I can say for certain that it does not.

Map offerings shouldn't be a thing. I really hate it when a teammate sends us to Saddonfield. Basically forcing us all into a boring game that few actually enjoy. Survivors and teams shouldn't be able to choose where they go.
I like the idea of the killer choosing the map though. You know you're in for trouble when the 5th offering is Mary's Letter or a Hawkins Lab I.D.
-
Hmm... I'd delete NOED and Cockslinger. Easy choice really.

B tier :)
I can agree with B tier, but I see him more in A. He lacks in map pressure but his chase is pretty strong, and he has a lot going for him with zombies applying free pressure on gens and revealing survivors.
Kinda wanna see his win rate.

Na they ######### everything up.
The 4th year anniversary had to be extended by like 2 weeks because cakes werent working like they were meant to.
The map was disabled in like an hour, after being on the PTB for weeks, how did they not catch it
Even though you and I play the same game, with that attitude, I hope your game remains busted.
Pretty rude and ungrateful tbh.
-
Many people overlook the way that stay at home orders and quarantining has affected the gaming industry. DbD isn't the only game to release bug-ridden patches. These developers are working over the cloud to fix a Triple A title working from home... Some empathy for these devs would be nice.
That being said, with the map being disabled for 3 days now, pushing 4, another BP gift is almost expected...
-
It's probably the decreased movement speed from charging tentacle strike that makes him feel slow in chase. That, or because Nemesis is built like Thanos.
-
At the highest level? Absolutely survivor sided. When the killer is completely new to the game? Survivor sided. A good SWF? Sure, survivor sided. Anything else? Otherwise, you probably just didn't play at your best which is far and away the most common.

Well the things is, it's not their stats that are weak. It's just that the NPC AI sucks, it gets stuck on everything. That and it sometimes doesn't even notice survivors right next to it.
Then who cares? Don't make more killers with NPCs, and be good enough to not rely on a gimmick mechanic.

Not to this extent. It's A LOT worse now.
Well, I don't want to see that for myself. What have they done to my boy...
-
This was a thing before 5.0.0 btw...
-
I agreed with what Otz said on a stream recently.
Before any changes come to the zombies, Nemesis himself should be buffed. Any buffs to the zombies make Nemesis himself weaker.
Zombies should be happy accidents and their effectiveness should not be consistent.
DO NOT buff the NPC assistance. If they feel weak to you, run some add-ons to power them up then.
-
I wouldn't mind incremental gifts for each day it is still disabled. But, don't complain that 300K isn't enough when RCPD is disabled and it's the only part of the new chapter that is available for everyone whether or not they decide to buy the DLC.

Post game would be fine. I'd like that actually. People would realize that SWF isn't as powerful as they think. But pre game would be completely game breaking for SWF.
I completely agree, but it's a little off topic for this discussion.

No. SWF wouldn't ever get a game, which isn't fair to people just trying to play with their friends. You can't beat the average SWF? That's on you.
I'm simply making the point that before Behavior ever considers giving bonus bloodpoints for facing a SWF, they would probably start by letting the killer know they faced, maybe even are facing, a SWF in pre/post game lobby. You misconstrued my point.
-
It does feel miserable to be slugged for the 4K in a spree, but I understand a killer doing it when there's maybe 1, maybe 2 gens left. At that point, the survivor rulebook is thrown out the window because it's probably a really close game.
Personally I just hook last and whatever happens, happens.
-
I think you should start by asking for the killer being made aware that he/she faced a SWF in the post-game lobby, maybe even before the trial in the pre-game lobby before you ask for bonus bloodpoints.
-
Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, and Unbreakable are only as strong as the killer allows the survivor to leverage them...
-
This dead horse has been beaten to a bloody pulp... It's just fanning flames at this point.
-
What build do you find most effective on Pig?
The best Pig I've seen that stomped me used Brutal Strength and Enduring and just W keyed since she has slowdown in the hats.

