  • I actually use it to shut the survivors up when I hook them, they scream for eternity otherwise and it's annoying.

Why does BHVR want me to suffer?

Oh I never said those two shouldn’t.

But I understand why Billy doesn’t.

At the end of the day, same thing.

Certain powers are still physically held by the killer and still could down them.

(I understand bleeding out from Legion's Deep Wounds shouldn't and won't count, or stepping on Trapper's Trap with honing stone on. I do want balance, but this seems like a rubbish thing to do)

In the PTB, its only 1 token ingame.

And the obsession isnt affected by this perk.

So you can just hook 3 people and the obsession can rush gens.

Its an interesting idea, but it has too many downsides for the killer.

Wait... Then why make it token based? And why say "Everytime you hook a survivor, gain a token"?

    That's stupid.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Feral Frenzy doesn't count as a basic attack.

It totally should but it doesn't

Legion is gonna get obliterated if the Devs decide to remove Feral Frenzy as part of the basic attack list.

Third Seal won't work, Sloppy won't work, STBFL... The thought makes me wanna cry....

  • I mean, it's token based. They never specified how much tokens you actually get.

I really hope it persists after Death. Also it's not a obsession tunnel perk anymore as you get rewarded for going after literally anyone else.

The EGC change was for a very good reason. I don't think I even need to explain that one, but having the old RBTs with an end game build (toss Blood Warden in there just for good measure) was incredibly overpowered and took no skill to pull off.

The basic attack change is part of an ongoing process to standardize what a basic attack is. The ambush was one of the outliers as it was definitely not a basic attack. It required you to crouch and then charge it first to do something no other killer could do. By all means, there was nothing basic about it.

The reason is to make it more clear which attacks are and aren't basic attacks. It's not very clear what counts when something like an ambush counts while a hatchet doesn't. Both were powers, but only one was actually considered a basic attack before. We'll be reviewing other powers and making sure they're consistent going forward.

I'm worried about that last part. Cause if you guys decide to look at Legion and apply that change, you'll be obliterating a dead horse.

The only thing they got going now is that some perks synergize with Feral Frenzy's stab. Take that away, and Legion will be the single worst killer who can either use their power but not their perks, or not use their power, because of the dumb power regression only the Legion has.

(Spirit doesn't have to wait about five seconds to reuse her Haunting ability after hitting someone)

There will likely be patch notes posted https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/ptb-patch-notes

here either tomorrow or more likely, Tuesday.

I'm sure if there are any controversial changes you'll see some spicy threads.

I'll keep my eyes on the forums.

And of course, there will always be one side who complains over something else. It was funny at first, now I'm getting a wee bit tired from the survivor mains, and my own fellow killer mains.

They very rarely talk about perk changes unless it's meta like when they changed

Calm Spirit, Left Behind, We're Gonna Live Forever, We'll Make It.

when they make minor changes to numbers etc they very rarely discuss it and just let us test it.

While true, it is also not talked about. So whatever the case we won't know until Wednesday. And unfortunately I can't participate on the basis I don't own DbD on computer.

So if anyone could tell me any perk changes that would be lovely.

Two things, first, Predator is getting his own game after all so that offer is sadly already down the drain most likely. Second, the predator species are mostly honorable hunters who only kill equally skilled combatants but if it's a bad blood or dishonored predator, then all bets are off.

Fair points. Still would be cool, and they have so many hunting tools and potential.

Hmn. Wonder what other non human killer could conceivably be added.

(I don't really see why people want Pennywise or Pinhead Larry)

  • Not in this PTB, and certainly not on Tuesday. The new perks will be up and running on Wednesday's PTB, where they would then be liable to change.

Okay, so here's what they say. Filip starts out by saying this

"It was a bit more complicated then we hoped for, with the rig and everything so we had too-". Cote then interjects with saying "often times when we create a killer we try to reuse some of the animations in this case it was almost impossible". Janick then goes on to say "with the prototype we don't use the model but at some point the model comes in and animation over time and replace what it is and with the first few games the feedback we got was, this is so stupid it looks like a guy in a suit". I forgot to mention Netflix themselves actually sent over the rig and mesh to BHVR. No update on the Hag model, sorry.

It fine, and I knew about the rig thing, just saying that the Demogorgon is humanoid enough that it wouldn't break their already broken rules at this point.

Either way, this will be a sight to see in a few days.

In fact in this case there isn't a challenge. The challenge is already lost

Not until you're dead it's not.

  • It's a dumb thing the Forum has.

