A killer, that desperately relies on dedicated maps with low walls or massive dead zones, is indeed very nicely designed!
It's almost like Killers need to have weaknesses.

We have Demogorgon, non-humanoids can work
Slither I don't see working because the worms are tiny brain slugs and I don't see how it could translate
Hol up.
Demo is most definitely humanoid in the source material.

imo the hatch should only spawn if all gens are done. Alot of survs are getting free escapes they didnt deserve and killers will slug for the 4k which is annoying too.
The Killer is no more entitled to a 4k because they killed 3 Survivors than a Survivor is entitled to a gate escape because they did all 5 generators.
Sheesh the entitlement on these forums is strong, on both sides.

As long as the server registers the pallet drop, even if it is a millisecond before the hit registers on your screen, the hit will be rolled back. You can't get hits before the pallet animation stuns anymore. The best we can hope is for BHVR to remove this update, or for them to fix the hits even connecting on the killer screen, so people don't feel cheated. Right now this change is very survivor sided, and as someone who plays 50/50, I believe this change is not good.
And it sucks for survivors to be punished for using the only consistent defence they have, which also is a limited resource.

Twins are in a bit of a unique situation.
I would trade a shorter CD on succesful pounce for an actual CD on Victor that isn't like 5 seconds long. You kick the damn thing and he comes right back.
But, I am severely biased in the fact that I don't like anything about Twins since I first saw them in PTB and, nothing about Victor respawining in her chest makes any sense to me.
I would stop kidnapping Victor if he wasn't back 5 seconds after stomping him.

I wish I got the games where the zombies left me alone.
I'm constantly running into them or having them find me and chase me off a generator.

How is it better? Yes, the amount of DCs is smaller now, but the amount of quits of any kind, including DC, suicides and plain AFKs, is the same. It just takes a bot longer to quit, and the unhooked quitters will just run around the map wasting pallets and throwing the game to punish their team for not letting them go from the first hook. Nothing is changed in essence.
Press X to doubt.
I play a lot of games, and survivors that suicide on first hook or afk isn't noticably higher than before. The same goes for Killers that I play against.

Why would you use smash hit the distance you get when you drop a pallet is emough for a killer to stop chasing you.
What Killers do you go against that stop chasing you when they break a pallet? I wish I got those Killers.

When there are still game breaking bugs in the game which can completely crash the game (and some the entire system) on PC and console?
And what about poeple holding hostage over others? You should be able to just leave the match and Q new. OR actually bring a workaround for hostage holders like invisible hitboxes if 2 hitboxes are touching each other for more than 1 minute.
Also, I still dont get the concept of bringing a DC penalty in a casual party game like DbD. If at least there were to modes (ranked and casual) I would understand a penalty for ranked like in Apex legends. But oh my, 2021 and the game is still offering one game mode... with BUGS like no other game.
Fr get your business together already.
You should exactly like the person who the DC penalty is supposed to hurt.

I always thought smash hit was good. It really helps you get away when you need too.
It was always decent, but it was hamstrung by the fact that you ended up wasting it more often because you'd get hit while stunning the Killer.
Now that you have a better chance of stunning and not getting hit, Smash Hit might be a pretty good perk.
-
See, it's lag when Killers hit through pallets, but bullshit when Survivors don't get hit.
I don't understand the complaints; pallets are supposed to be the only real consistent defence survivors have, and they are of limited quantity. How is it fair if Killers don't respect pallets?

Every match isn't SWF. Stop blaming SWF because you lost.

Wraith's add ons need to be retuned to account for his base speed.
His attack coming out of stealth is too long with the add ons, and All Seeing is hot garbage.
Also, if you're looping as Wraith, you're a bad Wraith.

I hit him, then the pallet stunned me. That's not fixed, that's broken.
Either way, survivors are mega OP right now, so that change only made them even stronger
It's literally been explained in every single thread why the hit is being taken away.
Your game shows you hitting before the survivor gets the pallet down. The server is saying "that hit shouldn't have counted, my bad" and refunds the health state.
I guarantee from the survivor's perspective he was already throwing the pallet down.

One occasional 4k doesn't prove anything. He is still the weakest by far. Against competent survivors who can dodge every single blade he is weaker than any M1 killer, since he is 110% and can't M1 properly.