As others have stated, their silence to me speaks volumes
They're not gonna do it. They've decided to run out the clock and let the last gen game die out as people upgrade to new consoles. There's literally no other reason to not say something about it at this point except that they're hoping people will just...get bored and wander away as their customers buy Series Xs/PS5s
So true. Just forcing people to upgrade their hardware to enjoy the game is wrong. What makes matters worse is the lack of progress in implementing cross progression. If people do want to upgrade their system for DbD, they can't even switch to PC as a console gamer without losing substantial in-game progress and DLCs...
-
Lol. In all seriousness, a skill check trainer available in queue would be cool. I feel like it would help a lot of people practice hitting great skill checks, and help new players hit skill checks in general. A nice time waster for queues.
-
I jump into lockers all the time against Twins.
It's an easy way to punish the Twins for crossmap patrolling as Victor. If she does commit to racing to the locker, forcing the stalemate has already done its job for the other teammates.
When I played Twins for adept, it gave me a better sense of how far of a patrol was punishable by lockers.
It's honestly great counterplay in the right situation, of course.
-
Stridor counters Iron Will... Iron Will does not counter Stridor.
-
Azarovs sucks for both sides. Suffocation Pit is just unfair for killers, the center usually has 3 or 4 TL tiles next to each other that an M1 killer can't navigate without stacks of bloodlust. Hope for a 3 gen, or the game is over on those maps.
-
Trickster is the least egregious ranged killer tbh...
-
Love this idea, and have been recommending something similar recently. The idea of leaving glimpses or husks of the Spirit during phase to give survivors info creates a new mind game without being unbearable to play against. Imagine a tile like cow tree, where you see Spirit rounding the tile, but backtracks and hits you at pallet... So much better than standing still to mind game.
-
No, it really is just the Spirit...
-
Counterplay or not, every interaction against Spirit sucks and feels like a coin toss, except it's a weighted coin.
I wanna feel like I'm getting outplayed! Not screwed over.
-
Be thankful it's collecting data in the background so that when MMR really is implemented/turned on, you probably won't see as many potato survivors, unless you're more potato yourself than you think you are...
-
Someone on these forums made a fantastic suggestion that the Spirit should leave husks of her position every 25% of her phase or so. That, or any indicator that she is phasing instead of standing still mindgaming for free, is the only 'counterplay' Spirit needs.

NOED is fine. At the absolute most, it could use a tiny bit more telegraphing, but the general effect it has is fine.
Also... NOED should not be nerfed or changed in any way to be more based on how well the Killer did in the rest of the match. It currently stands as one of the very very few decent perks available to new Killers and is a good comeback mechanic for when they inevitably get matched against Survivors who heavily outclass them.
I agree. Killers deserve a second chance perk, especially one that's available to all killers in the base pool of perks.
But it's a two way street. Let's remind ourselves about the killers who outclass 4 baby survivors, and when the two survivors both on death hook barely manage to power the exit gates, they get hit with an oppressive NOED by a killer who played so well they didn't need a second chance.
I hate generalizations like these, because each game is variable. I'd rather NOED be more consistent and truly be a second chance perk like the new DS, one that only activates (and stays active) when it needs to.

You're wrong, son. Undying was very healthy for the game. Because it reduced camping and gave survivors an incentive to do something else than gens.
What we have now, is unhealthy for the game. Because survivors just push gens and killers tunnel/camp in a desperate attempt to slow gens down.
Bait btw ^

There is a rule in FantasyRPGs for magical weapons being worth to keep.
If it has a very strong bonus vs a rare beast (like a +5 against dragons or something) it still might be worth less than a magical weapson with a small bonus for something common (+1 against orcs).
And this might be the same, rather get the killers nerfed you see all the time instead of a stronger one you almost never encounter.
The problem is that the complains never end. They complain about a killer until he gets nerfed, then move on to the next killer. Then they complain about queue times and only seeing the same killers (that need a nerf, of course). And round and round it goes.
I come from a MOBA background. In MOBAs, when a character's skill floor is so high, and the skill ceiling is even higher, that character should get reworked. When a character has the lowest win rate overall, but the best performance at the highest level, that character is begging to be changed.
If you're interested, check this out: https://www.smitegame.com/news/developer-update-persephone/
Compare SMITE's Persephone to Dead by Daylight's Nurse. The parallels are shockingly similar, and actually inspired me to make this post...
I beg everyone to take the time to compare the two, and maybe you'll come to understand why Nurse deserves to be looked at in some fashion.
I may even end up fleshing out this comparison in another discussion post because it shows why and how a character like Nurse in DbD is chosen to be reworked based off of metric data (pick + ban rate and overall win rate) and perception of strength.
-
The old Ruin Undying meta made me accustomed to totem hunting. I start each game looking for Ruin if it's up.
You can say that you are 1 of 4 and don't need to leave a gen if you aren't getting pushed off of it, but since your teammates are, you have to assume they are losing progress on multiple gens, or else wasted objective time snowballs into multiple hooks with no gens done.
-
This build should be banned but Soul Guard, Unbreakable, Second Wind, Decisive Strike. The ultimate selfish second chance build that covers its weaknesses.

