whats wrong with the nickname, also by correlating people calling her ugly to her ethnicity it makes you seem to be messed up. dont correlate that stuff, also nea was ugly not even close to being because of her ethnicity. the designs in this game for characters arent that attractive and neither should they be. just try and shift that mindset because its very unhealthy
I suspect the reaction arose from the fact that Hattie Mae is the name of characters or people that are black and that the OP uses it as a nickname for an ethnic character.

nobody cares or will listen , everyone plays survivor dude. whats sick is they have the nerve to call killers bad endgame when they don't even play the side themselves because they're too scared to . they would crack & breakdown from the teabags and BM's , thats why the softest-people usually are the most annoying and they coddle in the corner of survivor instead.
If you hate the game, why do you still play?

We don't know what useful data looks like, because DbD players tend to take any data and throw it out saying it's bad

Every boon is 17,5% of a generator not being done. At the bare minimun.
That's the cost of the relighting. People need to stop pretending it is free.
If a boon gets snuffed and reblessed 5+ times and the survivors were still able to escaped even with all that extra time spend then you most likely would have lost if survivors used other meta perks too. Just faster.
Didn't you know? A Killer taking 2 seconds is totally more time than a survivor not doing 20% of a gen.

Boons needs to be one time use only. That's only change i want.
So then you'll go back to complaining that survivors run the same 4 perks

Yeah unfortunately I would like something like if u dc 30 times in a week get banned 1 day you keep? 2 days you keep? 4 days you keep? Download minecraft
That's how it works. The first DC is a 5 minute ban. Within a certain time, each DC adds more to that.
When DC punishments are enabled, that is.

Thanks for proving my point. Survivor Waa Waa, bhvr bend over, cosmetic store this way.
There are countless examples from streams and youtubers showing survivor and killer players countering Deathslinger in chase.
Thanks for proving that you're a waste of time.

I predict that the answers in this thread will be totally unbiased and not simply "Hexes/Boons are stronger because I'm a Survivor/Killer main!"
-
If you're getting your hit taken away they much, maybe wait until your internet connection is more stable?

So you want Killers to get hits when they shouldn't be.

Tthey say that hit validation is based on ping, but I've logged games where survivors have 100-200ms higher ping than I do, and when I swung at them as they dropped pallets the game still denied my hit, prioritizing the stun instead. By their description of how it works, my hit should have taken priority, but it didn't. So, you'll have to excuse me if I don't trust it.
Ping is variable. Any time my ping gets bad, I start getting hit when I shouldn't have, according to my screen. Server validation made me get hit.
Sounds like a you problem more than the game.

The fact is the devs have always stated DH needed to be reworked in light of the servers. This is bringing DH aligned with that vision. The term you use to explain it is ultimately inconsequential. If validation changed the perk to meet its intended target, I wouldn't call that a buff. However, if buff somehow makes people feel better about it, it was buffed to be fairer, which is a net gain for everyone. We should all want fairness for both roles. It's never going to be perfect due to latency, but we should applaud efforts to close that gap, not try to label it as an unfair buff to Survivors.
That's of course assuming one side wants the game to be fair for the other.
That statement is indiscriminate in who it applies to.

Was this not a change to improve the viability of a perk? Perhaps you’re the one who doesn’t understand the terminology.
Stop trying to "gotcha." It's bad form for debate.
It did not change a numerical value, nor did it change core functionality. All it did was make the game actually take into account the i-frames during an attack.
If a computer AI was playing DbD, the bug fix would not alter the conditions in which it would attempt to DH. Ergo, not a buff or a nerf.

Adding hit validation just allows them to guarantee the killer doesn't get the hit. Dead hard was working prior to this 'fix' and was still supplying a third health state even when used to gain distance. Really, they buffed dead hard with this 'fix'.
Hit validation makes it fair, not "guarantee the killer doesn't get the hit."

If you hit someone - the hit should be accepted, not rolled back. When your fair hits get cancelled for obscure reasons - it's not a fix, it's a clear additional health state that allows survivors blatantly tank hits with no excuse.
The hit should not be blinded accepted. Literally every competitive pvp game operates on that fact.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but if your "fair" hit was rolled back, it was not fair. Simple as that.

