I think think they are fun, but that nerf definitely hit them hard. You shouldn't be penalized for successfully using your power. With the way Victor's collision is, it's already hard trying to latch on to someone.
-
Well I mean we have Hag and Charlotte who are semi nude. I don't think DBD necessarily needs a fully nude Killer but I guess it would be creepy facing off against one.
-
Don't forget about normal vaults, you either go double the distance through it or just slide off of it and die.
-
I used to run Oppression on Twins (because I honestly like Oppression) however I then realized that it really doesn't do much.
My build for them is: Coup de Grace, Sloppy Butcher, No Way Out (used to be Oppression), and Fire Up

Scott Jund, and a pro dbd player debunked it in a video.
Ah I see. Thanks for clarifying.

I can tell you that it's been debunked by multiple people. You cant tell she's phasing at all, and your making stuff up. Your never truly gonna know either because of add ons also. They change her speed to enter phase, speed in phase. There's no way you can tell she is phasing without bhvr giving her an official animation
Where has it been debunked? I'm not making anything up, I've used it multiple times to see if she's phasing or not...

no it isn't. did you play 1 game against her and you guessed she was phasing and you happened to be correct? Because you cannot tell at all.
Like I just stated above, you can. Also no it has not just been one game, I have played multiple games and each time I am able to see the "snap" and tell when she's phasing.
-
@Itslat3ncy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2409250#Comment_2409250
No you cant. It's been debunked on many occasions. Her animation resets randomly
That's incorrect, her phase animation always snaps to the first frame of her idle animation, it's not random. There's a very distinct snap to animation that she does, you just have to focus and you will see it.

@Kaitsja said:
Spirit is the problem. She lacks consistent counterplay, and there's no telling if she's faking her power or actually phasing. Not to mention that when phasing, Spirit has every advantage over the survivor while the survivor has to guess which move will be the correct one.
Except you can tell when she's actually phasing, it's really easy to spot. I don't get why people have so much trouble telling the difference...

I've seen clips of The Twins recently and all the bugs have put me off playing them for a while
But Blight I think is fine, just knowing what objects are slippery and learning how to use them to your advantage can be a huge help, all the reworked maps (except Yamaoka and Badham) have slippery shacks and you can do some crazy stuff on them
Right, at first I wasn't gonna talk about Blight because I know some people use it to their advantage but it still hinders some Blight players. On top of the bugs, the pounce cooldown nerf still makes using Victor unfun.
-
It's extremely boring to play on. I get it, they wanted to copy the map exactly and put it in to DBD for the RE fans and while I will admit it's impressive and design wise it's beautiful, gameplay wise it's absolutely atrocious. The layout it way too confusing and there are so many dead ends and quick turns that you have to do it almost makes me motion sick.
RCPD is not good for DBD.
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
there's times where you can be blocking a survivor in a corner as victor, and somehow the pounce goes through them and hits the corner behind them.
HAHAHA, I've never had that happen to me but that's hilarious. Usually if I corner a Survivor, instead of hitting them, I get bounced off of them and fly backwards.
-
@Altarf said:
I hope not. The Twins don't need a rework, they just need minor numbers tweaks. Increase Victor respawn time to 10 seconds, make all pounce cooldowns 4 seconds, decrease Charlotte wake-up time to 2 seconds or so, allow swapping back to Charlotte during a successful pounce cooldown. Fix Victor's buggy pounce so he stops sliding off and hitting objects not even on the screen. Etc.
The primary issue with Twins is that nobody knows how to play against them, such as crouching when approaching a hook to check for a camping Victor's shrieks, looping Victor around dropped pallets, grouping up with another survivor and kicking Victor whenever you have the chance. If they were played more and survivors stopped baby raging and disconnecting and actually learned how to counter them, I'd argue they'd be complained about a lot less.
If they do some stupid rework like making Victor controlled by A.I., making them impossible to loop as you'll get sandwiched, I'll lose all faith I have for BHVR. They'd be turned from an extremely unique and interesting pair of killers who have a very high skill ceiling involving macro play, into yet another 1v1 inevitable death ranged attack killer. You can't loop two killers at once, and the Twins should not be able to both be active at once.
I hate to say it, but I think they are going with the AI route. Just look at the changed addon descriptions, it sounds like Victor will be controlled automatically. As a Twins main myself, I agree with everything you said, they just need number tweaks.
The major problem that I have with them is Victor's collision. Just like Blight, he slides off of almost every surface.
-
I wouldn't mind that. Like you said, Iron Will states that it only silences grunts of pain so the normal breathing should still be there.
-
Design wise, it's really amazing and the graphics are beautiful. Gameplay wise, it's straight from hell and easily worse than Haddonfield or Badham. It seriously needs to get reworked, as Survivor and Killer I have no idea how to get from one side of the map to the other.
-
Yeah they skins aren't that great...I'm also upset that the recolors aren't full outfit recolors like we normally get, but just recolored pieces from random outfits.
-
Iron Will will always be used over all the other perks that also reduce injured noises because...well...it's just better than all of them combined. It's going to be worse if this buff goes through. It needs to be nerfed in a way so that the other perks can compete with it.
I think Off the Record is fine the way it is. The duration could be longer but I think it's still a decent perk.
-
@glitchboi said:
I don't really consider it a rework, it's more of an expansion to Clown's kit. Examples of reworks would be Freddy and Bubba.
The antidotes are a really fun and neato chase utility, and are highly underestimated and underrated. You can combine them with the tonics to get easier hits, and absolutely demolish loops. It also gives you counterplay to W meta, the +10% speed boost is a lot more powerful than it seems.
The speed boost is very powerful I agree, I still think it takes too long to activate though. I think it just needs a slightly reduced activation time and it will be fine.

