not much.
You still need to know how to aim and the hitboxes are consistent, you need to learn what you can and cant get away with, and still be quite precise

Voice chat would be crap, because toxic survivors would use it to insult you or just spam music/loud noises. And if it could be turned off, then it'd just be redundant.
Kindred base kit, without the element of seeing the killer near the hook, would be a better solution to the solo queue/SWF disparity.
Honestly I dont know if thisll be the case, the main source of toxicity in this game when its from fellow survivors is the lack of understanding behind the other screen.
I dont think proximity chat would be as bad as people think, if you dont like it there would most likely be an option to disable it

didnt even realize lmao
Honestly kinda like the red border

Watch videos on the game of some more advanced tactics, there is only so much you can learn on your own by experience.

its a bug
-
His hitbox is nothing like Huntress', in fact his hitbox is very interesting.
Its a very small narrow line in front of him, how ever the hitbox will follow him if he moves to the side or forward, theres no visual feedback for this so some times the hit does look a little wonky, but its consistent. You cant really greed much against him
-
Its very possible they were trying to snipe some ones lobby as well
-
His power is a weaker Spirit because hes still able to chase normally being a 115%.
Wraith is in a pretty good spot rn

Nowhere i said 100% uses stretched res and nowhere i complained going against SWFs too often but there are still TONS of people using stretched res and thats a problem.
Even if it would be only 1% it would be a problem.
God its so cute how literal some people take some messages
I agree that it is an issue and that it should be fixed, but its no where near as big a problem as people make it out to be. Some people are acting like its the only reason why they're losing games.
There are much bigger issues that need to be addressed

What does that have to do with SWF?
I dont care for SWF.
Because thats all people go against on these forums right? Top tier sweaty swf who make sure the killer experience is miserable, meaning they use every little thing to gain the upperhand.
In that case 100% of the playerbase uses stretched res, my mistake

Most generic tiles become safe, and while good survivors can loop most anyway being able to see killers over the loop removes all mind-games and moon-walking the killer can do. It essentially removes all skill a survivor needs and just makes it boil down to running in a circle till the killer makes you throw a pallet.
It also increases the strength of some already strong loops for really great survivors so they always get maximum value/time wasted out of a loop.
Not.. necessarily, have you ever seen a match fully played out of some one using stretched? Its not like they have wall hacks, there are maybe a handful of loops where it actually makes a difference, but the majority of them were already safe to begin with.

Its been proven repeatedly that stretched rez can make several tiles completely safe and un-mindgamable.
The competative teams wouldn't have every single member doing it if it didn't give a noticeable advantage.
I am going to guess that you use stretched rez?
No, I dont use stretched res, but comparing comp teams using it literally makes no sense. They are going to do every little thing thatll give them the slightest advantage because theyre literally playing for money
I also never said that it doesnt give an advantage, it does, but its so tiny it might as well not even be one, its like saying some one with a 144hz monitor has an advantage over some one with a 120hz. Is it? yes, but its tiny af.
Also think about it, what tiles become safe simply because theyre using stretched res? Jungle Gyms? T-L walls? Long Short Walls? Every single generic tile is safe for a survivor if they play it smart, stretched res doesnt change that
-

Given how many people use stretched resolution and shaders to get an advantage in game...
I think its A LOT MORE then you'd think.
Even then people who use those methods are still a VERY small percentage of the playerbase.
So no, its not that bad at all. Besides stretched res is not NEARLY as much of an advantage as people make it out to be.