Survivor Mains don’t understand simple, terminology… or perhaps they don’t want their fragile egos hurt. They couldn’t possibly be getting carried by a perk, right?
Buff (video gaming), a change to a weapon or ability that deems it more viable for game balance.
By making Dead Hard “work as intended”, as they innocently put it, this perk now becomes insanely more viable. There are no ands, ifs or buts here - this is a straight up buff.
You just demonstrated your failure to grasp video game terminology while simultaneously insulting people. Congrats.
Fixing a bug is not a buff. Full stop. Just quoting a sentence from wikipedia doesn't change that fact.

The survivor most likely DHed coming out of the pallet vault. But from your perspective there was a little time because your game is always delayed due to you needing to get information from the survivor, validated by the server, and sent to your client.

It may work better for the survivors. But on the killer side, they’re getting robbed of downs like pallet hits.
They aren't being robbed of anything. The server said ot was not a good hit.
It looks like that because your game assumes it got the hit so it plays the animations and sounds before the server says don't.
If you were getting hits before, and now you're not, that means all of those hits were unfair. Simple as that.
-
@Junylar said:

You can't compare hatch nerf with virtual immunity at pallets and with dead hard survivors now have. They added survivors a third health state.
Imagine thinking fixing a bug fixes the survivor a 3rd health state.
If anything, it just means you abused the fact that pallet/dead hard hit validation was notoriously killer-sided.

@Arbmos1998 said:
Ngl this validation stuff makes 0 sense how it favours the person getting hit over the person applying the hit
Play any shooter ever the player making the shot always has priority over the person who is getting shot
BHVR have you ever watched Street Fighter V gameplay? Roll Back alone destroyed the game for a lot of people but you go ahead and implement it thinking its a good thing.
Yes and no.
In server-based FPS, the same effect still happens as in DbD. The bullet has to be verified by the server as a hit. This process is much simpler though, because most bullets are hitscan. So the server doesn't really have to do many calculations when it compares the locations of the hitbox and bullet. It's harder for projectiles because there's multiple moving target calculations to be made. So they make shot verification easier by making hitboxes bigger. It's why Hanzo's bow fires logs as opposed to arrows.
P2P games like Destiny verify like you're thinking; the shooter is favored. That's why laggers in Destiny can do way better than they should.
DbD's hit validation is actually decently difficult because hitboxes are moving and i-frame calculations have to be made too; if the survivor DHs at the same absolute instant as a Killer swings, the server has to calculate if the survivor was ever invulnerable during the time the hitboxes crossed. But it has to calculate the actual location of where the hitboxes are because what each player sees on their game is not correct according to the server.

It seems widely inconsistent.
Maybe you have wildly inconsistent ping?

Well it wasn't because he was overperforming so what is left?
They nerfed him because he got free zoning by not committing to using his power. The moment I see his gun go up I had to start trying to juke, so he could just tap ADS and get me to lose speed for no cost to him.
Plus, quickscoping removes agency from the survivor; if the Slinger missed a quickscope, it was solely because the Slinger missed.

I just disagree on him being unfun and hard/er to play is all. People are attempting to explain the problems, sure, but it really feels like it's just turning into "I don't like it harumph harumph."
And that's fine that you disagree, but you're in the minority.
They changed him because the overall feeling was that as a Survivor you didn't really do anything to influence Slinger missing or not. And it feels bad when the Survivor has no real counterplay to the power.
I can dodge knives/hatchets/bottles, but I can't dodge a ranged attack that has virtually no wind up.
-
@Zozzy said:
No point bringing this up. Survivors hate him and would rather they deleted the character. The devs nerfed him on request by the survivors and will never change it back because cosmetic sales.

