  • The hitboxes are a major pain along with like 20 other bugs since the newest update.

Even before the update i discovered some bug where as a survivor i couldnt interact with a generator and as killer i couldnt kick some generators

Theres a weird bug in the end game score tally where every survivor suddenly loses their hair cosmetic

Theres a bug where the run animation doesnt start after you leave the gates so you just moonwalk into the score screen

Theres a bug where you get way more bloodpoints than you should if you claim a daily reward with the bloodweb open

Theres a bug where people are getting old anniversary items in levels 8 and 16 of the bloodweb

If you use the perk inner strength the walk animation doesnt sync to the increased walking speed so it looks like youre moonwalking around

Theres like 20 nurse bugs that make her unplayable except for the diehard nurse lovers who are willing to work around all of them

Theres a bunch of new infinite loops on maps like springwood and haddonfield

Theres a couple of fat shame spots on some of the swamp maps, not just the bus in autohaven

And then theres the bugs everyone is complaining about ie hitboxes, collision on some map tiles etc etc

Then on top of the balance issues they still need to address like keys, which can spawn in chests btw which is absolute bs, this game is an absolute dumpster fire when you add in things like survivors in post game chat saying they **** on the killers face or killers being salty **** too by camping everyone. The worst was witnessing a red rank oni slug everyone within the first 3 minutes of the game once, which is impressive sure, but the same with gen rushing idk why some people want to finish a match in like 3 minutes like wheres the fun in that? I dont see the fun in trying to humiliate the killer either but thats just me i play both sides pretty evenly but switched to survivor more because killer is stressful AF but now BOTH sides are unplayable!

Theres also a bug in the ranking system so sometimes you dont get any points for hiw long you survived AND some other ranking bug where you get knocked back WAY more ranks on rank reset than you should, i went from rank 8 to 17 overnight and now because of the emblem system bugs i cant pip sometimes when i should have and dont u dare bring up "rank doesnt matter" because it does, the broken matchmaking still tries to put you in lobbies close to your rank and this is an issue because i went from having competent teammates in solo to pure potatoes overnight and now i cant rank up in solo queue to get away from the potatoes because it only depips me for dying but doesnt pip me for surviving!

This game is pure trash at this point.

Ive been playing animal crossing instead the last few days.

My recommendation, get a switch or a 3ds and get animal crossing. Super metroid is also super fun to revisit.

Also to all the haters In Silence IS A FUN GAME

Have you by any chance had selected the Meg cosmetic from the rift? That could be the cause of your skin getting changed to default.

No its one ive had for a few months that i purchased in the store

  • This has happened to me once or twice since the update and I'm on pc.

I've also loaded into a lobby recently and my characters cosmetics were swapped to the default skin but the inventory showed that I had my cosmetics equipped. That happened to my meg today.

  • The fact that he doesn't have to do anything to get his power is what makes him great!

Out of all the killers there's only about 1 in 5 whos power isn't controllable by what the survivors do, which is sad tbh

If anything he's incredibly weak without pgtw, surge or some other gen slowdown perk as long as you have someone on your team good at chases.

However if you give him a decent aura reading perk and pgtw or a decent gen slowdown then it's pretty much a guaranteed 3k.

Used to run pgtw, bbq, stbl, and nurses on him and there was maybe only 2 matches that stand out as frustrating 1-2ks but it was against all rank 1 survivors on comms and they were in it to win it like nobody's business.

I think they just need to adjust the passive sleep timer, that's the only thing I find annoying about playing against him.

  • Play bubba with lightborn, mad grit, iron grasp, and agitation then let the facecamps begin.

It's the most evil thing I've ever come up with.

  • @Tsulan said:

    Uhh... what?

I take it you've never heard of mercury retrograde? You should google it. Then you'll see why I'm saying that rolling out every major update to a video game during a mercury retrograde or very close to one is no bueno.

  • I like all of these ideas.

To add to it, how about a game mode like flashlight tag. So every survivor comes with a flashlight and someone starts off as the obsession. The killer can only hook/kill/injure the obsession and every time the obsession tags another survivor with their flashlight then that survivor becomes the new obsession. If the killer kills the obsession then the match is over. The survivors have to cleanse all 5 totems on the map in order for the obsession mechanic to stop and they still have to complete all gens for the gates to open.

