Usally I am not a fan of the idea to give killers or survivors aura reading for free but when I see how SoloQ is currently, maybe changing kindred to be basekit would be a good idea. It would give survivors better communication that usally only SWF has, the quality of games would be better for survivors and killers and it would be a change that wouldn't really buff SWF's. Sure immersion is important and all...but lets be honest, only for like the first 10-15 hours. In my opinion there is no argument against it.
-
Has potential but it needs polishing for sure. Hitboxes aren't that good and I think they still don't have EU/NA servers but that's not the end of the world and I'm sure those are problems that get fixed soon. So overall a cool game and a refreshing alternative to DBD imo.
-
Currently Deep Rock Galactic is my main game. I also play a lot of Bloons TD6 and ARK with friends. I only play DBD for like 3-4 hours and play the rest of the day DRG.

I'm not denying in anyway that old DS was bs. It needed a nerf no matter how you cut it, but now DS just isn't feared as the killer knows most survivors don't use it, and unfortunately I can't force my ransoms to use DS with me to screw up the killer even a tad bit.
Do you have anything in mind that would help you? like a concept or something?

So, you're not aware of people using the term "buddy" in a passive aggressive manner? Okay bestie xo
I understand that "buddy" is used in a passive aggressive manner but you also need to understand that a lot of people simply don't like it to get called buddy by someone they don't know. Regardless, I still thank you for reminding me of my mistake. Have a good one.

Read his post, buddy. He didn't use DS because people didn't tunnel, or not as much, so chances are he didn't experience that.
It's a miracle what eyes can do for a person.
First of all, I am not your buddy but you were right I missed the point where he said he didn't feel like there was a need to bring DS before, So I edited my post.
-
"If I DS the killer it doesn't stop them from coming right [BAD WORD] back at me regardless if the game is at 5 gens or the exit gates are open, regardless if someone is trying to tank a hit or if I'm the only person nearby."
I don't understand why everyone is bringing up the same argument over and over again. It is literally the same as before, nothing has changed. If hit someone with DS before the nerf, they often times come back at me again as well. Why are people complaining about this stuff now and not when old DS was still there?. Y'all are complaining about stuff that even old DS had but now it is an issue? come on. If tunneling is an issue for you, play DS. There is nothing more to say.
Edit: I missed the point were you said you didn't use DS as much before because you didn't feel like there was a need and that you feel kinda forced to bring it now but my argument still stands. DS isn't as feared anymore because the 60 second god mode was bs.
-
Would kill the game pretty much, so no.

Or they could actually make DS a true anti tunnel perk now that it's literally useless. If it's gonna disappear the moment you cough, it needs to be a lot stronger.
So you want to loop the killer for 60 seconds and want the DS up? No thank you.
-
Wraith with Serpent + Shadow Dance and Fire Up hard counters Gideon. Played 10-20 matches on this map since the Wraith movementspeed buff and haven't lost a single game.
-
I wouldn't say it is purely our fault. A lot of these games died because of bad decisions from the developer/publisher. Last Year died because of Discord exclusively, Evolve died because they tried to hard to make it an E-Sport title and they had a bad DLC policy but I think people don't give new games a chance and instandly say "Nah it will die in 2 months" but will also complain about DBD not having any competition. It is a problem on both sides. Devs and publisher decision weren't good and players don't give new games a chance.
-
If a killer tunnels, camps, slugs it is considered an exploit? that is new to me. Also BBQ is probably the most well designed perk in the game. There is no need for a change at all.

What you really mean:
The more I play killer, the more tunnel vision I get and only notice criticism against killers.
That is not true. There are a lot of killer mains in this forum who criticise stuff on both sides and often quite objectively. Survivors cry about killer stuff and vice versa but that doesn't mean all killers only notice criticism on their side.
-
Jup, chests are bugged currently. I got 2 red keys in 3 trials in a row. I understand it's annoying but it is not the end of the world.