Basically if you edit too much it triggers the spam filter, and your post that triggered it will disappear until a mod approves it.

It's really dumb but I doubt it'll change.

  • Non-Issue.

Using up 2 add on slots and a perk slot, while also on a 15 second cooldown to using your power if you somehow accidentally use it too soon.

I understand it can be frustrating, but nerfing it to the ground will just summon more Nurses, Billys, and Spirits. This game needs both sides to continue playing, and blatant unneeded nerfs are not the solution. Both sides have to face against things they don'twant to, it's not bad design, it's people not liking to have a challenge.

I'm pretty sure the cooldown for a successful hit is less than four seconds, because I've counted Mad Grit 3's four seconds and have been able to get back to the action before thouse four seconds are up. I think the time for a successful hit cooldown is in the range of 2 seconds, enough for Mad Grit Tier 1 to at least come close to mitigating the cooldown. I think Tier 2 and up have enough of a wiggle pause to offset the cooldown and then some.

That was me guessing, but yes, I'm pretty sure you are correct in your statement. Whichever way you splice it, Mad Grit is useful.

  • The four seconds in which they can't move the wiggle timer up is roughly (I think) the same successful hit recovery time you get. So it's essentially removing the downside of hitting survivors who body block.

    Sure send away!

I didn't include Susie and Joey because they are extra skins so not everybody has them, but if you do you can use whatever Legion member you desire.

The cooldown is long because I don't know if it can be abused in any way, but it can be reduced.

As for the perks, when you load-out your primary Legion you load-out also your secondary one.

So Let's say you start with Frank (your main) with ruin, corrupt, thanatophobia and pop to maximise gen regression

and you can switch to Susie (secondary) with BBQ, Enduring, Bamboozle and brutal strength to optimize your chasing potential.

These two are already loaded in when you log into the game.

I feel there needs to be a cooldown to avoid using Susie to down a survivor and then switch to Frank to activate pop and then back to Susie to chase again. With some cooldown you cannot do this too fast.

Unfortunately if we make this too strong survivors will start to DC and we are back to square 1

I'll send it to your profile, so no one here would see off topic links (even though it is in topic technically)

Regarding the cooldown, I very much doubt it can be abused with how you say they start off in Feral Frenzy and that they can't attack while using it. What you described was them making smart plays, and keep in mind a locker isn't always close by, switching would be a mistake most of the time, especially giving survivors ample time to coordinate if they are smart.

Thank you for explaining though :) I can certainly get behind something like this.

  • So... What? We nerf Myers when he uses Monitor and Abuse too? Give his Tier 1 a larger terror radius?

Ana Prayer Beads are fine. As @Kerbert said, it has no use in a chase. And it's only really good for the first time in a match. On niche situations like the Game or Lery's I guess it is overpowered, but those are two maps out of like 20-30. Keep an eye out, look around, actually observe.

The Spirit can't be everywhere at once.

  • While the idea is... Okay, why not all gour members? Susie and Joey need love too ;3;

I am also confused why the cooldown is so long, when it basically means nothing in the long run, and how would we determine who the second member is, what petks are picked, etc.

Otherwise, I like the idea and it would certainly make the Legion unique.

Also, I had a similar idea like this, it's been lost to time however. If you are interested I can send you a link in your profile.

Tapp survived his throat wound. It was a bullet that almost killed him.

That said, new people becoming playable doesn't mean they just got pulled into the Fog. The Fog is like Mementos in Persona 5: It's big, it's confusing, and it exists between reality and imagination. In short, it's as big and complex as the mind or minds it's made up of, and we'll never see all of it. There's a ton of survivors and killers lost or hiding in it. For all we know, characters like The Prowler or Jack the Ripper are waiting for their chance to strike (or a licensing deal to be struck). There's no doubt the Entity is growing stronger, but "ignoring time" when it exists in a realm devoid of the concept is not really a sign of it.

I need to read Tapp's bio again ^^', but the point still stands, no matter what canonically killed him in SAW, was healed in the Entity's realm. It takes people before death can actually happen. Like Bill, Adam, Jane. On that note, I'll edit my post a bit after this message is sent.

When I say 'Ignoring time', I mean time as humans have conceptualized it. Time for us is different for other beings. What is straightforward to us, is not even glanced at by something that has no concept of or even felt by it.

And you hit the nail on the coffin with that last bit, even the devs said there is more then what you see, and that goes into that 'ignoring time' thing. In the linear way we see it, the killers get added as is. But for the survivors, they could've always been facing after the Demogorgon even before we could play it. That's the main idea that I had. But I always word things weird when it's long posts like these.