  • IDK I used to play on XBOX before switching to PC and I had a group of kids I consistently played with who were likely all between the ages of 8-13. They were super fun to play with and spent most of the time in KYF as opposed to actual lobbies. I remember we once spent an entire match playing leap frog through different vault windows which really entertained the killer lol They all watched samination and stuff like that so for them it was really just a place to goof off

But would I let my Kids (should I ever have any) play it? Hell. No.

  • That's too bad. When I play LF I find him to be one of the strongest killers in the game, so facecamping isn't necessary.

IDK if you'd have fun against me tho, I'd probably just chase you around the map for the entire match occasionally revving the chainsaw but never actually hitting you. You think I'm after you but secretly my goal is to demolish every pallet on the map before the EGC is over.

  • Solid ideas. I like the idea of there being separate bloodwebs for perks and items.

Or getting rid of perk tiers.

I like the idea of cross-character progression on common perks, so once you unlock something like insidious or resilience for example, then it is unlocked for all characters.

  • The game yeah, but also haddonfield has at least two infinite loops, I think springwood also has more than one.

And then there's maps like some of the swamp maps and autohaven in particular have huge deadzones which is the opposite problem.

  • Yeah it's pretty bad on Xbox.

I sold mine and dbd along with it because of the toxicity.

I've got a switch and animal crossing now. I'm done with dbd.

I still like to watch streamers play, and to read the forums to remind me why I ditched this game.

  • Survivors will do toxic stuff like that.

Believe it or not it used to be WORSE. They actually had to nerf flashlights at least once already in the last 4 years the game has been out. They used to literally insta blind you without really having to aim them.

Any suggestion you put out about any of that stuff will likely get trolled or steamrolled.

IDK have you tried playing civilization? 🤷 I heard that's a fun game.

  • Yeah this game is a hot mess.

I thought I was getting a horror game filled with suspense and cat and mouse chases.

Instead I got a purple haired Nea Karlsson running around a car while being chase by one of the most iconic horror movie villains for 1-5 minutes until she drops a pallet on his head, t bags and runs away.

  • Okay, I can't respond to everyone but this was insightful!

Thank you! I'm definitely going to give it a try on some of the low mobility, non-insta killers!

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Is it a big deal? It's incredibly rare that I ever see someone running Save the Best for Last. I don't have it on any of my killer builds either...

I just see a lot of people talk about it and a lot of streamers using it like it's the secret sauce to a lot of builds lol

It doesn't seem all that spectacular to me either. I was just wondering what the hype was all about

  • Same thing keeps happening to me. I'll get the same map 2-3 times in a row, even when I switch over from killer to survivor.

Playing as killer: Rotten fields, rotten fields, springwood, springwood, Ormond, Ormond

Switch to survivor: Ormond, Macmillan, macmillan

    etc etc

Maybe it's the MMR trying to compile data on your skill on each map? IDK

Lmao that is the truth, as killer I had someone DS me and unhook right in front of my face, he barely got any distance and when I got him I was called a "tunneler" even tho he just used DS and unhooked instead of running away.

    OMG IKR

I got called a tunneler after deliberately going out of my way to stay as far as possible from the hooked survivor and then they ran right into me on the other side of the map and so I downed them again.

    🤦

Killers absolutely can win without tunnelling, slugging & proxy camping. It’s on very RARE occasion I slug and that’s due to survivors swarming around the downed survivor with flashlights or some unbeknown reason.

If you want to play like that - fine - but don’t make excuses and act like you have to play a certain way at a certain rank, because you don’t.

It's what you have to do at high MMR.

IDK if you have any experience playing against high MMR survivors.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1521960#Comment_1521960

How? Please explain. I'm not the one wanting Huntress to revert to old Machine Gun Huntress and keep 3 instadown hatchet build.

It would be like if I said BNP needs to be gotten rid of completely, or any number of other survivor items/perks without something to counterbalance the suggestion simply because I felt like it was OP. That's entitlement.

There's a reason why some players use certain builds. I'm not saying it's fair in every scenario but if, for example, you take away huntress iri hatchets and infantry belt then you just buffed higher MMR survivors who play against her indirectly and that's not fair to players who play her at high MMR without something to counterbalance the nerf.

