Even high ranked killers, including me, tunnel.
Now do we do it all the time? No of course not, but if it's the favourable situation, such as chasing an injured unhooked survivor over a healthy one, we are going to go for it.
Now that ain't tunneling. That's capitalising on a mistake being made.
Tunneling is where you focus on one specific person to get them outta the game. E.G you see two survivors on a gen but only go after one of them even though the other one is a weaker chaser because you've mamabefd to hook the one your going to chase already.
That's tunneling. Not the functional shift it's gone though.

Firstly report the person on the platform.
Secondly. Ask him to tell you your own address if he's so desperate to physically harm you. If he gives you your exact address then go file a police report.

It'd be nice but combine it with stuff like brutal strength and wraiths action speed add ons it could prove troublesome.
It'd be the equivalent of a survivor having ds just randomly start to begin its immunity timer while your in chase.

Exactly, especially We'll Make It is useful to know, that makes sense the game would tell you this as this is not something you as a player through experience can know, same for if you are under the effect of Borrowed Time.
Cameradrie (while honestly needing to be reversed in function) also should tell other survivors that you have it when you are on the hook so they can make use of that.
Im now also thinking of "Make Your Choice" and how it tells you exactly how long that is still lasting... like is the shout you do when you unhook someone not enough for you to know you should play carefully/stealthy for a bit.... come on, this freaking handholding is just nonsense.
I know. But for exposed perks it kinda makes sense for them to know how long they're exposed for....unless it's Michael t3. In that case the map wide tune should be enough to know "haha I'm exposed oh god oh heck"

Alright then negative Nancy, you keep telling yourself that and maybe one day it'll come true.
As for you point about there being no incentive : no there isn't. Not at the moment. That's why they need to introduce one.

Do you ever take a moment to think "hey. I've got no valid point to make so ill just try to insult this person who's opinion I don't agree with" before commenting? Or do you just talk trash about everyone who thinks that this game is unbalanced event slightly in the survivors favour?
I do understand why people dc. But if you give them an incentive to stay in the match instead of dcing or suiciding on hook early it's likely to at least have some impact on people quitting early.

You take what perks worked on legion before their ff got butchered (stblf no longer gains stacks from it) and you put it on deathslinger and then realise you can actually use exposed perks
-
In this proposed addition to the game....it'd be bad in the following ways
If it was at the start of a game : it'd be like old 3 man games which nobody enjoyed.
If it was when 1 gen was left : removes any chance for the killer to make a comeback if there's 4 survivors alive. If there's only 2 left alive it essentially gives them a free escape.
The only scenario where it's somewhat good is when there's 2-3 gens left. But then by that point if one person dies its way easier for the killer to snowball which'd result in more dcing.
It'd just be a buff to dc culture.

Here's the full match for everyone saying that because it wasn't a full match it wasn't sufficient evidence.
Also remember. This player is a hag main, not a huntress main. It's not exactly easy to consistently land cross map hatchets unless you've sunk around 2,500 hours into huntress alone

If anyone wants any advice on how they can keep enjoying the game :
Ignore your objective and set yourself smaller goals
Maybe it's to get better at mindgaming so you spend a match practicing
Or maybe you want to see how well you can do as you constantly t bag as ghost face
Or how well you can do without any audio.
If you ignore the mandatory set goal and make your own up the game becomes a little more bearable

So if you've seen this....you realise it's a prime example of what people mean when they say generators go to fast right? In the minute twenty five before the clip this killer was doing its job. Chasing people. He had a slowdown perk like most people say to run if you don't want gens to pop like mad...but what's the point in running it if in the time it takes to get 1 hook and starting 1 chase 3 gens pop? Even if he'd ran corrupt intervention it wouldn't have stopped gens from going to fast, because only 3 are blocked. And you can't chase and pressure gens at the same time, because you have to follow the survivor they could lead you away from the remaining gens which means your forced to let them go...making them essentially invulnerable.
And yet....there's people saying that this is completely fine. They say thing like "oh bet you got a 4k" or "show us the first min and 25".
Firstly. I heavily doubt he got anything more than 1 kill. Because while he's chasing that nea it gives the other two time to pump out those last 2 gens. They can leave that person on the hook and it'd be advantageous to them.
Secondly we know exactly what happened in The 1st min and 25 . The player found a survivor, got looped for a while. And then got a hook, your standard average killer gameplay...
And yet people are trying to straw man this into "this player wants to 4k every single match".
Because they can't argue that this is fair
This is why survivor ques are so long and why everyone plays either Freddy or a mobility killer : because most killers don't have the resources to deal with this nor an early game to prevent it .
I remember hearing otz saying that only the old nurse could come back from having all 4 survivors heal with adrenaline at the end of the game. I doubt even in her prime she could've dealt with this....then again this might've never happened under her because her chase times were so low.