    @Cornpopers_Evan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/662223#Comment_662223

On a completely unrelated note, I actually find it quite cool that the devs finally bit the bullet and actually did create a new rig and all new animations just for the Demogorgon. I remember them even specifically saying they tried using the same model and animations like all other killers but nobody was able to take it seriously and would just laugh at it.

The structure is still human, unless they changed that and I wasn't made aware. Look at the Hag, her animation is all gangly and horrifying to see chasing after you, but her skeletal rig is still classified as human. But yes, the Demogorgon's animations are amazing.

    Also

@Sotarnicus, the best display of power the Entity has ever shown was taking Kate Denson straight out of our world physically. Up until then, most survivors only appeared because they were in a location of great atrocity, otherwise known as where the killers you see have committed their crimes.

  • -drinking tea- This dumpsterfire of a thread.

@Sirbloodninja, the thing that concerned me the most was that you said you couldn't hear the bing bong due to a generator.

    Please say sike right now.

  • Time is not something the Entity cares about. For all we know, the Plague is the second killer who ever appeared in the Fog and we just now are able to play as her. Time is meaningless to a being outside of the concept, allowing it to do whatever it damn well pleases.

Also, no one in DbD's canon is actually really dead. Tapp and Bill, both died canonically in SAW and Left 4 Dead, respectively. But in Dead by Daylight's canon, they were grabbed and healed before their hearts stopped.

Also while the Demogorgon is not human, it is humanoid. Which the devs said is all that matters so they won't have to waste time investing in a new skeleton for a non-humanoid animal killer.

  • Legion. Getting stabbed irl like that will be a death sentence. Not the puny papercuts the survivors get.

  • To be fair both sides need to put a sock in it. I hope you don't believe it is just the killer's complaining, as survivors complain just as much.

I play survivor as well, believe it or not. I know their struggles, but I play killer a lot more, and let me tell you, I face a lot of 4men swfs who enjoy subjecting me to torture.

Different experiences for different people. I understand if survivor mains don't see why killer mains complain, but it also means they are inheritly ignorant to the other side. Same for killer mains for survivor main problems. Unfortunately nothing will change cause people just suck.

i mean more like into lore i guess ? spirit - wraith - ghostface , all 3 in name are kinda same so i guess i mean that xd

Ghost Face isn't affiliated with anything supernatural with his power. He doesn't travel to the spirit realm nor can he phase to places. In lore he is just a human without special powers.

I really wish they called him the Stalker, or something like that.

  • I don't see the appeal of Pennywise being in Dead by Daylight, is it possible? I guess.

Also what about Wraith and Spirit? Wraith is human, just covered in twigs and shiz. And Spirit is just cut up but otherwise still technically human.

    Also @Chaotic_Riddle

    Humanoid-

    adjective

    1. having an appearance or character resembling that of a human.

    noun

    1. (especially in science fiction) a being resembling a human in its shape.

Demogorgon is humanoid in appearance. While at some point the Devs probably said they didn't want inhuman killers, I guess now they just don't want killers who don't have a human bone structure.

  • @Cornpopers_Evan said:

I also got a strange feeling that the Demogorgon might have a bio the length of the OG 3 and the Entity is basically putting it in a trial and saying "go nuts", I hope not though.

    God I hope not.

For what it's worth, Trapper had the best Bio since it basically explained the events leading up to when he appears in the Fog in a simple way.

  • Actually, no survivor actually dies when they are taken. And this is gonna make me cry but I'll list the reasons for each.

Dwight- He got so drunk he got lost in the woods never seen again.

Meg- I think she went for a run. Never seen again.

Claudette- Took a stroll, got lost and appeared in the Fog.

Jake- Was taken at some point, there was no body or signs of a struggle.

Nea- Took a dare to tag the Asylum the Nurse worked, never seen again. No body or sign of a struggle.

    Laurie- Never actually explained.

Ace- He ran away from his debt collectors, never seen again.

Bill- Taken while at Death's door. Still alive.

Feng- Got drunk a bunch of times, eventually woke up in the Fog.

David- Eventually disappeared to no surprise by his remaining friends. Not dead.

    Quentin- Explained above by others.

Tapp- Taken just BEFORE he bled out in DbD's canon events. Which branch from SAW's lore.

Kate- Literally ripped from our world to the Fog by the Entity.

Adam- Got in a train crash, his body was never found nor was there blood.

Jeff- When to the Lodge where he painted the Legion Mural. Never seen again.

Jane- Got in a car crash. No blood or body was discovered.