I'm sure she's just fine without it on PC but console players don't have the benefit of a mouse.

There's more to consider than just your feelings and you should try to be more constructive.

  • When I play PH the better survivors usually drop the pallet early and immediately take off at an angle to avoid the ranged power then they loop the pallet and fake the vault to get me to prep the power and then I cancel and then they make the vault and take off at an angle. It's tricky but it happens often.

You can also use high obstacles around pallets that block line if sight and just hang out behind them and keep moving back and forth periodically to keep PH guessing if they're trying to get you from behind a line if sight blocker. Doesn't work if they have I'm all ears equipped tho

  • That's a fair summary.

I usually play Freddy, spirit, infinite tier 3 Myers when I want to win.

I play the other killers to mix it up but it's a success rate of 50/50 mostly depends on the survivor group. A good survivor group can still demolish Freddy and spirit though but that's rare.

The other killers just don't have any way to cover enough ground quickly enough to end a chase and move to the next survivor(s) before they complete one or more generators.

I'm oddly successful with clown but not against coordinated groups who just steam roll generators.

I'd say the killers who have can cover ground fast enough are Freddy, demogorgon, maybe wraith with add-ons, nurse but she sucks on console, hag with traps so long as people run on them and don't flashlight them, and that's about it. Of those killers only Freddy can't have his map covering potential controlled by survivors.

It sucks knowing you did well and ended chases quickly but since you can't move or cover ground fast enough you essentially might as well try to be in 3 other places at once.

I like demogorgons teleport as far as being balanced and fair and think all the killers should have something in their base kit that lets them cover longer distances more quickly and I think they can and still have it be fair, like putting limits in it in different ways.

    That's my opinion

you act as if without iri head huntress will turn into old freddy

No, I'm saying if you're going to suggest a nerf to someone (which they don't plan to as far as anyone knows) then there should be a buff to compensate. That's called being fair.

  • No, can you actually engage in civil conversation?

The entitlement is strong with this one. Literally no introspection or consideration. Just easy 4k's and zero skill.

If nerfing Iri head destoryed Huntress, you absolute genius, then why do so many killer players consider her one of the best killers in the game addonless? Also, name 1 nerfed killer that actually dropped in strength to the point of becoming worthless. It certainly wasn't Nurse (who's still insanely strong), Spirit (most people forget she even got nerfed) or Legion (was it a nerf? It's hard to tell at this point.)

You sound like the one who's entitled

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

More like "survivor complains about bamboozle because it prevents them from humping the same god window over and over again and it might actually require them to git gud at the game if they don't have that window's proverbial peen to ride".

😂 As long as I'm not the one who said it

  • I'm sorry but it's not "killer uses bamboozle cause they can't mind game a window" it's "survivor complains about bamboozle because they can't string together loops"

Bloodlust exists because otherwise the game would entirely consist of killers chasing survivors around a pallet for 5 minutes each match. I'd rather play civilization

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1521850#Comment_1521850

1: Iri head/infantry belt is the most crutchy add-on combo killers have, easily the equal of DS/UB if not even stronger.

2: Her windup time was nerfed for a very good reason.

So you'd just nerf her to the ground like they did with half the other killers so no one wants to play as her?

At some point there won't be enough people interested in playing killer and the devs will have to replace killers with bots.

    Sounds like fun 😑

    Not

  • BBQ, pop, nurses, and unrelenting ☺️

BBQ and pop synergize well to slow down gens, nurses is just good meta all around, and unrelenting because clown is built like a T-rex, he has a small reach (tiny arms +tiny knife+ big belly) and he needs a quick m1 cool down to compensate.

His add-ons don't make a huge difference once you've gotten his throws down.

I only reload once I've put someone in a hook and while I'm scoping with BBQ activated.

Use his potions to steer survivors where you want them, to end chases quickly by hitting them with them while in certain loops, and to punish survivors for using vaults and pallets by throwing potions where they'll end up landing their vaults.

    Have fun!

  • @MadLordJack said:

No, better: Iri head/infantry belt with BBQ, Corrupt, Pop, Whispers.

I see why Iri head exists, I like the idea of a glass-cannon-style addon, but I don't think it should pair with extra hatchets. That just takes away any risk.