Yes but a lot of them just removed chase music meant to silence the other side's chase noises.
Along with turning for example stealth killers Neon Pink so they can always see them from a distance.
I doubt most modders did that but...There are always bad apples that ruin it for everyone.
From what Ive seen, theres only a very small portion of the playerbase who did it and I highly doubt many of them did it to gain an advantage, not enough anyway to see a difference in gameplay
-
just a coincidence, I dont think running around as SpongeBob gave much of an advantage

UK, and 35-40 ping
Makes sense, pretty sure there's no many servers in the UK, meaning people who are further out don't have any servers to play on and are forced to play on the same servers as you and your friends. Its the same case in NA where we can go against some SA players who have relatively high ping

Oooooh! I gave your post a read and I got to say that I kinda like that idea. I wonder though if completely shutting off all sounds from Survivors might be a bit too much? What I would be worried about with your change is that since both sides have no sounds and no visuals (if the Survivor doesn't run) on where the other side is located, it would truly become a 100% guessing game for everyone. Even if the Spirit Passively Phased into view and saw the Survivor, that only occurs every 2.33 secs and I assume it would only last the briefest duration. Would that be enough to locate a Survivor and catch up to them with the nerfed speed and somehow land a hit?
But back to your reply. When you say that the Shard Trail gives a little too much info, what specifically are you worried about? As for the environment sometimes blocking out the Shard Trail, I thought that would be balanced out because those same environments could block out Survivor's Scratch Marks while Phasing. Lastly, I agree with your point that both the Survivor and Spirit should get information when Phasing, and that's what I thought I was suggesting. It's not exactly the same kind of and amount of information, but while the Spirit gets constant audio information from Survivors, Survivors get constant visual information (although slightly delayed) from the Spirit. What would you change to make this better?
The thing with my rework is now it truly is a game of whos able to outplay who with the little amount of information both sides receive, instead of The Spirit having a massive upperhand. With the glimpses I also wanted to recreate the same feeling as Old Freddy did while transitioning a survivor into the Dream World
As for your rework, The Spirit during her PTB was actually able to be tracked with sound, not only was the woosh sound to indicate she was phasing directional, but it could also be heard while in the terror radius. You could also hear her breathing directionally. And people back then deemed Spirit as "High Risk, Medium Reward". I have a feeling that giving survivors a full on visual on what The Spirit is doing might bring this back OR make it even worst.

Hit through a pallet is when you stun the killer and only AFTER THAT he hits you. It's not the "timings", it's just broken hit validation. It happens because on the killer's side, which is 1 whole second or more too late thanks to his latency, he sees the moment where you haven't dropped the pallet yet, and hits you on his side. The server then takes his client-side hits and confirms them, because "if he sees a hit, the hit is true". Hit validation in shooter games works like this, but in shooters any player can shoot and it works both ways: for you and for the opponent. In DbD, however, only the killer can "shoot", or just hit, and so it happens that hit validation always favors the Killer. And the higher latency the killer has, the closer the survivor to him on his client side (because the killer is chasing the survivor), and the more ridiculous the hits become.
The same happens with all the other hits: the killer sees an old picture, hits the "ghost of the past" of the survivor, and the servers just gladly confirms every hit the Killer's client sends to it.
About vaults: if only I were hit just after medium vaults. I get hit after fast vaults and then running a step or two after that. It's not hitboxes, it's hit validation + high ping on the killer's side. As simple as that.
I understand having dodgy hits sometimes, but you make it seem like its every game, and unless youre in an area where theres not really a server close enough then I highly doubt its as frequent as you make it seem
-
One thing some survivors don't understand is the movement speed curve of a lunge... and this can make it seem like the killer hit you from a farther distance post down than it actually is, let me explain..
The movement speed of a killer gradually increases and decreases during a lunge, its not just instant, this is also true for the end of a lunge, and they still keep that pretty decent burst of speed at the end, and if they hold backwards while doing it they'll go backwards.
You also have instances where a killer can flick really fast in the direction of a survivor and hit them, all the game needs is for the lunge radius and the survivors hitbox to collide even if that means for a split second.
Now you have pallets, getting hit through a pallet isn't all that common if you actually take the time and learn the distances you're able to get away with, unless of course its actually a case of desync.
And you should know this by now but medium vault hitboxes are atrocious, and this I do believe needs to be fixed.
But really, if you blame absolutely EVERY hit from a killer is latency, its not, its you.
