  • Survivor main here.

My main build is WGLF, BT, DS, and UB. DS and UB used to be mutually exclusive in my build as I didn't want to put the killer in a lose-lose scenario. I found that I was naive.

I have more fun ensuring some sort of normal gameplay each match than I do running fun perks. It's more fun to avoid getting tunneled and slugged than it is to run gimmicks and have no defense against underhanded tactics.

  • My personal favorite postgame message to send to the killer after they played a great match before EGC, when applicable, is "gg wp, you're good enough to lose the noed" :p

  • Both Huntress and Cuckslinger really annoy me, but only one of these killers is impossible to have fun against...

  • Been here a week and already having a mental breakdown... cheers.

  • I dislike the Twins just as much as the next person, but babyraging about it isn't helpful nor constructive.

  • I'd love more community access to playtime statistics, because two weeks ago I would've said I queue into Huntresses the most, and now I have been queueing into Blights all the time. His renaissance has me convinced that if he keeps getting consistent playtime, and if his skill ceiling keeps getting higher, he may just get a balance change before Nurse simply because he is easier to tweak.

  • I always find it funny when killers complain about DS, UB, and BT. They are only powerful if you let the survivor leverage it. Each perk gives you substantial ways to play around it, and choosing to play into it means playing like a tool anyways...

Deathslinger and it's not even close.

I think I wanna change my answer to any killer who has noed lol

Spirit is fine. Survivors have some information, not none. Stridor is a perk, counter it with a perk, Iron Will. Spirit is fine.

Spirit may not need reworked... Her power is unique and thematic since the DbD designers love it that way. But to say that she is fine is just wrong. She needs looked at in some way, and that shouldn't even be in question.

  • Deathslinger and it's not even close.

i man 30 sec seems like to much but overall interesting concept

The point I was getting at was to dissuade facecamping by devaluing it, which happens to be an intensified issue in solo queue. 30 seconds punishes the killer for deciding to end a single survivor's game instead of applying pressure elsewhere, but the numbers really don't matter. A basekit Camaraderie should be looked at regardless of whatever numbers makes you feel happy.

  • Make a modified version of Camaraderie basekit that activates when the killer comes close to the hook, instead of a teammate.

This can only activate if a survivor has been struggling on second hook for 10 or more seconds.

If the killer stays within 8 meters (normally 16 on Camaraderie) of the hook for 5 seconds, a hook timer pause activates for 30 seconds, and the entity progression meter flashes yellow like a deep wound status effect to show that the pause has activated.

  • Gotta be careful with giving every killer Dark or Ghost type haha, they're all killers, each could really be a Dark type.

  • Love this tierlist LOL. Deathslinger should be in S tier tho; mega bm and most likely to have NOED.

  • Laurie got shafted in this tier list ;(

PP head is fine. I have been playing him recently and he will stomp any pub group and struggle against coms because of gen efficiency and no map pressure.

    Nothing needs to change.

I agree. Use Rites of Judgement effectively and you can almost bank on ending the game with at least 1 kill. PH has built in no-consequence tunneling in his kit anyways.

  • Thoroughly confused about what the so-called 180 is. Is it the same as nasty flicks, or what?

you do realize the japan championship was not with the best of the best killers of surv they were around rank 8

they chose Michel over the spirit

and the reason why the pig won was because she use some of the best addons on her

First you said she isn't used competitively, and now you're saying the recent example I gave you of Pig being played at the highest level (competitive DbD) doesn't matter? Have a good day, I'm done here.

what are you talking about if she were so-called, not weak then why inst she used in comp or why don't you see her red ranks all the time.

she doesn't have any chase ability expect I guess her ambush which is only really good in short loops. plus she needs downs to use her gen slow down

Pig was played in the grand final of the Dead by Daylight Japan Championship. Grand final... 3 months ago... And, don't generalize everyone else's queues based on your own. I see her in red ranks quite often.

You want ambush to be better? Give her room for an ambush buff by reworking her RBT and jigsaw boxes that skew her kill rate.

  • Pig is not weak. If you think she is weak, perhaps you're playing a bit too fair. Interrupt survivors at jigsaw boxes and force them away till timer activates, then see if she still feels underwhelming. She deserves an addon pass that gives her fun and useful addons instead of throwing extra RBTs and jigsaw box addons left, right, and center in bloodwebs.

  • Honestly, Deathslinger. So cliche of a choice, but he is actually no fun to play against. Miserable games every time I queue into one. And playing him for adept wasn't fun at all, was so glad it was easy.

You find Trickster fun to go against?

I can see why some don't, but with the gratuitous hitboxes that sometimes give Huntress an edge, Trickster's laceration meter affords less punishment for questionable hits. I like the idea of ranged killers, but Huntress far too often feels sour.

  • If it is a good Spirit... the game is over before it starts. She makes every chase end in a 50/50. No one in their right mind thinks she is fun to play against. Every game I face a Spirit, it gets a 1/5 rating in postgame till she gets addressed.

  • @GannTM said:

As a former Spirit main that has probably played like 5 Spirit games the past month and a half to two months, I’m starting to want to get back into her again. However, I just can’t because I understand how painfully oppressive she is to go against and I just feel bad for survivors when playing as Spirit.

So devs, I know y’all probably aren’t going to do it any time soon but please just give her counterplay and raise her skill ceiling, even if it drops her to B or C tier. She’s by miles my favorite killer (not favorite character because Yui happily takes that spot) because her character’s awesome, visual design is awesome, and lore is so well-done. I miss being a Spirit main so I’m begging to see that Spirit nerf at some point in the future.