If they're going to nerf iri head and infantry belt then they also need to buff her hatchet wind up time

  • It's a catch 22

Killers can't win in high ranks without tunneling and slugging and the occasional proxy camp.

Survivors can't counter those without the crutch perks.

TBF I get called a tunneler even when I leave and patrol gens and then run into the same survivor I just hooked and down them again.

I get called a camper for camping the last person on hook when the gates are open

    🤷

  • I should also add that when survivors leave me toxic post game chat I use it as an opportunity to amuse myself.

I like to get into character as the killer I'm playing and think of hilarious responses.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

Isn't camping, tunneling and noed (with ruin) also a beloved red rank tactic

Oddly enough I just lost to a camping red rank fully prestiged huntress so I stand corrected

  • Focus on perks that synergize, especially with your killers power as well as together on their own. I see a lot of killers with garbage perk loadouts. Each killer is different in that regard.

Stay calm, I always do better when I'm calm even when I'm getting BM from survivors.

Try running discordance for a while and you'll develop an intuition for where the survivors spawn in each map.

If you've played a lot of survivor then you should already have a good idea of how to counter a lot of survivors.

Learn to take a step back when they're 360ing and then choose a moment to swing. Learn to follow scratches and blood trails AND use your eyes and ears. It's easy to lose lots of killers in corn etc unless you really learn to hone in on the scratch marks.

Survivors learn to counter killer perks and usually anticipate the most commonly used ones. If you get really confident with tracking and chases and mind games start dropping one of your typical killer perks for something unexpected that throws the toxic crowd for a loop. That's why I like running either mad grit or lightborn or both. They never expect those perks and cocky survivors always end up paying for it.

I'm mad good in a chase and with mind games so I usually tuck something unexpected alongside your typical arsenal.

No matter how good you are you're still going to lose if it's a coordinated hardcore group of gen rushers. Just accept it and play your best.

  • Same rainbow medley for me on killer

On survivor I went from having highly skilled teammates and mediocre killers to having potato newby teammates and red ranked killers all in the span of two days.

I hate the toxic salty messages I get after a match too. "GG EZ" "Get better"

It's like of course I didn't win, you [bad word] tryhard, I was playing huntress without any gen slowdown perks and wasn't slugging or tunneling anyone. Some people like to just, you know, play for fun.

  • I haven't noticed any difference TBH both have been awful 🤷

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I’ve had this happen to me ever since the implementation of dedicated servers. It’s highly frustrating

OMG I only recently started to notice it. They'll 360 and if I swing and miss they just run off but the scratch mark trail ends so I run in the direction I heard them take off and within 8 meters the trail starts again and they're as far ahead of me as I'd expect if they had run away the whole time only their trail had this big gap in it.

It's super frustrating on dark maps like backwater swamp or macmillan and if your're playing against survivors in darker color palettes.

It's even worse with Freddy because of his weird graytone vision.

    ugh

every game tonight as killer I've been coddling sweet tiny noobs, and I'm OK with that. I'm SO used to "if I'm chasing a good looper that means their SWC teammates are popping all five gens while I'm wasting time with this chase", but now that's totally not the case; the good looper is the one red in the match and all the rest are precious potatoes trying their best to figure out the controls while the red and I play the big kids' game. <3

    "Precious potatoes" 😂

IKR! I got one person hooked and slugged two with mad grit, and they were both trying to blind me but I had lightborn! I can only imagine their shock and bewilderment it was too funny!

It also threw off their chase game later on because they didn't know what to do without their flashlights, and from the shock of mad grit. It was amazing

Use Agitation over Iron Grasp. You get more distance AND can get a wack on someone with mad grit because they don't expect the extra speed lol.

Whenever I'm on Bubba it always feels like an uber cheasy mode sweat fest.

And when playing against him I just go /Super_immersed_Blendette.exe till I'm caught then its /suicide.exe (because rewarding pay2win crutchlords with free faceroll win is lame) or /hatch.exe if I'm lucky enough to avoid the sweat for that long.

On console she is without a doubt the worst killer in the game. Her blinks rarely get her past obstacles and she can very easily be countered by just running at her when she holds a blink. She is severely limited by the controller.