So you're saying that the fact that some killers find it difficult to get any hooks before that second generator has popped is a problem, because at that point they're too far on the back foot to make a comeback unless they play perfectly from that point onward. The fact that it's possible for generators to get done that quickly is what you're referring to as killers having "no early game", and you think that's bad because killers need that time to build up pressure in order to have a chance at an eventual win.
In other words, your argument boils down to:
(a) [Premise] Killers need to build up pressure before the second generator is completed in order to snowball effectively and eventually win the game, and
(b) [Premise] Killers, in general, do not have the time or abilities they need to build up sufficient pressure during this period, therefore
(c) [Conclusion] Killers, in general, are not equipped with the necessary resources to win games.
Would you say that's a fair and accurate summary? Feel free to correct me if not.
I'd like to preface this with sorry if my language or points have been basic but weaving this around lessons and stuff hasn't been easy but :
A and B I agree with, you've summerised those premises concicely
C is the debatable one. While killers do have rescouces they need to win games like a trappers traps... They don't have enough time to prepare them. However each killers resources are diffrent. Such as ghostface compared to pig etc.
Have I made sense or does my words just look like dribble on a kitchen wall?

Alright. So when you say "Killers don't have an early game", what does that mean in relation to the killer's objective? If 2/3 generators pop within the first couple of minutes, is that always a problem, even if the killer has already got maybe 3-4 hooks in that time? Is it only a problem for some killers, like Trapper, who need to sacrifice early setup for early chases/hooks or vice versa?
If a killer somehow managed to get 3/4 hooks in the early game they're doing well. That's not a problem.
However I think it's a problem for most killers rather than concidering within this early game you not only need to locate a survivor but sometimes you have to walk all the way across the map, usually this results in you getting only 1 down by the time 2 gens have popped which makes it too easy for survivors to snowball off.
Snowballing dictates how viable killers are in this fast paced meta. Killers like oni and the shape have a weaker early game.... However because oni's snowballing potential is so high it makes up for it. Myres snowball potential might be high in chase but it provides next to no map pressure which means the value of his snowball isn't as high. Etc etc.
While you could slug and attempt to go for a second down.... There's so many anti slug perks in the game it's unreal.
But concidering you can blow right through both the early and mid game in a minute and 25....i don't even think spirit could cope with it

Sure. Do hooks enter into it at all? Like if the killer 3-hooks everyone before the second generator has popped, did that all happen in the early game?
In my view of what the early game is. I guess so.
hooks are also an objective , but if we start using hooks to dictate the game....I don't feel right saying that having 5 hooks when there's 5 gens left the "mid game". Additionally if hooks are used to dictate the state of the game....0 hooks when 5 gens are complete isn't anywhere near early game.
While it is important to consider both I chose to view the current state of the trial in terms of gens to keep it relatively simple instead of having to remember 356 more number combinations

Alright, lets say you earn 2 perks per blood web, meaning at level 50 you would have a total of 100 perks out of the 234 perks. Leaving 134 perks to still get. As you are getting two perks per web, you need to complete 67 webs for a total of 2.3 million BP. Meaning to perk out one survivor would cost you 3.9 million BP and take you roughly 26 hours. To P3 and perk out a survivor it would cost you 5.5 million BP and take you roughly 37 hours to do so.
Which yes does shorten the grind, but 26 hours to perk out a single survivor seems kinda long to me.
It is. But that's just what I'd like to see if the devs are adamant that they're keepi g perk tiers
-
Or at least, if they don't wanna remove perk tiers make it so you get 2 perks guaranteed per bloodweb. Not just at the max level
-
To be honest I've taken a break from dbd and instead I've been playing bl3. While there are frustrating elements about it the devs actually HOTFIX changes into the game around one a week I think and it's really apreachiated.
My main gripe is that I have to wait a month and a half for 2 or 3 changes that could've easily been number buffs slid through in a hotfix... My ac keeps correcting hotfix to be fully capitalised idk y
-
The only problem I can see is that if someone is running an unbreakable and not getting to use it if everyone gets slugged.
I'd make the base timer around 18 seconds. Apart from this you've smashed it outta the Park. Well done

Well, if you're asking for my opinion, it depends how you define "early game". I would be inclined to say no, because although the first generator was done within 30 seconds, the next one didn't get done until about three minutes after that, by which point he already had 3 hooks. So all things considered, I would say he dominated what I would define as the early game, in spite of that first generator going off quickly.
Objectively speaking, that video isn't evidence of much more than that generators can get repaired in under 30 seconds, which is something everyone already knows. It's such an obvious fact that it's not even worth discussing. What is worth discussing is whether that's a problem, and if so, why. Otz's video doesn't demonstrate anything to the effect of generator times being a problem or killers having no early game. If anything, it demonstrates the opposite.
Now, that's not to say that those statements ("generator times are a problem" and "killers have no early game") are conclusively untrue, but this is exactly the point I'm trying to make about using bad evidence to back up a claim. It's too easy to discredit the argument by pointing out that the evidence is faulty. An argument accompanied by evidence which its proponents claim supports it, but actually does the opposite, is even less credible than a simple assertion with no evidence behind it. That's why video posts like that one get criticised much more harshly than mere assertions most of the time - not because they're videos, but because more often than not, they don't prove what the poster is trying to pretend they do.
Why can't I get a civil discussion which makes valid points backed up like this on the regular? Thanks for your information and I'll try my best to work on how I present an argument to cause a debate on a matter. I might try using the technique I have to use in essays when forming them. Have a good day

You’re missing the point of what people are saying. People aren’t saying that streamers that play this game 24/7 can’t come back from this.