Im not saying entitled SWFs are never pretending that they are solos...but....
...as i see, most of the times, entitled killermains are too entitled to check the player profiles, at least....before they pull out the "OMGitsanSWF" card...
....after giving an awfully weak performance...
I literally play soloQ only, but i get accused playing SWF a lot...
Literally same. You make good plays like bodyblocking for someone or peeling for the guy on death hook and suddenly all four players in the game must be in a SWF right? No way regular solo queue players could possibly be good at the game and have keen game sense.
-
True. I hate when my teammates send me here because it really isn't fun to run. Like at all.
Hate it more when I'm sent there as killer, of course. :)
-
I simply wanted to talk about game balance with the Nurse discussion. But no of course not, some of my favorite killers to play and face are not M1 only killers.
-
I think a lot of people are confusing what good game balance is. DbD is a unique asymmetrical game, and doesn't have to follow the same rules as other competitive games with ranked modes; that's okay.
But like I said when I started this discussion, having a character be really mechanically intensive and very hard for new players that happens to have the highest skill ceiling in the game as compensation IS NOT good game balance. You can personally think Nurse deserves to be the only killer who can twist the game with enough skill, but for a game that tries to reach into the competitive side, that is not a good look.
SWFs? Strong survivor perks? Counterplays? Sure, I understand where you're coming from and you deserve to be heard, but that's not something I was trying to get into here. I'm not even asking for nerfs or reworks to ruin Nurse. Just genuinely curious why her issue with game balance is swept under the rug.
-
@Tsulan said:
Why bother complaining about nurse?
Normal nurse players are no issue and god nurses are so rare that you'll never see them. Especially once the mmr drops.
When the only game mode aside from custom lobbies are ranked matches, balance matters.

Yes. Everyone escapes.
That's my point. Nurse is the hardest killer for new players... But the best players with Nurse stomp... Not good balance.
-
Yes...
Have you never faced a baby Nurse?
-
Rank 1, across the board it's usually Wraith, Blight, Cockslinger, Huntress or Spirit.
-
I'm sorry, what???
What's the counterplay to Iron Will? Literally Stridor. Iron Will does not counter Stridor, Stridor counters Iron Will... You can't be serious, right?

@Awkward_Fiend said:
The problem with the perk isn't that it's outdated, it's that it's poorly designed. It's designed as a massive boon to the killer in the endgame to serve as a punishment for survivors who don't do bones, however smart survivors can see this perk coming from a mile away, and will keep track of every totem spawn they've seen. Often times, against a strong team, you'll usually get 1 down, and against a few solo queues it just feels completely unfair for them since they have much less info to work with.
It's not even too strong of a perk, hell it's just mediocre. If you want to be super threatening for a bit, just use Devour or Starstruck.
I get where you're coming from. NOED's effectiveness is highly variable depending on the situation, but the 'good team' and '1 kill' arguments are wholly inaccurate and generalize the perk when it often does way more than that.
And NOED is not mediocre. No other perk gives indefinite Exposed for all survivors except Devour Hope which rewards the killer for getting hooks and not camping. Also, no other perk gives an indefinite movement speed increase. PWYF loses stacks on hits, DH is only after hooks, and Agitation is only when carrying a survivor. BHVR is careful with movement speed increases through perks because it is such a strong effect.
It is poorly designed though. NOED rewards the killer for failing their primary objective of defending generators, while survivors are punished for not cleansing 5 totems, a second objective, even a tertiary one.

Edit your comment before 96544567890 killer mains reminding you that slugging and camping is technically a strategy, and that your just an entitled survivor main who needs second chance perks because survivor takes no skill and that BT is so OP because going after the unhooker is physically impossible, even if they are already injured and its been established that they are using BT.
Lol. Complain away, their strats give my build so much value. It's only a 'second chance' if you let me leverage it...