Survivors don't lose memories after the trials, I HATED when they introduced this in the archives. It just take away every opportunity of story progression and it also contradicts old lore.
100% agree, with the Archives, they have been contradicted A LOT of the old lore and it's very upsetting. Take Legion and Nurse's logs for example, they completely contradict what actually happened in their backstory. As a Plague Main, I am happy that they didn't change too much of Plague's old lore.
-
They had to balance out the "buffs" they gave him on the PTB so they took away the very thing that made him powerful...that sexy wink :(

@Canas said:
Oh, also one more thing: he'll still have his awful 40m lullaby terror radius like Huntress despite being significantly worse than her. If he can't even sneak up to people just because his tune is audible so much sooner it'll rob him of his only opportunity to get some early hits in. Now he'll be absolutely forced to loop every single survivors he comes across.
Trickster has a lullaby? I never knew that even after all this time he has been out.

Plague speaks. One of the devs referred to trickster as the first killer that speaks but vom queen did it long before
"Addanika Dingir asapu me!" "Attention God, exorcise the sea!"
I translated it myself in a thread a while back. I love how her mori line ties into her lore as she probably said this line while she was the high priestess!

Oh, I see. Well, I am not that excited for them either, but they are not the worst possible changes.
As for The Realm Beyond itself, that thing is a monster. It destroys what we love while failing to address the few actual issues that remained.
Totally agree, Badham is still an awful, awful map.

Well, I don't. I despiste the Realm Beyond with a burning passion. And, while I do like some of the new chapters, I can easily live without them if that means returning to a better time.
Oh sorry I wrote that wrong, I meant the Killer and upcoming Survivor graphical reworks, not the map reworks. I swear those updates either made the lighting more terrible than it already was or made the maps just not fun in general cough AUTOHAVEN AND THE GAME cough

Can't even be called an event, to be honest. That was nothing more than a failure, a total mess.
I remember that I got extremely angry they were not doing Winter Solstice anymore, but after seeing the Eternal Blight I was kinda glad that were not going to ruin another good event.
Agreed. I can't wait for no actual gameplay changes and event cosmetics locked behind an auric cell paywall instead of community challenges and event objectives! :D

"I miss old DBD."
So do I, my friend. So do I.
Don't get me wrong, I like all the chapters we have been getting (minus the bugs and other stuff) as well as the graphical reworks but the lackluster events and rift between the devs and playerbase is just disheartening.
The only thing I'm still "excited" for is the Archives since I love learning about the lore in this game.

