I agree. It seems like a lot of players will take one look at a perk and decide it is OP if it even has the potential to make their job just a little bit harder. It's disappointing to know there are so many close-minded people. I feel that you need to have more accepting individuals when it comes to a game like Dead by Daylight.
-
Hmm.. Distortion.. Lockers.. Staying within a certain distance of the killer.. Hiding behind a generator..
Damn, there is almost nothing to help counter BBQ's aura reading ability.
-
I find it bs that I can smack a survivor when I obviously should have missed. Proper hit-boxes are something that this game desperately needs.
-

I'm more irritated with other players than the game itself.

So it countered DS. Isn't that what Survivors have been preaching for ages?
I don't think anyone wanted something that made it a waste of a perk slot. DS is already terribly situational. You need to be hooked first, and you need to be caught again within 60 seconds after being unhooked, AND you need to hit a skill check in order to use it. Then, on top of all of that, Enduring completely negated the stun.
-
In the same patch that Mettle of Man is introduced. RIP M1 Killers. Can't wait for that third chance the unhooked Survivor gets.
You obviously don't realize that Enduring made DS absolutely f*cking useless before this patch. The killer simply had to turn and smack after DS was triggered.

She did it while I was chasing a laggy af guy, to try to bully me 😂😂😂 I can't blame her, my outfit and no Ruin makes me look like a baby 😂😂😂
@Poweas They probably just wanted to take the aggro off of the survivor. That is what survivors are supposed to do after all: Help each other survive.

It is toxic, because this is supposed to be a game where you don't want the killers attention.
In a situation where my teammate is dead on hook, getting tunneled, or I'm responsible for putting them in a bad situation, I will do my best to take the aggro. Yeah, I might die for that, but sometimes you just gotta take one for the team. On top of that, some people may just want to instill a chase. Chases are more fun than repairing a generator, that's for sure. Not only that, but in a lot of situations, you need to start a chase just so you can pip. I don't know if you knew this, but it's fairly difficult for a survivor to pip if they have never come in contact with the killer. Hell, I think I've had games where I safety-pipped or de-pipped because the killer was either really bad or they decided to afk.
Just because a survivor is trying to get your attention, it does not make them toxic. If they're teabagging and clicking their flashlight at you at every pallet drop, sure you can call them toxic.
-
I have no trouble playing killer. If I'm ever bested by a survivor team, that's that. Does it feel good to lose? Of course not. No one enjoys losing. But I don't let that define my overall experiences of this game. A majority of the matches I play, I either 3k or 4k; however, it seems that every killer main I see on this forum decides that a single bad game represents all of the matches they play. It's just not logical. Do certain things still need fixing? Yes, there's never not something that needs fixing in a game like this. Regardless, players on both sides always feel the need to play the blame game whenever something goes wrong, and that's really disappointing. You'd think people would be more above that kind of thing.

I've not seen any killer mains on this forum say mettle the of man is op... Fake news
@Petraaahh There were so many posts from people saying they would quit Dead by Daylight if Mettle of Man was released with Ash as is. Everyone else told them to wait for its release to see how it would work in a real game, but nope. They just look at it like it's OG Decisive Strike.
-
Clicking your flashlight is used as a way to get the attention of the killer. I would not consider it toxic.
-
I'm going to buy him from the store, personally.
-
You know what would be nice is if you could put different cosmetics on all the characters. Obviously you couldn't though. Everyone has different body shapes and sizes, and I feel that BHVR wouldn't care for recreating the cosmetics for each character.

@Saint_Ukraine yep. You might need to adjust your audio, or put on headphones, but you’ll hear yourself breathing still, and you’ll hear your own groans of pain too if injured. They’re just very reduced in volume. An attentive killer will pick up on this if they’re careful enough.
Alright, thanks for telling me that.
-
Kinda. I got him to P2.

I think it would be interesting to have a robot/animatronic as a killer, but I'm not sure if a licensed killer from a shunned video game would be the right place to start.

@Saint_Ukraine actually thats not true. A killer right next to a locker with a survivor inside WILL hear them breathing. If they’re injured, they can hear the groans of pain within approx 4m of the locker.
But back to the point made about Doc, yes hiding in lockers protects you from Carters Spark, and it also reduces your madness level.
@DudeDelicious Really? Whenever I get into a locker, I can't hear my character make any noise.

Survivors said that for 3 years. The killer should just git gud
@Master I feel bad when I go against a low rank. Like, I don't want to defer the person from playing the game, but I also don't want them to kill me or my fellow survivors.

Hiding in a locker gives you iron will? What exactly you mean?
@Slayer When entering a locker, you make no noise. i.e. Groaning and breathing.
-
Yes. duh
Who wouldn't?

I think he says " the goal is to not be dead by daylight" implying that he'll speak
I believe he was saying that the goal of the survivor is to not die; hence, why he said "not be dead by daylight."
I do hope that he speaks, however. Ash has had plenty of good catch phrases throughout his films and tv shows, and it'd be great for some of them to appear in the game.

Imagine this scenario, if you will. Head On (no exhaustion affliction), Sprint Burst, Dance With Me, Quick and Quiet.
>Killer waltzes by a locker.
>Survivor exits the locker quickly, using Head On, and Quick and Quiet (tbh, I don't think Q&Q would make much of a difference in this situation).
>Killer is stunned.
>Survivor then Sprint Bursts away using Dance With Me to hide their scratch marks.
>Killer has no idea what the hell just happened or where the survivor went.
>Killer's time has just been wasted, and the survivor gets away scot-free.
-
I feel like everyone knows this already. When using the Legion, use Feral Frenzy to catch up to a survivor and get an ez injure on them (you can lunge with Feral Frenzy, btw). After hitting them with Feral Frenzy the 1st time, catch up to them again and turn Feral Frenzy off. This'll allow you to get an ez down on them (especially if you have stun reduction add-ons).
Hiding in a locker gives you Iron Will for as long as you are inside one.
The hatch will spawn under these conditions: 4 survivors alive, 5 gens powered. 3 survivors alive, 4 gens powered or more. 2 survivors alive, 3 gens powered or more. 1 survivor alive, 2 gens powered or more.