If the evidence is sound, I don't see why anyone should have a problem with it. Personally, I've never seen anyone respond negatively on the forums to a video that accurately represents a reasonable claim.
Okay. So can I ask if using the most recent otz video where a gen gets done in 27 seconds is solid enough evidence that killers really don't have an early game?
-
@Fibijean said:
People take issue with others presenting flawed evidence that doesn't support their argument, as they rightfully should. No one has a problem with linking videos in general, or looks down on it. It's just easier to pick apart bad evidence than a simple opinion post.
That's fair. But what if its someone linking a video that shows an example of the issue that they are talking about
E. G : if there was a a loop setup that made it so that a killer could always land a hit on the survivor even if they fast vaulted the person would show a clip from a video showing this so they could provide an example of what they mean
-
@ohheyitsbobcat said:
There's nothing wrong with linking videos and that's not peoples issue here, to a degree.
The issue is that people love to pick one game out of many showing a streamer having a hard time and then use that to call balance into question even though said streamer will still win a majority of their games.
It makes it look like you're mad the streamer was unable to steamroll people like normal and then when they get a 4k anyway it makes it even worse.
It's not your intention by any means but that's just how it comes off and it can annoy people. Streamer wins 75 games out of 100, streamer ties in 24 more games, streamer loses 1 game or has a really really hard time so people pick that one game and then complain about it.
It just makes one roll their eyes because balance talk, early game changes and other things like that are great and interesting subjects to discuss. Showing a streamer having to work slightly harder for that 4k and using that to call balance into question and then argue for early game changes is not. There are just way too many uncontrolled variables in such an example to be of any significant use.
If you wanted to share a video and talk about early game chanages, you would have been better of showing a video of a streamer directly talking about early game changes and various things that could be done to switch things up. It would have likely been a lot more effective and got people to talk more on the subject you wanted instead of just about the streamer.
Thanks I'll attempt to do that in future :)

There is a lot of people here complaining About the stuff the killer does, but that isn't the point. The point is that if it were a setup killer, like the trapper, then that first gen and the map compounds against the killer. If it were somebody else, like a green rank on consoles, most people would give up. This game is not balanced as it should. Killers shouldn't be against survivors that are way too good for the killer, or survivors that can't do crap. The ranking system and the stupid maps are the problems, and most killers couldn't come back from that. If otz had been a god tier huntress or nurse, the map and gens wouldn't matter because they are the best killers on PC. Console, however, the best is Billy. BILLY! Good survivors can escape Billy easily, on console. Because the skill gap on survivor is so much lower than killer, then killers are gonna stop playing, and the problems a lot of low ranks are having are gonna get worse, killer or survivor.
Thanks for actually reading the post :) updoots ahoy

So what you should really take from this video is. Should I run corrupt and pop? I would say on Clown yes.

The Deathslinger might not be good as Legion in injuring many survivors, but he can get the first hit quite easily. If survivors are grouped up it's possible to injure many.
With a normal m1 attack. Yes. But to apply deep wounds to them? No. You also have to take into account that the chain has to be broken. You can't just cancel it to apply the deep wound. And that'd take more time to do that it buys the killer.
-
Imo opening the hatch should be an add on for the map and then integrate the aura reading abilities of the key into maps
But having a key is a free escape if your thr last one alive. Combine it with left behind and there's nothing a killer can do about it, exept attempt to try to down you. But with the current trend of hatches spawning right in front of a survivor unless you can insta down they're gonna escape thanks to the speedboost.
The problem with moris and keys is that each relevant side can't do anything to combat their strong effect.
If for each survivor that got moried generator speed got increased by a percentage that'd be.... Interesting
But you can't really do that for a key because it's effect is a simple one and done thing, additionally it also let's thr killers aura be read which is a huge advantage that not alot of people talk about (blood Amber)

Yes. All 1 of them. Or 4 depending on your use of terminology
Deathslinger while being able to apply deep wounds cannot do so quickly, without suffering a 4 second stun each time.
Legions the deep wounds killer, for deathslinger it just feels like They hacked it on so that having your chain broken against a healthy survivor wasn't too much of a downside to make the stun almost worth it.