I don't even want to see it. It is probably going to be The Eternal Blight version 2.0, but worse.
Exactly. Such a shame one of the best events turned into...whatever Eternal Blight was.
-
Hallowed Blight will always be my favorite event. The new objective, ways to unlock outfits without Auric Cells, actual gameplay changes...I miss all that and like you said, I miss old DBD.
It honestly feels like the devs don't care as much as they did about the community anymore. They used to be very transparent and honest but now I just see the same copy and pasted response.
-
@GeneralV said:
A recycled content which barely works...so much for a "big" event.
It's funny because they said they were going to put all their focus into the anniversary and Halloween events and not the other one because those 2 are the most important...look how that turned out...I can't wait to see what happens this Halloween.

@Unifall said:
And yall just eating it up. They can release bad updates and you guys just receive it getting on your knee like a medieval knight getting excalibur lol. Just don't buy cells or take a few days off guys. They'll listen hopefully.
DBD income is primarily from new players buying the game, DLC, and auric cells/cosmetics. Playing the game doesn't give them money.

I had this glimmer of hope for 2 years (from when i started playing).
I came back recently, which is like 3 months ago by now, from a 4 months break. I was still playing on and off but not that quite consistently.
This glimmer is still slightly there. But it's like a fire that's using it's firewood just a little too fast.
Well if these broken updates and "events" keep continuing that fire will most certainly go out fast.

I remember the Winter event from 2018. You had like 10 gift boxes in a Lv 50 web and could get anything out of it + at least 2 winter party starters. The frosty eyes cosmetic were just added to your account. No login stuff. We never saw these firecrackers again btw.
Right. I remember them saying one time that firecrackers were going to have addons or something like that...another thing that never happened. I miss the old winter and halloween/blight events, they were the best.

Well, there's no need to make me seem like some sort of celebrity or anything. I'm happy to stop by. (:
I posted that quote from Heisenberg because it really sums up my thoughts about the game right now. And I very much agree with your points about the game being a disappointment in it's current state.
I think it sums it up perfectly, it's funny but true. I have been noticing that more and more players are getting tired of this constant cycle and I hope that we can somehow make a change.

Happy 5th Anniversary!

Why do you expect anything else? It was like this last year. I rolled back the amount of time I put into this game. I might play two or three matches a week compared to 5 or 6 a day. Haven’t spent a dime since last year. I still had a bit of cash left from that time period to try out nemesis but I won’t be getting Leon or Jill.
just don’t expect anything from them and play this game casually. Anything else is a heart ache waiting to happen.
You are right when you said not to expect anything else. My expectations for this game has lowered significantly. I just had a glimmer of hope that for the 5th year anniversary which is quite the milestone, something would change.

Same here. I've had that message, I've had 'your currency couldn't sync up' about 4 times, and I got kicked out of a game I was loading into for an 'unstable internet connection', which I have never had a problem with before. Pretty concerned about this.
I am getting the currency issue as well. Is it when you try to buy something from the bloodweb? That's when I am getting it.

It shouldn't have been nerfed, it was fine the way it was.

They are testing the system right now with Nemesis. You notice how you turn blue when contaminated?
I think you may be right, I can only hope it gets added back soon!
-
@Mat_Sella said:
To me, it seemed helpful as killer because if all 4 survivors decided to be the same character with the same outfit, you can tell who's who (or at least who you havent chased yet) because of the blood that is or is not covering them.
I didn't even think of it that way! Nice catch.

That's even cooler. My comment was based on a comment from the devs that said they couldn't because of technical reasons (I don't remember when, but a lot of time ago).
No worries, it has been a while. I wish I had footage of it but I can't even find it online for some reason. It's like it never existed...
-
@White_Owl said:
Considering Contamination does the same but blue I don't see a reason as to why it couldn't be implemented.
It was a little bit different since I think it slowly spread throughout the outfit unlike how contamination just all appears at once but I totally agree.
-
@DwarvenTavern said:
Right.. that was a thing. That would be nice, just little things like that makes things more pleasant
Plus it would make the game a little more immersive since you will actually see the blood spreading while injured. Like you said, it may be little and insignificant but it's the small things that count!