If i take the last stats the dev post killer kill an average of 55% of the survivor they face. So i will say if we follow that the game is perfectly balance XD.
Btw for sure the average red rank killer will kill the average survivor because they are rank 10. But lets put the average survivor vs the average killer the game will be tight unless he face a swf if its that the survivor win easy
True rank X Killers destroy true rank X Survivors.
Games are not "tight."

but they screamed so I clearly hit them
BHVR made it so that a hit gets cancelled if you should've been stunned when your client registered the hit.
If the survivor's client communicates to the server that they stunned the killer before the killer's client communicates the hit, the server overrules the hit with the stun.
The fact that you're seeing the hit and hearing the scream is a bug, and they've already said they know and are working on it.

@Jarol said:
This makes the developers give more priority to the survivor than to the killer.
No, it takes Killer priority away.
If the hit registers before the stun, it goes through. If the stun registers first, the hit doesn't count.

I have long thought DBD trials should have a hard time limit of some kind. The "no pressure on survivors" approach that we currently have is too lenient i think. If anything id recommend the game timer start at 10 min, and additional time is added every time a gen is completed (probably like +3 min). If time runs out at any point, all survivors remaining get insta sacrificed. Trial over.
Generally this is a terrible idea.
The grey/yellow rank survivors won't be able to finish a trial. And all it'll do is encourage red ranks to bang out generators even more.

Work on gens. Get chased and end it and move on. Stop wasting everyones time. You'll earn more BP moving on then hiding for 20 minutes. It's rediculous
So because a Killer got a 3 gen (which is mostly because the survivors did it to themselves), the Killer is entitled to the kill(s)?
At least we're being honest.

If I’m the last survivor how else am I supposed to escape? The exit gates always spawn right next to each other so hatch is my only option
That's just it, a lot of Killers believe that the last survivor should just be auto-killed.
Something about the sense of entitlement thinking the last survivor should have a chance at escaping.

If camping and tunneling didn’t work people would not be on here every day crying about them.
The answer is to play survivor better. You only need to run the killer for about 80 seconds to win the game if your team is actually doing gens. How people can’t even manage that against M1 killers on maps like “the game” is beyond me.
When I am killing people before corrupt intervention is over it’s because they were friggin terrible. There’s just no other way to put it. And there’s no reason to stop chasing them if they go down in 15 seconds every time. Easy win for me. It’s really that simple. Same with camping at 5 gens left. No better time to do it. I know the survivors can’t end the game before I secure the kill and can snowball in the 3v1.
Camping and tunneling have nothing to do with skill. They are strategies that you employ in the right situations when they are beneficial to you. That’s it.
People complain about camping and tunneling because it royally sucks to get camped and tunneled.
Also, you literally just made my point: if you're camping/tunneling and it's working, it's because you're just shitting on bad survivors.

Yeah let me go onto the call of duty or rainbow six siege forum and complain people are shooting at me lmfao.
If you play killer “nice” in this game…..
~the game where you are supposed to be a bloodthirsty serial killer serving a dark god~
…..I’m convinced you drive the speed limit in grand theft auto.
I think the difference is that camping and tunneling directly impact the ability for survivors to play the game. If I'm found first, and then tunneled down, I didn't really get a chance to do anything.
The games where I'm the lucky one, I walk away with 3k bloodpoints. I don't expect killers to take it easy, but damn dude, let me get some points.
Not to mention that camping is not an effective strategy for doing your job, against survivors with a brain. And against good survivors, tunneling isn't the greatest either.

Wraith is the same he's ever been... they just made an add-on that made him viable base-kit. I posted a few things on this thread on how to play against Wraith.
Y'all don't know how to play against Wraith because you rarely saw him in matches. Now that he's viable, people are enjoying playing as him.
But he isn't though.
His other add-ons work based on the idea that his movement speed was one thing, but they didn't nerf the add-ons when they buffed him, so now some of his add-ons are seriously oppressive.

How do you play against a killer you can't see most of the time, can't hear, and he's so fast you are going to get hit, period? I think they went too far with his buff but oh well. It's not like they'll admit they made a mistake and do anything that would upset killer mains.
They definitely overcorrected him.
His add-ons weren't designed to deal with having the movement speed add-ons baked in, so he's overtuned at the moment.
Not broken like Spirit, just overtuned.

His challenge is dumb and proves nothing. If a Spirit is that close to you (the shack start he does) then one of two things happened: she has already been chasing you for a while and you have done a "pretty good job so far" or you weren't paying attention and you already screwed up and will go down soon anyway.
Aka "I'm too scared to be shown I'm wrong." Got it

This is actually ridiculous now, constant bitching and moaning about this one killer who isn't even that big of a deal. The moment she is nerfed into the ground you people will instantly start crying and moaning about slinger, or nurse or something else. This has never been about balance for you people, it's only ever been about "this killer kicks my ass and I want it nerfed."
Please do the Scott Jund challenge and show us how to play against Spirit.

