to now refer to almost anything Survivors do in a chase that isn't crouching.
Wrong. Please don't spread false information.
Nothing I said was wrong, tyvm. You do realize you're just one person, right?
Killers most definitely use "holding W" to mean literally anything the Survivor does in a chase, regardless of what that term means to you or the OP. You really need to pay more attention if you've somehow never heard a killer talk about a survivor who is straight up looping them like any competent player should, only to get hit with a "Wow, this Surv's just holding W, what a pro."
-
In that it's gone from referring to killers who mindlessly follow a Survivor and let them dictate every step of the chase, and who wind up getting looped until the Survivor makes a mistake, to now refer to almost anything Survivors do in a chase that isn't crouching.
-
This game has never not been garbage. We just manage to love it in spite of that. It's easier to think of why you can't stand the game now than it is to remember why the game was even worse however many chapters ago.
-
I still can't get over how killers have totally reclaimed and reversed what "Holding W" means now.
-
This is one of those bugs that's been fixed before, but suddenly comes back after one patch or another and then goes who knows how long before they finally address it again. Right now it's definitely back in full swing, and I can't stand it.

Cakes were bugged and didn't stack the last 2 anniversaries, don't know why people are surprised to know they are bugged again.
The issue is that they're not bugged again, details from an unfinished event were leaked early and now people are rashly assuming nothing will change before the actual release.
-
I'm cracking up at the OP saying they "won" ever Nurse match going on three years, lost once, and that's the problem here.

They're already annoying enough as is. They interrupt every gen I'm on.
I think from Nemesis' perspective it's easy to miss just how often zombies push people off gens. For Survivors it's annoying af. There's nothing like killing one zombie and having the other one roll up seconds later. Not to mention when they spawn or respawn right by a generator. If their routing bugs out then the zombies might not accomplish much, but otherwise they do their job well.

I wasnt around yet and did not know that, what were the problems?
Off the top of my head, definitely not a complete list here...
The original Pale Rose was absolutely gigantic. Killers still hate some of the larger maps in the game because of how hard they are to patrol and Pale Rose was much bigger than anything we have now. The funny thing is the map was so large it was awful for Survivors too because it took so long to get anywhere.
The new perks were garbage. Ace is still considered one of the worst Survivors for teachables and that's after they've buffed things Open-Handed and Ace in the Hole multiple times. You'd think introducing Ruin alone would have made the chapter amazing, but iirc Ruin didn't actually work properly on release. And even if it had, great skill checks were almost impossible to miss back then so it still would have been a bad perk. The only perk that was halfway decent at the time was Devour Hope, but it's original effect made it obvious when the killer was running it as soon as it got the first token.
The Hag herself was terrible on release. Current Hag is good at camping. Release Hag was only good for camping. Her teleport was too slow to do anything else.
Terrible map, terrible killer, terrible survivor. And that was just the new content. The worst part was all the game-breaking bugs with older stuff. Things like the Nurse being totally unable to blink through random areas on certain maps on one side, or the Hag being completely immune to DS on the other. And to top if off, everyone figured out how to glitch and stack any perk and use any killer power on any character. Although supposedly that was on old exploit, this was the chapter that the secret got out and everyone learned how to use ridiculous BS like Myers with a Chainsaw running Bond/Empathy. Truly a miserable time to be playing DBD (or a great time to quit it).
-
Flesh and Mud is still the only chapter that was so terrible BHVR was forced to stop putting out new content for six months.
BoK at least had an awesome Survivor.
-
I echo most of what's being said so far. The content itself is nice, and I'm enjoying what's actually working. The map not being playable drags things down though. I'd give it a 6 or 7/10. But even comparing just the Perks/Killer to the Perks/Killers of the past year I like this chapter a lot.
-
I thought he was all laggy on console anyway?
On PC w/o Crossplay Nemesis has been by far the most common for me every day since his release. To compare to the last few releases, Trickster and Twins had definitely died down by this point.

The Adam one is slightly different from his default. The Jill cosmetic is actually identical.

People can't even play the damn game....console is completely assed out. Not to mention the sorry excuse of a killer release, on top of sound bugs...like ######### even....
And you see, what you just said there is a coherent complaint. You listed various problems that bothered you about the update. Fine.
What the OP did was just spew out a bunch of expletives. His post only makes even a little bit of sense if you happen to also be dissatisfied with things.
-
OP still hasn't discovered the Enter key, I see.
There wasn't a single substantive complaint in this weird rant until the end where you complained about the map not being available. Which, sure, you're right that it's lame the map is broken, but otherwise that entire post was just a bunch of random, angry sentences.
-
Maybe.
I actually inadvertently ended up using the new version during the PTB. It and Iron Will were some of the few perks my Leon got to Tier 3 while I was unlocking his teachables, so I ran that combo for a bit. I wasn't impressed. And this was before I realized I wasn't even using the 45 second version because it had been buffed in the PTB. I'll probably try it again with a dedicated build to see if I like it more, but I'm not expecting to.

How do you get a refund for the skins?
There was a tweet about it. The message itself is kind of ambiguous though; says for anyone who purchased in the 'first 24 hours' but the issue was only for like the first hour. IDK.
-
Scummy or not, they're currently offering full refunds to anyone who purchased those skins. Just refund them.