I'm tired of people always bringing it around to the points. Most people who facecamp don't care about the points. If you play Killer often enough, even just getting one or two kills you'll make points hand over fist. Even without chase, even without a lot of hits, even without using your power. The shear fact you can get games really fast as Killer the number of points you make per game may be low but you are getting so many games it doesn't matter. And by facecamping you get good Survivors who know how to deal with it to make the games go even faster, because good Survivors will finish gens against a facecamper.
So, no, "They don't get any points" isn't an answer, or even a factor. Nor is rank. Depip, black-pip, single or double pip are all non factors. Because, again, the facecamper doesn't care. All the facecamper cares about if getting their one, maybe two kills. What needs to happen is there has to be some punishment in the trial when it comes to facecamping. Not just in the game because that's what the points are about and the Chaser Emblem punishment for being near a hooked Survivor. It has to be related to the trial itself.
There needs to be something that actively punishes facecampers for doing so. We already have things that care about distance between players that are not attached to chase, so it is not like we can't check that. I think that it should be that if there is no other Survivor within say 26 meters of the hooked Survivor but the Killer is within that distance the hooked Survivor's hook counter doesn't go down, be it stage one or stage two. Doesn't matter if the Killer is Undetectable or not, if they are with-in that distance with no other Survivor the hooked Survivor can stay on that hook for literal hours and never progress.
This would fix the problem of Survivors looping the Killer near hook, like I have been told was the case in the Olden Days, because they are in the distance them being there is detrimental to the hooked Survivor.
One thing that would need to change is that other Survivors can't see hook progression of other Survivors. I think this would actually be beneficial overall because it would incentivize people to go rescue sooner rather than later. I've had a lot of games as Survivor where I waited on a gen as long as I could before going to save someone because I knew they could just keep mashing space and it wouldn't matter if I got there with only a fraction of a second left before the hug if I tap their waist before it happens. So not knowing how long someone else has on hook would make some interesting game-play decisions and allow them to make use of the now hidden information in various ways.
A lot of updates are about giving Survivors more information, but there are some things that by not knowing could make the game more fun over all. We should not be afraid of taking away information we do have in order to gain a better over all play experience. I know I'd give up hook timer and hook states being displayed if it meant never having to deal with another facecamper again in less than a heart beat. Shoot, I'd give up total gens repaired on top of those two if it meant not having to deal with that sort of Killer.
Your job is to kill the player characters, not the fun of the game. Facecamping kills fun and maybe one player character. Something needs to be done about it.
I say all of this as a Killer Main who plays Survivor because of The Archives and so on. I don't facecamp, and seeing other Killers do it makes me not respect them.
"And by facecamping you get good Survivors who know how to deal with it to make the games go even faster, because good Survivors will finish gens against a facecamper" Nice, you found the counterplay to camping. If you are a good survivor you will manage to deal with face campers, it is not that hard. Sure it sucks for the camped person but the killer bought the game and he can play how he wants even if you don't like it. If face camping had no counterplay it would be an issue but it has, so it's fine. People also complain about sweaty survivors with BNP's, flash light clicking and teabagging but in the end, they bought the game and can play how they want. I understand you don't like it and that it's frustrating but BHVR will do nothing about camping any time soon. It might sound rude but as of right now, there are two options for you. Either you just accept that it is part of the game and deal with it, or stop playing. As I said, BHVR will do nothing about camping, they said it years back, there are clips where they say "We said it multiple times that camping is part of the game" I can even provide if you want. You don't have to respect someone who camps, you don't have to like it but it is what it is.
-
They get literally no points for the hook when they straight up face camp. When a killer is face camping he gives survivors pretty much a free escape. If you are efficient on gens, the killer will lose this round.
-
Idea sounds good but I would like to know how the interaction with undying would be
-
The best Wraith build and probably the most underrated is Serpent and Shadow Dance for Addons and Fire Up and Bamboozle for perks (you can choose the other 2 perks as you please). It is crazy how good this build is and I am still wondering why nobody is playing it.
-
To be honest, everytime I won on Haddonfield it didn't feel like I won because of skill, instead I won because the survivors were bad. Trapper, Nurse and Hag are the only viable killers on Haddonfield IMO.
-
Probably the best one was a year or two back (it was when they introduced the EGC) I was pretty new to the game so I got destroyed. All gens were done relatively quick and all game I got maybe 3 hooks max. 3 survivors ran out without teabagging or anything except one, Meg. She teabagged non stop, flashlight clicked and in the end dead harded through the exit but at this time the exit was kinda bugged and wouldn't load you to the end screen, so he was stuck in here with me. He couldn't managed to leave and when the Entity got him, he DC'ed. I only have seen this bug once, I don't know if its still in the game.