I appreciate you OP, for having the mutual empathy between survivors and the killer to not want to run Spirit. You're absolutely right, every Spirit game I get into is absolutely miserable. In red ranks, the game is over before it starts. That empathy and feeling of guilt for running those kinds of perks or tactics is why I've never used NOED. If you run it but complain about it, you're apart of the problem. Your attitude would fix this game.

  • Nerf Spirit, find a way to make Nurse easier on new players while reducing the near game-breaking skill ceiling, rework/delete NOED, rework keys, buff unusable perks for killer and survivor, make Camaraderie base kit if killer is within 5 meters while gates are not powered... That's my first few changes.

  • @TripleSteal said:

No, blocking feature doesn't affect MM in any way.

Thanks for the quick response. I'd love BHVR to make this a feature sooner rather than later, some people queue with the sole intention to ruin other people's days and it is insufferable.

  • Should be posted under off-topic

  • I have not used NOED a single time. I am left constantly complaining about NOED; it feels absolutely miserable when it activates. You're a part of the problem if you hate it, and still run it tbh. Choice words for killers who run it like it's their dayjob.

  • @Drixpy_Jayyy said:

When survivors complain the devs take action immediately but when killers complain the devs just be like "nahhh your fine deal with it and we will be nerfing a killer and their perks."

All of your forum discussion posts are garbage.

  • DS got nerfed because as an anti-tunnel perk it was doing way more than it was designed to. NOED is the same way. There are a lot of games where you can barely finish the last gen with one or two survivors left and still get hit with NOED, it feels absolutely miserable...

  • @OBX said:

Anything that weakens victor or the ability to play as victor leaves the killer player using Charlotte who simply has m1 at that point.

the killer is realistically “stuck” because of how she was designed. The devs have cool imaginations when the conceive a killer, but they lack understanding of how killers actually play in the game.

Victor can still down injured survivors, attach to healthy survivors, trap survivors in lockers... His utility remains strong regardless. The Twins are not an M1 killer. Charlotte is, the Twins are not.

  • I think a rework for Nurse and Spirit is a good idea.

Nurse has the lowest win rate, but is the strongest killer when played at the highest level. That is the most unbalanced a character can get. For that reason, I think she should be tweaked.

Spirit's add ons are extremely bloated, and I hope she eventually gets her addons reworked, as well as maybe her power to make playing against her not feel like the most unfun matchup in DBD.

  • I hate the argument that "Survivors should be punished for not doing all the totems." Yeah, right. I'm going to roam the map and cleanse every totem to avoid a perk that the killer may or may not have, or better yet, do one or two totems and hope my team has cleansed the other three.

Killers, have you even tried to find all 5 totems on a map like Hawkins? And don't say some awful band-aid solutions like bring a map every single game, run small game, or bring map offerings to easier maps to find the totems. With a non-AFK killer who has map pressure, finding all the totems is an insurmountable effort with gens needing to be done and teammates needing to be saved.

Twice today alone, I've died on first hook (once on FIRST HIT) to NOED. I like the idea of tweaking NOED to being a timer, not affecting those who have not been hooked, making NOED token-based, or completely reworking it to not have an exposed effect.

  • Unfortunately, it's the worst part of the game, getting camped or tunneled off hook as a survivor. But you won't garner any sympathy whining about it. Get over it and become numb like the rest of us ;)

  • Regardless, playing against Spirit in her current state is extremely unsatisfying. A tell would help survivors feel like they are getting outplayed, and not attempting to play against near insurmountable odds depending on how good the Spirit is.

  • Least favorite killers to play against are Nurse and Spirit. I want to feel like I'm getting outplayed, and those two killers make every interaction incredibly unsatisfying.

Most favorite killer to play against is Pyramid Head or Billy. Pyramid Head's ranged ability is fun to play against and its hitboxes aren't messed up like Huntress axes, and Billy's outplays feel good to try and go against.

  • At this point, everyone is aware of the glaring bugs and issues like clunky movement and horrible hitboxes. It is now over 24 hours since the last update from the devs regarding this bugged update. I would like a little bit more transparency, considering how awful the game feels right now compared to how it felt before the update. I think a 1.5x or 2x weekend at the end of the Lunar event would be enough to settle this, alongside a quick fix to the hitboxes, as that's the most game-breaking bug right now.

  • @Mr_K said:

I just had a bubba and trapper try and 4 man slug. Why are you singling out Nurse and Oni?

I've had other killers end up slugging my entire team as well. In my experience playing survivor, usually only Nurses and Onis deliberately end a game in two minutes.

  • @TheWarNung said:

    Killer is doing a speedrun.

Seriously though, I frequently get asked, "why are you slugging at 4 gens?" My answer is that I had 2 survivors hooked, 1 on the ground, knew where the 4th survivor was, and realized I could end the game immediately.

If all 4 survivors make enormous mistakes I'm going to end things early and move on to the next match.

    Sorry not sorry

This situation is understandable, though cold. The issue I am trying to get at isn't slugging someone at four gens, but slugging all survivors at four or five gens in an Infectious Fright killing slugging spree.

  • @BaldursGate2 said:

Use a map, small game perk or just look for totems? In the most maps they are easy to spot.

And you do exactly what scott told you not to do. NOED is easy to counter, your 2nd chance perks not really. Either you slug them what is unfun for everyone or you eat the DS because it is so common that at least 2 ppl in every game have it.

Thank you for your input. But no, as I said, I barely ever run DS, my only owned second chance perk. When I get killed by NOED, I cope by bitching to my friends then move on. But when 3 out of my 4 games played in a day result in a NOED death, it makes me really start to consider second chance options.

Small game is an option that I haven't thought about, I will have to test it soon. Map offerings to counter NOED as a solo-queuer is nonsense.