Hang on. Let's recap...
You: This is the worst chapter EVER!
Me: No, this one was worse.
You: Elitist.
lol.
-
When you say stuff like this, it doesn't even feel like you're even saying anything about the chapter. More like you're just letting everyone know this is the first chapter release you've been around for.
TBH, even the people saying All-Kill and BoK just makes me think they weren't playing back during Flesh and Mud i.e. the chapter that actually nearly killed the game.

you should know always check here first :)
but in all seriousness, sorry that you started the whole validation thing, hopefully that won't take long.
Yeah, I should have known.
Thankfully, looks like I'm already halfway done. :D
-
Bleh, I come here and see this thread just after I started validating my files thinking it was on my end.
-
Better sound effects would easily go a long way. There's nothing spooky about a vacuum cleaner.
-
Of all the complaints I've seen about this new chapter, this is by far the most inane. So congrats for that.
-
I don't think they affect the menu portraits.
-
Odd that someone who's mastered Nurse would play a new killer for a few hours, decide the learning curve is too difficult, and declare said killer weak.

Yeah I bet other big names are going to think twice now before they engage with BHVR.
I'd take you up on that bet.
A few launch bugs isn't going to stop Capcom from raking in massive amounts of $$$, which is the only thing any big name cares about.
-
I'm still getting it, been on it twice now and at least once after they announced it was "disabled".

wait... are you saying pebble affects the zombies?
It does. Or, it did in the PTB.
-
The faux outrage right on cue is adorable as usual.
As if you all even used Franklin's.
As if Survivors didn't just drop their key in a safe spot on the rare chance someone DID bring Franklin's.
Just another day in forum.dbd.
-
Joking or no, as usual when people use that term around here, that's not spaghetti code.
-
Yep, now after seeing the video version, I'm sure: this is the best remodel so far.
-
I love this one. I'd need to see it in action to be sure, since the live video always looks different from the model, but I think this is my favorite rework yet.
-
Like a few posters above me, I also really liked the previous test run, shrug. I'm genuinely surprised by how rough it's been for me this time.
-
It literally says "suggestion" in its title.
-
The smile was awkwardly pasted on his face no matter the situation. It stuck out like a sore thumb and it's good thing it's on its way out.

The size difference between the two heads alone is the most extreme change from these reworks yet.
I'm not an Ace player, but for this update, I like what they've done.

That punishes players who main 1 killer or even if they play more killers they'll still have 1 that is their favourite or the one where they do better with. Survivors don't have that issue, survivors are just skins. Just playing killers who you don't regularly play so you can enjoy the game without sweating isn't a good strategy for the game.
There's nothing punishing about it. If you do well with a killer, the system is intended to give you opponents who will give you a fair match. If you have less experience with a different killer, it's intended to the exact same thing and you get weaker opponents to compensate.
If only it actually worked...

But it can´t be both. It can´t provide easy killer matches, while also providing easy survivor matches.
?
This isn't a binary killer/survivor issue.
Even just one-on-one, if a good killer gets matched with a bad survivor, then naturally good survivors are also likely to be being matched with bad killers? But the game is 4v1, so it's even easier for one or two good players to be matched with three to four bad ones.
-
Same experience as you OP, except on the Survivor side. The difference between the last test and this one is night and day.
-
Last MMR round I was playing with a solid and experienced group of players. They were way better than my average teammates and the killers were all competent.
It's pretty much the opposite this time. Absolute muppetry.
-
Even without MMR, purples facings reds is totally fair. There's no meaningful difference between the two.
-
The videos and the models always look so different. This time I actually like the in-motion version a lot more than the model, everything but his lips look better.
-
I'm torn, old David's jagged features always looked odd to me. The new one is nicer, but it feels like that's only because it's simpler. A lot of these reworks feel like they just removed some of the characters' features entirely rather than actually improving them. His ears are still freakish in both versions, at least.

Dbd community ######### everytime anything get reworked, they want the old ass 32-bit asset and 3mb texture we used to have because they don't care they already play stretched with ultra low settings.😅
I kinda like nea rework.
Yeah, Nea's new model is fine, imo. She's still hideous but she does look better. And seriously, she's needed a do-over since the day she came out, this is long overdue for her.
-
I'm assuming you're on PC? They're probably checking profiles and seeing something that spooks them. Killers dodge for a lot of weird reasons. If you see it happening over and over though, there's a chance it's the same killer. If you ready up again immediately after leaving a lobby with crossplay off, you often get put in the exact same lobby, and it's surprisingly common to meet players who are patient enough to dodge a lobby, but not patient enough to wait for the lobby they just left to fill up.
-
Oof, this poll is confusing. I voted ST because it's by far my least favorite licensed chapter. I wasn't interested when it was announced and at this point they could still delete the entire chapter and I wouldn't mind at all. Ghostface is a distant but solid second least fave.
My favorite would probably be Halloween.
-
Claudette, during the first blood hunt iirc.
-
Pretty sure they're talking about cases where someone states they they griefed or tunneled someone specifically because of the charm.

I don't see it with Jake to me he seems more of a loner if anything.
TIL Loners don't have sexualities?
I could see them doing this with Jake, but I did expect them to make a new character for whatever they're planning. You wouldn't think it would take them a year to make a collaborative Tome for an existing character.