    Ash- Explained above.

Answers found in the characters bios by the way. You just gotta read.

They should really go back and expand upon the Hillbillys and Wraiths lore, they feel so dry even compared to Trappers but ultimately all three are pretty bare-bones.

Interesting, but you are saying one of the few. Which are the other ones? If I recall correctly, only Myers has the ability to kill a survivor without using an offering.

    I can answer this.

Hag- She basically made a deal with the Entity when she was on her last legs, deliriously drawing the symbols taught to her before a dark hunger rose inside her. She plays by the rules because she is basically offered a chance to sate her endless hunger.

Huntress- She doesn't know anything else but killing. One of her perks also allows for her to break free of the Entity momentarily and what does she do? Continue hunting survivors.

Nightmare- He lives for killing and wants vengeance against Quinten. Even in his Bio it states he doesn't care who he kills anymore, new people will become his favorite.

Pig- She sees being in the Fog as a second chance for herself.

Clown- He was a killer long before he entered the Fog. And the horse you see in Father Campbell's chapel was Clown's reward for going willingly.

Spirit- Her rage made the Entity change her mind about taking Rin's father, and taking her. Promising her that she'll have her vengeance. That is the only reason she is staying there willingly.

Legion- I'm guessing Frank only agreed due to being able to be with his friends.

Plague- In a way she was tricked or something I guess. As she was basically dead before she was nabbed.

Ghost Face- He's basically evil Spider-Man. And when he appeared in the Fog he just smiled under his mask.

Note:These killers also have no signs of physical torture from the Entity. And none of them needed to be persuaded by her to do her bidding. Every other killer had been tortured in some way, be it mentally or physically. The most extreme examples being the Trapper and the Doctor.

  • This is so non-issue I actually died a little inside.

The skin looks amazing by the by.

  • Nah, just run the perk itself.

Ruin built in would really put a strain on a lot of people.

So basically you want the Wraith to spam uncloak...whilst the other guy here wants him always invisible ?

Btw Freddy full on invisibility was removed bc it was deemed OP so I doubt they'd bring it back so quickly.

Dunno why I'm bothering with you. But Wraith was always able to spam uncloak. They do it all the time anyways. I just want the Wraith to be a better killer, theoretically this change would stop or decrease camping and tunneling as the Wraith could have more options.

    @Raptorrotas said:

Must be one of the few who hate the speed curve on wraith, whats the point of an inbuild speed burst if you get slowed down to a standstill beforehand?

(Isnt that the reason clowns throw-charging movement speed penalty was removed?)

Also about wraith: making him completely invisible if x (16<x<32) metres away might help him.

Complete invisibility would be nice, but it wouldn't change much more then standing still does. That's why I didn't include that.

    *Look at the comments above*

Definetly not the only one seeing this wouldn't change anything and would increase the Wraith camping.

Like make His invisibility faster ? For what reasons other than coming back to a hook invisible faster ? Wraith isn't about chase.

He should be like the Pig or Myers trying to jump scare you...he never does tho.

You obviously haven't read it. Let me explain it just this once.

When uncloaking, the Wraith moves much more slower and when fully uncloaked, he gets a sprint burst effect for like a second. What I want is to remove or decrease that uncloaking slow down.

    Read next time.

  • @TheUnendingNightmare said:

Buff the Wraith ? You can't be serious. You like being camp and tunnel every game ?

    What?

What I suggested has no correlation on the Wraith's ability to camp or not. It actually correlates to how good he is in a chase.

Setting in variables where terms have to be met could work.

It could, it won't be me complaining, but there will be a outcry.

It's a solid idea, but the game needs to be fixed.

  • Or... OR.... And hear me out.

Instead of shutting him up just ask for a option to disable dialogue.

  • There are like 3 stealth killers (not counting Tier 1 Myers) out of everyone else. This is so literally non-issue I just wheezed in Clown.

  • Decisive Strike 2.0?

In all seriousness I doubt this would ever fly, especially with the weird glitch that prevents anything but locker grabs 75% percent of the time. (Not a real statistical number)

  • If 5 gens are left remaining and you massacre the survivors to the point only one is left and can escape, that survivor was pretty garbage and would've died that match.

Now, I'll admit it can also be the extreme opposite but this about the Op destroying survivors, so in this case the Hatch was rewarding failure.

And if you are the believer that NoEd rewards failure the hatch is literally the equivalent of NoEd. This is not even getting by the fact I am mostly siding with Survivors here that this is a non issue, so learn to read and get you condescending tone out of here.