..wha? if the difference between 115 and 110 was that small then you wouldn't be able to run a huntress around a treewall for like 4x longer than you can a normal 115% without much of an issue
but what i mean in general is that he's got not enough lethality backing up that information even if you do get within range to use it
There's a .2 m per second difference between 115% and 110% Killers. You traverse 32m in 6.96 seconds at 115% and you traverse 32m in 7.27. There realistically is not much difference between the two speeds in loops, the bigger difference is map pressure.
Anyways, he's got the same lethality as pretty much every other Killer and a lot of Killers benefit from it.
IF is pretty much a deterrent anyways. If I come up against a Slinger who is hitting his shots and has IF, I'm definitely running away from him.and not attempting a save.
I'll give you that maybe there might be better perks for him, but IF is almost always a great perk to run.
-
@Nayru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2586164#Comment_2586164
wha, i'm not playing him anymore after those changes
i just know from experience with deathslinger what his threat radius is like and i can tell you that with a range issue like that as a 110% in addition to telling the survivors to run as you go into your attack cooldown period, you're going to have a hell of a time getting anything out of it
IF is great on every Killer though.
The fact that he only has to traverse half of his terror radius in order to put you in danger of being hit is pretty good.
Not to mention that it takes basically a quarter of a second longer for him to go 32m vs a 115% Killer going 32m.
-
Making the survivor scream and kill themselves anytime they move would be a better solution
-
I enjoy the thought process in saying that a cooldown on DH isn't a drawback. Or that only having access to it when you're injured isn't a valid condition.
This thread is pretty obviously a "gotcha" disguised as a legitimate debate.
-
@Nayru said:
maybe if the max range (good luck with that one now) on his m2 wasn't only slightly over half his terror radius while still 110%?

So you've tried it with the new terror radius?

Stating the obvious but nothings changed, I played lots of matches with COH enabled and there has been no change since it was disabled to whats been happening.
The infinite loading glitch isn't the CoH crash though, so disabling one won't fix the other.
My game has yet to crash since they disabled CoH, but I still get hit with infinite loading.

This post is in no way a criticism of the dbd devs and should not be taken as such. It is also not intended to point out any forum rules being violated both of which are understood to be against forum rules.
That user is super melodramatic about the state of Survivors vs Killers. Every survivor is a SWF Seal Team 6 kinda melodrama.

If you can say that survivors could mindgame old spirit, the same is true now except on the other side. Spirit can still mindgame survivors. The difference is she no longer has the obscenely unfair advantage she used to have before. Spirit still has the upper hand in chase, it's hilarious how you are trying to push this off as Survivors being in control of the chase.
People are just salty their "push button to win" killer was marginally nerfed.

I know that's not why but would be reasonable seeing as how it's a known issue, but just another thing killer will have to play through like many other long term bugs.
A Conspiracy theorist would speculate this is a shadow test to see how well Killers do without scratch marks
I mean, they might not want to disable all the boons because it would have a semblance of unfairness to survivors if survivors' totem perks get killswitched because of that.
Realistically, once they fix the circle of healing they should come out and say if they will or will not killswitch totem perks due to unbreakable hex/boons.

20% does nothing for you, it's hilarious on how little it does, 50% would make pallets way less safe than they should be, with the amount of safe pallets, this would affect this quite a bit until they one day in 3 years rebalance the tiles
Why shouldn't an effectively nonrenewable resource not be fairly safe?

also, you think killers arent coddled? lol starstruck activates while you are walking, even if you picked up the survivor while it was on cooldown, unlike thrilling tremors, and puts anyone in it into instadown state, almost every killer has an insta down addon and an exhaustion addon, as well as undetectable, the various aura reading perks, which boon does counter, maybe thats the biggest problem killers have with boon, its not healing, its that it negates the aura reading so they actually have to go out and find the survivors, thats why i run discordance and tinkerer, no aura reading on the survivors themselves so i think it gets around the boon block, havent tested it yet though was having fun with the boon totems seeing their ranges an what not
I'm on an XSX and they were still crashing me.
Also, you sound like an elitist with your "get a better pc" mentality.

do we get reimbursement?
are we going to get blood point compensation? And how soon?
Will there be blood point compensation?
will this be exclusive to ppl who ACTUALLY paid for her and not ppl who haven’t paid for her. Being that it got disabled killers can’t really complain or ask for blood point compensation because they didn’t even have to work past it
Bruh, the boon perks crash the game. Shut up about killer coddling.

Isn't Killer MMR based on which killer you're playing? So your Nurse MMR will be different from your Pig MMR.
Also, losing games as Killer will drop your MMR, letting you match with worse players over time.