I think it's time to get rid of some stuff killers just don't need anymore, with the constant buffs and instant-wins mechanics.
- They don't need current NOED as it is.

Okay but then lets remove what survivors don't need anymore. 1. Toolboxes 2. Keys

Wanna hop into a custome game? I can probably show you 5 on Gideon, 2-3 on Haddonfield and 3-4 on Ormond.

Every game actually.

Played 5 games today and in 3 of those games I got 2 red keys and the other items I found were mostly purple. Something is 100% bugged, no doubt.
-
Another Perk idea that would be heavily abused by survivors. Next.
-
Don't play Stridor. If you get used to it, it's hard playing without it and Stridor is bugged currently.
-
Less Fence / Bush Loops would be a good start but I rather have the whole map removed.
-
The best survivor is Ace. He pretty much has Iron Will by default.

Okay first of all DBD will never be an E-Sports game. It never was and never will be. People need to get competitive DBD out of their heads because A. high elo DBD games are boring as hell and B. Asymmetric games are impossible to balance and this game is broken as hell. 90% of all competitive DBD players aren't even good but that's another issue. IF BHVR would officially announce that DBD will competitive in the future they still wouldn't change tunneling and camping. In fact, all that would change is that teams would be more picky of who is good enough to join their team. I always cringe when people think this game is a competitive game.
-
I sometimes imagine how DBD would look like if the devs were as passionate as the Deep Rock Galactic devs. This game is sooo good and the devs are doing gods work with each update.
-
I dunno if it's a niche build but Wraith with Fire Up and Serpent + Shadowdance is probably my favorite killer build. It pretty much helps with his weaknesses and the recent buffs made this Build even stronger. I would even say it's his strongest build but I rarely see someone play it.
-
I disagree. Played 5 games of Wraith today and dominated all of them. The fact that he has his wind storm addon for free in his kit feels more than nice.
-
Every killer is the best killer in the game when you play against absolute noobs.
-
I absolutely love your stat posts, it just gives a nice objective view of how games overall are and I thank you for putting so much effort into it <3
May I ask if you have plans to do something like this again?
-
I couldn't agree more. In my opinion Whispers is absolutely underrated despite being the best information perk a killer can have. I love this perk and it feels weird playing without it. So yeah, I agree with you.
The reasons why people aren't playing it are: they think they don't need it, they think it is a bad perk, it doesn't fit in their build. I can understand if it doesn't fit, maybe you want to play a specific build and you don't have space for Whispers. I can't understand why a lot of people think it is a bad perk, people who think that just don't see the value and if you think you don't need it....fair point.
Whispers is my all time favorite perk.

These stats include the difference.
26.8% are 3-4 man swf.
Which means a quarter of games they have a massive advantage, even if they aren't tryharding.
And whilst there is a difference is bigger between no swf and 2 man swf, and 2 man swf compared to 4 man swf.
The power differential is still there in a 2 man.
Even when they aren't sweating.
Some people don't get that, and you seem to be one.
I also posted these stats just to show how many people seem to play swf to show it's not as little as some think.
Okay do you think BHVR should buff Nurse then? I mean the stats say she is massively underperforming. It might be true that some players are performing so well with her that she is the strongest killer in the game by a mile but no, the stats say she is weak and she needs to be buffed.
Sounds silly right?
How do you explain that the average killer main gets a 3k even though the SWF's have a massive advantage? I'll wait.
Literally all the stats are showing is that most people play with their friends, which we all already knew. Most survivors aren't really good in this game but your stats don't show it.
"The power differential is still there in a 2 man. Even when they aren't sweating." you kinda admitted that the stats aren't showing much.
Cool, SWF's have an advantage, but still 3 of them will die on average. I'll say it again, these stats don't show the actuality of this game. You can't bring stats in a conversation that is DBD related, you literally can't.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
That's the idea. It is possible for them to ignore it but doing so means the final gen is the only gen available. At some point to loosen the killers defense pressure they'll want to take that time to open the gens up.
Yeah but when you think about it, all it would do is denying the killer from a 3 gen strat. In my opinion that would help survivors more than killers.
-
Idea is nice but if 2 gens are blocked, there are still 5 gens open, so in actuality survivors could just ignore them.
-
@ilovedbd123 said:

So 8.5% play a 4 man.but 25% play a 4-3 man(still have a massive affect ) and 50% play a 2+ man swf which still gives an advantage (info between two, can prioritize who unhooks, takes aggro ect. Also where lit totems are if in a chase).
You don't need a sweat squad to win with ease.
I play in a 2-3 man usually as survivor, and am yet to be killed and we don't sweat. We have fun and joke around.
Doesn't mean the killers not at a massive disadvantage in any swf.
Keep trying buddy
To be honest you shouldn't be that focused about stats in DBD. Stats in DBD are always flawed because it only shows the outside and not the inside. For example: Freddy is by the stats the strongest killer in the game, Nurse is the weakest killer with the lowest kill rate, on average 3,2 survivors die in a trial, which would mean survivors are pretty weak and killers too strong. Are these stats reflecting the actuality of this game? not even close. Just because 70% of this community plays SWF doesn't mean they're all rank 1 DS+UB abusing monsters. Killers are in a massive disadvantage? maybe when you play against the top 3% of this playerbase. Am I in a massive disadvantage when I play against 4 rank 17 survivors as a rank 1 killer? hell no. The stats would say I'm in disadvantage but in actuality the survivors are. The stats just say that the majority are swf's but swf isn't just swf, there is a difference between 4 friends on discord and 2 friends on discord with 2 randoms in their lobby. Stats mean nothing in DBD.
-
I think passivs in general could work but they need to be mildly because even low percentages can make a huge difference. They also shouldn't make some perks useless. I believe it would work but I can't think about something currently that wouldn't be too game breaking.
-
The gaming community invented the "tea bag" to be toxic, that's the whole reason. "I don't find tea bagging toxic" good for you but that doesn't mean it isn't toxic.

I'm not the only one who believes it, the majority of the community believes it and the devs said it's a strategy AND it is not bannable so people should stop reporting it.

It's kinda simple. People who complain about NOED are the ones who die frequently to it, which means they're not as good as they think they are. The only thing they see is "Ah one shots at the end" and facts like NOED does nothing in 95% of the time, It's preventable, the killer plays with only 3 perks the entire match get completly ignored. Arguments like "it's impossible to do bones when you play against a good killer" or "I get punished for playing too good" are completly bs. I brought this up on another thread but I found a YT comment that is spot on in my opinion.
1. If the survivors have the upperhand they can easily spare time to break bones. If they dont, they get punished for rushing and a NOED up their a**. AKA it wouldnt have mattered to have NOED.
2. If the game is about 50/50, then NOED doesnt really have that big of an impact. Because enough people would either already be dead or injured by the time NOED can activate. Or survivors have Adrenaline, and NOED counters it. Meaning that it would only matter because you were running Adrenaline in the first place. If you didnt run Adrenaline, NOED wouldnt have mattered in terms of instadowns.
3. If the killer has the upperhand, survivors wont be able to finish gens at all, and in the chance that survivors do finish the gens, they would still be very likely to be injured anyway, meaning the instadown doesnt matter at all, or they have adrenaline, in which case, NOED counters it.
-
I don't know if this perk is underrated but I would bring up Whispers.I haven't watched much DBD content on YouTube lately so I don't know if a lot of people play it but in my opinion Whispers is the best information perk in the game. I use it to find survivors even faster in the beginning, it helps against people who play too immersed, it helps knowing at which exit gate the last survivor is, you can to sneaky little things like waiting that Whispers turns on while standing on the hatch for example. A lot of people say they don't play it because Whispers is a beginner perk and with enough game knowledge you don't need it (which is "kinda" true) but I always say it is quite hard to use for beginners because they can't assess 32m most of the time and it just feels awesome to have. For me Whispers is my all time favorite perk and I think a lot of people underestimate the value of it.