When entering the dying state, during the falling animation, you can still recover during that time. You do not have to wait until the animation finishes to start recovering.
When playing the Nurse, you can charge your next blink while in the blinking animation. You do not have to wait until the animation finishes to charge your next blink.
When playing the Pig, you can see how much time the survivor has before dying to the Reverse Bear Trap by the light color and pace of its sound.
Not sure about this one, but you'll bleed out more slowly if you remain still while in the dying state.
@Nickenzie Thanks for the Nurse tip!

Hey man. Just thought I'd say I made a teensy little mistake. That metal hand that Ash has in that picture I posted is the wrong thing. The hand appears in Ash vs Evil Dead, not the movies (my bad). Here's a pic of its first appearance.
I'll give some context (Spoilers!). Ash loses his prosthetic hand, and so Pablo (his friend) builds him a new one. He uses a knock off Power Glove, what looks like bike chain links, and other various parts and materials.
I thought I ought to correct myself. I also didn't want to leave you ill-informed. Sorry for the confusion! 😓
-
I would think not, as I wasn't under the impression that there was a punishment for excessive dc's.

I had a Michael that let me do two gens while a Dwight stealthed around doing nothing. He killed me when the gates powered, but still pretty cool.
A clown told me he didn’t tunnel me Bc he said I didn’t bring a flashlight, tunneled the other person though.
Had a pig take me to hatch Bc I was grouped with a bunch of over altruistic goons that all ended up slugged, and I got them all up, plus did all the gens by myself, they skipped out the exit by the time the pig spotted me and trapped my head. They said I deserved it.
Honestly met a lot more cool pig killers than others. So I love them.
Gotta stay true to SAW. If you fight for your life, then you deserve your life. (Or something like that; I don't really know)...

Why would anyone want the bloodpoint grind to be harder? I've capped my bloodpoints a few times at 1,000,000 and spent them all on a lvl 1 survivor. While trying to only buy the cheaper things in the bloodweb, I think the highest lvl I've ever gotten a survivor to with 1,000,000 bloodpoints is 40. 40! And it took me a good, long while to cap my bloodpoints! Survivor is already a terrible choice for bloodpoint grinding, as WGLF is pretty difficult to max out stacks on it, and survivors will usually always get only 15k-20k from a good match (without bloodpoint offerings). Typically, no survivor main is going to want to have to play killer just to grind for bloodpoints either. The fact that you would want to make it more difficult for survivors just boggles my mind.

In my opinion, it's more of a loss to dc, as you gain absolutely nothing from it.

Okay, I don't really know about all this hatch nonsense. If I'm survivor, and the killer's camping the hatch, I just do gens to bait them away from it. If they don't, guess who's going to get the exit gate escape, as well as more bloodpoints? Me! If I'm the killer, and I want a 4k, I let the other survivor bleed out until I can find the other one (typically, I don't do this, I'd rather just finish the game). Otherwise, I'll just try to find the person before they find the hatch. If a hatch stand-off takes place, I usually wait maybe 10 seconds before smacking them and moving on. It's not that big of a deal. I'm okay with a 3k. I'll still probably end up 2-pipping and getting 25k-30k bloodpoints.
As for the dlc price, I am perfectly fine with it. It's only $8 for a chapter, (which is a much better deal than many other games have for dlc). They also allow you to buy original survivors with Iridescent Shards, which may seem like a grind, but if you play regularly, and get your daily survivor and daily killer matches in, you'll have the Shards you need in no time. And regarding licensed survivors and killers, BHVR has to pay royalties for those licenses.

bE has already thought about implementing a way for the killer to close the hatch. They were not satisfied with the results; therefore, they decided against it.

I'll always try. Even with Bubba guarding his basement, I will try. I've been using Borrowed Time more, so I think it's likely that we'd both make it. If not, then I'll body block as best I can to take a hit.

@Saint_Ukraine The aura reading only activates if the surv decides to heal. Since a lot of players don't heal because of efficiency, especially in the later stages of a match, there isn't a real downside to this perk. It's surely not a perk for everybody but a powerful one for good loopers.
@NoShinyPony Well, I usually heal anyway, unless they have NOED.

@Saint_Ukraine: Does it only work once in a trial, or is it every time you take 3-hits from an M1 attack?
If it only procs once per trial, then whatever, it's of no concern to me. Just adds a little more challenge is all.
@Kilmeran Mettle of Man will only activate once per trial, and you will be able to see the survivors character model outlined in white when it activates. I believe this perk also allows the killer to see the aura of the survivor after it is used. On top of this, the aura does not go away unless you go down. Either that, or when you are hooked.
-
I would like it if either:
- You start the trial in the healthy state.
- The killer can't see that you are broken.
-
I believe they would have to buy new licenses in order to do so. I read someone's comment about that in another thread. I'm not sure if that's true, but I too hope for new cosmetics.
On a different, but similar note, someone wanted the survivors to look more like the characters they're based off of, and I think that's an awesome idea. They posted pictures of what the characters might look like. Here's their thread, if you're interested: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/24351/get-the-likeness-rights-for-the-licensed-survivors#latest