If facts are toxic then it's the facts you have an issue with, not the person stating them. That means maybe those facts need to change, no?
By the ways, thanks to everyone who actually answered the question and engaged in a meaningful conversation. It wasn't for no reason; i got to thinking for some oddball reason that it might be an interesting experiment if we could see what the game would be like with just 115 M1 Killers; it'd give a good idea where Killers were at a baseline. I've found that a lot of the time I end up ignoring my power and just being a basic M1 Killer anyway. I noticed a big majority of my downs even on Killers with instadowns (I play a lot of Leatherface) are from M1 attacks and mostly powers just make the chase end a little bit quicker. I even did a good dozen no-chainsaw games and still did alright with no slowdown perks, but mind you this is as a rank 2 going against rainbow ranks.
And the mix of ranks and random SWF's is what did them in. The skill levels were all over the place to the point that the more experienced Survivors using more advanced tactics almost hindered the noobs because they just didn't understand what was going on. That in turn got me thinking about matchmaking and how it being so bad might be a good thing in a weird way, but that's a topic for another thread.
The only facts in your post were stated by the original comment concerning the reasons why some powers, strong or weak, are unfun.
No where did that comment state something was OP, just merely the problem people have with it.
The "facts" you stated are really just poorly executed attacks against Survivors . Hence why you're toxic.
Feel free to respond; I consider this conversation over.

Spirit - Can't comment, don't play her because I hate being blinded and guessing.
Nurse - She does not. She doesn't ignore spatial awareness and learning to actually break LOS, use stealth and juke. What you mean is she negates the one skill that is most commonly had and honed by Survivors.
Old Freddy - pre-slowdown nerf Freddy was...eh. I guess. I don't care anymore, all the fun's been sucked out of him anyway. So sure.
Hag - I can't even take you seriously anymore. No setup Killer should be anywhere near a list of overpowered Killers.
Huntress - And if the hitboxes were any smaller nobody would ever get hit.
Deathslinger - One of the few Killers where the skill of the Killer player matters more than whether or not the Survivor made a mistake. Of course Survivors hate him; we established that they like being in control with their herd mentality.
Clown - Whatever. Not even taking you seriously anymore.
Trapper - HAHAHAHA! Are you kidding?! TRAPPER?!
Why so toxic when someone was pointing out why some Killers aren't very fun to play against?

Why would I play survivor SOLO?
It's only OP with SWF
Most of the people who beat you are solo broski. I watched your latest VOD; Why did you camp and tunnel the Steve when there were 5 generators remaining?
Also, stop chasing as an uncloaked Wraith. Uncloak, hit, recloak, beat them to the pallet/vault they were running to. Uncloak, hit again.
-
You want to make pallets a 50/50 for the Demo. I usually throw the first one when he has his face open to condition him to think I'll always do that. So then the next pallet he'll open his face and stop running while he waits for you to throw the pallet, which you just run through and start looping around.
-
Now that DS is nerfed, entitled Killers are coming for BT.
Next it'll be Dead Hard, then Iron Will.
Eventually they'll want survivors to have no perks.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2159437#Comment_2159437
if you HEAL someone else you are forwarding the game because you are returning someone back to play or PROGRESSING their healing capability for others to finish the heal. that is the definition of forwarding the game state. so no this is not a good idea.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2159382#Comment_2159382
I don't know about your other posts but no this does not need to be rethought well actually if it does they need to make sure to add hopping in a locker to deactivate it. if you stick by the hook the killer knows you're there and can come to you 1 minute later or 1 second later. if you FORWARD game state the killer should not be punished for doing his objective. if that was the case survivors should be punished for healing for 1 minute after unhooking... (obviously not the best analogy but best i can think of). it's good the way it is now tbh. better than it's been in the past 2 years.
We're going to have a disagree then, because someone who is injured is most definitely still in play, so you would not be returning them to play, thereby not advancing the game. And, again, healing someone is still wasting the time of two people.
-
If you don't want to get yelled at, a basement Bubba usually makes people laugh.
-
DS really shouldn't deactivate if you aren't picking someone up off the ground. If you're healing, that's still time not being spent on gens, thereby not progressing the game.
But, picking someone up off the ground should deactivate it.
